The fries were out of this world! I love the salty but lemon flavor when I took a bite out of those french fries. The lobster was great, cooked perfectly. It was truly a fun place to be at and be prepared to eat with a bib around your neck and using your hands as if they are utensils! (They do provide stuff to break open the seafood). It was beyond busy but the service was phenomenal and Keyle was by far the best waitress I have ever met in my entire lifetime​. She was friendly, funny, and personable. Excited to have a Angry Crab Shack in the north Phoenix area! Been to the location on 32nd and Indian school one other time . Needless to say I was ready to devour on some crab meat mixed in ghost sauce and for the main meal I had the catfish strips. Fresh tasting crab meat and catfish. The Cajun fries were a winner ! Tasty Angry Crab Shack gives new meaning to the word casual. The formica topped tables are covered with white butcher paper, people eat with their hands, and writing on the walls is not only allowed, it's encouraged. Angry Crab Shack has a team restaurant philosophy, food is delivered by the first person closest to the kitchen when the food is ready. I enjoyed ordering off Angry Crab's Menu. You pick your main course, which is sold by the pound. Then you pick your sauce, next you choose how spicy you want your entrée . The boil bag is brought to your table and everything is finger food. That's right, no utensils. You even get a rock to bash your crustaceans.  Thankfully a plastic bib is given and be sure to wear your bib, because you will need it. The prices are reasonable and food is very good. You should give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

We got 1 lb crab legs with Cajun seasoning, mild spice, twin lobster rolls, hush puppies with ranch. My crab legs were absolutely delicious. A joy to eat. I decided to get mild spice so I could still taste the crab a bit. It was perfect. They also cracked the claws which was nice since I'm in a hotel room and don't have any silverware. This was a hands only affair. My husband said his lobster rolls didn't have much flavor. The hush puppies were DELICIOUS but unfortunately they were raw inside. I used to work in a catfish restaurant in Tennessee so I have a lot of experience with hush puppies and these tasted much better, but they were not done. I really hate that because the hush puppies could have been the best I've ever eaten, but they need to be fully cooked. I would order from this restaurant again but I think I would stick with the crab legs and ask for the hush puppies to be well done. read more

My family has loved Angry Crab Shack for years so we decided to try this new location last night because it's close to where we live. It took the host about 15 minutes to seat us, not because there was a long wait or no tables, but because he didn't know how to multitask. The lady who was waiting for an online order before us even told him to help us first and he just looked at us blankly. When we finally got seated it took the waiters some time to get our drink orders. We also had 2 waiters which is weird because there were only three of us and we didn't order much? Our first waiter spoke very quietly and we could barely hear him. Our second acted like she didn't care at all. I think the downfall of this place is the customer service. The waiters seem inexperienced and don't know how to treat their customers well. When we got our food, we were a bit disappointed because our shrimp were headless (we asked for head on) and the sauce was just so thin. There was a huge lack of flavor. We were also not given bibs, gloves, lemon, salt, and pepper until we asked so we were annoyed as well. The one good thing about this restaurant was the older lady that came to help clean off our table. She was so kind and energetic and she's the type of person this place needs to keep business! Came for the first time several weeks ago with a friend and I have no idea why I haven't been sooner, considering how close one of the restaurants is from my home! I realized that I never had cajun style seafood before and it was so delicious! We got 1lb of whole shirmp, 1lb of crawfish, an a snow crab cluster to share. For the sauce we got the trifecta which is a combination of lemon pepper, cajun, and garlic. The sauce was BOMB! I loved every bite of my meal and cannot wait to go back! read more

This was not the Angry Crab dining experience I expected. The table service was inattentive and forgetful of bringing utensils, condiments, wrong order and slow in refill beverage service. The food was good as expected. I know this restaurant recently opened in the past few months so the service staff have much too improve. The staff was seemingly friendly except when we called out her name to ask for utensils 15 min into the meal as eating the crab claws is impossible unless cracked-- she replied 'I was wondering who was yelling my name'! This place just opened up a month or so ago and my wife and I checked it out for the first time last Thursday for happy hour. I was so happy to see they have raw oysters at a very reasonable price They have $2 pints of domestics. Lee, the bartender is fun and very attentive to your drinks and food. She really makes the atmosphere very inviting. The food was great including the hush puppies! Yummy! We have found our new favorite place for happy hour! See you there next Thursday! UPDATE! Wife and I came here when it just opened for the day. No one there so we were seated immediately. Server came right away. She was very high energy for so early in the day yet very nice and informative. I didn't know they served the main meals in plastic bags so different experience. Really good and for being in a land locked state, fresher than I thought. The sauces were really good too. They have a kick and we got the mild one. Love AngryCrab. This is my first time at thIs location and seriously? What a let down. My salad came out with the expo ticket IN THE LETTUCE! Then my entree came out as soon as I got my appetizer. Not only did they not brinG my anything to open my crab with (crackers, scissors, the works) I had to wait almost 15 minutes for anyone to come by, at that point my crab was cold. I understand they're somewhat new so hopefully they're able to work out the issues between the back of house and front soon. I ordered hush puppies with a side of trifecta three sauce - wrong sauce came out but Julie (waitress) insisted it was correct. The manager said he mistakenly made the wrong sauce. Ordered crab and it came out with the smallest legs I've ever seen. The meat was stringy and shredded (a sign that it's old or has been frozen, thawed and refrozen) and...they were on the cold side. The sauce was super salty and the flavor missed the mark. I'll continue to visit the Mesa location but this isn't even worth a second try. The manager, Chris didn't care about the situation at all. Seemed like a busy Sunday night. Sat in the bar area with my son. Service was great. Manager continually checked if everything was good. They didn't have a lobster under 2lbs so they gave me a larger lobster for the same price. My son enjoyed the shrimp and the onion rings were fire! Our 2nd visit today at 1 PM; no one at the hostess station so we sat at the bar. We sat and sat waiting for service when someone arrived we were given menus then told he'd be back. No request asking if we wanted drinks. We were about ready to walk out when he came back and took our order. Drink order was wrong, but food was good. This is in stark contrast to our previous visit when service was very good. If this had been our first visit, it'd been our last. Sad service for a restaurant at lunch time. read more

I'm so glad I found this location. The seafood boil bags are one of my favorite things to eat and this location in particular is very consistent with their excellent food and service. My man and I come here once every couple weeks or more and we have never had a bad experience which is extremely rare for us... we enjoy eating out but have found that it's difficult to find both great service and food. The onion rings are some of the best I have ever had especially with their creamy ranch. The hush puppies are also delicious and they have a little kick. We typically get live crawfish when they are in season but now we've been into snow crab with shrimp, the trifecta seasoning, medium heat. Also pairs great with corn, potatoes and their bread to soak up all the yummy juices! I believe it's the manager but the gentleman with the mustache and I think glasses is such a sweetheart. Angry crab used to be my favorite place for catfish because it's close to my house. But recently I have been so disappointed. I tried to place an order through GrubHub and when I was ready to go pick it up they called me and said my order was canceled because the restaurant was closed. I called the restaurant and either the line was busy or they would pick up and hang up. So I drove over to the restaurant only to find out they were open. I saw the staff picking up the phone when it rang and hanging it up. I'm not sure if they're just short staffed or what but I certainly hope they get it together and become the great restaurant they used to be. read more

I have been to several of the Angry Crab Shacks around Phoenix and was expecting a similar experience when coming here. Ordered oysters and wings. The oysters came out small and pathetic. They should have never have been served. I mean, quarter size. Strike one... The wings came out cold... strike 2.... We would have left then but we had already ordered the food when we got the appetizer... The fried cod was ok but not delicious. Sat under the heat lamp while the server helped someone at the bar... strike 3. Long and short is that we won't be coming back. Not all shops are equal. We didn't see the usual happy customers seen at other stores. A bad place with bad food. I'll drive further to get the product I want. read more

The fish and chips were great. We used a delivery service and this was the only good part of our meal (getting hot fish and chips). The lobster roll was a toasted roll with lobster thrown on it - not a lobster salad. The side of red beans and rice was mushy and greasy. Overpriced for bad food. read more

My husbands favorite place when we come to Scottsdale. A good variety of seafood. The shrimp and sausage are very good, as well as the green mussels! Friendly environment. I would have liked to taste more flavor from the sauce, we got garlic and cajun and the shrimp tasted like just cooked shrimp not like they were infused in the sauce. (2/24) I'm the only one at the bar. And there are maybe 2 tables. The bartender is super sweet super attentive and of course my meal was great. BUT there is a server (red hair, glasses) I first noticed her because she turns the corner (I'm sitting at the end of the bar by the wall and menu screen) she turns the corner and just belches SO loud. I was absolutely disgusted. From there she is literally screaming at the top of her lungs talking to the employees that just came in. She is in the corner behind the end of the bar singing again SO loud. I was about to either ask to move or take my food to go. Truly wild. Again, service, food always on point. Went on Valentine's Day for dinner. First time at this location. I order as usual i Do, shrimp in mild hot sauce, I had hard time pilling them off it was a work out. Next day I star cramping with the worst abdominal pain and having diarrhea , it was Friday night today is Wednesday and still sick and can't hold any food, I'm a pescatarian and it never happened to me before! I totally understand it was busy night , all staff members were very overwhelmed with non stop flow of crowd and safety control of preparing and handling food were lacking. I was sitting facing the Server station and the kitchen, observing every single employee, and I was already alert even before consuming my dinner. The baser young Man for sure needs a raise :) he was working very hard and fast. My wife loves seafood and has been wanting to try the Angry Crab Shack for awhile so I took her out for her birthday. We loved everything about the experience. Just tried this place today with my family for the first time. Waitress was awesome and clearly explained how everything works. We ordered shrimp and crab boil w sausages and corn on the cob. I must say that not only was the shrimp and crab very good it was the 2 different sauces that put it over the top. A coconut curry sauce and the 3 way combo sauce is to die for.
