I feel guilty myself that I am supposed to write this review since I have received the first service from Dr. Trang Ton. Anyway, I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent service Dr. Ton has provided during my visits over the past 12 years. She is an outstanding dentist who is not only professional and Intelligence but also possesses a kind and compassionate heart, showing love and care for others. One day I was surprised and shocked to hear that she is no longer working in her office and her office has been sold to other Dentist since April, 2025. I know that from now on there will be no other to replace the level of service she provided. I'm very disappointed that some people out there gave her unfairly low ratings. Those reviews do not accurately reflect the quality of her services. This might have happened due to jealousy or personal reasons. My wife has also been with Dr. Ton for over 12 years, and because of that, neither she nor I have been able to find another dentist who meets our expectations. May the best times of herself and her family past repeat themselves in the future. May the worst times of the past be erased. Dr. trang is nice but she only care about the $$$$ and $$$$, not how she taking care your good teeth. She did my root canal so quick around 5-7 mins all togethers and it was done. A month later i came back and she insert the crown on. Around a year later, my crown lift up and growing mold in there and it was infected and hurted so bad. I came back to see her and she blame on me because i did not take care my tooth well, and blah blah, all she said it was bull shits. I got mad and arue with her and she she did refused to redo the crown for me and asked me to paid full price again? wtf... . She is a big liar. Dr Ton and her staff are by far the best dental office I have ever been to. I have have had many Dentists over the years and they range from very bad to pretty good. But Dr Ton beats them all by a mile, she is the only dentist I am not dreading seeing. Receently she did a crown on a new implant and a replacement bridge (top 4 front teeth). The work was incredible and absolutely no pain, even after the novacaine wore off. I recommend this office to everyone. we, all family been this Dentist for long time, since 2000. From last couple years Dr Trang Ton only care about money, since she only care money for her business, nothing care about clients. I can tell that I only do ROOT Canal but I have to do 4 different times (one time per monh, total 4 months ) to complete Root canal procedure. And ofcouse she charge 4 times, total $1200 total for one tooth ROOT Canal, an offcouse I have to pay $450 copay for total. This is real thing. read more

I have been going to Dr. Ton for the last 14 years. I completely forgot about filling out a review for this office until I had to look up the address to refer a friend. I saw Kevin T's review. Was very long but that was what I had experienced with 2 other dishonest dentist in the past. Unfortunately , I had to deal with some so called dentist that only care about making money and had no ethics. Dr. Ton is a honest dentist that truly cares for the health of my teeth. Where do I even begin?! Scroll down to paragraph 4 to skip the background info. I have a history of poor dental health but yet have gone without dental insurance most of the time, for decades. Recently, I had been having issues with what I thought was my old root canal molar. So, I called around town for pricing on an evaluation and xrays. I ended up visiting a couple of dental offices. Before a friend heard about my predicament and forced me to try Dr. Ton and her office. I do not know what is worse, a car dealership and auto shops or these dental offices I visited. Long story short-ish, I felt like I was being strong-armed and pressured with scare tactics into accepting dental services I felt may not be necessary. Granted I am not a professional and should not dismiss their assessments but the pressure was real. One of the offices wouldn't even entertain treatment on my teeth (root canal and fillings) until I agree to a deep cleaning which they quoted over $600 for. Apparently, I also had no enamel left so I needed multiple products to maintain what I had. Mind you, these were not suggestions, they were a "requirement". Needless to say, I was now even more concerned about my dental health but also felt like there was a lot of misinformation going on. Fast forward to Dr. Ton. After airing out my sob story on social media, one of my old buddies from college convinced me to make the 1 hour plus drive down to Dr. Ton (almost 2 hours back home). He said Dr. Ton is hands down the most honest and down to earth person and professional he knows. The following is my experience with Dr. Ton: Visit #1: Dr. Ton and her staff were able and willing to receive me right before closing on a Friday evening, Her office is not "fancy". They are still hand writing in their appointments (not a knock on them). It is clean, simple, and functional. The receptionist was on the phone but acknowledged me as I walked in and addressed me as soon as she was off the phone. Within 5-10 minutes I was seen by a friendly dental assistant (Patty?) who also took my X-rays. Every staff member who walked by said hello. Dr. Ton also waived hi as I was getting x-ray'ed. During the evaluation, Dr. Ton asked (very soft spoken) what had brought me in. She listened to my spiel (see above paragraphs) and proceeded with her assessment. She confirmed that at least one tooth needed a filling. She concluded that my concern for my failed root canal seems to be unfounded. Instead, an adjacent molar has a deeply progressed cavity that MAY require a root canal. Without dismissing my previous dental assessments about the condition of my other teeth, she simply said, in her opinion, all I needed, at this time, was a standard cleaning. She confirmed that although I had high wear to my enamel none of the measures I had been scared into taking were needed. It's simply something we will keep an eye on. Caps may be needed but we are talking about decades down the road. I left my first visit feeling much less stressed. Pricing wise, as a cash patient, Dr. Ton and her office quoted me similar prices to what I had paid to another good dental office, almost 10 years ago. And much lower than what the other offices were trying to charge and up-sell me on. My 2nd visit was for the filling and possible root canal. Dr. Ton explained to me that she will assess the large cavity closely before making the final determination to do a root canal. To my great relief, she reported that after clearing out the decay, she still couldn't not see the nerve (meaning the decay did not in fact reach the nerve). A root canal was not needed at this time. After being told by other dental offices that I would need 1 root canal for certain, and maybe even 2, I was affirmed that Dr. Ton is as honest as they come. After Dr. Ton's work was completed, she gave me post care instructions, educated me on what symptoms were normal and which were not. I was then transferred to the Dental Hygienist who did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth. She took her time and though my jaws were already tired and sore from the filling procedure, I was more than happy to lay patiently while she thoroughly cleaned them. Would I recommend Dr. Ton and her staff? I wish I can give her 10 stars. I do not need the fancy TVs on the ceiling, or the free toothbrushes. I simply need good quality, no up selling, dental care. I will be advising my friends and family who have PPO to switch to her and those with HMO or without any insurance, to go to her as a cash patient. PS: Implants were one of the first things many other dental offices also said I need. Implants were the last thing Dr. Ton brought up with me. TLDR: Other Dental Offices tried to scare me into services. Friend recommended Dr. Ton is worth the drive. Dr Ton told me what I truly needed and no more. Procedures went well. My parents, siblings, and I have been going to Dr. Ton for our dental care for years! Dr. Ton and her staff are incredibly kind and trustworthy. Every dental hygienist I've ever had has been great and the x-ray tech is super friendly. They don't recommend procedures that are not necessary and I've never had any issues with insurance coverage even with a couple of insurance changes. I waited many weeks with painful dental issues before offices were finally allowed to reopen. Dr. Trang and her highly qualified staff came to my rescue...again! I felt comfortable knowing that the COVID-19 pre-screening process had added an additional level to the already sanitized environment and could not be happier with the services provided. Throughout my lifetime I tried to avoid the pain generally associated with going to see a dentist but after 12 years of going to Dr. Trang I actually consider the very little pain well worth the visit. I also have to admit that because she did such a good job last time I felt "Bullet proof" and didn't schedule the suggested cleaning appointments. I love Dr Ton. A friend recommended her to me and I have been going to her for 11 years. I've had really bad experiences with dentists and my last one was trying to rip me off with a lot of unnecessary dental work. Dr Ton doesn't do that. She always explains to me why I would need a certain procedure and also provides options. One of the other things I like about going to Dr Ton's office is that I never have to wait. I'm always at a chair by my appointment time and she's open on Saturdays! She is caring, has a gentle touch and does great work. She is my family dentist: four of us sisters and our respective families go to her. Very affordable, like $100 or less for a filling (unlike here in Seal Beach where it's about $230/ea). We have gone to others near her during our 28 years in the area, but she comes out the winner. The office has been updated recently so it's even better. Dr Ton was referred to me by a friend 6 years ago. Even though we don't live around the area. We make the 35 minutes drive just to be seen by her. She never charge more than what the insurance will pay for regular and deep cleaning. There were other procedures she did for us that we never get a bill after. She works with you as much as you can and she will find out first if your insurance will pay for and how much before doing the procedure. Unlike most dentist just bill you the rest. I feel She honestly doesn't make much off each patient but because she takes so many in she is able to keep cost low. The best part ? She is nice and professional. The Dentist is awesome. I have 5 children. I took my first child when she was 3 years old up until she turned 25. She still continues to go see her when her teeth needs dental work with her own dentist insurance. I'm so impressed how they treat my five children, myself and my husband.
