As a frequent visitor of Anthony's recently I have become disappointed in the lack of professionalism and service at the establishment. When I called for the corkage fee, they first didn't know what I was talking about then they put me on the phone with the manager that said they were too busy. This same week, a friend mentioned that when they visited, they offered a suggestion of helpfulness to a young man working there that was being less than courteous to a new employee. Good service . Food was lacking Moisture. Family and I went for lunch. We all got something basic like chicken fingers for the kids and burgers. Both were dry as the desert. If I had a guess. I would say the food was under a heat lamp for the past 12 hours. If you can't do the basics why try anything else? read more

This is an overall great family restaurant and quite popular in Purcellville. I am amazed on the vast variety of food they serve. From American, to Mediteranian and Italian food, one can find just about anything they desire. They serve wine and other alcoholic beverages and have both outdoor and indoor sitting area. Ordered pizza at the end of March 2020 trying to help small and local restaurants. Got home to discover my order was wrong. Call the restaurant and was told I would receive a free pizza. They ended up closing due to the pandemic. After reopening I went in to claim my pizza and was informed by the manager they would only give the 1 they messed up on. I explained that isn't free that's just giving me what I paid for with no regards to your mistake. So he refused to live up to the promise that was made. As I sat waiting in my car for over 30 minutes I still never received what I paid for. I was told alot of orders ahead of me but in the 30 minutes 2 cars pulled on the lot. Funny thing is I'm local and go there 3 maybe 4 times a month. Average bill $50 to $75 dollars plus the tip. I don't care about the pizza truth is I don't really care much for pizza but I do care about integrity and the manager there has none. I won't go back nor will I ever recommend to anyone asking where's a good place to eat. I hope saving that $6 it cost to make a pizza was worth it. read more

My wife and I live in Purcellville and we go out to eat often in the DMV area. Anthony's is a place that serves consistently good food. We never had a bad meal at this restaurant. If you are a wine drinker, then Anthony's huge selection of great wines will impress. The prices are reasonable for the wine, and for that matter, the food too. The place is casual so you don't have to worry about dressing for fine dinning. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good meal and great wine. read more

I don't know how anyone rated this place anything higher then mediocre - and that would be generous. I even eaten here way too many times out of desperation and lack of restaurants in Purcellville and every time I swear its my last. Their tomato sauce is the worst EVER. Its like they take canned tomatoes, dump half a bottle of oregano in it and call it sauce. And its on like half their menu items. I agree with Melissa from Round Hill. I've eaten there three times (three strikes) and was disappointed on my second and third visit. The Chicken Parm had grilled chicken instead of breaded; and the pasta was watery, not drained properly. When I questioned the chicken dish, the server said that's the way it's made. The service was terrible. We never had the same server during my last visit. I actually wrote on the credit card slip that I wouldn't be back, and I won't. As a new resident of the area, I've been tempted to open a restaurant in Purcellville (28 years in the food biz). The town could sure use good one. Food is consistently below average, but there aren't many options nearby and it is consistent. Service is AWFUL. My wife went in with our two month old and tried to use a gift certificate a local friend gave us when she was in the hospital with the baby. The owner accused her of trying to commit fraud and claimed it looked like the certificate was reproduced. Who in the world would try to counterfeit a gift certificate for $45 worth of food from a local restaurant. Called the owner and he said it was his right to do whatever he wanted...ok then, good luck with your business. I imagine things must be bad if that is how you treat a customer. read more

We have been here a few times. It took a while to find something that I liked. The menu has many different things to choose from. I love the Chicken Marsala with linguini. The sauce is so flavorful and you get a good 'Italian helping'. I now get that dish every time we eat here. read more

I have been going to Anthony's for years and have nothing but great things to say. Service is friendly and quick, even when the place is packed. Food is always delicious and budget friendly. It was never a favorite of mine but my partner liked it so we would go there every month or two. On New Years he called at 4:30 made reservations for 5:30 they were not busy but when we arrived at 5:30 they said we did not have reservations. I was glad and wanted to go elsewhere but then they could serve us anyway. We were completely rushed thru our meal. The appetizer arrived with the salad almost at the same time. Before we had even had much of the appetizer the meal appeared they took the appetizer. The waiter hovered and when I was about 1/2 way thru my meal I put my fork down he instantly asked if I would like a box then produced one on the spot. We were out of there in 45 minutes. Glad to say we will not be returning. Food is ok but certainly not worth it. They still had 75% of their tables empty. read more

This is an ok place to go if nothing else is available. The gyro is NOT authentic, the meat comes from the freezer and is not carved fresh. When crowded this restaurant can be loud. read more

I have been eating here since they opened. The prices are HIGH.. But I still can't find a better steak and cheese anywhere else. The owner is a great guy who I enjoy talking to every time I stop by. Ordered Rigatoni but substituted sausage for meatballs. Sauce very salty and spicy. Meatballs were cocktail size and frozen. Very disappointed . I ordered a salad asked for no red onions but red onions were on top. Maybe next time I will try pizza it did look good read more

Not impressed. We had the calamari and mozzarella sticks for apps. The. Calamari was really rubbery. The meal I had the veal shank obviously previously frozen which was suppose to be served with orzo but came on a bed of what looked like Uncle Bens rice. The management in this restaurant is horrible! My daughter's tennis team went here for an end of season party. We arranged with management to have a party of 40. They only provided one server for our party and the meals came out sporadicly over 30 minutes. The person next to me finished their meal before I received mine. No one came to bus our table. We asked for a bin and started doing it ourselves. After the terrible service the manager said he was adding a $150 room charge to our bill. This was never discussed when the reservation was made. We would not have chosen this restaurant if it had. He refused to waive the charge and said he was involving the authorities. A happy event turned into an awful experience because of how poorly this place is managed. My family and many others on the team will never return to this restaurant because of the attitude here. We provided 40 paying clients to this restaurant all the manager was conderned with was his $150 room charge. read more
