This was once my favorite place, even i thought i had found the perfect hidden gem here in riverside ! came a few times with hubby...But sadly , after this visit never again. I had already had bad service the last two times I had gone buttttt the food was good!! I said why not give them another try the food is good , I said ehhh what if This third time was the charm. BUT BOY WAS I WRONG! . It started it out good , it wasn't the same lady I had the last two visit so was alreading starting off good. This guy seems good great service greeted us nicely fresh coffee perfect, order are food , came out a good time. when it came close to the end me and my friends are slow eater we asked boxes to go but weren't getting ready to leave just yet. We were still chit chatting. The place wasn't packed early morning. We got are boxes started putting the food in the to go box. When my friend finds a hair in her meal, at first we thought could have been strangled eggs since sometimes it leaves pieces but it was thin and sturdy cant be a egg, as were skimming throught its a hair a short yellow hair .!!! ewww . We let the waitress know very politely hey its a mistake shouldn't happen but it did. So we tell him about the hair found and he says would you like another plate of the same maam , no thank you. He walk to the kitchen and mentions it to the cook. He comes back and mentions that 'its not a hair it plastic" like its suppose to make it any better! giving us teh dirty look as he Flicks the piece of hair (plastic) off his finger like a bugger! ummm whaaaa... Oddly enough this was the backup option because the place my partner and I originally wanted to go to was packed so we just sat in the car and looked up places near by and this place looked promising. First off I love places that look unassuming from the outside but inside it was quite pleasant, small and very cozy kind staff and the menu has a great amount of options to choose from for a decent price at that. Came here for brunch on Sunday by myself. I was fortunate not to have a long wait for one person. The person that greeted me said hello and painted me to the table I was sitting at. The place is busy, they had people waiting outside and people kept coming. The food was okay. The service was basic. I ordered eggs Benedict with potatoes and as you can see in the photo they almost tasted like hash potato on some spots and hashbrowns in the other. The biscuit and gravy were basic. Nothing to rave about as the biscuit was a bit hard. The service was simply okay. At some point I ran out of coffee and waited for a while before my server came to my table again. Overall the food and service were okay. I do plan to return to try a different dish and give this place another shot. read more

I'm a local here in Riverside and Amy's is definitely one of my go to spots. My favorite is the hard shell, shredded beef tacos with their salsa, onion rings a, pancakes and breakfast. The ambiance of the cafe was so uninviting due to so much going on from the decor to the menu. You walk in and are asked to sign in the second you walk in because there is no waiting area you have to stand in front of the door. On the way to our table, two different people stopped our host to let them know they messed up the food. I brushed it off and ordered an orange juice the juice tasted so bad. ABSOLUTELY LOVE. It's a very basic mom &pop diner, but WAAAAY better than Brandon's in my opinion. Their customer service is so great!! Everyone has been friendly and very quick to respond to us. We called them about 30 min before they closed at 2PM, asked if it was okay to come in or when their last call was (because we reallllly didn't want to be THOSE people, LOL but we really do love their food). They said it was okay!!! Which I LOVED. The woman I talked to over the phone said that as long as we order food before their close, then we'll be okay, which was perfect because we knew what we wanted. My boyfriend loves their country fried steak and turkey bacon, ham club sandwich. Their breakfast burrito is great! Very simple, yet still delicious. The bacon was still crispy so it still had great texture. I've also tried their country skillet, and it was good too! Simple, yet satisfying!! Cannot recommend this little Cafe enough. Even tho it was about 20 minutes after they closed and we got up to ask for the check, the staff that was cleaning all mentioned "there's no rush!" I brought my son here for a late lunch/brunch after picking up our Christmas tree from Pine Haven Farms out in Perris. He decided to go with a kids meal, a small pizza with crinkle cut fries. He liked his food with no complaints. Considering he had been snacking and had no real appetite like I did, we can say it was a hit for him. As for myself, I went with the Country Fried Steak, 4 eggs and chose hashbrowns and biscuits with gravy. The CFS wasn't bad, freshly made and was decent. The gravy for both my CFS and biscuit was bland, sadly. If the gravy had more flavor, it would have made a significant difference. Eggs came out perfectly overeasy and the hashbrowns were standard, no complaints there. This is a cute mom and pop shop for breakfast and lunch. It's like a little upscale to Denny's but with a more unique Mexican vibe menu. They serve good American food with a twist of some Mexican dishes. I've gone here twice for breakfast and have never gotten any of their Mexican dishes, but they all sound and look delicious. I got the corned beef hash and eggs with hash browns and a French toast as my two sides. It's pretty good and a fair price for $10. Their hot cocoa is good and comes with thick creamy whipped cream which I particularly enjoyed. Their menu looks standard with eggs and different breakfast sandwiches. The service is always friendly. And the place is always clean. The parking is limited. There is a motel right across from it and apparently they got annoyed with people parking in their lot so a lot of the parking is designated for the motel. Good thing this restaurant is like a quick eat and go restaurant and people are always coming and going so you can find a parking spot in no time if you have to wait for someone to leave. read more

It had been a couple years since I had lasted visited this place and I have to say it is still point on. Orded the eggs Benedict and it was served up hot ( most of the time my sauce is Luke warm) the potatoes were absolutely delicious with the added onions and peppers and our server was so amazing. I have been coming to Amy's Cafe for years and yes there food is great!! but this last visit was incredibly terrible first of all I'm not one to give too many reviews but when it's something that contains an issue with customer service we have to share for other customers what to expect As I'm sitting waiting for my food I hear the waitress talking to which sounds like a new customer asking about the menu when he did that she belittled him and asked him to make up his mind that she's very busy but in a horrible rude way I continued minding my own business when my food was brought they messed up on a custom issue that I had with my dish which is okay we all make mistakes when they brought it for the second time we noticed they messed up again so I calmly told them again please make sure it gets done correctly she yelled at me from across the kitchen and said I know I know pretty much telling me to shut up with that being said I patiently waited for them to redo it for the third time they bring it in and again it's wrong that was the last straw I said I thought you said you knew she then with an attitude said I do know and I said apparently you don't and I did get a little loud because I was frustrated from when she yelled at me from across the kitchen as for my money back she gave me a horrible look and sent her son to my table when he told me to do not yell at his mom while I'm holding myself in my chair I told him I don't care if she's your mom she yelled at me first and I'm not her son she shouldn't be yelling at customers I then paid my bill and left we will never go there again and any customer who goes there should know exactly what they want and don't expect to speak your mind I didn't get the waitresses name but she was Hispanic and had a tattoo behind her right ear in case management wants to know and do something about it read more

My 70 year old parents were out visiting. I took my 5 kids and parents to Amy's Cafe because of the food. We went into Amy's 9 meals were ordered. All was good. My Dad, being the generous father he is, grabbed the bill and paid. He is a 74 year old who has always shown his appreciation to everyone by tipping them. My father has always worked hard for his money and thus he wants to bless those who don't get the appreciation that is overlooked by others. My father took one step into the servers area and handed each cook a gracious tip. A young Hispanic tattooed individual aggressively raised his voice at my 74 year old father telling him to get out of the building. My father finished handing the cooks their tip and the server stepped toward my father raised his voice to a yell and appeared to want to fight. The server was so out of line, another older server yelled from across the building to stop talking and "shut-up". I quickly walked over to assess the problem and this boy was telling us we need to get out of the building. I told the server his actions are really "over the top", and I will not be ever coming back as my father was just showing gratitude to the cook! Again the server was just wanting to yell instead of being grateful our generosity... I will never be stepping foot in that facility again. I just recently moved to Riverside, and so far this is my favorite diner, and one of the few real blue collar diners that I've found. Almost everything else is a chain. The food is good, and the people are great. There is almost always at least one regular sitting at the counter, and the waitstaff seems to greet almost everyone by name as they walk in. Veronica even learned and remembered my name after only a few visits. Parking on the weekend can be a bit of a challenge, but that is true of almost every diner. read more
