Having looked around multiple shops in the Bay Area we finally decided to go with Apex Marble for granite and marble purchases for our whole house renovation. They have great selection and very reasonably priced compared to others. We had 13 feet tall marble slab installed along fireplace in family room. replaced 12 feet long kitchen island countertop, laundry room and bathroom vanity counter tops. Just had to pick the stone in the store the rest was breeze. Raj had his crew come to our home to take measurements, couple of days to cut them for sink and finish (happened in their store) followed by installation a week later (1 day). The installation cost was almost 25% lower than what our contractor quoted. Overall a very pleasant experience. Now I'm working again with them for outdoor kitchen and cabinet countertops. Nothing has changed. The same friendly customer service and lots of good ideas shared which I had not thought about in first place. Would highly recommend this place. read more

I am a project manager and recently did a complete remodel on a condo in Los Gatos.. Apex did the quartz counters and island in the kitchen and a laundry area counter top and they look beautiful. The island piece was 4 X 10 and I really didn't think they'd be able to get the one piece up a long flight upstairs and inside without knicking walls etc. They did! Apex Marble had great customer service and a good selection of granite. Raj and his staff were knowledgeable and courteous. We were worried that we were going to need more than 1 slab for our counter tops but Raj assured us we could get it done with one and he was right. We were having a difficult time selecting the right granite and we kept changing our mind. They never hurried us and let us change our mind right until templating time. We did have an issue with installation but Raj came to the rescue and it all worked out. I like that they had plenty of staff to answer our questions and they weren't pushy. I purchased a prefabricated counter-top for the double sink vanity. Their price and installation seemed to be inline with the rest of the stores around. Their person came out and did measurements for the template. During installation day I was out but my general contractor was overlooking their work. Overall quality of installation and prefabrication deserves 1 star. Sink holes were cutout incorrectly with very uneven gap between sink boundary and marble boundary, which ranged from less than 0.5" to almost 1". Same was for the alignment of the counter-top to the back wall and the cabinet, on the left side bullnose extend1 3/8" and on the right it 2". From this it was very clear that despite previously taken measurements they did not use the template to properly cut the counter-top. Then it gets more interesting with Raj. My counter-top came with backsplash, which I asked to have delivered to later decide if I want to have it installed. For some reason, Raj remembered that I said no backsplash needed, but I only meant that no side splashes were needed. End result backspalsh was not delivered. Raj and I got in an argument of who said what. He want an additional $50 for the backsplash delivery - I disagreed. In the end he won and had to ask my contractor to pickup the backsplash. This to me shows how a potentially more serious issue will be dealt with should one arise. Reading other reviews I can clearly see a trend here. Not recommended. Definitely do your own research for outside installation. read more

We had spent several frustrating months researching countertop materials for our kitchen and bathrooms, and within half an hour of stumbling upon his store, and with a bit of guidance from the staff, found the perfect marble for our home. Most of the slab yards we visited had great slabs, but an overwhelming amount of inventory to comb through, with no prices on the slabs, and no one to help us. Raj makes things so easy for his customers - he has just the right amount of high quality slabs so as to not overwhelm someone with too many options, the prices are clearly marked, and he gives you all the help (or time alone to discuss) that you need. Any time we visited the store, we felt like his most important customers. His fabricators and installers are also true artists and committed to doing perfect work. They were on time, or called in advance to say if they would be slightly delayed due to another installation, they were respectful of our home, and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. Even several months later, we still get compliments on our countertops anytime someone comes to our home. Raj is simply one of those good, kind, honest, hardworking people that loves his work and loves to take care of his customers. We recently had to replace our Stove top and found upon receipt of the new one that it didn't fit into the existing cut out. I called at least half a dozen places and most of them weren't willing to come out for such a small job. Not only was Apex willing and able to come out to make the needed modification, they were able to do it immediately! I was stressing with thanksgiving right around the corner that I wasn't going to be able to get my new stove installed in time. Apex came out right away, made the cuts and the new stove fit perfectly! They laid down plastic on the floors before they did any work so there was no damage or mess. Apex gave us a good deal on or slate tile, however, they were over 4 hours late on delivery. I wouldn't complain about this normally, but we had hired two guys to install the tile and we had to pay them for half a day's work while they waited for the tile. We had confirmed the delivery time with Apex two days before, so we scheduled our guys accordingly. When I called to discuss this with Apex all they could offer was free $75 delivery on my next order. Why would I reward you with more business when I had a terrible experience the first time? We've done a lot of work on our house, and when things like this have happened with other companies, they offered to compensate us with more product or partial reimbursement on our original order. read more

We had checked locally, but our designer recommended we also look in San Jose and specifically recommended a few places including Apex. By the time we ended up at Apex, we are already knew more about the material we were interested in (Quartzite). So when we got to Apex and found a very large inventory we had no trouble finding a number of choices that we liked. After making our decision, we met with Raj. Our contractor was not going to be available for several more months, so Raj held our product and let us come back several more times to look at it. His pricing was also very fair. This would be a five star review but there were several minor hiccups. We had been told a specific time to expect the installers and they were a number of hours late. By the time they finished it was dark and it was impossible for them to see some of the imperfections in the stone that needed to be polished. They did have to come out on a second date to finish. Also if one of them seams was probably not chosen wisely, but that is possibly on us. Overall we feel that as stressful a process as this is, Raj and his team were fantastic and I would definitely use them again. Highly recommended. read more

They were terrific, prices were very fair and mostly I just developed good rapport with Raj. He's a total straight shooter, confident but not pushy. I checked out most all the other places in the San Jose area. I appreciated that Raj engaged, spent time with me discussing the process and generally put me at ease over a really big spend for us. In addition, we were able to do the kitchen job with one slab, it was tight, but Raj spent the time working through the details. We ended up buying the White Macaubas quartzite and were really happy with the results and especially the installation team. In the spring of 2014, my wife and I searched through all of the usual spots near Junction Ave. in search of the right piece of marble and the right shop to help us cut/install our new kitchen counters...luckily we wandered into Apex Marble. From the moment we entered the shop, Raj's knowledgable and straightforward approach, friendliness, and good humor made us feel right at home. Within a short amount of time, we had settled on 2 beautiful pieces of Carrera Marble, a reasonable installation fee, and a fast project schedule (which was well-adhered to). Unlike many of the other shops who wanted to sell us a slab and then point us in the direction of a cutter/installer who might be able to help us, Apex Marble offered the logical solution; offer both material and labor at a fair price. Neither material nor labor was cheap, but we ended up with a beautiful kitchen counter that we'll enjoy for many years with no regrets. Last month we purchased around 450 ft^ of porcelain tile from Apex Marble. Again we found a material we liked at a competitive price. Juanita was very helpful throughout the entire transaction and quick to email and/or call with any updates or questions. We are now in the midst of having two bathroom counters made by Apex Marble, and I have no doubt we will be similarly pleased by the results. There are some other issues that I am not very happy at this point. Going to the store tomorrow to see if they are able to giving me a good answer. So, this is my second review and I really do love this place! I bought tile from my downstairs bath and laundry room. First, I found tile that I had not seen any place else. Second, lovely, helpful people who care about customer service. I placed my order and it arrived right on schedule. But... I neglected to order the bullnose pieces. There was a little mix-up with the pick-up- the warehouse said the tile was in, so Jorge drove over especially to pick it up. It was not in after all (this was a Friday and it arrived Monday). They offered to give me a discount for my trouble! Very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this place to friends. Updated: After this post Raj called and gave us a discount for their mistakes. Because they are willing to work with their clients when they mess up I will adjust my stars. I will say our counter top looks nice and this is the reason for the 2 stars. We were promised an install day, had someone take off work to meet the guys there, at the end of the hour window with still no one there, we were told that they changed our install date. We were never notified about the change and we lost half a day of work by their mistake. Since Apex was at fault for their lack of communication, I requested a discount since it was Bull to pay full price for an install when they messed up. Over a week later we are still waiting for the owner (Raj) to call us with our new total. If you are a stay at home person and can deal with the change of install without notice, use them. Otherwise, I would say find a different place. Also, you have to request the extra part of the slab or they will re-sell it. No discount for using only 1/2 so be sure to ask for the rest or they will be making nothing but profit. read more

My husband and I had a terrible time here. We ordered 3 different tiles with Raj for our two bathrooms. This was literally the worst experience that we have ever encoutnered. Here are my true and real reasons: 1) Raj not only ordered the wrong tiles twice, none of his tile arrived on time. We had to wait for extra weeks to finally get our tiles. 2) Raj even told us it's not his fault that he ordered the wrong tile and it didn't deliver on time. (how could this not be his fault! I still don't get that!) 3) We also found out that his tile isn't cheap in comparsion to other tile shops around. It's so annoying that we found out other place was so much cheaper than his after we purchased the tiles. 4) We told him and his team about how big our bathrooms were, they couldn't even do the calculation in terms of how many boxes of tiles that we should pruchase. They aren't professional at all. 5) Even our contractor refused to get tile from Raj because he kept our contractor waiting for hours in so many occasions. I don't know about others but this is one place that I wouldn't recommend. You can buy the tiles else where with much better deal and costumer service. read more

I've been looking around for quartz slabs for the remodeling of my house and I've had a lot of concerns and questions regarding how to choose a nice quartz slab with high quality, how many slabs will be needed for my kitchen and vanities, how to keep the seams as few as possible, how to make sure the measurement to be precise, and most importantly how well the fabrication work will be done. I visited a couple of marble stores but I still wasn't sure whether I should proceed with their services or not until one day I stumbled upon Apex Marble. Raj was the one who helped to answer all my questions and his expertise has raised my confidence and so convinced me to proceed. Apex Marble has variety of choices for the materials, I was very excited to find the quartz slabs that I've been looking for and he recommended the worldly famous brand in very high quality. And then he provided the estimation and explained the workflow from template taking, layout review, to fabrication and installation, so I got to understand what to expect next. Raj was very responsive and I always got immediate responses from him whenever I called or texted him with questions. I'd say the customer service from Apex Marble is very good and their price is reasonable for quartz slabs in high quality. After my contractor finished installing all my kitchen cabinets and vanities, I called Raj and he sent Maurice to visit my house for template taking. Maurice was very responsive and he did very good job in precise measurement. And soon enough, he met with me for template layout review. Not only he provided the solution to keep only one seam to the countertop of my kitchen, but he was also trying his best to keep the veins on my quartz slabs continuous for the center island so that the waterfall would look stunning. He told me it would take 7 to 10 business days to complete fabrication and then he did notify me that the fabrication was done exactly on the 7th day after layout was reviewed and approved. And then he came to my house for installation on the right next day. I have to say that Maurice and his team had done amazing job on fabrication and my center island in waterfall style looks great!
