We've fallen completely in love with Another Broken Egg in Elkridge. In the last month alone, we've come here for brunch three out of four weeks -- that's how much we enjoy it. From the very first visit, the experience stood out. We came with my in-laws, my husband, and our two youngest children (a toddler and an infant), and the manager greeted us at the door with such warmth. She brought a sling for our baby's car seat, shared photos of her own baby (around the same age!), and even brought a little fruit bowl for our two-year-old. That level of kindness set the tone for the entire meal and for every visit since. The food is delicious. This restaurant easily ranks in our top two fave brunch spots in the entire Baltimore metro area, and we are serious restaurant goers. We especially appreciate their spin on normal breakfast items, like the Apple (Fritter) French Toast. It is crispy, crunchy, and perfectly paired with the butter rum sauce. We've also enjoyed the cocktails, like the blueberry mimosa and the cold brew Maker's Mark bourbon cocktail. But what truly makes Another Broken Egg special is the service. The manager and servers are consistently attentive, kind, and genuine. It feels like a community-oriented, family-friendly space where kids are not just tolerated but truly welcomed. The staff even remembers us when we return, which makes it feel like a true neighborhood gem. If I had one small critique, it would be that the homestyle potatoes don't quite match the incredible quality of the rest of the food -- they're good, but everything else is exceptional. Wow wow wow........is all I can say!!!! I assume this was just another breakfast joint like IHOP.....WRONG!!! From the white table cloths on the table to the top notch service to the fabulous food!!! Did I mention the food.......! We had family in town visiting that we kept missing one another so our last try to meet up was to have breakfast if we could...WE DID! To start off we got the house bread which were donut balls to me with syrup that was actually good!! I ordered chicken n waffles which I say was the best I've had so far because the chicken was seasoned to perfection with a warm and fluffy waffle!!!! Next up was the shrimp and grits that was seasoned and very good also!!!! The pancakes was also fluffy and with the cream and chocolate syrup complimenting each other perfectly!! The bacon was crispy and cooked perfectly!! The lemon punch was pretty good too and the coffee was very fresh!! This was also a Father's Day treat too and it did not disappoint! Everything we had was cooked and seasoned perfectly. By far the best grits I've ever had! The service was pretty bad. I think we had a new server, but he never brought our drink order, and he came back only after we had finished eating to ask how everything was. We asked for the check, and he never returned to take the payment, so we had to go to the bar to sort it out--especially since he had also charged us for the missing drink order. The bartenders were great, though! They discovered the drink had been made, but he never picked it up. They took it off the bill. I was looking forward to trying this spot because of the rave reviews so I went on a sleepy weekday morning. First, the parking lot has a very weird set-up. But I found the place and got a table, no problem. Although the first table they sat me at was an abysmally tiny booth by the door, I was swiftly relocated to a proper sized booth. I ordered classic eggs benny, coffee and juice. I must say the eggs benedict were superb! They were served hot with fresh ingredients, simple yet full of flavor. They came with a bowl of pedestrian potatoes. Coffee was good. Juice was delivered in a tumbler. Service was fine. Here's the problem: the price. After tip, my humble breakfast was $35 bucks! I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of breakfast potatoes and a Peach Palmer while my girlfriend opted for the apple fritter French toast, eggs, bacon and orange juice. My only critique was that we ordered the biscuit beneigts - they never came (and I'm glad they didn't), but we missed that it was still included on the tab. I got the fruit and honey waffle which comes with eggs and a choice of meat. The honey sauce was very sweet and was not what heavier in texture than I expected. Their breakfast sausage is said to be homemade. It was really good! Possibly my favorite thing that we got. My fiance got the lobster and Brie omelet with a side of Bourbon Street pancakes. My friend had a lunch duo of half a chicken salad sandwich that looked scrumptious, and she said it was. Paired with chicken tortilla soup that she said was good, but with a consistency more like chili than soup. I had a southern fried chicken salad which was enormous. The greens were crisp, the tomato and red onion slices firm and tasty, the chicken was fried to perfection and not at all greasy, and the sliced hard-boiled egg topped it nicely. It comes with honey mustard dressing, but I'm sure you could sub something else as it's on the side. We each had a mug of decaf after, and my bill was only 21.97 excluding tip. I brought half the salad home, so that was a very reasonable price for two meals! May I add, several reviewers have commented that it's pricey. We, a party of 3, unknowingly went on opening weekend for brunch, so issues are sure to come up. Here is our timeline: We got there around 9:45, got seated at 10:45 (after being told the wait would be about 10-15 minutes). Ordered within 20 minutes of sitting, but didn't get our food until 90 minutes later. At that point, we just asked for containers to take home the food. Everyone ordered a hot chocolate, none of which were even warm. We decided to stay and wait since we understood there will be lots of thing to learn for the staff but, boy, was it a mess. I wish I would have gotten a more "signature" dish like the French toast or one of the interesting pancakes. The "biscuit beignets" have a thicker density like a biscuit rather than the airy dough of beignets. It was paired with an apricot honey jam and it was good. The bacon on my daughter's meal was not good (A bit hard). Our server noticed the beignets didn't come out before our meal and immediately went to go grab them which I appreciated. The service is usually pretty good as it was this time. Only a slight delay between menus and taking orders. I ordered the Sunrise Spinach Scramble and it was good, not amazing. It has spinach, onion and bacon mixed in with the egg topped with some cheese. The flavor was a little one sided with the bacon taking the lead, maybe too much bacon overpowering the rest of the flavors. Not bad but could have a better balance. We also got the biscuit beignets and they are amazing! A must add on to any breakfast here. The side of fruit was okay, the grapes were nice and ripe. Overall a good place worth checking out but don't expect mind blowing food (maybe with the exception of the beignets), just good eats. read more
