I love banh mi sandwiches and was on the journey to find the best one. I found this place on yelp decided to give it a try. I parked on the street. This place is small more of a grab and go. The menu is short and to the point but has pictures. Prices are extremely reasonable. Service was good and fast. You get a number and you wait. This sandwich was perfect! The veggies were very fresh and the meat was extremely tasty. The bread was crunchy and everything was amazing together. I think this was the best banh mi sandwich I've ever had. I had an amazing experience. I'm definitely returning.

I honestly didn't expect to find a really good bánh mì in San Francisco, but Banh Mi Crunch surprised me. The bread is one of the best parts. It's soft and fresh with a nice light crisp on the outside but doesn't scratch up the roof of your mouth like some places do. They are also very generous with the pâté, which I really appreciated. A lot of spots barely put any, but here you can actually taste it in every bite. It's fragrant, rich, and reminds me of the kind of pâté you get in Vietnam. That alone already puts them above many places. Need to come back every time I'm in sf

Favorite banh mi in the city so far. I've probably tried about 10-15 places or so. The restaurant is family owned and operated. I think the owner and his parents are often the ones you'll see at the register or behind the counter.

The sandwiches were amazing! Full of flavor. The iced coffee was also so good. It's a bit small inside, but there was some high top counter space. However, we took it to go and ate in the park. I'd definitely go again!

Crunch combo with must try Thai iced tea

I ordered the Crunch combo and a Thai iced tea to share since I wasn't too hungry. The crunch combo is delicious and all the meat inside is packed with flavor. The carrots are well seasoned too and it's superb. It reminds me of another Banh Mi place I had a while back in San Jose minus a fried egg. The Thai tea was also the best I've ever had. It was so good we got a second one. They don't use the powdered stuff and you can really taste it! I'll be thinking about that Thai Iced tea for a while. FYI: Space is small! Count on taking your sandwich at a nice place nearby to eat it

Looking for light lunch on Irving and found Banh Mi Crunch. Their menu impressed me for a Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwich shop. So many choices and options. Fresh crispy bread makes a perfect Bang Mi. There can be a line but it moves fast. They take your order and you get a number. Come back in 10-15 minutes. Small store with minimal counter seating inside so we took it to go. We ordered the Crunch combo and shrimp spring roll. The sandwich was very tasty and a nice combination of meat and veggies. Wish there was more pate. But it was still excellent. Bread supremely crispy and soft so good. Spring roll comes 2 to an order. Not bad. Lots of noodles and veggies with just enough shrimp. Delish peanut dipping sauce!! You gotta try

There's really nothing similar between Banh Mi Crunch and Castro Tarts but they reminded me of one another in the way they checked the boxes: Really good food - Check Well-priced - Check Small neighborhood business that I feel good about supporting - Check I can't speak for their namesake Banh Mi because I always get derailed when I see a Vermicelli Salad Bowl on the menu. This time I opted for the "Beef & Eggroll" combo ($15.95) and was rewarded with a freshly prepared bowl of deliciousness which even I couldn't finish completely in one sitting. Here's a secret: Don't finish it in one sitting. Hours later I opened and dug into my box of leftovers which had now had time to marinate in the sauce that comes as an accompaniment. Wow. The meal was good at the first sitting and now the flavors were downright delectable. So if you go for the Vermicelli Bowl, save some for later. But go. For all of the boxes they check and a delightfully big menu containing many worth-your-time Vermicelli Salad bowls.

Delicious banh mi spot that does their meats well! Called in my order for pickup, at around 3:30pm on a weekend they were sold out! - Grilled pork banh mi (5/5) : the meat flavor was on point and a decent ratio as well. The pork was not too fatty which most places are. Bread was nice and had all the necessities (pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, jalapeño)

Really good banh mi and Vietnamese coffee! Not a lot of sitting. Be prepared to wait as it's mom and pop working hard.

A solid bahn mi spot in SF! It's located in a busy area, it took 15-20 min to find parking around 2:30pm on a Saturday. I'd recommend coming early to find parking, otherwise there's more spots after 3pm. It's a pretty small space, with enough seats! I came with my parents and luckily, we beat the crowd before it hit 3pm. It was a 10 min wait and once a line formed, it became a 15 min wait. Lemongrass Beef Sandwich: Delicious! The bread is nice and crispy, and the beef is well seasoned. I do wish there would've more carrots and sauce, but it was great regardless! I'd buy it again. Thai Iced Tea: Love it! Not too creamy or thick, nor was it too sweet. Pork Belly Sandwich: I took a bite from my dad's and it was good! I just prefer the lemongrass beef one. My dad loved it, though! Also a great pick me up if you're looking for a grab and go!

We walked two miles from the Richmond District specifically to try BMC. It was worth the 2 mile walk through the Golden Gate Park. It's a nice menu. There are choices for every one. We chose to have the combination and chicken banh mi sandwiches and the first bite was CRUNCH! The sandwich was tasty, but I could have used another slice or two of jalapenos. The daikon added good flavor. Yum! The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The vibe is positive. We will definitely walk 2 miles again. The problem is ... walking back home.

Perfect quick lunch spot to grab a Vietnamese bite! I came in on a Monday afternoon a little after lunch time and the 2 workers (I believe were the owners) were so sweet and welcoming. Limited seating but I was grabbing to-go. Quick turnaround too! I ordered the five spice chicken Banh mi and absolutely loved it! Chicken was seasoned so well and was so juicy! Baguette was not too hard, fillings/toppings were portioned out well. I do wish there was a bit more spice to it but that's just a me thing. I definitely will be returning to try their other menu items!

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.

While I didn't get selected for tickets to the PGA Masters Golf Tournament, that's not going to stop me from making pimento cheese sandwiches at home. Sandy's sells this in a cup, pint, and I believe a quart size. I got a cup ($9) of their pimento cheese, and paired it with milk bread at home, and it was so tasty. Great texture, slightly spicy, really solid pimento cheese. A cup was enough to make 3-4 sandwiches at home. Great staple to have for a quick lunch at home. Egg salad, I got the pint ($16), this was really solid too, although I added some additional salt and pepper to taste. The pint is great for family, easily can make 5-6 sandwiches with the amount of a pint. Honestly a cup order would've been good for me. Egg salad is one of those things I don't want to make myself, so thankfully Sandy's sells theirs lol If you are looking for an affordable way to make tasty sandwiches at home, and like egg salad and pimento cheese like me, definitely worth checking out to satisfy the craving. They have them packaged up for take home, so was able to get in and out in less than a couple minutes.
