I went in the store picked out tile and was to call them back with the qty to order. I called back 2 days later and told a different gentleman that I wanted to complete the order. He validated my phone/ email and said he would get back to me in 5 minutes with a way to pay over the phone. No call, no email. Crickets. 3 months later I get an email from the original gentleman that I worked with to see if I wanted to move forward. I went elsewhere and my project was already done. I did not make an appointment to visit the showroom, I didn't even think about it we just happened to be in the area and stopped in. We were welcomed and helped after we looked around and were given samples wrapped up nicely. I got the info for who to speak to (email) when I was ready to order. She (Denise) was super helpful with all my questions and I had a lot! The flooring arrived earlier than I was told it would and it is beautiful!!! The backsplash is custom so it has not shipped yet, I was given an estimate and I assume that's when it will be delivered. Even the delivery man was super nice! From Ann Sacks showing Mexican Talavera tile out of her Portland bungalow living room in 1980 to becoming one of the best known names in upscale tile across a broad range of mediums and designs by the end of the eighties to acquisition of the company by Kohler to opening of showrooms like this one, Ann Sacks is a Northwest grown success story. The company and the products are a darling of interior design professionals and it was those folks who first introduced me to Ann Sacks tile almost twenty years ago. I winced at the cost; then; the options were beautiful but it was tough to find tiles that fit my budget. Time passes. Things change. Maybe it is my orientation to cost has been modified or that Kohler's purchase of the company has introduced a broader price range because in my recent visit to this showroom I found several things that would reconcile my Champagne tastes with my Prosecco budget. If you think you can't afford Ann Sacks products, you might be pleasantly surprised if you pop in here for the help of the nice and knowledgeable people who work in this brightly lit, beautifully laid out storefront. Many options are more affordable than one might expect and all of them are beautiful to see from glass to metal to ceramic to porcelain.. Words cannot do justice to the array of tiles for floors and walls and vanities and back splashes in all mediums here. I was particularly impressed with the options in porcelain tile, one of my favorites to use for environmental reasons and durability and ease of maintenance. The porcelain floor tile that was available in various patterns and color ways that looked very much like wood floors caught my eye for a next project. And while I'm not a fan of Carers Marble, it was interesting to note Ann Sacks has introduced a porcelain tile that is a ringer for that stone. There are also faucets and fixtures for sink, tub and shower from Kallista, another Kohler subsidiary, in striking designs from traditional to contemporary and in finish options that are simply luscious. The showroom also has a few mirrors for above sink applications (I had my eye on a round one that was on sale no less) and you can see some items in the line of Ann Sacks bathroom accessories, from soap holders to trash cans. There is inspiration to be found here in the products on display, whether you are just dreaming of a project or actually working on one. Treat yourself. Take a look at Ann Sacks showroom. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: Easier to find in this Pearl neighborhood on street during weekday work hours than you might expect. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Level in the door and throughout in the one floor space. 3) NEIGHBORS: There is a funky alternative art gallery, Blackfish, next door to the showroom which provides an interesting juxtaposition. I found much of the art unsettling for my spirit, but it was an interesting space to visit. read more

He was super helpful in answering all of my questions and helped me come up with some tile and stone design pairings that I loved. It has been such a pleasure working with Lauren Turney at the Ann Sacks Tile and Stone showroom in the Pearl District. We had an extensive flood in our home and experienced a lot of stress as we worked to not only put our home back together but make it even more beautiful and comfortable. Design is not a skill of mine so I was nervous about making decisions regarding the tile for our bathroom floors and shower walls. Gorgeous show room now in the Pearl. The name Ann Sacks has traditionally been synonymous with "tile I cannot afford." However, given the economy and massive halt to home improvement projects nationwide, Ann Sacks has stepped it up by offering a selection of basic tile in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, all for under $12/square foot. Sure, that is still pricey by big box store standards, but these tiles are nicer than what you typically find in a box store, and they can be mixed in to an overall tile project for a punch of interest and depth for not a lot of money. It's nice to see a company of such quality and appeal responding to the current economic environment. Of course, the rest of the show room that is decidedly not $12/sf is positively Pavlovian. Bring your own drool towel. read more

They have some seriously shiny, pretty things to turn any ordinary port-a-potty into a swanky bathroom retreat. The sales staff was super helpful and even suggested other stores to help me find what I was looking for :) Don't let the name fool you, it's more than just tile & stone. STAY AWAY!!! Terrible customer service team!!!! Selected the Solas line in 3x9 white matte. I had been working with a local designer and this best matched the simple aesthetic we were aiming for. This was selected for reasons that it was clean and I did not want variation in individual tile color. The tile was labeled V1 for no difference in color from one tile to the next. After this wall tile was installed and grouted by a professional tile installer we immediately noticed that there was variation in tile color. It was then obvious we had received mixed dye lots.  When I escalated my concerns to Ann Sacks customer service I was told that they do NOT guarantee all tile will be pulled from same dye lot. I Asked to see that in writing as I reviewed thoroughly the contract I had signed and it was not stated there as a disclosure. I was told they do not have it in writing. I was shocked because that is basically tile 101 that you do not mix different dye lots especially in a V1 tile.  Extremely disappointed with the customer service as I was told once tile installed they are unable to help. My response was how else would you notice the difference until you install it? After getting no where with the customer service manager I asked to speak with whomever they report to and was told I was not able to. I had to eat the cost of this tile and labor associated to remove and replace. I would recommend staying away from Ann Sacks. When I showed pictures of bathroom tile to local tile store they laughed and thought the tile was from a big box store since it was obvious from the pictures that the dye lots had been mixed. Ann Sacks is  not willing to take responsibility for their mistakes!!!  Do not be fooled by their pretty showroom. Avoid the frustration and expense and shop elsewhere! read more

I had a very poor experience with Ann Sacks. I purchased an expensive mosaic tile for the floors of a new bathroom. When our professional tile person (who has installed 2 other bathrooms for us) attempted to cut the tile using his wet saw the tile came off the sheet backing. It was impossible to cut. I ended up purchasing another tile from another store. I spoke to 2 people at Ann Sacks to try to return the defective tile and get my money back. No luck. I was told that the tile setter should have used a dry saw. I have subsequently researched dry versus wet saws and all the literature recommends using a wet saw for sawing tile. This is ridiculous. I spent over $1000 on unusable tile. read more

I would never recommend Ann sacks to any friends. The tiles were so uneven. Out of 6 boxes almost 2 boxes full of subway tiles had to be put in a spot that was invisible spot. For the price I paid for these tiles I shouldn't have to hide them. What was wrong with them is that some were convex on the surface and some were concave, some were thicker on one and then the other, and still others were wider at one and then the other. I return them to the office for them to evaluate. Both the designer and the quality control person for their tile facility said they were within specs. My tile installer is very qualified and has been doing tile installation for 20 years. He said he had never encountered such poorly made tiles. The people at Ann Sacks told me that I should expect to have a handmade look to them but is the grout line suppose to be wavy and uneven with up to 1/4 inch difference from one end of the tile to the next!? Added info: needed to order more tile to finish the job. Was promised extra tiles to compensate for the defective one. Picked up the additional tiles. What do you know?? No extra tiles. Simply horrible customer service! First they told me they had marble in the size of tiles I needed when I first visited the showroom. Then when I went to place the order a week later, the new rep said I would need to order the marble in another size and cut it. Then they told my interior decorator they DID have the marble tiles in the original size. Next they had me docusign an order for the title with my credit card information included. I thought it was on order. Next they called and left a message that they now needed my credit card CVN number (not on the form). With their short business hours, it took me until the weekend to be able to get anyone. Now I get an e-mail this evenings saying that the tile which I was told earlier in the day would ship in 7-10 days is now scheduled to arrive on 7/05--5 weeks from now! This is not a professional organization. The other posts here must be fakes. read more
