Well although Rayy W. went ahead and told you all what I ate for my 25 for 25 meal I'll go ahead and give you some details anyway. As she said, the service was really good. Our waiter was awesome, very attentive but not overly in our faces. Drinks came promptly as did all of our courses. The bread good, I enjoyed that it came with tahini, that's not something you see too commonly. The tomato soup was ok, the low point of the meal however. It kind of tasted campbell's-ish but with some depth. I loved the tiny croutons though :) Rachel's salad was awesome though, the cheese was so creamy, the beets were very flavor full and it all paired really nicely with the almonds and sweet red onions. For my entree I had the risotto with cherries, arugula, mushrooms, and goat cheese. The portion size I was a bit disappointed with. Since its 25 or 25 they charge the same as the non-veg. entrees and it was pretty small. After all it is just rice and I thought they could have put in a bit more to make it even look similar in size to the clam linguine. The flavor I really liked though. It was perfectly cooked, nice and creamy, and everything in it worked really well together with a nice squeeze of lemon over the top. Dessert was really good. The pound cake in caramel sauce was really moist and tasty. Their 25 for 25 menu changes in 2 weeks and I'm tempted to go back and eat there again for that. *UPDATE* I went again with a group of 5 and the meal was excellent, the service was perfect, and it was overall a 5 star experience so I'm changing my rating to match that. read more

First off, a couple of beefs: I'm on their email list and they have occassional special wine dinners or theme nights. The problem is that while the mailing always says the chef has prepared a special menu for the event, the menu is always the same and pulled right off the restaurant's regular menu. I've only eaten there twice so if I've noticed it I can't imagine I'm the only one. Another beef: Their duckcakes, which they claim to be a specialty of the house and which they hype-up like crazy, are bland, overcooked, chalky-dry and gritty, have very little duck flavor and are served with a sauce that doesn't go with the cakes at all. This was a REAL disappointment as I had them both times I was there and I LOVE duck! Now for a quick rave: If you get on their mailing list and include your birthday they will send you a certificate for a $25.00, unrestricted free lunch or dinner. This is an incredibly generous gesture and one I greatly appreciated. Some pretty good food here, though little to get overly excited about. A very good, generously portioned cheese plate with an impressive assortment of very good cheeses. However, at $15.00 it had better be. Right off the bat with your meal, they may have the best hummus I have ever had. Rich, earthy and really fresh. It's a bummer, though that after 2 meals there the hummus served to every patron with their bread is the single thing that stands out from our meals. I thought my paella was very good but as it was the first time I'd ever had one I didn't have anything to compare it to. Neither my wife nor I remember what she had (it was several months ago) and that's saying something right there. Overall pretty good food, good drinks and okay service. After 2 meals there I still can't quite figure out why this place has the reputation in this city that it has. read more

Would be awesome date spot! Sexy swanky scene. Stumbled onto this restaurant wandering around with friends on Friday night. We were dressed pretty casually and thought we might be underdressed but everything was very casual and we were quickly seated without a reservation. The staff were all very nice from host to waiter. We had both the pork and paella, both were incredible, but the paella was crazy good. The clams and mussels were perfect almost melt in your mouth and the shrimp and rice were perfectly seasoned. Shocked it wasn't annoyingly crowded for a Friday. Great food was worth every penny. read more

Lunch was sherried almond scallops, pumpkin risotto, and a tarte tatin for the 30 for $30. The scallops were amazing- it was the perfect blend of olive oil, red pepper flakes. leeks, spinach & almond butter. They serve the scallops on a small ramekin atop watercress and a side of grilled potato bread. My appetizer came out before the obligatory bread basket (with a fabulous but salty hummus). I noticed that the couple next to me received their entrees when they weren't finished with their apps, so pacing must be an issue here. The risotto was a bit of a let down, though it is plated in a mini-pumpkin. I couldn't finish the risotto (so now it is hubby's dinner) and wanted to save room for the tarte tatin. It wasn't your classic tarte but an individual serving on top of a round disk of puff pastry with a slightly caramelized apply, whipped cream & mint leaves. I really adore the classic serving but I guess that it isn't practical to make a whole tarte tatin and serve wedges of it. Andaluca was packed- could be that it was the pre-holiday shopping crowd, but you had to have a reservation for lunch or endure a wait for a table. I'll be back to try their tapas. read more

We have traveled far and wide and this is in the top 10 restaurants we have had the pleasure to enjoy! Complex yet simple. Looking at the menu some flavors do not seem to go together but they blend beautifully!! We had Pintxos, about 8 different items, so to give specific details on each is hard. Full bar so if you want the Mayflower hotel is up the stairs! We did not stay there but walked in and looked around. Quaint and very friendly staff. Great service, cozy, quiet atmosphere. We went here initially on the Savor Seattle tour and couldn't wait to get back to have a real meal. The food was really great - attention to detail, excellent flavors and quality ingredients. However, the service was terrible and totally ruined the meal. We ordered a few things and they came out very poorly paced. Two items initially then a very long wait (25 - 30 minutes) and then two more that were fairly thrown at us as by our waiter as he rushed by. Then he just disappeared. We were going to order a few more items but he never came back. Another 20 or so minutes staring at dirty plates and wondering what the heck happened to our waiter just bored us past caring and we decided to leave. We finally just gave our credit card to another server to pay and only saw our server again as we were walking out. I love pintxos or tapas style but part of the fun is eating a little, ordering more, eating a little and so on. However for that to be a success the waiter must actually return to allow you to order more. Prices are pretty much in line with tapas I've had elsewhere so I have no complaints there but all in all it was a disappointing experience. read more

I'm surprised the reviews are so low here. I'm always looking for a good tapas place and figured this would be a great way to end vacation. When I looked up the place I was able to make a 7pm reservation, but when we showed up we definitely didn't need a reservation bc the place was practically empty. After looking at the menu we decided on a few tapas and sharing an entree. Our server decided to separate everything into courses which made for a really great experience. Visiting Seattle these last few days, I've tried a couple of restaurants, the latest of which is Andaluca, with some work colleagues. As a less-than-starving group, we ordered sparingly but ended up very pleased with our meal. First, the service. Odd. Period. The waiter was a strange fellow who didn't seem to really know the menu...just a couple of random things. I guess we didn't really need help, but he also lingered a little too long when it was obvious we weren't ready, cleared the table while others were still eating, and generally seemed uncomfortable. We ordered several 'shareables', appetizers designed to share around the table, of which my opinion varied: So So: Lamb Dolmas - didn't try them...not a big dolma fan, but supposedly they were good Crab Tower - shreds of dungeness crab instead of chunks, packed over a stack of guacamole. Seemed a little odd but sure looked pretty. Vegetable Meze - Grilled veggies with pickled beets, marinated mushrooms and a goat cheese phyllo thingamajig. Half good...don't like beets though! GREAT: Stuff dates - almost like a dessert, these little dates were full of a chorizo goat cheese mixture and roasted. SO tasty, everyone wanted more. Ratatouille en Filo - light and flavorful, with savory ratatouille inside. Delicate without being blah. Gala Apple Salad - strangely good. Slices of apple over spinach with goat cheese and candied walnuts. Recommend skipping the pickled onions. But the kicker was the cider vinaigrette that was as much cinnamon as vinegar. Sounds odd, but was actually surprising. But what made the meal were the two entrees we decided to share. The Shellfish Stew was chock full of giant mussels, clams, shrimp and amazing white fish in a smoky tomato broth that just begged to be dunked in. I'm not sure if one person could have eaten it, but to share, it was perfect. The ingredients were cooked to perfection (not over cooked) and the saffron aioli swirled on the plate lent an extra punch. And then there was the risotto. Duh duh duh. EXCELLENT. Like come back again for it excellent. It was so rich that there is no way a single person could put it down, but wow. I'm still thinking about it. The aborio rice was delightfully creamy, likely helped along with a mild Spanish cheese of some sort. It was chunky, filled with pieces of zucchini, squash, tomato, cilantro, almonds, shallots, garlic, fava beans, saffron, cinnamon and sweet black currants. Between the currants, cinnamon and almonds, it almost tasted dessert like. Until the savory vegetables and bit of cilantro came in. I honestly have never had anything like this. If I could box it up and bring it back to the hotel with me, I'd take it back to NY. By that point, my gang was beat and wasn't really into some very odd dessert concoctions. Had a great halibut sandwich here. Also had a great Rainer Cherry Salad here, which I now make at home all the time. Good service. My only complaint is the prices-it's a bit expensive. But good food. And not overly crowded. Not one of those places with the terrible "overly-hip" crowd-you know those places are sooo overrated. Not like that here. read more

Suggested by an employee at Nordstrom's, this was an early dinner before we started walking about 6 miles around town. Adjacent to the Mayflower Park Hotel this is an upscale establishment but we didn't feel out of place in our tourist attire. Ashley was wonderful and even brought 2 glasses of champagne to help celebrate our anniversary trip. This felt as comfortable and relaxed as our own dining room table. This restaurant is located in the Mayflower Park Hotel. The menu is mostly Spanish and concentrates on specialties such as Paella, beef and lamb dishes. Breakfast is also served here and traditional eggs and bacon are offered along with some Mediterranean additions such as chorizo and stuffed French toast with orange butter and syrup. Dinner was a Petit Rib Roast which we shared. It was cooked medium, tender, and was served with roasted whole carrots and pave potatoes---a kind of scalloped potato sliced paper thin. A Rioja reduction sauce completed the dish. I also sampled a glass of house made Sangria which was not your usual sweet, fruity, syrupy concoction that many places offer. It was made with Rioja wine, spices, orange peel, and a touch of brandy. It was very clean, refreshing and tangy! For dessert we again shared some house made mango sorbet. A great finish to the meal! On our final day we decided to try breakfast here. We had the American breakfast---two eggs basted, home made pork sausage with sage, fried potatoes. We also had an order of stuffed French toast with cream cheese, an orange butter served on the side and maple syrup. It was all good and satisfying! Again, it's nice to have a couple of options in a hotel. We're finding that rare these days as many hotels have stopped having dining facilities. The Mayflower may be one of the exceptions. And it's nice especially on a rainy night to be able to come down from the room and enter a comfortable place to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner! read more

Dined here for lunch during 25 4 25. First thing about the place is that the service was really nice. Immediatly greeted, attentive waiter and support staff (no empty water etc.) The food was good dessert actually being the best but i always take these opportunities to order what i would not normally. The green bean and goat cheese salad was very well done but we're still deciding on some of the ingredients (all good, just unidendifiable, maybe beets). My entree is not something i would order again but it was well done, clam linguine, VERY bold sauce, but the tomatoes in it were PERFECT. Bit down on a bit of shell but everyone knows that oreding that kind of stuff is at your own risk. Dessert was yummy, vanilla gelato with espresso creme friache, that's right I (yup me) consumed something with coffee and enjoyed it (any more, however, would have killed me.) My companions dishes were good too, a tomato bread soup (the right side of so-so) a mushroom, goat cheese, cherry risotto which was very nice albeit being made with fruit and her pound cake was good too. NOTE try the pound cake With the vanilla gelato, NUM! I was kind of biased when eating here because I have worked with the chef at a charity event and the food for that was amazing but i was not disappointed, for the most part, at anything offered here. Again, service was excellent, this was also the first dining experience in which i turned down a wine i hated and was cordially accomodated. If you're going to spend $100 a couple (plus tip) for dinner, find out first whether they have a convention or tour booked in the hotel that night. If they do, go somewhere else. We had reservations but had to wait for a table; the dining room was filled to the brim with what the waiter said was people from a "tour." Unfortunately, even after the wait, we were placed next to a table of six people who laughed shouted at each other for an hour and a half; the four of us had to shout in our turn to converse. Because of the tour, the kitchen was overwhelmed, so we had a considerable wait for our food. The food (I had their 3 for $30 special tapas selection) was all right, but everything was over-herbed and over-spiced--too much dried oregano and thyme in one dish, too much hot chili in another. Not the deft food I remember from a few years ago before they took up the tapas (Pixcori) craze. read more

My husband wanted to try a new place and took me here for mothers day. As soon as I saw the menu I knew we would regret it. The food was just there, nothing special or great. The drinks were horrible, I ordered a mimosa , called the Tony mimosa and it was not great, my eggs Benedict wasnt that great either. My hubby ordered their signature dish, I forget what its.called but I could tell he wasn't impressed when he ended up ordering the same eggs Benedict I got. I asked him to let them know , he couldn't be bothered and said this was one and done. The worse was the parking situation, no clear direction you park in the garage, we did that and went to get a validation which they did only for it not to work on the way out, I ran back in to ask and they manager refused to help and said I had to have parked valet, I mean who does that.? Anyway I will not be going back, over priced and not good Mediterranean food. read more

This place is amazing. We were stuffed with too much food over the weekend so ate a lite Mediterranean selection. The soups were amazing and beet salad and risotto was all perfect. Spanish lemonade cocktail is a must. Don't skip desert. The lemon panna cotta and chocolate cake is not to be missed. We will be back! read more

Staying at the Mayflower Park and had to try Andaluca. I ordered the paella. I am not a big shellfish fan, but felt like giving it a try. The dish presented very well and looked delicious. The shellfish were cooked perfectly and the spices of the dish were fabulous. The dish delivered bite after savory bite and with the rice and sauce was simply sublime. Service was impeccable, good wine pairing. A very special meal that I will remember for a long time. Highly recommended. read more

I went back tonight since it was only a little after 5 pm and restaurant week. The concierge said there should be no problem as it was so early when I didn't have a reservation. Once at the restaurant (I stay here at the mayflower when I'm here on business), I was informed it would mess up the seating arrangement if they waited on me though it was fairly empty. Unacceptable. A few weeks back I was visiting Seattle. It was a Saturday brunch. I and another person at the table ordered the all American breakfast with the eggs scrambled. The eggs came out rubbery and cold. Another person found a fish bone in their pancakes! Given these "gourmet" dishes are about 15 - 20 $ per crack, this is just plainly not acceptable. Credit where credit is due, the pancakes were taken off the bill. Front of house seemed okay and the ambiance is nice. But to pay so much for such poor kitchen quality, forget it! read more

Great food, great service, and very nice atmosphere. We took our friend just arrived from Japan, long flight, so they were not hungry but like to have small dishes. Andaluca has delicious small plates and served Macrina bread with hummus was just simply delicious. Our server who can speak little Japanese but polite enough to making us relax. He knows what we like to do and how we like to share the plates. We don't need to ask him at all. He just smoothly place dishes and utensils. All the food was fresh and selected ingredients. Hope we could order some sweets to finish but filled with our order. Our friend really appreciated where we took them for dinner. Friday night and party of 7 but it was lucky to get seated together. read more

My husband and I had a romantic dinner date here one night. It was fabulous from start to finish. Our cocktails were perfect and the waiter... he was professional, courteous and attentive. We started out with a few tapas items which I thought were delightful. I started out with a pear salad and ordered the paella. I can't remember what the husband had. Who cares? Kidding... It ended up being a pretty expensive dinner, but we were splurging. I would suggest waiting for the 30/30 promotion so you can experience a three course meal at an affordable price. read more

It was great! I loved the complimentary hummus and bread they served. I accidentally had the paella which had sausage in it. So when I told them I couldn't eat pork, they made risotto for me instead. And it was even better. They would've re-made the paella without the sausage but i didnt want to inconvenience them. Any restaurant that is willing to go above and beyond in a situation like that is always impressive to me. read more
