Andy's is always a really nice spot to come to in Greenport! The staff is always friendly and Andy himself is honestly always there making sure everything is ok. I personally have a gluten allergy and the one time that I ordered when Andy wasn't our server, my meal came out and only the burger was gluten free, not the fries...I asked and he specifically made sure that I was taken care of. We had the fried calamari. Delicious and no tentacles. Crispy and fresh and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are awesome. I had the fried chicken sandwich...omg so good! I got cole slaw on the side it was yummy! My hubby got the sliders which he devoured: pulled pork, hamburger, and fried chicken. This is a guy that doesn't eat unless I remind him! I had a nice sauv blanc from McCalls, he had an ipa from Twin Forks which he loved. Our bartender Chris was very nice and helpful. So happy we tried Andy's on a friend's recommendation. We had the bubble bread which was amazing I wish there was a bit more balsamic but had a great flavor love the atmosphere of the place they give you popcorn in the beginning which is really cute. We went for lunch, to start we had the octopus salad which was tasty, fresh and had a lot of octopus with nice flavor and texture. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich which had a nice flavor and crunch, and the fish and chips. The fish was oily and was not seasoned at all, so was unable to eat much of it. This was our first time visiting Andys. My boyfriend ordered a chicken sandwich and when he took his first bite we realized the the chicken was RAW! They server took it back and brought an other one out. I order a BLT which wasn't good either, you'll see a picture of the tomato's below. Went here for dinner at a prime dinner time around 6 pm. The fried pickles are very doughy, almost like pancake batter and not super crispy like you would expect with a FRIED pickle. The avocado ranch dipping sauce that came with the pickles was more like a chipotle ranch. The nachos were sub par, the cheese was thick and room temp, the beef tasted like it came from a can, and the guacamole was runny. The red peppers on top were a strange touch, I would expect jalapeños on nachos not a bell pepper. I had the fried chicken sandwich, it looked very delicious and it was a good size but after biting into the chicken I found it to be a dark purple/grey color in one spot and very tough and chewy. It was not the dark meet of the chicken, dark meet is not like a rubber disk. The one good thing I have to say is the sweet potato fries were very tasty and the sweet dipping sauce that came with them was Devine. The service was above par and the waitresses were friendly. Andy's is a great place to go with friends and family! We were there on a hoppin Saturday evening and the service was excellent! The food portions are really satisfying. Our group enjoyed the nachos, buffalo wings and soft pretzel appetizers and lots of burgers and salads all around. Poor customer service when it comes to some of the servers, I've dined here twice and was very upset. I've never left a bad review ever on a restaurant but I felt compelled to put the word out there. Tonight I had a server who took 10 minutes to greet us, our hostess had to remind him to greet us. He was very blunt and monotone and said "can I get you something to drink". We ordered apps right away knowing it would take awhile to get anything in a timely fashion. Once drink/app order was placed he then sat up front of house eating like a cow with his mouth wide open where ever guest could see. We ordered our entrees once he came over with drinks, missing several items for entrees and excuse was I think the menu has changed, no notification of this changing. No extra napkins nothing! Our family went to Greenport and just stopped in at Andy's. We couldn't have a better time. The staff was friendly and accomadating. Appetizers of fried calamari, potato shooters and nachos were excellent. Reuben sandwich and pallaird chicken salad were both very good and was large enough to share. We were told it was just thigh meat but I have eaten many chicken thighs and this was very pink, hard and stringy/ rubbery. The bun was smushed. Fries just tasted like batter. I made a reservation for 14 at Andy's for my wife's birthday. We all had a really great time.... everything was just really easy and laid back. We were given a the whole back corner directly across from the bar. The food was good, probably a 3.5 out of 5 stars; some dishes were better than others. Apps were great, nachos, wings and fried calamari; you really can't fail with those. I ordered an Oyster PoBoy, I was very good, and others at our table ordered the pork special, the chimichanga, octopus salad... I think the standout dishes were the chimichanga and he Octopus... Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, drinks were great and came fast; the bar service and table service was really great. The service here was really 5 out of 5 stars, attentive and very friendly. The band was awesome... I forgot the name of the band that was playing but they were great and even sang Happy Birthday to my wife. I made my reservation directly with Andy, who runs the eponymous establishment. He was really nice and made sure we all had a great time.
