Another adventure for breakfast. Found this one on a search and was pleasantly surprised. Got the southwest scramble. Big portion but way to greasy. Hubby got sausage a gravy, could have used more gravy less pepper. Bloody Mary was good. Restaurant had ample seating indoor and out. Service was fast in beginning but completely died off. I was looking forward to trying this spot because of the rave reviews so I went on a sleepy weekday morning. First, the parking lot has a very weird set-up. But I found the place and got a table, no problem. Although the first table they sat me at was an abysmally tiny booth by the door, I was swiftly relocated to a proper sized booth. I ordered classic eggs benny, coffee and juice. I must say the eggs benedict were superb! They were served hot with fresh ingredients, simple yet full of flavor. They came with a bowl of pedestrian potatoes. Coffee was good. Juice was delivered in a tumbler. Service was fine. Here's the problem: the price. After tip, my humble breakfast was $35 bucks! That's way too much for what I had - and the reason this spot gets only four stars. But, more important, the price is the reason I won't return. Too bad. read more

Tried Another Broken Egg Cafe today with my lovely girlfriend. Although the restaurant was busy, we were seated instantly. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of breakfast potatoes and a Peach Palmer while my girlfriend opted for the apple fritter French toast, eggs, bacon and orange juice. We got an half-order of biscuit beignets with honey marmalade to split. The food was all amazing! Our waiter, Michael, was attentive and made sure that we were satisfied with everything. No reservations however you can check in ( wait list) on your phone when you're close depending on where you live. The in and outside of the restaurant had a good vibe. Came in for brunch on Sunday. Joined the wait list before we got there which was clutch bc it was a 30 min wait. We split pancakes. We got a breakfast chicken sandwich which was fried chicken over medium egg and pimento cheese on a biscuit. Very good. Also go th southwest scramble. The potatoes on the side were a bit oily. My friend had a lunch duo of half a chicken salad sandwich that looked scrumptious, and she said it was. Paired with chicken tortilla soup that she said was good, but with a consistency more like chili than soup. I had a southern fried chicken salad which was enormous. The greens were crisp, the tomato and red onion slices firm and tasty, the chicken was fried to perfection and not at all greasy, and the sliced hard-boiled egg topped it nicely. It comes with honey mustard dressing, but I'm sure you could sub something else as it's on the side. We each had a mug of decaf after, and my bill was only 21.97 excluding tip. I brought half the salad home, so that was a very reasonable price for two meals! May I add, several reviewers have commented that it's pricey. Well, if you don't have a lunch or other special, I'd have to agree. But the quality was outstanding and portion large, so it's probably worth it. read more

The lemon pound cake French toast had this caramelization that added to the great taste. The blackberry mule they recommend to pair with it was good just didn't taste like any alcohol in it. Lemon pound cake french toast - it's a beefed up lemon pound cake! Dessert for breakfast. Mom was very satisfied Apple fritter french toast- I havent seen my dad have such a visceral reaction to a dish in a while. He couldnt stop talking about this one.. they fought for the last bite! And the mardi gras omelette- tasty.. stuffed with the ingredients. Dad's only critique was the sausage could have been cut smaller. My only critique was that we ordered the biscuit beneigts - they never came (and I'm glad they didn't), but we missed that it was still included on the tab. All the food that I tried was excellent, besides the turkey bacon. The turkey bacon was overcooked, so it gave that rubbery texture. We went here on a whim based on what was in the area. The place is pretty big with lots of seating. Service was great. Our server was really nice and attentive. I got the fruit and honey waffle which comes with eggs and a choice of meat. The honey sauce was very sweet and was not what heavier in texture than I expected. Their breakfast sausage is said to be homemade. It was really good! Possibly my favorite thing that we got. My fiance got the lobster and Brie omelet with a side of Bourbon Street pancakes. Pancakes sauce was very sweet. The omelet was really good if you like creamy fillings. Overall, great experience. Would likely go back to try other things. Another broken egg just opened in the beginning of Feb. 26 & my sister in NC recommended it. My daughter & 2 young children took my for my birthday. Because I signed up for their email I received a free pancake breakfast & because it was my bday the sent me a coupon for free beignet biscuits. There were at least eight I believe on the plate. I think we each could have two whatever it was it wasn't enough we were fighting for those beignet biscuits, oh my goodness. I ordered this French toast with corn flake & crumble topping, with a drizzle sauce. It is now a month later and not one day has passed where my mouth hasn't begged me to go back for their french toast. It was so delicious I don't know if I'll ever try anything else on the menu. It was that good! I was undone. My granddaughter loved her meal of the fried chicken salad & tortilla soup. My grandson ordered a hamburger that was probably the largest burger I've ever seen. We, a party of 3, unknowingly went on opening weekend for brunch, so issues are sure to come up. Here is our timeline: We got there around 9:45, got seated at 10:45 (after being told the wait would be about 10-15 minutes). Ordered within 20 minutes of sitting, but didn't get our food until 90 minutes later. At that point, we just asked for containers to take home the food. The service is usually pretty good as it was this time. Only a slight delay between menus and taking orders. I ordered the Sunrise Spinach Scramble and it was good, not amazing. It has spinach, onion and bacon mixed in with the egg topped with some cheese. The flavor was a little one sided with the bacon taking the lead, maybe too much bacon overpowering the rest of the flavors. Not bad but could have a better balance. We also got the biscuit beignets and they are amazing! A must add on to any breakfast here. The side of fruit was okay, the grapes were nice and ripe. Heard a lot of good things about this place and finally got a chance to check it out. Busy on the weekend. The food was really good but the only thing was the hostess kept sitting other people before us.... we understood it was a 30 minute way but constantly families that arrived after us kept getting their tables ... ? I think they might have gotten overwhelmed by the number of people walking in and forgot the order But once we were able to sit down and able to order our sever was great .... we had great beignets to start.. so warm and cooked perfectly... we had French toast , chicken salad with jambalaya, waffles and it was all really super tasty Would recommend maybe go on a weekend read more
