    The beer selection for today

Came into Animas after a day of riding. Rode our bikes in for a cold brew. Great selection, service. Although we did not eat, the food looked great!!

Beer is really good, but service is inconsistent. The Lost Souls Lager is our favorite beer of the trip, and we've got lots of four packs in the fridge right now to prove it. We ended up eating here tonight. Cheese curds are ok, yet a little rubbery for my taste. My wife liked her shepherds pie pastie, while I wasn't wowed by my Dip in the Animas pastie. Crust was fine, but the filling left a little to be desired for me. Service was friendly but lacking at times. To be fair, it was pretty much our waitress and one other guy, so while they tried, there were gaps at times. However, love the beer!

The beers were all decent-- nothing outstanding or super unique. Both burgers ordered by my group were just okay. Generally, a bit overdone and dry. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. There is a lot of good indoor and outdoor space, and great access to the river walk trail.

Durango is one of my favorite Colorado towns. It is surrounded by mountains, water wildlife and amazing food. Animas brewing company provides excellent food, along with a host of their own local brews. Located along the Animas river and walking trail, provides a peaceful ambience to your meal. The service is excellent as everyone make sure that you have what you need and what you've ordered is good. If you're in Durango, and finished long hike, or maybe filled your bucket full of fish or just finished the tour of Mesa Verde. This is the place you want to go to cool off and refill your tank.

This was our first time here. We drove up to visit the campus at Ft. Lewis. A friend had recommended this brewery to us. So we headed here after the tour. The parking situation is a little sparse, but there is a park across the street and you can park there. This place seems like it could get really busy at times, but thankfully when we got here for a late lunch, it wasn't. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the scenery. The hostess at the front, handed us some menus and informed us to come back up and order when we were ready. We decided to try out the brew house pretzels, made in house and soft. These were good. They served it with their corner pocket dip and their brewers' mustard. My family ate it up before I could even enjoy one whole piece. For our entrees, we decided on; dip in the Animas. Which was a pasty called Dip in the Animas. This one had roast beef with peppers, onions and swiss cheese. I loved the horseradish sauce it was served with. Very flavorful. Also purchased some of the burgers as well. The JW, had beef and smoked brisket. It had a flavorful BBQ sauce included as well. It was tasty! The other was the Reub, which had beef and fresh corned beef. It was topped with beer kraut, swiss cheese and thousand dressing. It was devoured. All the entrees we had were good. We enjoyed our dining experience, thank you!

    Pasties!

We loved the pasties! The salad and burgers are also excellent. Great service. The whitbeer is one of the best!

Durango Trip; We found this place after rafting the river and was mighty hungry, super cute place with inside and outside seating. Food; Got the burger that is infused with different options, this may have been one of the best burgers I have ate before, cooked to perfection with a nice crisp side salad. The beer menu is changed depending on the brews, super Yummy! Service; order at the bar and they will bring the food out to you.

Animas Brewing Company is one of our favorite stops when we are in Durango! So even though COVID has changed a lot currently we had to grab a to-go order of their delicious pasties and beers while we were in town! All dine in is currently closed and they cannot sell beer after 8pm, but as long as you're prepared and know what to expect you will have a great experience! You can order in person or over the phone. You can enjoy a beer outside while you wait for your food order. They have a good variety of craft beer options and a delicious food menu. We had three different pasties during this trip and all three were delicious. We had the no meater, the Irie, and the Dip in the Animas, with the last being the most delicious. They package the orders well done travel and include napkins and utensils. One of the best things about this place is the atmosphere. We are so looking forward to life resuming to normal to enjoy the full experience here. Until then, they are doing a great job and make sure you visit and show them support during these difficult times! Pros: *Good beer and good variety *Delicious food *Great location *Great atmosphere *Can enjoy a drink outside while you wait Cons: *None that aren't COVID's fault ;)

This was a really cool brewery to visit while we were in Durango. The food was good, the beer was awesome and the staff was really nice. This is one brewery we would definitely visit again when he head back to Pagosa Springs and shoot over to Durango for the day!

Food and service were as good as the beer! As an IPA fan I can attest that their low IBU, west coast style Class VI is superb!

Ask the Community - Animas Brewing Company

Do they offer beer to go/canned?

They did when we were there..canned, didn't ask about growlers. we have too many already.

    Is this patio dog friendly?

Unfortunately due to La Plata heath and safety code we can only allow service animals on the patio, however the low fence surrounding our patio allows your furry friends to be comfortably leashed up on the outside of the patio. we have water bowls…

If you are a lover of well done birria, this is your place. Craving authentic Mexican food? Yep, this is your place. We started with their chips and salsa. I think you can tell a lot by the salsa at a place. Lemme just say, I was so very happy! Their salsa wasn't too chunky, not too thin and they are not afraid to season and add some heat - but hey, don't worry it wasn't too hot if you've got a dad like mine who isn't a fan of "too much spice." Such a good omen. I couldn't decide which marg to try so ordered a flight. Best decision ever. Even as I write this, I'm still hard pressed to choose a favorite. They were all so good. Add street tacos, quesadillas for my mom, elote cob, and switch fries for my dad and we were all happy campers. The flavors were obscenely good. Staff were amazing and stopped by to make sure we were always taken care of: fast and friendly. Best combo ever. The place is also super cute! Loved the bar and simplicity of the concept. Switchback has a quiet elegance while be so very casual. Perfect in my book.

The restaurant is tiny, a narrow shotgun type unit in a building along main street. We managed to get one of their five tables and were promptly served drinks and time to look over the menu before ordering the Country Benedict. My coffee was kept filled as we waited for our order. As soon as the plate hit the table, I knew that even though the owner had changed, the spirit of the place remained. The plate of food was massive; more than the two of us could eat. The plate included two halves of an excellent biscuit, half of a large sausage patty on each, an over easy egg; all smothered in country sausage gravy. The other half of the plate had a mound of beautiful browned hash browns. Enough for four people or at least two very hungry people. It was glorious and nostalgic. The flavor was everything I wanted it to be. If you are in or near Durango, please consider giving this true old diner a try. Answering all of our questions and asking where we are from and overall friendly service. We all ordered the breakfast burritos and it was better than what we expected. I highly recommend the green chili sauce they smother the burrito in.... It's super tasty! And in the end, the price was lower than we expected.... So, great environment, great food. 5 stars! I love buttery Chardonnays and Rombauer may be among the best I have had, it reminded me of the award-winning Château Montelena, Chardonnay. For those of you who have never seen the movie Bottle Shock, watch it, It's a wonderful lesson in wine history. I'm definitely buying some Rombauer for my personal collection when I return to Vegas. My appetizer was a tasty peppery kick calamari dish. The kick wasn't too bad for you non spicy folks. The dish was light and crispy just how great calamari should be. Then came the branzino. I do not eat the skin of fish typically, but this dish was to tasty and the skin was the perfect level of crispy. The branzino and the wine went so well together, I was eating my desert early. The flavors popped in my mouth. At this point I was done but my amazing waiter Tyler did ask if I wanted to see the desert Menu and since I thought if the rest of the food was this delicious why not. I ended up ordering the white chocolate cheesecake. OH MY GOD, it melted in my mouth. The cheesecake wasn't overly rich but it was smooth, definitely fresh. The berries and the whipped cream balanced it out and that cheesecake didn't stand a chance. As a foodie from Las Vegas, I have been to a numerous amount of amazing restaurants. I cannot express my surprise at finding seasons here in Durango. This is definitely going to be one of my go to restaurants every time I visit this beautiful town. I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys great service and even better food. Take a bow Chef, you have a new fan. From Vegas with love!
