There aren't many places to eat in the area so choices are limited but this place is one of the more solid. I usually stick with a burger and fries and that's pretty good. They have a station in the dining area where you dress it up however you want. The fries are cut in a "sidewinder" which is like a thick curly fry then breaded and fries. They are probably my favorite thing here and are really filling if you just pop in for a snack. You get a lot. read more

We were visiting from Chicago and on our way to Cades Cove we decided to stop here for lunch. What a hidden gem! The entire staff was extremely friendly and welcoming from the second we walked in, and the food was outstanding! I had the chicken salad sandwich and fries as a side. The sandwich was full of flavor and the fries were thick, crispy, seasoned to perfection and some of the best I have had! We were in the area for about 4 days and it was the best meal we had. I wish I could remember the ladies name at the register as she was so incredibly sweet and checked in on us throughout our meal. While you are there, be sure to stop by the condiment cow for some freshly squeezed condiments . My only regret is we didn't try the desserts, but there is always next time! read more

The pies were pretty good, but we don't plan to waste another meal or dollar here again. $60 for 3 burgers and a pork sandwich. $5.99 of that was a large order of fries. Excellent food with traditional menu that is well executed. The home made apple fritters are amazing. The wife and I's go-to are the breakfast bowls on the porch before cruising down through the smokies in the summer for a cruise. Me and my family consisting of 9 of us just ate here and the food was amazing. Everything we ordered was exceptional. I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was so good. My wife had a grilled cheese and tomato soup and let me say it took me back to my childhood. The cheese was so thick and cooked to perfection. My sister had a burger and it was perfection. Oh yeah the fries, they we so so good. We were pleasantly surprised after being in pigeon forge for a week, this was the best place we had eaten. This is a fabulous cafe with a LOADED topping bar for your bun choice meal! Had the sweet potato fries and they were cooked perfectly. We split The Godfather and it was enough food for the two of us and we had room to enjoy the fried apple pie, which did not disappoint. It was so flakey and held just the right amount of filling. Arrived after a 4 hour drive, checked into our hotel and was trying to determine where to eat. This amazing little gem was right down the street and since we were hungry, decided to give it a try. And I can honestly say it was AMAZING! The staff was so very friendly (even though here they were having to work on Thanksgiving) and they were so attentive to my special requests regarding my selection. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and my husband had the bacon cheeseburger. Both of us had the sidewinders and it was all excellent!!! We arrived after bike riding from Coulter's Bridge to this especially friendly, casual restaurant. We sat under the coveted deck and recovered with a drink before going inside to order our breakfast. The menu is simple but will have your needs and cravings covered. It's an order at the counter and they'll bring it to you when it's ready. The price were fantastic. I ordered the scrambled egg platter for $8.99 ~ pretty sure it was the most expensive choice. Anyway.. though we were a large group ~ the orders came out efficiently with one couples' order falling short of perfection ~~ they were given a refund promptly. The food was GOOD and plenty. The staff was on point and we rode back happy and fueled. It's a Village with lots going on - a beer garden, live bands, desserts, ice cream.... I have no complaints. Clean restaurant, extremelly polite hosts, food was delicious, made with love, and very reasonably priced. This was the first place we tried on our trip to the Smoky Mountains and it really set the precedent for our visit. Made the hour and a half trek to try this place today based off a review My Mother in Law saw online. Nice little location in the foothills of the Smokies with various shops. We ordered Burgers and Fries all around. Sidewinders are what they call the fries and a small order is enough for two people. I had The Godfather with Bacon and a Fied Egg and it was huge meal. A burger and fries will have you leaving stuffed Inpromise you. All in all it was a great meal with friendly service. read more

Strictly speaking for the tourist trap store next door. The fudge is so so so so goooood! And they have so many flavors! But don't get too excited. You won't get far. And I found the service to be not so helpful. Please pardon the venting session but I left feeling peeved. So peeved. I think the cranky storefront ladies might need to take more smoke breaks maybe. They have this limit where you can only sample a total of 3 fudge flavors. And at first I'm like ... okay, I get that. You don't want little kiddos standing in long lines tasting a bazillion flavors which takes all day and then they don't buy anything. Enter me. You know, I bring a wallet when I shop and I love to spend lots of local dollars. Well, I stopped in and was looking for a specific nutty flavor recently. And they have such a great selection with all different kinds of nuts which narrowed it down to 4 different fudges for me. Unhappy Grandma over the counter just glares at me when I ask if she could make an exception for me and allow me to sample just 1 more. Because seriously. I'm looking for something in particular and I'm ready to buy over a pound of fudge actually but I really must taste first. Oh nooo! They strictly adhere to their limit of 3 samples. What a perfect little cafe! We ate here two separate occasions while we stayed at Dancing Bear Lodge and it was just absolutely perfect. The food was so delicious and the staff could not be more polite/kind if they tried. The staff is honestly what made our experience so wonderful. You can tell they really love their job and they love meeting all sorts of different people. It was such a treat to come across their acquaintance. What a lovely experience all around! Special shoutout to Lance (the assistant manager) who went above and beyond for us - always checking to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our experience. Me and my family came here for dinner after a long hike. The food was incredible. I got a grilled cheese sandwich, with american cheese. I split some fries with my mom. Everything tasted amazing. Everyone seemed to like everything they got. They also have a bunch of humorous signs hanging up on the walls that you can buy, which was also cool. Great place to eat! This lovely place is right off highway 321. When we got out of our car the delicious smell of smoked meat filled the air. We were ready to eat lunch. It is a place where you order up at the cashier then the food is brought to you. My husband ate the chill special and I ordered their fried chicken sandwich. The price range was average. My hubby said that the chili was good. My chicken sandwich was really good but for the price it did not come with fries. What I liked most about Apple Valley cafe is that is had three separate shops to shop at, a country store which had many items that are unique to the area including specialties such as honey, jams, picked items, homemade soaps and the like. There was also a furniture store with home decor, leather purses, shoes etc. Lastly, a coffee shop, with their home brew flavors. I did not go inside but saw the coffee bean flavors sold in the country shop. It is definitely worth your time to check this place out. read more

First time being here. Service was great. Atmosphere was good. Food was okay. Price was not good. I've had better food elsewhere. I'm not saying it wasn't good, I'm just saying that for the price I paid I was expecting more of a gourmet burger. Meat appeared to be a frozen patty. Mine was burnt crispy (can't tell them how to cook it). Fries was really good but I expected more than five for $3. For the price of $26 I dined with an extra drink. I believe we had the super RUDE employee, our order was delivered, I received no food told her we were missing an order, she says "well you didn't pay for it". She brings food to table , I show her the receipt, she says "well it didn't get sent to kitchen". Coffee was not ready we asked about coffee, she snipes at us again, followed by when I finish with this customer I'll check. She then socializes with someone chit chatting, move on to talk with a co worker the finally come to check on coffee. It had not been started brewing. We ate twice here during our week in town. The food was great - fish sandwich and fried apple pie shake in particular. Good salad options too. Best is that they had outdoor seating with patio heaters that made observing covid protocols very easy. If you have kids, there is a big space for them to move around across the parking lot and even some lawn games set up. This place has really good food. I got the mom burger with bacon, my husband got The Godfather with pimento cheese and bacon, and my toddler had the chicken tenders. We were all very pleased with our meals. The sidewinders are delicious!! The sweet potato fries are ok. Just beware that every topping you add is 2.99, which is outrageous. My husband added three things without knowing they cost that much extra and we had a bit of sticker shock with our almost $60 tab, so I took away a star for that. read more
