Had such an amazing time a few weeks ago for my birthday! We didn't choose the prix fixe, but instead did a la carte. This is a tapas place that is Italian inspired. As a party of two, we ordered 2 apps, 1 salad, and 1 pasta. We had the Peruvian scallops crudo which were refreshing and paired nicely with the Tom Kha sauce. We also ordered the bravas potatoes, which I say are a must here. It's different from a typical bravas potatoes. Here they mandolin the potatoes into thin slices and stack together and then fry in a large stick. You receive 4 of these so they can be quite filling. Loved the crispiness and the sauce that it was paired with (not as large as some IG posts present them as). The gem salad was also very good; not overly saucy. For the pasta, we ordered the bucatini. The bucatini tasted very fresh and the short rib ragu was so tender. I've never had ragu in a vodka sauce so it was interesting to have this dish. I absolutely loved it. We ended the night with a pistachio tiramisu! It's definitely a shareable dessert. Not overly sweet and had the perfect amount of coffee and liquor in it. As it was my birthday, the restaurant gifted us with an additional dessert, flan! The flan was this perfect dense dessert with a hint of citrus. I could not stop eating it. Great tapas place off strip. I've been to EDO years ago and this is a spin off. The ambiance is nicer than the Spring Mountain location. We were a big group so we ordered a lot of dishes. My favorite was the lobster crostini with squid ink! The octopus was great too. My main dish of scallops were just okay. They had a great bikini appetizer as well. Some had fish, some had beef, some ordered more of the lobster appetizer because it was really good. The service was amazing as well. read more

Congratulations to Chef Oscar Amador and Chef Francesco Di Caudo for being nominated for James Beard Award Best Chef: Southwest 2023. Chef Oscar Amador also made it as a finalist. After hearing about the nominations Anima by EDO made it to the top of my list of local places to try. The menu is very enticing but I have to go with the Chef's Tasting Menu whenever I have a chance. It was a great choice and at $80 a nice price and I also added the 2 supplements ($18 & $19) for a 10 course tasting menu. I actually entered from the back parking lot into a door with the suite number on it down a hallway past the restrooms and kitchen to the main dining area. We actually went early so it wasn't too busy and it is a nice cozy restaurant. We started with an amuse bouche complements of the chef. I forgot what the first one was but he second was a gazpacho enclosed in a type of gel which looked like a giant olive and was excellent. Justin & Joe were so great! This restaurant is off the strip but it was well worth it. We ordered almost everything off the menu and it did not disappoint! Every dish was elevated and reminds you of comfort food but it an in elegant way. You get a perfect bite each time. We got the smoked hamachi, crudo, brussel sprouts, carpaccio, brava potatoes; bone marrow pasta, whole fish, braised short ribs, tomato bread with huge anchioves, and caviar! Oh & the oysters! I don't often go to restaurants with tapas because I'm never sure if I'm going to be satisfied with tiny portions. This place did not disappoint, although there was only 2 of us. We started with some bread with tomato and anchovies. I thought I was going to get anchovy spread with the bread, but we got 4 anchovies instead... which is great because I love anchovies anyway, but not what I was expecting. The menu did say 4 anchovies... I just thought 4 anchovies were in spread form... anyway, I have no one to blame except myself for the confusion... haha We ordered patatas bravas, foie gras terrine, and washugyu beef tartare next. The foie gras terrine was our favorite out of all the items we ordered. Last, we ordered the duck and foie gras agnolotti and Dover sole. Duck and foie gras agnolotti came out with some nice presentation and the flavor was good. The dover sole was my least favorite because it didn't taste fresh and texture was kind of dry. Anima by EDO is a tapas restaurant located a short drive off the strip. We had reservations and was seated when we arrived. The waiter was very helpful with the menu. From drink recommendations to helping balance out the tapas palate, we were very pleased with all of our selections. For a cocktail, I had the Ketel One Peach and Orange Blossom Moscow Mule and it was so refreshing! It had a light and summery taste. My husband had Gorillas In The Mist, which was bourbon smoke-infused at the table side with banana and hazelnut flavors. It was absolutely delicious! We ordered several tapas: Catalin Olive Oil Bread with Homemade goat buttermilk ricotta, tarragon oil -- 10/10 Atlantic Octopus -- 8/10 Caponata Croquetas -- 9/10 Truffle Cavatelli -- 10/10 Mushroom Risotto -- 10/10 Yes, we are truffle fanatics! I love, love, love this restaurant! I've been here three times, and each visit makes me appreciate it even more. The food is consistently unique and delicious, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is both beautiful and comfortable--perfect for a date night or a night out to catch up with your bestie. One dish I always order is the Green Tartare. The vegetables are perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, and the creamy, tangy dressing ties it all together. I've also had the bread, patatas bravas, and croquettes on previous visits--all amazing. This time, I tried the Peruvian scallops and the truffle cavatelli with bone marrow, both of which were absolutely incredible. We ended our meal with the deconstructed key lime pie, which was the perfect balance of tart and sweet. The Big 700... no not how old I am :P but 700 reviews and I am excited to highlight another great establishment. This joint had been on my list for a while now (so many good things to eat in vegas... I know foodie world problems to the max) but I was finally able to make a reservation on a Sunday evening and head over for a meal before a very chaotic work travel week. This joint is located in a plaza set of buildings right off of Russell rd. I almost didn't even know where to find it as it was tucked away in between regular business and next to an apartment complex. There is abundant parking for this complex so no worries about that. I absolutely adore the interior of this place too... loved the kitchen and seating layout and loved how they had different staging areas for kitchen items, the bar, and then items such as the bread. The service from top to bottom was phenomenal and the quite efficient. The place is fusion of Spanish and Italian dishes and they use high quality ingredients throughout their meal. Their menu is broken down by cocktails, charcuterie, cold appetizers, hot appetizers, pastas, entrees, dessert, and they also offer a degustation tasting menu that the entire table needs to participate in. For the meal, we ordered multiple rounds of cocktails, all of them fantastic. I particularly liked my AMF and the presentation it came within a box even if it was a bit pricey. For food, we ordered the Catalan olive oil bread with fresh tomato as we were obsessed with this when we were traveling in Barcelona years back. We ordered the Beef tartare, the bravas potatoes, pulpo croquettes, the whole Mediterranean dorade, the special pasta they had that day with short rib, and the mizuna pappardelle. The bread was just like I wanted and delightful. The beef tartare also packed a ton of flavor and loved the chips it offered on the side. The Bravas potatoes was fun as it came out as a breadstick and the side dipping sauce was good. The pulpo croquettes was presented well, packed with flavors and again nailed it with the sauce on the side. The whole Mediterranean dorade was good. It was my first time trying this type of fish preparation so I will candidly say I had to adjust a tad to it but quickly grew fond of the dish. I can see it being a hit for folks who love this style and love seafood (im more of a meat lover :) ).The pastas were delicious. Loved the pasta and the way it was cooked and the short rib one especially was fantastic. The parpadelle had the PERFECT egg that accompanied it. Loved the pasta as well... the one nitpick here was that it was a tad over salty.... But still it was such a small hit for an overarching wonderful meal. This is a great place. We started the year off with a tasting experience for the soul at Anima by EDO in Las Vegas. Not to be mistaken by Anyma at the Sphere, an entirely different experience. When it comes to fine dining, the food is the star, but the experience is performed by the people. @animabyedo hit all the marks. The food was amazing, the tasting menu well priced, and the portions were great. We barely made it through to the dessert. The evening highlight was laughter and smiles with BJ and Joe, our waiter and sommelier. The night was well worth the 30-minute trip from the Vegas strip. The caviar egg was a revelation. Like, how do they even get that much luxury into one little bite? Each bite made me feel like a tax evading billionaire. Aged carpaccio - it's like they took beef, gave it a fine wine, a personal trainer, and then laid it gently on the plate. Melted in my mouth. Smoked hamachi with foie gras - what mad genius thought of this? It's like they decided to pair up a supermodel with an oil tycoon. Smoky, buttery, ridiculously rich. I felt like I should have been eating it on a yacht. And the pork neck. Holy hell. Tender, juicy, and packing more flavor than a soap opera. Sad it's leaving the menu soon though! Not sure I would say we had a good time here. We really couldn't enjoy because the waiter at the table next to us was extremely loud and too talkative. It was our anniversary celebration and we decided to double date with my brother and SIL since we both were visiting in Las Vegas. The place wasn't busy and we got seated, then shortly after another group party of 4 got seated right next to us. Oddly there were other tables they could have been seated. So every time the waiter came by, which was a lot, he had so much to say with his volume turned up and he came by a lot and would stay for 5+ minutes at a time. We couldn't even hear ourselves talk to each other because the waiter was that loud. It even seemed like he got louder each time and we would get annoyed at him even commenting "dude we can't hear you" or "must you be so loud?" Obviously the waiter must have a hearing problem because he didn't get the memo. At the end of our dinner, I tried to find the manager, but he wasn't available. I complained to the guy in the front about the waiter of table next to us. I wish I said something earlier to get moved or complain about his volume because it was much better during dessert and we didn't need to shout over him to hear each other. It wasn't like it was busy. No other people were in our section, just the two tables. The table next to us was pleasant and normal when the waiter wasn't around. Their waiter was TOO MUCH! If it weren't for the loud waiter at the table next to us, I'd fully recommend this place. Our waiter was great. Even took in my food allergies into consideration. Food was great. It would have been nice if the manager came by and asked how we were doing because that waiter next to our table didn't give us the experience we hoped. read more

I recall last year's tasting menu being better. The pasta chef departed (I went to his restaurant Basilico and the pasta is better there); the sage butternut squash pasta was amazing but the crab one wasn't as good as the one from last year. Anima by Edo is definitely worth a visit! I've been here probably 5 times already :) we've taken friends when they were in town. We've also celebrated some work accomplishments here! Caviar eggs -- an absolute delight. They're rich and creamy, with the right amount of saltiness. I'd pick these for my last meal, no hesitation. The texture just melts in your mouth. Each bite is a little taste of heaven. I wish I got more but caviar is expensive :') Smoked hamachi with foie gras -- the dish is super interesting. The sweet sauce drizzled over the top perfectly balances the savory flavors of the hamachi and foie gras. It's a flavor explosion that makes you savor every single bite. I only wish there were more pieces! Dry-aged carpaccio, hands down one of my favorite dishes from anywhere ever. Sometimes, I just pop in for a drink and this dish alone. The pastry's crispness combined with the creamy filling and the aged meat is beyond fantastic. It's rich, it's flavorful, it's unforgettable. We ended up ordering two whole servings because one just wasn't enough. The restaurant itself has a great vibe. It's fancy but not too much, just the right level of sophistication. We absolutely love EDO tapas so you know we had to try Anima. It is in an unexpected location in spring valley, we struggled to find it the first time but figured it out in the end. The interior is super chic and modern, they have different stations located throughout the restaurant for the specific menu items. WOW O WOW! This place was amazing. Had the Anima vegan experience and every dish was INCREDIBLE. The chefs here are magicians because you get chefs who can cook these elaborate non-vegan meals but can't cook simple vegetable dishes? This always boggled my mind. But these guys/gals are talented AF. Why is this place not a Michelin star restaurant? I don't know. Been to many vegan restaurants all over the world, including 3-star Eleven Madison. This place beats it! Brought my sis for her 50th, and as a non-vegan, she thought it was top notch also, another world traveler when it comes to food. The sprouted cauliflower was yummy, the duo of bites, the fresh and warm pasta pacchieri, saffron risotto...even the non/alcoholic Riesling. Ambiance - the vibe was cool, really chill. Semi-dark, pretty intimate. Nice place overall. The WHOLE STAFF is very welcoming and inviting. Service - The wine connoisseur was very knowledgeable and timely. The server was polite. We didn't feel pressured, super friendly and gave off a calmness. Food - my bf and I did the tasting menu, and he upgraded to the wine pairing (I don't drink so I passed on that) also we did the upgrade on two courses. We enjoyed 3 out of the 10 courses - the gnocchi, the artichoke salad, and the smoked hamachi. Everything else was underwhelming and mid at best. We just had higher expectations. My bf got a really good buzz, and it was a fun 2.5-3 hr experience though. It being my first time doing a tasting menu, I would happily do something like this again, just elsewhere. About a week ago or so, we checked out Anima by EDO for dinner because we had heard so many good things about the restaurant from friends. Anima by EDO did not disappoint as we had a wonderful & delicious meal from the Gluten Free Tasting Menu! Besides the GF tasting menu, you could also do a regular tasting menu, vegetarian or a vegan tasting menu. I did also order the Truffle Cavatelli (not GF) which was delicious! We first visited Anima shortly after they opened and it was great. Our second visit was also very good. We ordered a calamari roll off the specials menu, which was delicious. The lobster crostini had a squid ink aioli which wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The ricotta gnocchi was terrific! The gnocchi was light and fluffy, the sauce wasn't overpowering, and the mushrooms and bay scallops added just the right texture and flavor. We also ordered olive oil bread and the carrots/beets appetizer. The amount of food was just right for the two of us. Our server recommended 2 cold appetizers, 2 hot appetizers, 2 pastas and 1 entree. This would have been way too much food! Not to mention, most appetizers range from $16-25, pastas around $25, entrees range from $32-44. Portions are tapas-sized so this can add up quickly. They're located in the Gramercy, most of the parking directly in front of the complex is 1-hour but there's a lot on the north side, closer to Russell, that we parked in. read more

We've always wanted to try Edo, Anima's sister restaurant, on Spring Mountain, but we were trying to avoid the crowds in Chinatown. We made reservations for Anima, as the menu looked very similar. We had a hard time finding it, as it is part of The Gramercy apartments. We walked in and we were greeted and seated, and the friendly staff went over the menu. They offered a Summer Tasting Menu for $60 pp, which is reasonable, but we opted to order ala carte, as we wanted to try a wide variety of dishes. Waiter suggested 2 orders from the cold apps, 2 from the hot apps, 2 entrees, and 2 pastas. But we branched out on our own. Heres what we got: Green Tartare $14. Light and fresh with zucchini, avocado, green bell pepper and pistachio vinagrette. Hand Chopped Beef Tartare $22 Really tasty and seasoned well served with Sunchoke chips 30-Day Dry Aged Striploin Carpaccio $19 Wow, really fresh and light. Loved the little puff pastry the carpaccio was laid on. This is a must get! Kaluga Caviar and Eggs $18 (We actually ordered this off of the tasting menu, as it wasn't on the normal menu) Really tasty and extravagant. Loved how they served it in the egg shell. Cured Tuna so fresh and tasty. Must get Peruvian Scallop Crudo $19 Super fresh and incredibly tasty. The scallops were sweet and light. One of our fave dishes. Andalusian Carrots and Golden beets $16 Super fresh and loved the earthiness of the cumin with the tartness of the meyer lemon yogurt. Potatoes Bravas $10 Really filling, but so tasty. We loved the crispy exterior with all the tender layers of potato inside. Squash Blossom Tempura $19 Squash blossoms were filled with whipped feta. It was good, but a little bland. Octopus $25 Super tender and flavorful. Braised Short Ribs $34 Braised to perfection, tender and juicy and loved the homemade gnocchi. It is a fun experience to do a bunch of small plates but a lot of dishes were solid but nothing was amazing or would make me crave it to come back. I was surprised at how many dishes I took a bite of and didn't want to eat anymore. Service was good I would have like to have more dishes at one time instead of spacing them out one at a time since we were mixing ingredients from plate to plate to try and make it more exciting. *** This review is for the Restaurant Week 2022 Menu *** Dining solo, I opted to sit at the bar which turned out to be a great idea. I had super service as well as a chance to watch Joe, the bartender, as he made drinks. We also chatted about how we each ended up in Las Vegas. It was a pleasant addition to a great meal. I had made my choices from seeing the online menu. Everything was on point and was quite different than anything I have had before last night. I started with the crispy baby artichoke salad. Simply excellent and an auspicious start This was followed by truffle cavatelli. I ordered the bone marrow supplement. Joe scraped the marrow into the dish and then mixed it around to flavor the sauce more. It was a wonderful dish. The main course was chicken--round circles of chicken on a bed of potato mousseline with spinach and pine nuts. Another winning dish! Ending this feast was granita--strawberry shaved ice accompanied by a popcorn mousse. The strawberry flavor was intense and so enjoyable. The popcorn mousse was a good counterpoint for the sweet strawberry. This was a pleasant start to Restaurant Week. Service and conversation could not have been better with Joe. I have enjoyed EDO in Chinatown and noticed this location when searching for a Friday dinner spot after shopping nearby. The host says this location is Italian focused. We were lucky to have found open spots at the bar. The bartender (Alex?) made me a Gorilla in the Mist bourbon cocktail that was perfectly balanced. Yay to Friday night! My husband enjoyed a perfectly cooked octopus paired with paprika aioli. He rarely liked any aioli but this was an exception because it's not garlic forward. I had the green goddess salad with avocado cream that was creamy but light. Moving onto the entrees. Let me just say, I was blown away. Normally it's a hit or miss whenever I order pork. Restaurant often overcook/season the protein. The Iberica look tasted buttery, flavorful, and juicy. The potato cubes were sinfully complimentary. It's like an elevated thick cut fries that's perfectly crunchy on the outside and starchy on the inside. If the pork was then yin, the branzino was the yen. My husband's fish fillet was flakey, delicate, and flavorful. We finished the night with pistachio tiramisu with coffee gelato. Yummy! We decided to go to this place super last minute and all reservations were taken! So we just showed up at 5pm right when they opened and we were super lucky that they were able to accommodate us on a busy Sunday night! I went with two of my girlfriends and decided to order a bunch of things and share it among each other so we can get a taste of everything on the menu! We chose a bunch of appetizers and a few entrees! This restaurant is definitely on the pricier side and the portions for everything especially their entrees were a lot smaller than what they are priced for! - Catalan olive oil bread: we ordered this bc it literally was staring at us in the eye as we sat on their chef's table! It looked very appealing but when we tried it, it was just okay. However, you can add more things to it like anchovies etc. We just got their regular one with olive oil and salt. - Green tartare: i love the little cracker that came with it! Compliments the flavor of the appetizer! - Bravas potatoes: it's their take on fries but make it bougie lol. I really liked this appetizer, came with three long pieces. The dip reminded me of sriracha Mayo. - Lobster crostini: came with three pieces! It was good but I didn't even taste squid ink aioli that's supposed to come with it. Lobster pieces were fairly sized tho! - Atlantic octopus: personally, I wouldn't order this again. It was just okay for me. It did come with big slices of octopus and the presentation was nice! - Truffle Cavatelli: my favorite!!!! This one is super good and very tasty! But, portion was super small even for one person! - Ricotta Gnocchi: It was good! Pasta was perfectly cooked and scallops were fairly sized. But the taste didn't have a wow effect. And the portion is super small as well! - Granita: recommendation from our server as it's their popular choice for dessert! It's yummy! Not too sweet and not very tart either! - Cremoso de chocolate: another favorite of mine! Came with 4 pieces of crostini with chocolate fudge in between and the pairing is perfect. Chocolate was rich and yet not too overpowering! I'd say a def must try for dessert! I'd definitely come back to this place to try out more stuff as their menu offers so much! The ambiance of the place is also appealing, very sophisticated and chic. Our server was very attentive and had a lot of recommendations! Downside was it is pricey and portion sizes are definitely smaller than usual but it's still worth trying. read more

*Review is 4 months overdue* Coming back to Vegas for a short trip and my friend says Anima is the new spot to have dinner. She's NEVER wrong. We made reservations for a table of 6 on a Friday evening. When we arrived, our table was not ready. No biggie. That just gave us more time to catch up! So while we were chit chatting it up by the front door, a waiter suddenly appeared with champagne and appetizers to accommodate us for the wait. *JAW DROPS* and thank you very much, yes, I will have one of each, please! Dinner was perfection. We literally ordered everything on the menu or whatever our waiter suggested, we tried it. The best thing was that we ate family style so that everyone got a little bit of everything. We did not hold back on anything. Drinks were also amazing. I can't remember what I had because the waiter just brought what they thought I would like and not only did I like it, I loved it. Overall, wonderful team, wonderful food. Nothing was not good. You could not tell that they had just opened. I love supporting establishments like this one! Will keep coming back and I hope they continue to do well. All the reviews are true. This place is a hidden gem in Vegas. Not only was the food delicious but we had so much fun with everyone who worked there. The staff is attentive and welcoming. The chef's menu is one of the least expensive ones we've encountered and worth double the amount. We had the sommelier pair our courses and he was spot on. Locals, go try this place out. TOURISTS, this place is worth the Uber ride from the strip and for now reservations are easy to get. Thank you everyone at Anima for giving us such a wonderful experience. read more

Hands down the best meal I've had this year and one of the best meals I've ever had in Las Vegas. From the not too stuffy atmosphere, to the exceptional service by everyone, to the exquisite cocktails, to the amazingly beautiful and even tastier food, Anima by EDO delivered on all fronts. The service - Walking in, I felt special. That feeling continued throughout the entire night. Servers, managers, and helpers all had actual, fun, and personable conversations with me. There seemed to be a desire to get to know me a bit and to treat me as if I wasn't there just to eat. Compliments were given by multiple staff and that really made me feel nice and welcome. It could've been for show but it certainly didn't feel like it. I noticed this level of service at every table, not just mine, which actually made me appreciate it more. The cocktails - I happened to go during happy hour and to my surprise, the featured cocktails were actually half off! I ordered two throughout the night; the Brazilian Villain and the Don't Call Me Shirley. The Brazilian Villain was amazing and easily became one of my favorite cocktails. IT was smooth and luxurious which I imagine is from the yogurt. The Don't Call Me Shirley was tasty as well but definitely more of a sipper as it was more spirit forward. The food - I have had Anima on my "must try" list for awhile but when I saw they were participating in restaurant week, I knew it was finally time to cross it off the list. I won't discuss everything, but rather just my personal standouts. The fig salad, for how delicate it was, was so incredibly packed with flavor and was the perfect way to start a meal. The egg bon bon, in my opinion was was fair but the show which accompanied it was great. Upon setting the dish down, the waiter hand-torches the guanciale to crisp it up in a few seconds. That was a sight to behold. The croqueta was cheesy, creamy, and salty, absolutely perfect. The sacchetti was probably one of the best pastas I have ever had in my life. If there was a 10 lb bowl of them in front of me, I would've devoured all of it. The U10 scallop was a delicate, buttery treat with a spicy undertone. The tomahawk short rib was incredibly tender and delicious but I was most happy about the portion size. My waiter told me that this is usually for two people to split but for single diners, they don't bother. That fact made me might up honestly. Do yourself a favor and come here and eat. Spend the money, it's worth it. You'll have one of the best meals you've had in a long, ling time. read more

Love the decor, the service, the concept! My group went with the tasting menu per recommendation and had a few glasses of wine in between. The sommelier was a nice touch. My favorites from the tasting menu were: Peruvian Baby Scallops - fresh Kaluga Caviar & Eggs, Trout and Salmon Roe - unique Cured Tuna Sashimi - aged Braised Short Ribs - tender The Catalan olive oil bread w/ the homemade goat ricotta was also a big hit in my book. My only vice about the place was that they did not explain how some dishes should be eaten. For example, the Kaluga Caviar would've been better enjoyed if you scoop the spoon down all the way to the bottom to get both the cream on top and the roe mix on the bottom. Also two of the dishes we had, the Maltagliati pasta and Truffle Cavatelli + bone marrow, was overly salted and rich. I couldn't eat more than 2 bites of it. Tasting menu is a one and done thing for me. Next time, I would order straight off the menu. read more
