Firstly the food here is delicious, the reason for my 3 stars review is they are SO CHEAP with the shrimp. This bowl was $16 and they only put 6 small shrimp- look at the HUGE thing of sauce they give, like for what!? You didn't even put 1/2 lb. You'd be WAYYY better off getting 1 lb of peel and eat shrimp and just doing it that way. Now I know for future, it all tasted delicious, I'm just still hungry- such a little amount of shrimp. I'll NEVER order this again!!!

Fried fish is my favorite and I was pleased to try Angry Crab Shack for the first time while in Arizona. I ordered online, the price was reasonable and the staff were friendly. Plenty of outside and indoor seating. Family friendly. The meal itself was delicious. Catfish tasted fresh and not slimy. The highlight was the sauce, I believe I had the Cajun mayo sauce. It was perfect. You get one fillet of fish so I would not recommend to share, but this was a great restaurant. Thank you

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon and was seated right away for a table of one. Service was prompt from the front door to my server Nita. I tried the lemon blossom drink which was sweet and flavorful just how I like my drinks. Main choice was the king crab and I added 1/2 lb shrimp without the head, 1 sausage. 2 eggs, 2 corn and 3 potatoes. I maybe have gone a little over board haha but left overs were just as tastee on day 2 as it was on day 1. The cajun and garlic sauce were the right choice for me with very very mild spice. My craving for a boil was satisfied and I will be back again.

Major food coma, my first time ever trying seafood boil

Went for lunch with my girls and we had a positive experience overall. Love that they have a lunch option for the crab and shrimp boil. The flavors were on point, I ordered the trifecta hot, perfect if you like spice. The server was a bit introverted but still nice and accommodating, goes to show that a good server doesn't have to be all up in your face to do a good job. I finished the whole thing and I was in a good coma. Will be returning for lunch!

We love Angry Crab Shack, and with the rising cost of seafood, they have one of the better lunch menus with entrees starting as low as $8.00. My wife and I both ordered the shrimp boils, $10.00, which comes with 1/2 lb. of shrimp, corn on the cob, red potato, and a soft drink, a really great deal. Their lunch specials are available Monday-Friday from 11-3, and in today's economy, the Angry Crab Shack's lunch menu is a really great value.

first off: amazing lunch deal here!!! the shrimp and crab combo for $20 was more than enough to split between two friends and not be overly stuffed. we added hard boiled eggs and got the sweet potato fries too. bill ended up around $37 which is SO reasonable for seafood boil and i will definitely be coming back for another lunch deal! the service was quick, the staff were so sweet and because it was a wednesday afternoon, it was pretty chill and empty inside. the food came out so fast and we had an absolute blast. the trifecta is the best sauce for sure and we got it hot -- could definitely stand to go spicier next time!

Ready to make a mess!

I was craving a seafood boil for my birthday so we walked to Angry Crab for lunch today. They have a nice $15 lunch special that included 1/2 lb of crab legs; 1/2 lb of shrimp; a potato and a small ear of corn. It was the perfect size lunch for me (plus a lot of extra shrimp to take home). It's messy but it's yummy. They weren't busy at all today- service was excellent and everything was piping hot and the right spice level. They did bring me cake and ice cream and sang (really loudly) for my bday. Fun! Good choice and we will be back!

I was taken care of by Katie Sue--she was attentive, checked in on me a few times over a couple of hours. The food was delicious, and the drinks were great. I ordered a Michelada, and the mix was really good. They would have gotten a four star review if I didn't had to ask for the sausage side I order that they missed. Also I asked for extra gloves from Ben and instead looking over his shoulder looking for Katie or of just passing the request along, he went back and got them for me--great teamwork!

Green Lip Mussels and Scallops

I always have a hard time eating her because I'm not a crap/shrimp/lobster person, but I do enjoy scallops and mussels, so that's what I got in my steam bag. I feel like the mussels always come out overdone and it's so disappointing because the seasonings are so good. The scallops were great though. Clam chowder was good, nothing to ride home about, but that spicy edamame was amazingggg!! Service was good, no complaints there. And it's a very casual place to go out to eat. I was in my yoga pants and a tank top after hitting the gym and didn't feel like I was out of place at all. My family got the crab legs and lobster and said all of it was amazing. Definitely add the potatoes and corn to your bag! They both soak up all the flavors so nice and the potatoes are cooked perfectly. I love that they started bringing out these metal bowls to empty the bag out in now! So much easier and way less of a mess. Also, no more rolls of paper towels and they actually have a napkin dispenser, which I can appreciate.

Awesome seafood boil place! Great flavors ! And amazing service people that go above and beyond! Definitely recommend !

Angry Crab Shack Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Angry Crab Shack

If you have Crawfish why don't I see them on the menu here?

They have a seafood chalk board over kitchen that lists the per pound price of the available seafood including crayfish.

For the bags do you have to order a full pound or can you order half pounds?

Our seafood is available by the pound only. We do not offer half pounds of any of our seafood items.…

Are they serving crawfish yet?

Yes

Does anyone know where the shrimp, crab, actually all the seafood is from?

I've been told the crawfish are shipped in from Louisiana still alive. They are frozen when out of season though. As for the rest of the shell fish, I'm not sure. Sorry.

Sorry for the confusion. Is the seafood flown in or delivered alive daily/weekly. I have had live seafood delivered to me, and I have done airport pickups. I wanted to know if the seafood is alive when it comes or frozen?

Most places that are not close to the coast are flown in frozen or brought in chilled, also some places that are on the coast are also frozen. Companies try to save overhead cost of fresh seafood, which is why a lot of companies buy frozen instead…

Does anyone know which of their sauces has the least amount of salt? I am on a low salt diet for health reasons and want to try and keep it as low as possible - considering it's seafood.

I would think 1 of 2, either the traditional which is usually old bay or lemon pepper. I would think they could adapt for you!

We recently discovered a corn allergy in our family. Which of your rubs and sauces do not contain corn based ingredients? (Meaning no corn syrups, xanthan gum, corn starch, corn based sweeteners)

Honestly I don't know. I've only been there once.

Do they take reservations?

Yes!

Hello, I was wonder if any of your food is or could be modified to be gluten free? Gluten free…

There are GF options for sure. I went with my girlfriend who is GF, and she could eat the crab legs and potatoes and had some of the sauces too.

What kind of gumbo is served there?

seafood with sausage

I would definitely recommend this spot for an eventful dinner or a great date night. The Food & Drinks: We ordered the red snapper served with a side of whole carrot and the sea bass served with a side of broccolini. The fish was incredibly fresh, light, and flavorful! To top it off, we ordered a classic margarita on the side, which paired perfectly with the meal. I already need to go back just to try the other specials on the menu. The Ambiance & Service: We made a reservation ahead of time to be safe, and we were seated immediately upon arriving. We visited during the transition from winter to spring when the evening air was a bit chilly, but they had a heater placed perfectly near us to keep everything warm and comfortable. The service was top-tier our food arrived in a quick 12 to 15 minutes after ordering. Logistics: We used their valet service for the car, and just like the rest of the night, it was prompt, professional, and effortless. Money and time well spent.

UPDATE 2026…read more Bluewater is our new favorite seafood restaurant. We went last Wednesday for HH and the bartenders are a fantastic team. They run a very professional bar. The service we received from them was next level. The kitchen did a great job too. I got the fish and chips with walleye. It was flaky goodness paired with crisp and salty fries. I washed it down with a couple smoked old fashoineds. We left with a satisfied smile.

Came here for lunch recently with a family member when we were in the area…read more After looking over the menu, we decided to start off with the grilled Spanish octopus to share, and I had gotten a cup of the New England clam chowder. The Spanish octopus was alright. The clam chowder was flavorful and not too salty; definitely made it into the top three clam chowders I've had in the state so far. For our main entrees we ordered the New England lobster roll and the gemelli pasta with shrimp and scallops. The lobster roll was flavorful but felt like it was missing something. The gemelli pasta tasted a bit bland for my taste buds, but the family member I went with really enjoyed it. Since we always have room for dessert, we ordered a crème brulee to share. The crème brulee was nice and not overly sweet. Overall, service was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and the food arrived in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is quite spacious with nautical décor throughout which gives off a comfortable and relaxing vibe.

Say hello to your new favorite downtown restaurant! Wow, where to begin?…read more Service was amazing - they even printed out a small card with our reservation name on it which was presented on our table. Such a cute touch and very thoughtful. Our waitress was super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The spot is small and chic. It's very intimate dining so you'll be sitting close to the table next to you. Luckily, it's a quiet and calm space, so no need to worry about noise. The food was incredible. The salmon crudo was possibly the best crudo I have ever had in my entire life. So fresh and the flavors were balanced to perfection. The risotto changed my life... it was so delicious I couldn't even believe it. The only thing I would recommend skipping was the octopus tostada - not my favorite and a little fishy for my liking. Personal preference of course! The duck tasted great and was beautifully presented, but it wasn't my favorite. Again, I'm not a huge meat eater so take my advice on this one with a grain of salt. Overall an extremely romantic and special meal.

To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.
