Sadly I would love to give this local place more stars but I can't find a reason. It's not a destination restaurant unless you live nearby, which was a big reason for our stops there. But now we are seriously considering going somewhere a little further away. We like the approachable Italian, Greek menu. But the quality and performance in the kitchen needs real help. Fried Zucchini tastes frozen, my Chicken Marsala had sauce which was oily, and separated. My brother n laws salad entree barely qualified as edible as the greens were very dry and of poor quality ingredients. Service was just ok, but not offensive in any way. We want to see this place thrive, I think they should serve less on the menu and stick with what they do best, or at least hire a chef that knows how to run a kitchen. This is place is fine if you need somewhere close for a quick bite. The sandwiches and non-entree meals are pretty good values generally. As far as the entrees go, I haven't been that impressed. I've tried quite a few, but it seems that they like to use their spicy marinara sauce on everything! Sometimes they say that it's part of a meal in the menu, and other times they don't. Anyway, I really don't like that marinara, but it seems impossible to avoid! Best Totellini in town!!! Seriously - if you go here - try this dish! Great place for the locals to go for a quick bite to eat. This is a small restaurant and has a great "family owned" atmosphere. Stopped here with our five-year-Old granddaughter, who ate 1/3 of her cheese and sausage pizza. More than she usually eats. My wife had the cheeseburger with fries. Burger was juicy and fries were tasty, battered. I had the chicken shawarma, which was delicious. With those same battered fried. Anthony's has a big menu with a bevy of options - but it's a pretty small place. You know what that means: hit or miss. I'm giving them five stars because their middle eastern food is absolutely delicious. If you go for more mundane fare you may be disappointed or merely satisfied - they've got pasta, pizza, sandwiches - they seem fine. But to really appreciate what they can do try the Kabob Combo - hummus, rice, toasted bread, spicy grilled ground beef, skewered chicken, small green salad - and a tasty green sauce on the side. I order this every time, and every time I give thanks I can eat food like this in Purcellville. I love it. I crave it. You should try it. The chicken shawarma sandwich is also fantastic, which I do for lunch sometimes. I live three miles from here and have eaten a lot of Kabob Combos and shawarma sandwiches. Expect average fare if you do traditional foodstuffs, but try the middle eastern dishes for a surprise indulgence. And order extra green sauce...yummy! read more

This is the first place we visited when we moved to the area and it still holds a special place in our hearts. It's a friendly family restaurant with staff that seem to enjoy being there. Their enthusiasm helps make the dining experience very pleasant. We once showed up near closing time. I hate keeping people late so we turned to leave but they encouraged us to stay. We were glad we did because we had a lovely dinner as a result. The food has always been tasty, the portions are large, and the prices are reasonable. We inevitably end up with an extra meal out of our leftovers. The specials are always tempting and usually lure my wife. I usually go for one of several favorites (lasagna or one of their chicken dishes). They've got a small but interesting list of beers on draft. My wife loves their mixed drinks, especially the Cosmopolitan. read more

Excellent traditional Mediterranean cuisine. Tastey, fresh, and very warm dished when served. Tastey, chunky marina sauce served with Mozzarella sticks and stuffed fried jalapenos. Delicious, juicy meatball sub and tastey, properly cooked salmon with veggies. The only slip up was forgetting to serve the salad with the entre. This was caused by our waitress being reassigned to a party. So that part of the salmon order was missed. Would go again for the good eats. read more

I was here during the summer I would say this is one of my new favorite italian restaurants. The food reminds me of my trip to Italy with Classic Italian dishes that are to die for. I got the Rigatoni & Sausage which had onions and peppers in a spicy yet flavorful marinara sauce. I would have had a good dinner with my family if they didn't invite there friend. He and I got the same thing but he asked for no peppers or onions in his. And when the food came out I got his order by accident. And he was so rude to the waiter saying that I asked for no peppers or onions just like yelling him. And I'm like this nice waiter is trying to make a living and my families friend is yelling at him. Anthony's makes some of the best pizza that you will eat anywhere and at anytime. They have been our weekly pizza night place for almost 2 years and we just love this place. This is the place we go when we want pizza in town. Sometimes it is better than others-depends on how long it sits before it is brought to the table. The fresher the better. Sad to say it's back to mediocre. They survive because it's the only game in town for purcellville when it comes to italian and being able to handle more than a few tables. 50/50 in terms of ok. Chicken is rubbery, salads are super basic cafeteria grade. The wait staff is a crap shoot too - sometimes good and sometimes just young and inexperienced - good high school job provider it seems. They get away with all this because they have a full bar and no competition. Overpriced too. What I pay $90 for a family of four I can easily get in Leesburg for $55 or so and twice the quality and service at Giovannis. Anthony's is my last resort when I don't feel like cooking, don't feel like Dominoes, and I'm too tired to drive to Leesburg. There you have it folks. Oh and the desserts are cafeteria grade too. We had dinner last night at Anthony's. It is so nice to enjoy a nice dinner in a truly family friendly restaurant. I had the soup of the day which was minestrone and it really tasted like home made, full bodied and lots of flavor. My husband and I both had Mediterranean salads, mine with salmon. ThIs place is horrible. We ordered for delivery out at a venue that we were serving for a limo service. We have no way Driving into town, so we had to have it delivered. They forgot to send any utensils, napkins or plates Called them up to complain and they said they didn't know what to say Now I will say the mozzarella sticks were good, but the chicken fettuccine was some of the worse food I had ever seen. Very small portion and looked like it had been dropped on the floor. It looked so bad we refused to eat it. My advice is save your money. read more

Great food at great prices! My favorite by far is their calzone. It is a huge portion and only $5! The side marinara sauce is great too. They have a huge menu. I always want to try something new, but the calzone is so good for such a great price I have trouble forcing myself to get anything new. The only down side is the service. The last times we were there we ordered draft beer and put our empty glasses on the edge of the table, and it took forever for someone to come check to see if we wanted a refill. The last time we went, we had 3 different servers, all which weren't great. The first one who took our order, didn't write anything down and forgot our appetizer (but we at least weren't charged for it), then we had someone bring our food, then when we wanted to order dessert we had another different person take and bring that order. This evening was my first time eating at Anthony's. Our friends had recommended it and my wife had been once previously, so I gave it a try. We elected to call in our order and carry out. I was told our meal would be ready in 25 minutes and got there 25 minutes later. I had to wait an additional 20 minutes after I arrived, which didn't really bother me that much because they had a decent sized crowd dining in. The staff was not friendly, they were not rude either, but not very welcoming. What upsets me is, after waiting, the Philly cheesesteak I ordered from the menu was supposed to come with "Shredded Steak, Grilled Onions, Lettuce, Tomato, & Mayonnaise In a Toasted Sub Roll". What I received was shredded steak and onions on an un-toasted sub roll. That's right folks, it didn't even have cheese much less lettuce, tomato & mayonnaise. I am perplexed by how you can mess up something as simple as cheesesteak. I will not be a returning customer. read more
