My 1st experience with this place and I most likely will not return. We called in an order for lunch and when my co-worker went to pick it up the order was messed up. I ordered the catfish basket with a side of mac n cheese. I got 2 sides of mac n cheese and no fries. My co-worker who had also ordered a side of mac n cheese was told they ran out but she could substitute. So she got the corn bread which they charged her extra for! Then she gets to the car and there is no cornbread, that they just charged her for, and she had to go back in again. And the mac n cheese that we had such an ordeal with was the nastiest mac n cheese I've ever had. Food was decent. However service was horrible! Not worth what I paid AT ALL. We waited 40 minutes to be seated (ok, expected) then the server took a while to take order. We order snow crab and after quite a wait, it came to us COLD as if they pulled it from the fridge & put it in a bag. We told the server who agreed it was very cold. He put the food back in a bag & said he would go have them fix it. We waited again a long time after which our bag came back (missing some of the crab) and it was STILL COLD! We told the server who was too busy to be bothered by it. We were told we could have another one, but we had already been at the restaurant for 2 hours and did not feel like it was worth it that point. The shrimp was okay, nothing special. We then we're charged gratuity for a party of 6, however our sixth person was my 3 year old daughter who did not order anything except a scoop of ice cream. Consequently, the server forgot the ice cream and after the THIRD time of me asking for it, she got it about 15 minutes before we left & by then she was tired, didn't eat it and it melted and went to waste. I was so disappointed. I've been to other locations and was always loved the food. I took my adult son out for dinner and ordered extra shrimp because I knew we would love it. I ordered 3 lb shrimp, 2 orders of sausage, cord and potatoes in mild sauce because "they were out of number 2 so it was mild or Habinero hot. The food was tasteless and the shrimp were mushy. We left 1# of the shrimp uneaten. The hostess brought some more spice which helped a little with the flavor but I couldn't get past the soft, mushy, pasty shrimp. I did let them know and they mildly apologize and gave me a slight discount-still expensive dinner for two with a couple of beers over $70.00. Contacted the Saints backer club that organizes the game viewing events at this location. I'm a Bill's fan but my fiance was born and raised in NO. Wanted him to watch a game with his fellow fans. The organizer of course noticed my profile pic with Bill's attire and actually mentioned to please wear NO attire as this is not a Bill's backer bar. I will say the Bill's backer bar we go to has never discouraged my fiance from wearing his Saints attire there. First strike. We went to this location last week to watch the game and I wore black and gold, while carrying my Bill's coozie Never was greeted by anyone from group except for the organizer mentioning some garage sale items that were available to take away at half time. Second strike. I was shocked at the lack of fans, energy and excitement for the Saints. Maybe 30 people and when a good play happened mainly claps, a lady opening/closing an umbrella and some cheers. Third strike. Overall, a very bad experience for a Saints backer bar. Now I know why they say Bill's are some of the best fans! My backer bar has tailgates, squares, raffles with Bill's swag, cow bells, friendly and welcoming people, restaurant packed to capacity and an energy you can't deny. I'm shocked Angry Crab continues to allow this group use their location. Can't see how they recoup the money for their NFL package. I actually saw another post with a similar situation, spouse was for another team. It was also suggested they sit in the bar area...seriuously?!?!? We are adults and should be able to sit with our Saints family, in the Saints section, wearing whatever attire we choose. As long as we are supportive and respectful, which we are! Won't speak too much on food as I only had the hush puppies. I'm a avid seafood lover, and was referred to check angry crab out. I ordered the catfish basket with bbq beans and a lb of shrimp. The sauce I picked for my shrimp was the Trifecta with a medium spice level. The shrimp were overcooked, which you could barely taste the flavor. The catfish was also overcooked, and was overly breaded. The bbq beans were ok, nothing to write home about. I was highly disappointed based of the reviews i heard from others giving this place much praise. Our server was excellent, but that is my only positive thing I can say. read more

The serving staff and atmosphere are the saving graces of this place. Good music and very attentive, polite and professional staff. However, I've been eating Cajun food my whole life and I can only describe what I had here as extremely disappointing. First they brought me the wrong drink, but since the drink they brought me was going to be my second choice I didn't mind at all. Except the drink was awful. I ordered the boiled crawfish, Kajun style, and while the meat itself was good, they were either not purged properly or not purged at all; they were drenched it what could only have been unseasoned canola oil and had no real flavor to them. I would not order them again. My boyfriend tried the soft shell crab basket and, again while the meat was good, there was no flavor to them and the cornbread coating was far too thick. We had the hush puppies which weren't bad, but also weren't special. The gumbo left much to be desired. Overall it felt like a meal prepared by someone who had never tasted real cajun food in their lives opened up a third-hand cookbook and did their best to make everything taste as main stream as possible. First time stepping into the Angry Crab. I've not once ever been to a restaurant like this. Closest I've ever come was Dave's and it's not authentic. I do know, however; about the different types of boils. Food lover much? It's not so good for those of you who come in by yourself. The tables are catered for those who come in a small group of 4-6 but none the less I was able to get a table at one of their more busier times of day. The food was delicious. Every piece of meat perfectly cooked. I was warned about the spiciness scale. Medium hot was a little too hot for me, and made it hard to enjoy my baked beans. Left with a slight stomach ache after that, but I'm a "wimp" in regards to spice so next time it'll have to be a zero. Potato salad perfectly complemented my brisket and ribs. Did not care much for the beans though. They taste much like chili beans baked in cinnamon. They might have been more enjoyable if I had not ordered my meat a little spicy. Service was a bit scattered when we arrived. Ordered wine, received glass with a lipstick stain on it. Advised our server of this, and he told us that this was due to a new bartender. Umm, no. It's due to the glasses not being washed! Prior to our food arriving, a new server took over our table, and he was fantastic, and apologetic about our previous server. Honestly, the first guy wasn't that bad, but seem a bit overwhelmed by everything. The restaurant is pretty loud, but kudos to our 2nd server, and everyone else that was checking on our table. While I think this is a great place and recommend it to everyone, I only gave it four stars because the dungeness crab was yucky and there's nothing fresh on the menu - like a salad or vegetables. It's only shellfish and fried food. Nonetheless, if you haven't tried this place you gotta. I used to have my food seasoned trifecta, but I just realized that the original recipe is even better.
