Went last night for a anniversary dinner and did the 3 course prefix dinner. Servers were polite and friendly - especially the hostess. Food timing was great and food came out all in a timely fashion and hot even tho I am a very slow eaters. The steak was a bit flavorless and could have used some more butter or flake salt or a marinate. The bread was absolutely delicious - we even took some home [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was very friendly and we got to see the sunset sitting at the windows.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was not too crowded but had a nice casual buzz.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They put candles on our dessert as a sweet touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had a lovely time and will return next time in town

What a wonderful place to enjoy great company and delicious food! Very comfortable ambiance! Four of us had lunch here last Saturday and were extremely pleased with our selection of restaurant and entrees! Appetizers were the golden fried crispy tender calamari which were super tasty and yummy! We also had the crab, shrimp and artichoke dip. This was outstanding as well! Served with little squares of flatbread the dip was outstanding! My wife had the mango and shrimp salad and loved it! Lots and lots of goodies on this salad. Please see picture! I had the Caesar Salad with shrimp. It was delicious! My 97 year old mom had the crab, shrimp and artichoke open face sandwiches. She loved it and thought it was delicious! My son had the fried cod dish sandwich and loved it! Huge portion of breaded cod between a delicious roll! Dessert was a rhubarb slump with ice cream. Super yummy! Perfect sweet tart dessert to this awesome meal! Great place!!

The Berry Berry Drop was berry delicious - but does inspire bad puns...

We had an amazing evening at Hearthfire after a busy day. While we just popped in for a very light dinner, we split a caesar salad with shrimp that was delicious and huge. Each half portion was entree sized for us. The romain lettuce was very fresh and the dressing very tasty without being too heavy or too much. The shrimp were the little guys you typically get in a shrimp cocktail, but one very large portion for each plate. We also had the Berry Berry Cocktail, which was fun (and tasty) and some fresh coffee. The setting and ambiance is always wonderful when the weather is nice, as we prefer to sit outside whenever possible. You can watch the boats come in in the evening as the sun sets in the distance. Beautiful!! The evening we were there the Bellwether Hotel next door had a band playing outside. The music was great and the sound system sufficient to allow us to enjoy it, without being overpowered -- that is, we could still talk to each other at normal volume. A beautiful sunset rounded it all out perfectly. Service was superb and very attentive. We've only been to the Hearthfire a few times, but service has always been great. Two thumbs way up! We'll be back!

Location! Location! Location! Hearthfire Grill a more upscale spin to Anthony's Restaurant was the unique and special view we needed for a romantic evening. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. Why only three stars? Although the restaurant did not disappoint on location, the food was the epitome of okay. Seafood is the star of the show but sadly disheartened on the deliverable. The calamari was hard fried, overcooked, and lacked freshness. I ordered the Sockeye with seasoned vegetables. The flavor was present but the overcooked theme continued with my salmon. The texture of the snap peas did add some reprieve but overall not impressed. I recommend bringing your camera, good company, and conversation to enjoy the view, but not the food.

The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

They happily put the game on when we asked and were very attentive throughout our visit, which made a great first impression. I ordered the burger with bacon and blue cheese and requested no condiments. I think there may have been some confusion in the kitchen, as the garnishes were left off as well, but our server promptly brought them out when asked. Unfortunately, the burger itself was overcooked and lacked flavor. The ciabatta roll was only partially toasted, and overall the dish fell a bit flat. The fries, however, were excellent hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I don't usually like coated fries, but these were a home run. My dining partner ordered the BLT and said the sandwich was great overall. We also shared the mozzarella sticks appetizer. They were a bit different from traditional mozzarella sticks, thicker cheese with a heavier breading. While they were good, I felt the order should have included six instead of four. Overall, even though we were one of only two tables in the restaurant, we had a great lunch, thanks largely to the excellent service.

The bacon was okay, the eggs tasted like they might have been reconstituted, the English muffin was tough, but the white toast was excellent, thickly cut and toasted just right. The fruit and coffee were both okay. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and really tried hard to make sure we had what we needed. Service was definitely the highlight. The restaurant was clean and though there were lots of people there it wasn't too noisy. I was surprised to see how worn the booth seating was. It was convenient and quick, which fit our morning plans, but we decided to try other spots in town for the rest of our meals.

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! These were so delicious I ordered two more batches to have at home. Lovely espresso martini to end it all.

I was happy to see steamed clams on the menu. I grew up eating fresh steamed seafood for dinner, so battered fried seafood that is more common here hasn't really grown on me yet. To me fried seafood is a fancy version of chicken nuggets. I loved the clams, so light but bland. The sauce is full of umami flavor, drizzled with some fresh lemon juice, it was like a summery beachy afternoon in a bowl. I could easily dip a loaf of toast with it if I had one. The clams were fresh and meaty, nothing to complain about with this dish. My partner had the grilled cheese, and he said it was mid. He's vegetarian, and I don't like cheese, so I didn't bother to try any of his meal to do my own fact check. The staff were friendly too. Overall, this is a nice place to grab lunch when visiting Bellingham.
