Was visiting a friend in Masa Arizona and decided to live a little and indulged in the Angry Crab Shack. OMG this place is awesome. I have tried a few places like this, but was never impressed. Our waiter was great. He explained how to order to our liking and he was spot on. I ordered crab legs and shrimp with Trifecta sauce and the mild "wimpy" spice which still left my lips burning (LOL), but is was a good kind of burn. The flavor was unbelievable. The combination of crab and huge shrimp made a great tasting sauce. I had so much gunk under nails but it didn't matter cause it was delicious. They have a big kitchen sink in one corner for you to wash off and clean your nails which I appreciated. I will definitely visit Angry Crab Shack again when returning to Arizona. read more

We normally patronize and Angry Crab Shack that's further away from us. We learned through a delivery app that we actually have one closer! That's it! Easter dinner is served! Non-traditional to say the least! The menu is a bit pricey, but we wanted to have an array of different items to share. At $3.99 a bowl, the clam chowder had good quantity and was decent. It was a little peppery for my taste, but was a creamy, filling addition to our meal. I didn't taste a lot of clams in there, mostly potatoes. However, the soup tasted hot and fresh. The menu available for delivery is a bit different from their normal in-store menu. That said, many of the items that you have to get are either fried or grilled. Mr. P ordered some fried oysters. For the price, you get six tiny fried oysters, which was a bit disappointing. We also ordered the clam strips. Now this quantity was impressive. They were a bit overcooked though, and called for a little bit more chewing! A creature of habit, I got my favorite alligator nuggets. These were extremely salty, and a little bit difficult to eat. About half of them didn't seem fresh, and were chewy as if they were twice-cooked. The accompanying french fries were also very salty. I don't know if everything was put in a bag with salt and shaking up together, or what. I don't think that I was prepared with the drinks necessary to wash some of that sodium out of our mouths. Yesssssss. Finally had time to stop in for a meal. I'm not sure when the busy hours are but Sunday lunch is a pretty good time to slide through here. We were seated quickly and the hostess was very nice. Our waitress came over an took our drink orders almost immediately. The menu has a great selection. I recommend the shrimp with trifecta sauce, angry wings with trifecta sauce medium, the calamari was crispy and had a good amount, the mussels were good with the Cajun sauce, and the snow crab was awesome. Yum yum. We ordered the Family Feast and a pound of Head off shrimp for pick up. Both orders had the mild Trifects sauce. The friendly order taker said our order would be ready in 15 minutes and it WAS! Every thing was in plastic bags loaded with delicious sauce. It was easy to take out and place on platters, poor the sauce on and around. The family Feast was part of the October Seafood month so it was special pricing. Everything came to about $160. We had lobster, several types of crab--whole and meat-filled legs. There was also sausage. Seasoned corn and potatoes. It was so filling that the four of us never touched the lobster and half a pound of shrimp until the next day The food was tasty BUT the pound of shrimp was just a BIT too salty for me. They wouldn't exchange the head ON shrimp for Head OFF even if we paid extra. I still gave 5 stars for overall quality, quantity and their COVID compliance. Someone takes your temperature at the door which is wonderful not invasive. Wtf wants to be sick picking up delicious food? We will definitely go again and order by the pound. read more

So I'm angry. Perhaps if I had ordered the special, one of the boiled seafood feasts in a bag, I'd be more pleased with my dinner. But now I'm just glad I didn't waste any more money. My fallback, whenever I go for seafood, is the Fried Shrimp. So I decided to try it for my first visit. Now I'm not sure there will be a second. The seven shrimp were smaller than the breading implied, flattened out so they looked bigger. The breading was fine, but I wanted shrimp. I subbed Sweet Potato fries for my starch, and had cole slaw as my veg. Not the healthiest, but I don't splurge on these things too often. The cole slaw was OK, just needed some pepper. The dressing wasn't sweet which was a bonus. But the Sweet Potato Fries needed another minute or two in the fryer. The small pieces we just about done, but the larger ones were hard in the center. My husband order the Dozen Raw Oysters. He said they were tasteless. He did say that the Gumbo was good, but if there was shrimp or crayfish in it, he didn't find it. The Unsweetened Ice Tea was acceptable, having only sugar and Sweet 'n Low available was not. No Equal or Splenda. That's just cheap. No salt & pepper or hot sauce on the tables. Had to ask for pepper, but the waitress never came back to be asked for hot sauce. She was young, and she tried. Hope she also finds a better restaurant. The restaurant was also very noisy. One BIG room. And the birthday celebrations made me want to ditch my hearing aids, which I needed to talk with my husband. For the price you can get some NICE steak at a much classier restaurant. For $150 we got two potatoes, two corns, and some crabs. Drinks are $3.50, that's almost movie theater pricing. The calamari appetizer we got was actually really good, not too chewy and overcooked like other places. We will not be back because of the prices.
