The fact that this place is open so late is amazing. We were seated right next to the window with a great view of the lights on the block. The staff was attentive and well accommodating especially with my shellfish allergy. We ordered the premium meat for 4 and was delighted with the service , steaks and sides they had to offer. If you can't find it, look UPSTAIRS! The entrance is kind of hidden and looks like you're going into another place. We luckily saw the name in the windows or we may have given up. It's up a stairwell with no indication that you're heading the right way. Pretty good experience here food wise. A bit BRIGHT lighting wise (almost made it feel like a cafeteria, especially on the front side where there isn't the same beautiful decor as there is back towards the kitchen and bathrooms), so we didn't love that vibe but the food made up for it! The menu isn't too extensive so we just ordered a whole bunch of things to split. Everything was super flavorful except for the corn dish which didn't taste like much (and I LOVE a good corn dish). We were very underwhelmed by the lack of flavor. The beef bulgogi was delicious, as was the popcorn chicken. We could all barely eat the Cheese Bullmandoo - it said spicy sauce but the entire thing required a chaser of something not spicy. Be warned! The pork gyoza was delicious and would definitely get that again next time. We also got the cucumber salad which was a nice balance to the rich flavor of many of the other dishes. Maybe it's because I had such a craving for Japchae and their veggie version didn't blow me away, with fat glass noodles rather than the thin threads that I love, and a pretty basic somewhat sweet sauce. Kinda hard to find but it's on the third floor of 23 W 32 st. Need to walk up a kind of random staircase but once you find it, it's a treat! Cute interiors. Nice service. And good happy hour deals 5-8pm on weekdays I believe (double check the menu/website to verify)! We got a bottle soju for 10 dollars and popcorn chicken for 10.95 as happy hour specials. The popcorn chicken was in a very tasty sweet gochujang sauce and covered in nuts actually which was different but worked. It was really good but warning- it's not white meat. The unagi teriyaki was savory and delicious. It was served on a bbq grill that had an amount of fuel that burns fire the perfect amount of time to cook the eel. Since we were doing so much authentic Korean dining, I thought this fusion restaurant might be a good change of pace. I made reservations for late-night dining, around 8 pm...and when we arrived, there were plenty of empty tables. I asked for a seat by the window, but was told it was already reserved for another party...and the same with half a dozen seats. As it goes, some of these "best seats" were lefty empty by the time we finished eating (?!?). ANYWAY, let me go back a bit. This is a restaurant located in the heart of Koreatown...but hidden upstairs...with absolutely no sign on the outside building! We had to ask 2-3 different people on the street where this place was! OMG?? Then the stairway to the restaurant was quite...well, disgusting. However, as things go in New York, following that disgusting climb upstairs, the restaurant wasn't bad at all. The place is basically a hipster joint/gastrolounge, with dark, party lighting accents. I can tell that if they got rid of the current plastic partitions (Covid safety measures), the place would look quite cool. Looking at their raving reviews (almost 5 stars!), I can tell this is a popular late-night hang out. Since the menu featured largely Korean-American fusion tapas, we ordered several items: Kimchi Okonomiyaki (Korean-Japanese Fusion), Popcorn Chicken, Bulgogi Burger and Truffle Fries. I personally loved their Okonomiayaki the best. I simply love the addition of Kimchi to this Japanese original! Popcorn Chicken was very tasty...but it wasn't really "Popcorn". This tapas dish was huge, and the chicken chunks were so big that I only ate half of it! My husband seemed to enjoy the Bulgogi Burger and Truffle Fries. Service was good (at least at first). At one point, my husband managed to scare the waiter with his sardonic sense of humour lol, and after that, we had to flag down for service. Also, I noticed a birthday party in one corner of the restaurant, and this place really cranked it up for that...as in Party!!! Definitely a fun place. Overall, I thought this was a cool place with an interesting menu. Although I wasn't blown away by the Popcorn Chicken, I really loved the Okonomiyaki. There were various other items on the menu that I'd love to try as well, so I'd definitely consider revisiting in the future. read more

I loved going here until today. I was racially profiled by the 2 ladies in front. 2/15 at 6:30 pm. I just finished placing an order for pickup. When I walked in they looked at me worried. I then proceeded to show them my pickup order and simply asked for the restroom. They declined me because it was for customers only. I then decided to ask another worker for access to the bathroom and they recognized me and allowed me to go to the bathroom. I've never had this issue before , and was surprised. They usually fire and hire new people on a weekly basis but this shattered my heart. I loved going to this place for a smoked pork belly but I can't support a business that profiled me. read more

Fusion Korean place. Very busy in the Koreatown of Manhattan. I was looking forward to it due to the high ratings but left unimpressed. Maybe New Yorkers just have lower standards if Korean food? It's very thought inside and most of the clientele are younger, hippie non Asians. That alone should be a red flag for me. we ordered katsu chicken and bulging i fries for the kids, the spicy wonton and army noodle. I never heard of army hoodies before but it's just a glorified instant ramen soup with cheese added to the soup and cheap hot dogs and cheap luncheon meat in it. It was pricey at $29 and the portion size is enough for two ppl without a big appetite. One can easily make this at home with Nongshim or Jin instant taken for less than $3. The spicy Mandu was the best dish though it was s small portion at $12. The buldgogi fries barely have any meat on it. The katsu chicken portion was super small. Overall, I'm not impressed and will not go here again. They charged fruitily for us with four folks even though they said they charged gratuity for party of 5 and up. One tip: pay cash and u get 10% off, which I did as I was majorly disappointed in the quantity and portion size. Came to get some late dinner with friends (no drinks) Ambiance: 3 Not crowded but I definitely felt like the space they allotted per table was kind of small/cramped. They do have rolling glass panes to separate seating. Food: 3 Truffle fries were good, crispy! Corn cheese was just ok. Very basic tasting, minimal flavor and the corn to cheese ratio was off. Wayyyyy too much cheese and not enough corn. I was eating mouthfuls of cheese Got the bulgogi/rice cake mix which was pretty good The seafood soup (jam pong) was so salty and just inedible. Put simply, their lunch menu feels like simple and delicious Korean home cooking - protein on rice, topped with kimchi, spinach, seaweed furikake (seaweed bits on rice), and light mayonnaise. It's delicious, simple, well done, and a nice portion for $10 at lunch. It is honestly a lunch deal steal that will fill up most people and leave you happy with solid home-esque cooking. read more

Walk up to the third floor for this hidden gem in K-Town. The popcorn chicken was definitely a favorite for us all, super flavorful and crispy, topped with small rice crips. The sauce was slightly sweet and sticky, the perfect unique addition to the tender chicken itself. We also ordered the Bossam, which was quite tender. The tteobokki was also decent, and the fish ball soup is always great. The star of the meal was definitely the popcorn chicken. Their signature cocktails are also a must, we ordered the lychee and white peach. They came out in those plastic bags, with ice. They were ABSOLUTELY delicious, would come again. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. Interestingly enough she was the one that recommended to come here as she ate here many years ago before the pandemic and was blown away by the food. This time however was quite a traumatic experience. My wife ordered the lychee cocktail that came in a bag and let me tell you, it smelled and tasted like old dirty socks (best way I can describe it). Either that or dirty sink water. It was so bad after 1 sip my wife asked to exchange it for a simple beer instead, as you can't go wrong with that. Next up we had the popcorn chicken which wasn't crispy at all and tasted like something I could have bought at CVS and microwaved and added my own sauce to. We also had the unagi which had nice presentation but was extremely fishy and we couldn't even finish it. To top things off we were charged for the original sewer cocktail and the beer when we were assured this wouldn't be the case. This is the first bad experience I've had in Korea town in the near 20 years I've been eating here. You couldn't pay me to go back. So many better places all around to eat, avoid! Everything went well at this Korean spot. It starts out where you have to climb up three flights to get to this restaurant so please tell them that you need to use the elevator if you don't want to walk but once you're up on the second or third floor, you will have a great Korean food experience. I chose to order the two dishes. Plus you get one extra for free, we had the pork and squid, the cheesy chicken to start. Plus we had an order of the glass doodles with vegetables. The cheesy chicken is their specialty and it is incredible. I highly recommend it. The pork and squid was delicious too, and the spices were out of this world. You have to ask for rice if you want rice you actually don't really need it. Most people order the traditional way of eating Korean food with the big hot pot and the side dishes that you can cook food in it's a very good restaurant. read more

the food and ambience here are simply put, incredible. this small but vivacious restaraurant in k-town is tucked away on the 3rd floor of a building. we went for dinner on a thursday night at around 8:30pm and it was loud and crowded (with the peak of noise and bustle at ~9pm), but we were still able to be seated immediately without a reservation. they have a large selection of sojus and other alcohol; we just went for the classic peach soon haris, which never disappoint. we ordered family-style and got the following dishes (** = especially recommend): - **super creamy tteokbokki: wow this tteokbokki dish was to die for, the flavors are immaculate and the cheesiness and creaminess of this sauce paired so well with the soft tteokbokki textures. - **bulgogi tteokbokki: this was a really satisfying, flavorful mix of chewy tteokbokki and asian sauce, with sesame seeds adding a wonderful nutty crunch. the bulgogi was cooked well and the dish includes a hearty mix of yummy stir-fried vegetables too! - **spicy pork tteokbokki: another incredible tteokbokki dish; the pork was not very spicy but very flavorful otherwise and grilled perfectly. vegetable garnishes added a fresh touch and crunchy texture. - **sweet and spicy chicken: the chicken in this dish is cooked absolutely perfectly-- so juicy and tender, and the cheese mixed with the sauce was the absolute perfect sweet and savory combo with a tiny spicy kick. - smoked salmon carpaccio: one of our servers recommended this dish, and it didn't disappoint: the salmon pieces were extremely well-marinated with great flavor and they just melt perfectly in your mouth. - bulgogi: bulgogi beef which was grilled and seasoned well, mixed with a generous amount of veggies. good dish and flavors all around, but compared to the other fabulous dishes, was a bit lackluster. - smoked pork belly teriyaki: this dish had great, strong teriyaki flavors and the pork belly was cooked so well. though all the dishes were amazing, we were most satisfied with all the tteokbokki dishes we ordered-- such an incredible mix of textures and flavors with meats grilled to absolute perfection. the tteokbokki were interestingly shaped and super chewy and flavorful. depending on where you sit and at certain parts of the night, it can get extremely loud and hard to even hear yourself talking... nonetheless, i think back fondly on the vibes of the restaurant and night, and i'd love to come again soon! read more

I love this place. Located on the third floor. It's definitely more of a Korean fusion spot. It's good to come here and get drinks and order a bunch of food to share. While the portions are on the smaller side it's still enough to share and feel full. All the food has a lot of flavor and pairs really well with soju/beer. Just be aware it's really loud and crowded on the weekends. So sometimes the service can be a little slow. I would just order everything at once in that case. During the week it has a more relaxed vibe and low key if that is what you prefer. read more
