First time at the angry crab shack. Heard it was good and it was. I had the jambalaya and my wife had the fish and chips. The jambalaya was very good, would have liked a slightly larger portion. Been coming here since day one. Quality of food has declined substantially, ordered shrimp and they were undercooked, rice hard, etc. Service is even worse than the food. Servers have attitude and are inattentive. Going to skip Angry Crab for a bit. Hope they pull it together. read more

Yesssssss. Finally had time to stop in for a meal. I'm not sure when the busy hours are but Sunday lunch is a pretty good time to slide through here. We were seated quickly and the hostess was very nice. Our waitress came over an took our drink orders almost immediately. The menu has a great selection. I recommend the shrimp with trifecta sauce, angry wings with trifecta sauce medium, the calamari was crispy and had a good amount, the mussels were good with the Cajun sauce, and the snow crab was awesome. I really enjoyed my experience today, I definitely recommend this place. Cant wait until my next visit. read more

Yum yum. We ordered the Family Feast and a pound of Head off shrimp for pick up. Both orders had the mild Trifects sauce. The friendly order taker said our order would be ready in 15 minutes and it WAS! Every thing was in plastic bags loaded with delicious sauce. It was easy to take out and place on platters, poor the sauce on and around. The family Feast was part of the October Seafood month so it was special pricing. Everything came to about $160. We had lobster, several types of crab--whole and meat-filled legs. There was also sausage. Seasoned corn and potatoes. It was so filling that the four of us never touched the lobster and half a pound of shrimp until the next day The food was tasty BUT the pound of shrimp was just a BIT too salty for me. They wouldn't exchange the head ON shrimp for Head OFF even if we paid extra. I still gave 5 stars for overall quality, quantity and their COVID compliance. Someone takes your temperature at the door which is wonderful not invasive. Wtf wants to be sick picking up delicious food? We will definitely go again and order by the pound. read more

So I'm angry. Perhaps if I had ordered the special, one of the boiled seafood feasts in a bag, I'd be more pleased with my dinner. But now I'm just glad I didn't waste any more money. My fallback, whenever I go for seafood, is the Fried Shrimp. So I decided to try it for my first visit. Now I'm not sure there will be a second. The seven shrimp were smaller than the breading implied, flattened out so they looked bigger. The breading was fine, but I wanted shrimp. I subbed Sweet Potato fries for my starch, and had cole slaw as my veg. Not the healthiest, but I don't splurge on these things too often. The cole slaw was OK, just needed some pepper. The dressing wasn't sweet which was a bonus. But the Sweet Potato Fries needed another minute or two in the fryer. The small pieces we just about done, but the larger ones were hard in the center. My husband order the Dozen Raw Oysters. He said they were tasteless. He did say that the Gumbo was good, but if there was shrimp or crayfish in it, he didn't find it. The Unsweetened Ice Tea was acceptable, having only sugar and Sweet 'n Low available was not. No Equal or Splenda. That's just cheap. No salt & pepper or hot sauce on the tables. Had to ask for pepper, but the waitress never came back to be asked for hot sauce. She was young, and she tried. Hope she also finds a better restaurant. The restaurant was also very noisy. One BIG room. And the birthday celebrations made me want to ditch my hearing aids, which I needed to talk with my husband. Most of my reviews have been positive, but when I'm so disappointed, I can't help but vent on Yelp. read more

Angry Crab is our favorite place to eat in our area. We go to Angry Crab at least once every two weeks since they opened this location a few years ago. Due to COVID they operate at, probably, 1/3 to 1/4 the capacity as before so expect longer wait times. Obviously, we have come here A LOT and we have never been disappointed. First time at this location. We were seated quickly. Tammy was our server. She was attentive and friendly while she was on shift, then hand off to another server wasn't so smooth (luckily we were done eating and waiting to pay our check). Definitely recommend their 'bags'. Never have had a bad meal here. Don't recommend going higher than 2 on the spice level unless you can handle super spicy. We normally go with level 1 and trifecta sauce. Yum! read more

Ordered veggies in our crab boil. Cauliflower had mold on it. Complained and they said it's because of the boil and we were like that's not from the boil that's mold... When we received our check they told us they gave us a discount... A whole $0.80. Not that I'm trying to get discounted food but that's disgusting. Definitely not coming back and I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to eat old food and get sick. read more

For the price you can get some NICE steak at a much classier restaurant. For $150 we got two potatoes, two corns, and some crabs. Drinks are $3.50, that's almost movie theater pricing. The calamari appetizer we got was actually really good, not too chewy and overcooked like other places. We will not be back because of the prices. It's fun to experience a boil but you could drive to Vegas, get an all you can eat seafood buffet, and drive back for the same price. read more

We waited 45 minutes in anticipation of a great meal. It was an ok meal. We ordered clam chowder which was a huge bowl of mainly cream and veggies with a bit of clam. The salmon I ordered was grilled perfectly and seasoned nice. But it was very small portion. I guess they figured the soup made up for it. Upon arrival to the Angry Crab Shack location in East Mesa, AZ, I was met with a strange, brackish smell. I assume it may have something to do with the restaurant being a seafood restaurant - shrimp, crab and crawfish. I can't say that I've ever met the same smell at the S. Alma School location. The server was enthusiastic and attentive, and all of the servers of the restaurant were attentive and helpful in providing drink refills. The food came out as it has on multiple visits to the Angry Crab Shack at S Alma School, flavorful, hot and yummy. We lucked out and came right before the dinner rush. This location has a large bar at the center of the restaurant and looks like a great place to enjoy drinks while waiting for a table, or for dining. read more

He obviously did not want to wait on us because I could not get him to come to our table while he was on his cell phone the whole time we were there. Won't be back. Food was good but not going to put up with rude wait staff that's on their cell phone while supposedly at work and did it behind the bar so customers can see. read more

If I could have gave it a zero stars I would have. Yesterday 6/6/21 my family and I decided to have dinner there after spending a long day on a boat at a lake near by , long story short it was the WORST treatment I have ever experienced at a basic establishment. My 6 year old BLACK daughter got some of the HOT sauce in her eye and as she is panicking and crying TWO of the WHITE employees (female & male) decided to stare at the table and LAUGH about it instead of being helpful. My waitress saw and heard the commotion and immediately assisted with some ice And cold napkin to help the best she could as she was doing that she told me she apologized on behalf of her other co workers because she saw them laughing and it upset her too and she was going to speak with her manager about it and after that she would let me speak with him, I witnessed her pulling the manager PAT aside and informing him of the situation but instead of addressing the situation at hand he came over to the table holding a lobster asking the kids if they wanted to pet it trying to completely ignore the situation. I stated no my children do not want to pet the lobster are you the manager , he replied "yes is there something you needed ". I told him of course there was something I needed which was to speak with you about the way your employees treat your customers the same conversation I saw my waitress have with you . He replied " I'm not sure what your talking about I'm not aware of any incidents but I'm sorry if you feel your experience was bad we normally don't treat people like that " . As he leaves the table I saw him shrugging and smiling with the same 2 employees I was complaining about and shouted "they're ready for the check ". At that point I was extremely furious and asked PAT to give me the phone number/email for corporate because that is extremely unprofessional, upsetting as a human to see a child being made a mockery , and definitely showed that CLEARLY BLACK LIVES DONT MATTER as we were the only family of color there . I come to this location many times and never has it rubbed me the wrong way until now. I have never used Yelp to write a review but this time, I feel the need to say something. Let's start off by saying that this restaurant has great tasting food. I have nothing to complain about in that department. What I do have to complain about is a couple of the staff that work there. I was here a couple days ago. The ladies in the front are always warm and welcoming. They always ask how we are when we walk in and always say the warm words on the way out. The servers Lita and Karla are absolutely disgusting. I happened to catch a conversation at the bar that they were having about the girls in front calling them names and talking about them. They proceeded to call a "Ciara" a b**** for "supporting" the front. I'm guessing this is a higher up but this rubbed me the wrong way and I proceeded to drink my drink hoping that eventually they would stop bad mouthing the only nice people in the building. Here I thought it was going to get better with the hope of them stopping, no. They continued on with another female server and two male servers about how terrible the girls were in the place. Unfortunately, I paid for my wife and I drinks and will not be returning to this location. To the managers of this restaurant, I would highly recommend having a meeting with the servers discussing that it is not okay to talk about coworkers. In a professional environment this is not appropriate at all! It's unfortunate that the four servers were bad mouthing in a "friendly" environment. To the customers, I'd advise you to go to any other location besides this one. The servers here are rude and need some adjustment. read more

I recently move to the Guadalupe location and was looking for decent fried fish. When I tried the cod basket I was in heaven. It was the most delicious fried fish I ever had and made it my weekly destination I looked forward to each week, until they changed the cod and replaced it with a "better " product that no way matched the taste and quality. The new cod looked and tasted like an average frozen fish dinner. I switched to their catfish basket which was not bad, but I miss the old cod. Please bring it back. read more
