Food: I ordered the combo #3, which comes with a tender topped with pickles on top of a piece of bread and one slider. The slider is one tender and some slaw between two pieces of hamburger buns. I wish the slider would be a different size of chicken such as a chicken breast and have more of a meat to bun ratio. I ordered medium and it definitely had a kick. Medium isn't for those who don't like spicy! The seasoning isn't just all heat, but also carries its own flavor and salt. The chicken is tender and juicy. Also, the fries are so good! They are salted enough, but seasoned enough as well. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. It is mostly mayo that didn't have taste. Service: I called ahead and they took down my order. When arriving, I picked up my order and the workers weren't really engaging. She told me there is extra sauce and honey to help myself to. When I looked into my bag, there wasn't any napkins or fork, so I had to get my own. Small things like not providing napkins, etc. go a long way toward customer service. Overall, I think ~$14 is steep for only two chicken tenders and fries. The chicken tenders aren't the biggest, so in terms of bag for your buck, your dollar doesn't go too far here. If it was cheaper, or they provided another tender, then it would be worth the price. My advice, slide another tender in that slider. read more

If your into spicy chicken sliders aka chicken sandwiches or straight up chicken fingers then your in luck. Medium spicy has a minor kick but you can ramp up your taste buds by ordering extra spicy to get your tongue flapping. Btw the bread portion is freshly made and tasty with pickles and fries. I got the #1 which came with two sliders and fries which I think is the best combo. We also got the #2, #4 combo the angry fries and Mac n cheese. I think next time I'm here I'll get the #4 with the buttery rice and two chicken fingers and the highest heat and sign the waiver. The place is clean and sodas are refillable. Sorry but the public notices changes as I read your reviews. This was my go to chicken spot since it opened. I tell everyone to go there ..not daves or copycats.. Unfortunately I walked in the other day only to leave without eating. My simple request to put my coleslaw on the side turned into them wanting to charge me $4 EXTRA...All I wanted was the slaw I was already paying to be put on the side. The staff in this place was the greatest. Now all new staff - in order to keep your existing customers your new staff still should be hospitable and make easy accommodation. Maybe owners have changed....None of the staff is the same. I walked out and didnt eat....imagine the amount of customers they turn off that dont come back and dont write review. I like spicy food, and if you tell me an item is hot, it bloody well better be hot. I'd much rather you warn me and then make me hurt than warn me and serve me some diluted sriracha mayo foolishness that has no kick. Well.... I was warned. I walked in for dinner at midnight, hungry and half asleep and somehow entirely missed the section of the menu that explains the heat levels. The guy asked how hot I wanted it and I responded "If I cry then you win". He asked if I was sure and I smirked and said yes. When he served me my Combo #3 he asked if I wanted plastic gloves and I thought "Homie, I know I'm white but did you think I was 6 year old girl??!!" I would regret that arrogance. The meal I had here is without question the hottest thing I've ever eaten. And I can say that with confidence because my body responded in a way it never has before. In fact in a way that I never knew was possible before. I'd had spicy food burn my mouth and make my head sweet and give me the hiccups. Having spicy food burn my booty on the way out just comes with the territory but I have never eaten anything that was so spicy that it made it hurt when I peed!!! I was stunned. I was in pain. We arrived at around 11PM. There was a light crowd, but there were still lots of tables to choose from. We looked at the menu for a little bit and decided to split the $13 medium heat Combo #1 (comes with two "chicken sliders," coleslaw and fries), an order Mac & Cheese ($3) and "Angry Fries" ($7). I think the last part is where the order went left. The cashier was clearly a bit frazzled while we were ordering. Other diners were asking questions, food was being brought out from the kitchen, and he just looked like he was overwhelmed. In fact, I had to repeat that we wanted to upgrade the Combo #1 Fries to angry fries (fries with chicken tenders chopped up, special sauce and coleslaw on top) multiple times. We finally made it through the ordering process and the order was called about 8 minutes later. Our order was all boxed up, even though I asked them to prepare it "for here." So, they dumped it all out on a tray. Then I realized the fries were just dusted in angry seasoning and not actually angry fries. So I had to get that corrected too. When it was finally time to eat, I was a bit disappointed in the "angry fries" I'd went through all the hassle for. Instead of giving us a new order of fries, the previous fries that were given to us were dumped into a bowl and used for the base of our "angry fries." So they were extremely spicy. And to add to the unpleasant experience, the fries were lukewarm, but more on the cold side. The Mac & cheese was very creamy but not very cheesy, epic let down there. The "chicken sliders" that come with Combo #1 are really just a chicken tender on a bun with coleslaw and pickles. The flavor of the chicken and the meatiness of it was good, but there was just too much bun to chicken ratio. I had about half my bun left over after I ate the half of my sandwich that had chicken on it. Not a bad place to go if you're in the area. We're on a mission to try all the fried chicken sandwiches we can, so naturally Angry Chickz was a stop on the list. The fried chicken sandwiches were juicy and the slaw was great. Medium was the perfect spice level for most of us, but it does have a kick if you're not a fan of things that are too spicy. The idea of a combo with 2 sliders and fries made us think that the sliders would be small, but they're almost normal-sized. Keep that in mind if you're not that hungry, as you might just opt for a slider and fries instead of a combo. Minor gripe, but we wished that the fried chicken came in a shape that matched the bun more closely. The chicken was a flat strip, like a tender, so it seemed like an afterthought slapped between buns rather than something made for the buns. Tried the Medium Hot Sliders w/ Cole Slaw and Fries for only 12 bucks which is a steal considering you get ALOT of food! Just hot enough to give you that tingle without the serious burn -- and the crust has the most amazing spice blend. (Small complaint -- I didn't like their special sauce (Mayo based) they put on top -- takes away from the chicken flavor). Next time will request without. Large portion of fries that comes with the sandwich also on point. I heard they are opening their 2nd location in Van Nuys soon. So, while strolling down Hollywood Blvd and getting hungry, I came across Angry Birdz on my yelp bookmarks and figured I'll give em a try! Location: Located between Thai Town and Little Armenia along the north side of Hollywood Blvd. They have their own parking spot in the back of the building but there is also plenty of street parking available if needed. Atmosphere: Cute little restaurant with limited seating but nicely decorated and overall very clean. Food: I chose the Combo number 3 which consists of One Chicken Slider and one Chicken Sandwich and a side order of French Fries. Both Sandwiches were ordered one level above medium called the perfect heat. I did enjoy the sandwich over the slider and preferred the sauce, the coleslaw and pickles on the sandwich compared to the lonely slider. The spice level was to my liking and the french fries were fine. This was overall a very large portion for $11 and no complaints here. I would not say that I would become a regular at this joint, but their chicken is really good, imho. Verdict: 4.5 Stars, clean restaurant, friendly service plus reasonable priced food. I'll be back! The best of the "Hot Chicken" joints that I have tried in LA. The chicken tenders are crispy and tasty without being overwhelmingly hot (although you can choose that as an option). The combo (the #,4 I believe) with Rice, Slaw and Pickles is a nice balance of flavors, reduced fat -and good portions. The staff is usually fast and considerate, but I notice they gets busy around 5 pm (Thu, Fri & Sat) with pick-up for delivery services and you can end up waiting a bit. Try it and compare. read more

Saw this place after driving past it a few times and decided to finally give it a try. We went with a combo #1 and two combo #2's. All of us are spicy food eaters, but before we ordered the person helping us out warned that "hot is spicier than most places" and to start off with something with less of a heat level. There were only a couple more people in the restaurant so we didn't wait very long for our food, which was great. So what's the verdict? My two friends enjoyed their meals. Spice level wasn't as hot as warned. It was spicy, yes...but nothing too insane. My personal opinion, and this seemed to been a lonesome one as my friends disagreed, and said it looked like my order just wasn't up to par with theirs. I didn't like that the batter was sliding off of my chicken. The spice, yes, it was spicy (hot was fine) but it didn't have that delicious kick with seasoning. The chicken itself was bland, considering I got to taste it without the batter. Also, the bun was too oily, but this happens at a lot of these fried chicken spots. Overall, I think they have some kinks to work out. Considering my friends orders were decent, and mine just had some issues, maybe I just got unlucky. I liked the Medium, and the Chicken Slider is a generous portion and was piping hot (temperature-wise). Fries are crinkle-cut and slightly seasoned/spicy too. The restaurant space is small, there's only about 5-7 small tables and once the line gets long, it can be a bit of a tight squeeze. They have a TV inside, which is nice, but can mean longer waits for people to clear tables if a game is on. Their restroom light was broken and was slightly unkempt...If I am comparing to Howlin' Rays, Angry Birdz is a shorter wait but their chicken is not as good, but will suffice if you're wanting a quick fix. Ran into another patron outside asking us how we liked it since he originally wanted to go to Dave's but the wait was too long. I generally do not like Fried chicken, but have been obsessed with the hot chicken craze that's been flooding LA's market. So far I found that Daves and Howlin Ray's were the best but both have been trumped by Angry Birdz. Holy hell was this place awesome. There was both ample parking on the street as well as behind in a private lot and we were welcomed the second we walked in the door. The restaurant itself is small, but cozy and not that busy since its new. I believe it was the owner who took our order and I went with the combo of tender and slider while my friends got different things. I had it with no secret sauce since its mayo based and I hate Mayo. Fries-- pretty good with a nice spice to them. They were fresh af. Tender- The tender was moist without dry powder but the perfect combination of breading and flavor. Slider- Literally cant even. I usually dont each much of the bread cuz of carbs but holy snikies was the bun they used absolutely delicious! Between that, the pickles, delicious not overly mayo'd cole slaw, and awesome chicken, I found it to be the BEST that I have had. I will say that Dave's having cheese on their tenders is the only thing I will give to Dave's over this place, but overall, this was much better! The prices are also incredibly reasonable as well! I now rank this number 1, with Daves being second, and howlin third. If they added cheese to their mix then I might have to move back to LA or at least visit more often. read more

The "slides" are about half again as large as what I was expecting, and an order includes two. I wish they had more close slaw, but that is the only thing I would have changed here. The fries that come with your sliders? They're slightly spiced too - not overly greasy either. Loved the small condiment containers of the mayo-based sauce & honey.
