This place is amazing!! First they have 3 different types of dough.. Gluten free, wheat, and regular. I got the gluten free because they were out of wheat for the free pizza day. It tasted great! They warned me that it was a little smaller than their normal pizzas but it was free so I didn't care! They also have like 5 different types of sauce, I got a mix between spicy and regular marinara. I went on the first day they opened where they were giving free pizza for everyone, which was ridiculous. I went towards the end when they were closing, and I'm sure they were all exhausted, but they had great service and were extremely helpful. They also have great marketing, I've seen their jeeps, beach balls and signs everywhere! The concept is great... Pick as many toppings as you want... And don't feel bad asking for more of anything! First visit to this brand and location. Tried the honey/spicy pizza (can't recall the name) but it has pepperoni, goat cheese and is then drizzled with honey. It was really good. Nice balance of spicy and sweet and the goat cheese provided a bit of tang. Lots of great flavors going on and the crust was thin & crispy but not too thin. I came here shortly after midnight on a weekend before a holiday, after getting off from my second job. I was the only customer in the place. After I paid for my pizza, I was informed that they would not give me a cup for water because it's their policy to not give out cups of water after midnight. I get why that might make sense on most weekends when Federal Hill is swarmed with overly drunk 21 year olds, but as a 30 year old 100% sober person in my work uniform, and the only customer in the place...I was pretty annoyed. Also the pizza isn't very good; on par with Red Baron frozen pizza but not quite as good as DiGiorno. If you want pizza in Fed Hill go to Pub Dog instead at 20 E Cross St. It's a short distance away, food costs the same as &pizza, they're open until 1AM every night of the week, they have better pizza with better variety of toppings, and they do not have any silly arbitrary rules about drinking water. read more

Had pined over &pizza for a few months now, as they were just out of my delivery radius and my friends had great things to say. Finally, one lazy Friday night, we trekked out to Fed Hill. &pizza is an East Coast make-your-own-pizza chain, with over a dozen DC locations. This is Baltimore's first shop, located on Charles Street and spitting distance from Ropewalk. &pizza is about as unique and edgy as pizza gets; the interior looks like the pizza shop of the future, all done up in bold black-and-white graphic art, white marble, and slick concrete. There's a fridge full of artisanal water, La Croix, and some uber-chiq teas bottled in jam jars. The soda fountain carries a dizzying display of flavours ("cereal milk" cream soda, pear + fig, passion fruit + mango, ginger berry lemonade, etc.). And there's almost every kind of pizza topping you could ask for. All pizzas are $10.50 (tax included) with no limit to toppings or sauce. The pizzas are long and ovoid - more like a flatbread than a pie. You can get the dough in traditional, ancient grain, or gluten free. I opted for the ancient grain dough (which was amazing - the perfect thickness and bite! A+ crust!) and saddled it up with half garlic ricotta sauce and half traditional marinara. For toppings I opted for the fresh mozzarella, broccoli, cherry tomato, shredded chicken, and (yes) the pineapple. My creation went into a conveyor belt oven and then, after it was baked and toasty, I got to add another selection of fresh toppings. Seriously, the toppings never ended. I wrapped things up with a drizzle of garlic oil and fresh basil leaves. While I said that I'd eat a few slices in the shop and then take the rest home... uh... I ended up eating the whole thing in one sitting. It was scrumptious. The toppings were really fresh, especially the chicken. While I'm usually a white pizza fanatic, I liked the marinara sauce more than the garlic ricotta. Only critique is that my cheese layer was a little thin, so many of the toppings were trying to slide away. This could probably be rectified with more cheese. (I mean, what can't be solved with more cheese?) FYI: the refrigerated waters here are almost $3 for a bottle. We bought a cup for the soda fountain because the flavours looked cool, but I wasn't too enthused with that many? The Milk "cereal milk" cream soda was tasty, but I don't think I could of drank more than a cup. And, while the pear + fig one was amazing on first sip, it had a vaguely chemical aftertaste. I didn't taste all the flavours so I may have also just been unlucky with my selection! tl;dr: super cool make-your-own pizza stop - easily the best make-your-own I've been to. Lots of vegetarian and GF options. Ingredients are fresh and store was surgically clean. Staff did not hesitate to help customize our orders. Drinks are pricey and a tad lacking, but otherwise I wish this place was closer to my home base! read more

The location is in a great spot near both stadiums. The restaurant was clean and modern. Orders were taken quickly and the pizzas were cooked quickly in a conveyor belt oven. I ordered the moonstruck pizza that has mushrooms and goat cheese, along with other things. They put a cherry bomb sauce on top after it was done baking. It was one of he best flatbread pizzas I have had in a long time. They were generous worth the portions and the flavor profiles were good. This place is a make your own pizza shop that has special menu items such as mushroom truffle sauce, and French onion soup reduction. I've never seen a pizza place with such unique items that allows for all you can choose items. Some are premium but for the most part you don't need them. This place also is very reasonably priced at around 10 bucks for a full pizza. If you're looking for slices this isn't the place for you. Taste was pretty good as it was well portioned pizza. I went for a Yelp event and I didn't have high expectations for this place (there are tons of make your pizza places around) but I was impressed with this place (and it's not because they were generous with their pizza!) Their farmer's daughter (egg, sausage, tomato sauce, sausage, etc) was really good- the egg was perfectly cooked at just runny and it made for an hearty, flavorful meal. I would totally get this again! I also liked the moonstruck (mushrooms with ricotta and balsamic glaze) because the flavors all went well together and the mushroom was nicely roasted! UPDATE: Since my previews visit, I have came back to this &pizza locations twice and they have met my expectations. I think the instance below was an isolated night. As I mentioned below, &pizza tastes great. The pizza line idea is fantastic and I consider this place to be one of my favorites in the city. -- Wow... I have always loved &pizza, staff and their overall experience. However, tonight was a huge let down. First the whole ingredients line was a mess. Food and sauce were mixed within each container; the line table was dirty; and although I was at the front of the line, I had to wait 20 minutes for staff to get ready to take my order. While I normally wouldn't mind mind the wait, it just seemed that most staff didn't feel like being there tonight. I purposely went to try the Dirty Bird pizza, which comes with certain ingredients I like. I asked for it at the start of the line and when I got to the final topings I was told 2 of the ingredients had ran out -- I probably would not have ordered that pizza if they would have told me that to begin with. The food always tastes good at &pizza, that's why I gave this a 2 star. However, this restaurant used to set itself apart for its service, organization and cleanliness. I walked into this place at 2 am on a weekend night (morning?) and wasn't expecting much, but wow, &pizza really knows how to make a pretty spectacular pizza (and in less than 10 minutes!). I'm a huge fan of any pizza joint that lets me completely customize my pizza for a bargain. The establishment is clean, efficient, and the staff is quite friendly. There are plenty of options for crusts (GF friendly), cheeses (vegan? no problem), and both veg and non-veg toppings. I was actually surprised at how fresh the ingredients were. All three restaurant staff (prep, cook, and cashier) accommodated my request for glove change due to a food allergy with a smile. The cook was especially friendly and spoke with us about the Book Festival going on nearby. We were in and out for carry out in only about 5 minutes. I ordered the Moonstruck pizza, with added bacon. The crust was crispy and flaky, with a slight roasted flavor as if it came out of a coal fire oven. The sauces (mushroom truffle base and fig balsamic finish) were very well balanced, savory and not too sweet. The caramelized onions taste so good they could be eaten on their own. The veggies were all very fresh and crisp. The pizza was large enough to make two meals for me, so it was a good value. It even tasted almost as good re-heated in the microwave later. Of course parking is a little difficult (but we parked only a block away, and the neighborhood is very walkable), but that's not anything to do with the restaurant.
