    Wild Strawberry Margarita
    Yeni A.

We were in our way to a jam night and I needed to find some fun drinks and food. There is not much around those parts but we were so lucky to have found Angelo's Wine bar! We walked in to a fantastic trio playing amazing rock and ballads and were welcomed by the hostess and bartender. We sat at the bar and ordered the burrata pizza, cheese board and I had the most delicious wild strawberry skinny Margarita. I will order that again and again. It was not only delicious but no bad ingredients - hot tip: they make all their margs skinny! Highly recommend it. Will return. Yeay!

Go for the drinks, but skip the small portions of overpriced pasta. We were really excited to try Angelo's because they always seem busy. After awkwardly standing there, without anyone acknowledging us, we were finally seated. It was later on a Friday. and the staff seemed busy, so we didn't think twice about it then. It took a good amount of time before our server came. Again, it was busy so we didn't overthink it. We ordered drinks and food immediately. And got our drinks in a reasonable amount of time. Our food came out right after and I was surprised by how small the portion sizes were for the price. We ordered the carbonara with shrimp and there were 4 burnt shrimp on top. I'm surprised they let it out of the kitchen that way. Not what we were expecting considering you also had to pay $8 up charge for the shrimp. (We could have said something, but didn't want to make waves and it took awhile for our server to check on us so we decided to let it go.). The carbonara tasted more like a glorified macaroni & cheese. We also ordered the seafood fettuccine which had 3 large shrimp and 2 1/2 scallops. It was ok, but the flavor was lacking something. Service was ok. Ambiance was nice but it was very loud with all the people. I think the experience wouldn't have been so bad if the prices didn't reflect a higher expectation.

    Wine flight $28

We were staying in walking distance and our hosts recommended. First, it was Black so Friday and so not a busy night so the staff was extra attentive which made us feel like family. It was candlelit and cozy but if super busy could see it as loud. Many TVs which are not my thing but I couldn't hear them. The Outdoor seating in nice weather looks like amazing space. GiGi the manager and sommelier was also our server for the night. We chatted several times and she made great recommendations. My husband ordered a glass of wine but I tried the wine flight and it was fun! The wines in red are on the menu are the five wines it comes with. The menu is varied in prices with less expensive sharing plates to more expensive entrees. We had the arinicni (incredible) and stuffed mushrooms (average). We shared the Angelo's pizza special (this crust) which was delicious. They had three kinds of pizza. Thin crust, traditional and Chicago deep dish. For dessert, highly recommend the tiramisu and the French press coffee was hot and strong just like I like it! Thank you GiGi and Angelos staff!

DELICIOUS! Absolutely terrifically delicious! We stumbled upon this place after a few reviews from a good friend and man am I disappointed that we didn't come sooner. There is a wide variety of food options on the menu so you can make it as cheap or as expensive as you'd like. But let me tell you, the flavors are incomparable. I'm not a huge lover of Arancini but I find myself craving them plus the terrific sauce served with it. Highly recommend getting that plus the burrata caprese. I ordered the chicken alfredo which was the creamy american goodness that I was craving. Husband ordered a delicious carbonara. This will be a staple date night spot for us moving forward. Great service and food!

Cacio e Pepe and Pappardelle Bolognese

Visited Angelo's Wine bar for the first time tonight. The restaurant has the feel of a fine dining restaurant crossed with a neighborhood spot. The service was fast and friendly. We started with the arancini which was pretty good but a little bland. The sauce under the arancini was very tasty. My wife also got the Mediterranean salad and said it was delicious. We got the cacio e Pepe and the pappardelle with Bolognese. I really enjoyed both but my wife thought the Bolognese was a bit sweet for her taste. It was my first time having cacio e pepe and I thought it was quite delicious. We will definitely be back.

Came here on a busy Friday night and recommend making reservations because it is busy all the time! We got sat 10-15 mins after our reservation time. Gigi was our wonderful server who was super informative and thorough. She ordered our drinks and food very quickly. I had my chicken Alfredo and it was insanely good! We also loved the tiramisu - highly recommend!

Great music, great wine, good food!

Appreciate when they have live jazz! Enjoyable to have dinner, drinks, and very talented musicians! Food is good with plenty of options and service is fast. The live music is what appeals most to me though and would want to return on these evening when available.

    Calamari!!

Totally surprised by this experience, this restaurant has a River North or West Loop feel. Friendly greeting and beautifully laid out restaurant, I was also amazed by the 70s and 80s music, coupled with classic Black and While films on all of the flat screens. As for the food, the generous portions will make you lament your calorie counting or futile workouts. The servings are that big and the food is great!! The calamari pieces were so satisfying, I would recommend serving the giardiniera on the side - for maximum crispness. The cheesey fundido with sausage was incredible!! You'll be tempted to BYOB (bring your own baguette), it's that good. My skillet was really full of meat and the star of the show was really the pizza - the sweet (fig), cheese, prosciutto (salty) and arugula (peppery) on top of that crispy cracker crust made it an instant favorite of mine. And yes, I ate the 1,500 calorie beignets in one fell swoop. I see that they also have an outdoor seating area - hope to be back soon.

Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."

Maybe going shortly after a trip to Italy ruined me a little lol, but I didn't fully understand the hype. The pasta was good, just not life-changing. I've honestly had better pasta elsewhere in Chicago. The agnolotti was my favorite. I liked the balance of flavors with the ricotta filling, although I thought the roe was a little unnecessary. It could've used a different topping or supplement that complemented the dish better. The pierogies were also pretty good. They had decent flavor and were cooked well (actually al dente, which I appreciated). The sauce itself was good, but it wasn't distributed evenly, so some bites had much more flavor than others. The carbonara was just okay to me. It lacked flavor, and I wish the sauce had been thicker and more cohesive. It broke. I did appreciate that the pasta was properly cooked, but overall, I thought all of the sauces could've been seasoned better. I might come back to try some of the other dishes, but I'm not exactly rushing to make another reservation.
