I was pleasantly surprised with the Banh Mi here at Angiday. Ordered the cold cut which includes a generous portion of Vietnamese ham, head cheese, ham, house made pate and egg butter for $13.75. The Banh Mi is longer than most others I've had and could even been shared with another person with you are a small eater. The bread is crunch and the sandwich overall was tasty and satisfying. Of course, the Banh mi includes veggies like cucumbers, carrots, daikon, etc. Angiday also offers a wide selection of matcha and coffee drinks. I tried the egg cream coffee here today and it was fantastic. The coffee was strong with just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. Strongly recommend if you like Vietnamese coffee. Finally, unlike many other Banh Mi spots, Angiday actually has a lot of seats and tables available for you to sit and enjoy your sandwich. The place is modern and clean. One of my favorite banh mi spots in the city, they're located in a very convenient area - a block from the 7 bus stop and near the main streets of the Haight. I've ordered their cold cut banh mi sandwich before, for the price you would assume it is pricey, which it isn't not, however they make up for it with the generous portions of ingredients. I decided to be adventurous and ordered their Angiday House Special Coffee, which lowkey was strong and a lot to consume during a weekday. I've had Vietnamese coffee before, but this was quite strong to the point that I saved the remaining half for the next morning. I will caution if you're coming here for their banh mi, to call ahead especially during the weekends or if you're cutting it close to their closing time because once we came an hour before they were closing and they were out of bread. I have a new favorite Banh Mi place and it is called Angiday! Was happening by Amoeba and saw this inviting place on a beautiful day! It was packed. I wanted the Fishball Banh Mi but they were already sold out at 1pm. About a 10 minute wait but when I got my Banh Mi it was huge! I'd say about 15% larger than most. Many small eaters might turn it into two meals. I took it to go and 20 minutes later the pork was still warm and fresh. I've tried three of their bánh mì sandwiches so far: the Cold Cuts, Chicken, and Lemongrass Pork. The first thing you'll notice is the price. These are probably the most expensive bánh mì sandwiches I've come across, but you definitely get what you pay for. Every sandwich is generously packed with protein and fresh vegetables, making them filling and satisfying. The Cold Cuts is easily my favorite and the best bánh mì I've had in San Francisco so far. It's loaded with a variety of meats, and every bite is packed with flavor. Nothing feels skimpy about it. The Chicken is another solid choice. The meat is well-seasoned, tender, and flavorful. It's a classic option that's hard to go wrong with if you're trying the shop for the first time. The Lemongrass Pork was the only sandwich that didn't quite meet my expectations. I was expecting sliced or chopped pieces of pork, but it came shredded instead. While the lemongrass flavor was fragrant and aromatic, the juices made the bread a bit soggy. I also found the pork to be less tender than the chicken, so this one wasn't my favorite. I also tried one of their coffees, which was surprisingly good. The cheese foam gives it a unique twist, adding a slight saltiness that pairs nicely with the coffee. It's definitely different from your typical cup of coffee and worth trying if you're looking for something unique. The café itself has a clean, modern atmosphere. Was feeling super hungry after a hard hot yoga session and came here for some eats after. I got the lemongrass beef banh mi and peach orange lemongrass tea. We also got some "tropical rolls" with nem nuong to share. The tea was a bit too sweet and tasted syrupy. Not bad, but I would've preferred more of the natural fruit flavour and sweetness. Next time, I'd probably opt for one of their coffee drinks instead. The topical nem nuong rolls had too much filler with only a thin sliver of meat in each roll. I was confused at first why they were called tropical rolls here, as I'd never seen them listed as such at other restaurants, but I guessed it must be because they contained mango. Was craving Asian flavored coffee and I happened to stumble upon this spot through DoorDash. It's rare to find pandan flavored coffee in SF and I'm glad now I don't have to drive to SJ. Pandan salted cream coffee was stupendous! Fire! Their banh mi hits the spot. It's one of the better locations to grab yourself a combo or grilled pork banh mi around the area here. When you step in you can smell their grill working hard making those sammies. Also their coffees are delicious. Any of them. Honestly. If you've never had vietnamese coffee, you are missing out. I ordered the vermicelli bowl with lemongrass pork, and we had the shrimp spring rolls to share. Shrimp rolls were massive and came in 4 pieces, and the lettuce had a beautiful crunch and was quite fresh (make sure to douse it in peanut sauce!). The vermicelli bowl was so yummy and quite large!! I wasn't expecting so much pork, though I thought it was a tad bit overcooked/dry. I loved the color and all of the sliced cucumbers and carrots--it felt super healthy, light, and filling. Love the food but I don't get why people with to-go orders are allowed to sit during busy times while they hang out on their phones and wait for their to-go orders to be called. If you're here to eat in, you have to wait for them to stand up to sit and eat. Most restaurants only allow people dining in to sit (disability aside), and people waiting to order to stand outside or somewhere separate. For a small space, this is an easy fix. The hazelnut complimented the coffee flavor well, and the cream was delicious! For food, I got the Vegetarian Banh Mi.
