San Francisco weather has cooled down. The San Francisco Summer is over. Autumn has come in full swing. It's the season for comfort food in San Francisco as we Fall back in time in November. My favorite comfort food is soup. I enjoy a good soup and I one of my favorite soup during soup season is Pho Ga. There are lots of great places to grab a bowl of Pho Ga. I have been to many places to grab Pho but I have been late to the party when comes to this spot in the Lower Pacific Heights on Divisadero in San Francisco. The place serves Vietnamese cuisine and comfort food and it's called My Father's Kitchen. I passed by this place lots of times during the day but it was the right time to go inside and try their food. I ordered the Pho Ga. I enjoyed the broth which was savory and flavorful. The cuts of chicken were generous. They served the thicker noodles. Although I prefer the thinner noodles the thicker noodles were fresh and slurpable. Over all it's a good place to grab some comfort Vietnamese food when in Lower Pacific Heights in San Francisco. Come get some comfort Vietnamese in San Francisco if you are cold or "freezin" the prices here are within "reason" and the Vietnamese food is " pleasin" and grab some Pho and blame it on soup "season " There are lots of Vietnamese in the city of San Francisco like Sunflower in the " Mission" and lots of Vietnamese food options in the city providing "nutrition "this place located next door to the " Western Addition " it's in Lower Pacific Heights at " My Father's Kitchen "

This unassuming, hole-in-the-wall spot with nothing flashy--no fancy decor, no Instagram-worthy plating--but simple, comfort food. Eating here is less about presentation and more about feeling warm and nostalgic. Onto the food! Pho is hands down comfort food. If you have a hangover, pho it is. If you are recovering from a stomach virus, pho it is. If it's cold outside, pho it is and My Father's Kitchen is at your service. What was ordered: Crispy imperial rolls: This was ok. Nothing special at it. The wrap itself was nice and crispy however the inside was very bland. The dipping sauce did help but at one point I had to keep on drowning it in dipping sauce to get some favor. Don't waste your money and just order Pho. Beef noodle soup special: This is probably what this restaurant is known for. If you like a bold favor this pho isn't for you. It's more on the lighter side of favor and there's not many condiments that you can add to increase it. But to me the broth was great. It's light on the palate but so nourishing. To me, after a bowl of pho my body comes back to life. Mary's five spice grilled chicken: This was a very disappointing dish. I was surprised at the tiny portion of chicken. It wasn't even two full thighs. It's like they took the tiniest thigh cut it in half and cut the meat out to shape it into a rectangular. It also comes with a mount fiju side of rice. Overall, it was favorless even the sauce didn't help to improve the taste. Don't waste your money just order pho. Price: It's not expensive at all. It's what you would expect from a pho restaurant in San Francisco. Parking: Decent. Meters or free parking in residential area Service: Decent...more of a seat yourself atmosphere. When you're ready to order just look at one of the staff members and someone will come and take your order.

Well I guess I'm not a PHO person. I found this incredibly bland. I mean bland. I added vinegar, fish sauce followed Katsu and nope like weak tea? The spring rolls were very tough skinned and just an odd color for something fried? What happened here? I left with a hefty bill and a server that couldn't be bothered by me or any patron. Was this place really filling up before my eyes? Super UNFRIENDLY like are we keeping you up guys. Location could be a dynamite spot by the hospital but wow See photos and tell me what you think.

Father's Kitchen on Divisadero feels like stepping into a small gallery where flavors and images share the same stage. The walls are dressed with beautiful photographs, frames of light and memory, that quietly accompany your meal like old friends telling stories. Then there are the crispy imperials: golden, delicate, and with just the right crunch to make you pause and admire the art of simplicity. Pair them with a tall glass of iced tea, cool, balanced, and refreshing and the whole experience turns into something both casual and poetic. A place where food and art sit at the same table.

Friendly staff but the food was lacking freshness and flavor. I really wanted to like this place. It's pretty and super clean and the menu was simple, not over doing it with the trifold of dishes. My Father's Kitchen is very inviting. But it was over priced and just ok. The soup had a beautiful rich beef broth but no fresh herbs or sprouts to go with it. And although it's a nice soup, there was no pho flavoring to the broth. (no fish sauce, onion, ginger, star anise, and cinnamon stick to flavor broth) The papaya salad was good but again needed heat and a little acid. It was ok. Fried spring rolls are good but 3 for $12.50? Over $4 per roll? The fresh spring roll are good but the dipping sauce was whipped peanut butter. I couldn't eat it. I thought adding fish sauce and sriracha to it would help, but it didn't t. It needed hoisin. The Grilled Mary's 5 Spice Chicken plate ($14.50) had flavor but it was 2 thin pieces of skinless chicken thighs over a mound of rice. It didn't look or taste freshly grilled. That bummed me out. I was hoping for plump marinated grilled chicken with yummy charred edges. I guess for the location it works. My suggestion, fix the peanut sauce, add another fried egg roll, and grill the chicken to order and toss in some cool garnishes like cucumbers and soup toppings.

Not sure why people like this place. I love eating pho and Vietnamese food but this is by far one of the worst Vietnamese restaurants I have ever tried especially in the city. Guess they are surviving because of their location in between UCSF Mount Zion and Kaiser. The first time I came here was just for an iced Vietnamese coffee. I used my 15min work break literally coming from across the street to get coffee. My drink took my entire break. When I came here for lunch during my work break, I was seated right away in the communal table between strangers. I ordered a small pho ga right away. My food did not come out for some time at least 18mins for pho ga. I saw everyone else around me including those who came after me get their soup noodles before I got mine. Even the guy sitting across from me said my order was taking unusually long and that I should check on it. The guy ordered his pho a few minutes before me and got his within minutes. I asked one of the workers after waiting over 15mins. The cashier girl saw me staring into the kitchen and asked a worker to help me. The lady with the short hair came up and asked what I needed. I said I wanted to check on my order. Then she looked and said just wait, it is boiling. We need to boil the soup first! Then she goes back to the kitchen and I could hear her say, "just checking order" in a frustrated tone. The stranger sitting across me exchanged eye contact with me because we were both shocked at the terrible service. Honestly, Vietnamese places are usually very quick but because of their slow service, I almost ran out of time to eat even though my break was 45mins. My chicken noodle soup was also very salty! It was like drinking salt water with some chicken and onion pieces. What a disappointment! Prices were on the higher side for what they offered. This place eventually got packed. Not a comfortable seating situation, overpriced, and rude service. I definitely do not recommend!

Great pho! No sprouts. I enjoyed Vietnamese iced coffee, very fresh. Pho is amazing! Service is quick, no need for reservations.

Cute little cafe/resturant. The pho was pretty good very standard flavors with no bells or whistles. The broth was clear and had a very clean finish. The spring rolls came with a giant bowl of emulsified peanut sauce which was interesting. The coffee was prepared to order and it looks like they keep a clean coffee bar set up. Nice strong traditionally prepared Vietnamese coffee offered both hot and cold. Staff were attentive and quick. Overall a very nice neighborhood spot for a quick bowl of pho or a coffee.

    2 imperial rolls for $12.50

The broth and pho are about as good as it gets. If solely rating on the food it gets 5 stars. Just a little frustrated with the portion size specifically with the imperial rolls. There are two solid size ones but for $12.50? See pic to appreciate....

I actually discovered Que Viet through DoorDash and had everything delivered. I ordered the Deep-Fried Imperial Rolls (Cha Gio), Grilled Chicken & Chicken Imperial Roll Garlic Noodles (Mi Top Ga Nuong Cha Gio Ga), Grilled Pork Sausage Rolls (Nem Cuon), Vietnamese Shrimp Mini Crepes (Banh Xeo Tom), and the Grilled Pork Sausage & Sliced Pork Woven Vermicelli (Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong). Yes... I spent almost **$100 for two people**. Looking back at the receipt, I had to ask myself, *"Is this place expensive, or am I just fat?"* Honestly... probably a little of both. Either way, it was one of the best $100 I've ever spent. If it's your first time ordering from Que Viet, do yourself a favor and get the **garlic noodles**. I know garlic noodles are everywhere these days, but these completely changed my expectations. They were perfectly cooked with an incredible bounce, packed with rich garlicky flavor, and the portion size was generous enough for leftovers (if you have the self-control). I also tried the **Banh Hoi Nem & Thit Nuong** for the first time, and it did not disappoint. One heads-up, though: it's generously topped with crushed peanuts. My friend has a peanut allergy, so thankfully we caught it before digging in. If you have any nut allergies, be sure to mention it when ordering. Every single dish arrived fresh, flavorful, and tasted like it had just come out of the kitchen despite being delivered. That's not something you can say about many places. If you ever find yourself in the city, you **need** to make a stop at Que Viet. This place has been living rent-free in my head ever since, and I already know I'll be back the next chance I get.

Some dishes were better prepared than others, but overall, the food was solid across the board. If you enjoy making your own spring rolls, you'll love the grilled pork skewers. The pork is super tender and has such a incredible flavor profile of lemongrass, garlic, fish sauce, and more. Rolled up with the woven vermicelli noodles and fried wonton crisps in a rice paper, you get a wonderful combination of texture in a single bite. The other crowd favorite of the night was the bánh xèo -- the stuffed rice crepe. The bánh xèo here is by far the best one that I've ever had, even surpassing ones I had in Vietnam. The outside was insanely crispy and and was surprisingly not particularly oily, while the inside was loaded with fillings. Two other dishes that were well received by the group was the betel leaf wrapped grilled beef and the sugar cane shrimp. The beef had a very similar flavor profile as the pork, but the texture was a lot more lean. The shrimp had a bouncy, yet firm texture to it, and was very well-seasoned. My only qualm with the shrimp dish is that the sugarcane did not actually have any sweetness to it. There's fish sauce on the table along with a shrimp paste sauce, but to be honest, every dish we had was so flavorful on its own, the sauces aren't even needed. The only dish that we ordered that fell short was the grilled river shrimp. The presentation of the shrimp is impressive and very photogenic, but the flavor was lacking and the cook was inconsistent. Some people had shrimp that was undercooked -- borderline raw, and on the other end of the spectrum, others had shrimp that was so overcooked, that it was very difficult to remove the shrimp from the shell without completely tearing the meat. That said, everything else we ordered was well-prepared, and very tasty. Service was good throughout the meal, and I would definitely come back again for a meal with a large group. 4.5 experience rounding up to a 5.

The noodles were fresh and chicken was tender. Overall a great place to grab Vietnamese food in SF. It feels the Fall has already "begun" when there are days in the Summer where there is barely any "sun "and some visitors and tourists get surprise and some are "stun"but you can get something warm like some some Pho along with some "bun" Go to Geary which is a boulevard and not a "street"where they serve lemon grass and bbq "meat" the Summer in SF isn't always sunshine and trying to hide from the "heat"it's also enjoying Pho and garlic noodles which are like Angel hair because An Chi is a good place to "eat"

We stopped by for an early dinner at 4:00 PM on Sunday. Since there was only one other party dining…read moreat the time, the service was quick. The staff were both friendly and attentive; they even jumped in immediately to help another table with a spill, which was great to see. We ordered our usual, banh khot. Although this time it wasn't as crispy as I remembered, more fluffier this time, it still satisfied our cravings. We did have to ask for cilantro though since it didn't come with it. Also ordered the grilled pork vermicelli with egg roll. It was a big portion. It came with 2 pieces of thin but big pieces of grilled pork. The pork and dipping sauce was on the more sweeter side. Still need to try their Banh xeo next time.
