Best breakfast/brunch place in town. I have been to this place three times now and I have NEVER had a bad experience. I even tried their gluten free option and that too was excellent. Every dish I've had was so good to the point that I have not even thought to go to any of my other brunch spots. Every time we are asked to go to brunch or breakfast I'm always suggesting this place. The only down side is the wait time if you walk in. The best bet is to use the NoWait app. With this app my wait is usually no more than 15mins. Good Morning, I needed to let someone know about my experience at your place of business. This morning as I was having breakfast with several nurses at the Pembroke Pines location, as I always do, I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. It smelled so delicious. On my second bite, I bit into something crunchy thinking it was shrimp shelling as it hit the back of my throat. Okay, no big deal. But, my next mouthful as I chewed my food something sharp hit my palate, which caught my attention, and I spit it out. In going through the un-swallowed portion, I found a piece of brown glass in my meal. An employee was walking by in a green shirt, and I immediately asked to speak to the manager on shift. The person I spoke with replied that she was the manager on shift. I showed her the piece of sharp glass that was located in the food, she apologized and asked me to give it to her so that she could show the General Manager. I told her "No", but please have the GM come to the table instead and explain why there are glass particles in my meal? Shortly afterward, the GM appeared asking me for the glass as well for him to inspect. I gave it to him, and his first response to me was... "We don't have any glass this color in the kitchen!" I was appalled at his response, and asked him if he was insinuating that I placed it there or that it came from my kitchen. He said no, not at all and then proceeded to ask if I would like another portion of the same meal. I explained to him that I do not want another part of the same meal because there is no way to determine where the glass came from, and if he could not ensure that this would not happen again then don't bother. I further explained, had I swallowed this foreign object the potential for emergency surgery is high which could include having perforated bowels that requires a colostomy? He gave me a blank stare. Following this, he then offered to compensate the entire bill for the table, which we agreed. Minutes later the waiter return with a bill for the other meals. I asked, "why are we getting a bill for the table, when the GM offered full compensation? The waiter's response was, "There was no glass in their meals, and nothing was wrong." I laughed at his response and requested to have the GM return to the table. We patiently waited without success. None of your managers showed us respect by returning to the table to sort this bill out. As customers, we were in limbo whether we could leave or pay the bill. Twenty minutes later, I stopped the first manager I had spoken to prior and asked her what happened to the bill? She replied... oh, he fixed it. My response to her was, it would have been courteous if a member of your management team relayed that information to us so we could go home, as we were getting off from working nightshift. It is unfortunate that I had this experience as I eat at this franchise often. As a manager myself, customer satisfaction and safety should be the top priorities in any establishment. This experience sure left a bitter taste in my mouth. I am extremely hurt and disappointed over this ordeal because I honestly believe that the manager and general manager could have handled this scenario differently. We love Another Broken Egg Cafe, we have been to several locations from Dallas, TX to Pembroke Pines, FL and it has never failed us until our last trip on 1/11/2021 at Pembroke Pines. As we were getting ready to go have brunch, I decided to check out the website to see if there was a check in ahead or wait list and saw that there was a wait list. I added us, just 2 of us to the wait list. We also completely understand about wait times and how it can fluctuate. The yelp wait list was a problem, not sure if it's yelp or the restaurant but after joining the wait list it was roughly a 2 hour wait. We got to the location and I checked our status, it was pushed back 30 minutes. After seeing the number of people on the list ahead of us, we said ok, let's go to the nearby home depot which was one of our stops that day. Then about 15 minutes later, our wait time was delayed again for 30 minutes. As it got closer to our "check in time", my boyfriend went in to see if the bar had seating available, which it did but the hostess would NOT let us sit there because we were on the wait list and the seats were being saved for other guests. We decided to wait a little longer, then it came time for another "check in" time and I went in this time. 2 people walked in right ahead of me and guess what..... they got seats at the bar!!! I was livid. I asked the hostess how the Yelp wait list works, she attempted to explain to me that even though there is that wait list, there is more people that walk in or call ahead. I then said, what a joke this wait list is then. I told her we have been waiting for over two hours now and she agreed, she said it was 132 minutes exactly. So I then said, why were those two seated at the bar when we tried to do the same thing even after waiting prior to asking, they had no reservation and they were not on a wait list. After making such a stink, we got seated. They had several tables open inside and outside. I was irritated but finally we get to eat. Our waitress was ok, she came frequently in the beginning and promptly took our order. Our food came quickly. I ordered eggs Benedict and only 1 of the eggs was cooked correctly, the other was over done and the food was luke warm. There was not a lot of hollendaise sauce either. My boyfriends meal was ok, he ordered the traditional breakfast. His food was luke warm too. We ordered mimosa's and bloody mary's. We were almost finished with our meal when the waitress slapped the bill on the table WITHOUT asking if we wanted anything else. I then told her I wanted another mimosa. Even though we were disappointed this trip we will give them 1 more chance. Otherwise, we'll make the drive to Delray Beach for the better location and better food/service. read more
