If I could give this place 0 stars I would! We took my mother out for her birthday and she ordered the chicken tortilla soup. When she got her meal, after a few bites she found shrimp in the soup. Before grabbing our waitress , Yasmin, attention we looked on the menu to see if it was the written in the listed items of the dish. It was not. We got the attention of our waitress and informed her she immediately told us that it should not have shrimp in and apologize and grabbed a new soup for us. When we got the new order of chicken tortilla soup, we were under the impression that this was a new batch because it came out steaming hot along with the waitress returning back saying we would have a completely new soup. As my mom was getting ready to try the soup, mid bite my sister caught another piece of shrimp in my mother's soup. I asked a hostess if she could grab the manager for us. After seeing this, I spoke with a man that introduced himself as the Owner of the restaurant. He started by saying we are "overwhelmed so what can I do for you?" I informed him of everything that happened and he went to double check with the head chef if there is suppose to be shrimp in the soup. Honestly I thought that was strange because how are you the owner and do not know what items are in what, but I have that a pass because that's fair to not know every single item. When he returned he said "we're overwhelmed in the back, what can I do for you ?" My mother requested that he throw out the batch. After that the owner became very hostile and unprofessional. It was very disheartening seeing this behavior from the owner. The professional thing that he should have done was apologize on behalf of the kitchen and say it was thrown out. As a healthcare worker, shell fish allergies are something that should not be taken lightly. God forbid there was someone there with a shellfish allergy and actually had a reaction. That was the whole point and when it was presented to him he was very dismissive of it. I would never eat here again. First and last time. While nothing I've had there has been outstandingly remarkable, I will say that their strawberry shortcake French toast is noteworthy while it could use more strawberries in my opinion. The chicken and waffles entree is also not bad but the chicken lacks seasoning and can be hit or miss in terms of dryness. I'd really like to rate it a 4 but in all honesty and duty to the public, I could not. My partner and I ordered the standard breakfast with a side of grits and crab cake Benedict. Both were a disappointment except the grits. The crab cake Benedict was $17.99 and for that price , even a teaspoon size of Crabs would've held up its name; the crab was no where to be found. The standard breakfast was served with dried scrambled eggs, uncooked turkey bacon, and a day or two old English muffins. To make things worse, the coffee was a tar! I'm familiar with Another Broken Egg Cafe from having it in another state. I was excited seeing that they were opening one in Maryland. I went on a Saturday and the restaurant itself is nice, nice pricing, and good service. They do not take reservations, but you can put yourself on a waitlist as you're on your way to the restaurant so that you do not have to wait. I had their Mardi Gras omelette which was really tasty, just missing a little pepper or Old Bay. I had a Blueberry Brunch Margarita and it was very weak, but no real major complaints. My mom had the shrimp benny and she said that it was very good. The menu was very diverse and I definitely want to go back to try more. I've seen other people complain about the location, I don't really find the location that awkward/challenging, I've been to much worse lol. I have to try more items for it to be 5 stars, but don't worry, I'm going back. read more

Shoutout to our local community heroes!Today was our first time visiting this venue and it has been on my list for a while now. It was worth the drive ! Fredy was our ambassador for the meal. He was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable. He brought us complimentary beignets. Round little beauties served with a side of orange marmalade! Very indulgent! The menu was very cool. Lots to choose from and I think that everyone in my family would find something to enjoy! I for one had to practically flip a coin to pick. My hubby helped me pick. I tried something new and stayed away from my normal favorites. I picked the apple fritter French toast. I was not prepared for the work of art that came out of! This was literally an apple fritter prepared like French toast! Extra Apples, gourmet sauce, and fresh blueberries ! I was amazed! This was like a triple decker! I was just trying to piece my way through it. I had ordered sausage patties and city grits for a break from the sweet and a savory balance. Hubby loved his Floridian omelette! Came here for the first time yesterday with a group of friends for a Christmas brunch and we really enjoyed ourselves! My friend made a reservation so we came in and were seated with no problems. Our server was super sweet and attentive to us. We all enjoyed our food too. I liked the decor, and the owner even came over to stop and chat with us. Customer service was excellent. I got the strawberry lemonade spritzer mocktail for $5.99 (they will be serving alcohol starting December 24th), and the shrimp and grits. Both the drink and the entree were absolutely fantastic. Pricing was very reasonable too, my bill came to $24 and they gave me a half order of beignets for free!! Others at my table got the biscuit and gravy, pound cake French toast, and the gingerbread waffle (they had a special holiday menu.) Everything was so good. I like that there is plenty of parking and there are large windows with plenty of sunlight (perfect for selfies). In Sarasota, I felt this restaurant was the BOMB! But here... meh! Waiters should be properly trained to always serve water and always provide a straw with each drink. When asked about the waiting list stating 1hr and 20 min, they said you still have to checkin in person so waiting list online doesn't really count. We were finally seated 1hr and 10 min after checkin. We ordered as soon as our waiter came over and the food took 45min to come. The couple that sat a few minutes after us got their food right before we did. Food was okay. Definitely not worth the almost 3 hours wait. Coffee tasted burnt. Their bacon is oven baked with the perfect balance of crispness without being overcooked and taking away from the flavor. My most recent visit, I had the lemon pound cake french toast... chef's kiss! Portion sizes are abundant and reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly and provide good service. The first time my daughters and I went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was crowded; however we were seated and served with a minimal wait time. We were also offered complimentary beignets because one of the items we ordered took longer to arrive. The ambience is ok. Depending on where you're seated, seating can be somewhat crowded, but you're likely to overlook any seating issues once you start eating. Today my good girlfriend and I had brunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe and let me tell you they did NOT disappoint. Starting with the service, our server was polite, attentive and knowledgeable. I love when the server can provide recommendations and is honest about their experiences with the food. The food, OMG!! There were so many items that I wanted to order which just means I will be back SOON! I decided on the Lemon Pound Cake French toast because it's a seasonal treat and didn't want to miss out. Chefs Kiss. The French toast literally melted on my tongue! There was no need for syrup because the fresh fruit, powdered sugar and whipped cream was enough. To drink I had a strawberry St Germaine Mimosa which was delicious. I'm going to try to recreate that one at home tomorrow . My girlfriend had the shrimp & grits and loved the flavor and the texture of the grits. The menu looked great and made it hard to choose, so I would love to go back and try other items. The menu online indicated they had cocktails, but they did not. I assume they just didn't have their liquor license yet. This was in early October so perhaps things have changed since then, but if you are looking for brunch cocktails I would call and check first! Our waitress took so long to check in to see if everything was good that my partner was halfway done his food. The city grits were good and so was the scratch made sausage. Ordered pancakes with my food that ended up coming after I had finished. Ordered the breakfast platter with the house sausage. Honestly didn't taste well.. it lacked flavor, even the potatoes lacked flavor. The pancakes were flat, not fluffy at all.
