So the fact I have to complain is sad. First I would like to say Gretchen absolutely amazing, she was kind and willing to help. The manager William was, nasty, mean, rude, and denied about a phone call with door dash about the missing food even though I was on hold while they were talking with William. Long story short don't complain about your missing food, undercooked steaks, and cold entrees. Otherwise you will be treated poorly. I don't recommend eating here ever. read more

Worse order app, service, & food I've had in a long time. After bouncing & bumping through their online order system I arrived right on the time they said my order would be ready. I stood at the take-out station for 15 minutes while they walked by and ignored me. Finally an employee inquired and then checked my order saying it would be ready soon. 20 minutes after the ready time, they gave it to me. No silverware (as requested) nor napkins. French-dip was soggy and the dipping sauce tasted like brown greasy watered down fat. I deleted my Applebee's app right afterwards. read more

Seems to be a theme here on yelp about this place. As described in the most recent posts, I walked in, sat in the bar area and wasn't acknowledged for 10 minutes. There are 22 customers in here, it's 4pm and I've counted 8 servers and the bar tender came out from behind to take my order. I just wanted to say out of all the times I have come to eat I have never felt so disappointed and disrespected. when I asked for a manager they never came to speak with me. the server I had did nothing but continue to hit on me and kept asking for my number. when I told him to stop he seemed visibly upset and annoyed. I walked in and sat at the bar (which was not busy). There was one bar tender at a small bar with maybe 5 people sitting at it. I sat for 10 minutes watching him walk back and forth and somehow never looked at me or seemed to notice I was there. I finally walked up to the end of the bar where two different employees asked if they could get me anything and I replied (yes a drink would be nice). They said the bar tender would have to do that. Long story short I finally realized the bartender had an earpiece in and he was on the phone with someone? I had to wave him down to finally get a beer. I sat drinking my beer for 30 minutes and he was still on the phone on his earpiece the entire time. At one point I heard him say "I have to stop this conversation because I forgot to put an order in because you are stressing me out ". He is still on the phone on his earpiece with whoever he is talking to and I have now been here for 40 minutes. This place needs some serous attention and management watching over these employees. This review is exclusively for picking up/delivered orders, since I haven't eaten in at this applebees in a solid year due to covid and because last time I went a simple dinner with friends took almost 3 hours because of abysmal service times. Firstly, the food is fine. It's nothing special, but it's about what you would expect from an Applebee's-casual, "bar food" like, inoffensive. The prices on the other hand, are slightly offensive. That's not even factoring in their ludicrously high doordash fee (literally the highest of any place in Anchorage, at almost 10$, before the delivery and service fee and tipping the driver) The food is equally as highway robbery-y. If you happen to be doing the 2/30$ deal, I would encourage taking advantage of that, because for separate entrees, you're looking at at least 50-60$ for two people, not including appetizers, desserts, or any kind of drinks. And trust me, when you see the hole in your wallet, you'll wish you'd gotten those drinks. read more

Came here for lunch on my sons request. Walked in and were seated promptly. Took a bit just to even get drinks. We ordered an appetizer of spinach dip. Came to the table while no one was there. No clue how long it was sitting there before we got back from the bathroom. Not to mention EVERY SINGLE CHIP was in shambles! Like someone took out all the pent up anger they ever had on my order of chips. Finally got our order in. Food didn't take long. The portion size however was crazy. My 6 year old son had more food than I did! And what I ordered (meat and potatoes) was tasteless. The beef was over cooked and flavorless. There was also a puddle of water under my food. When I made the waitress aware of the issue, there was no offer to fix or replace it. Just a discount. I'm still hungry up in here! Turns out they took it off the bill. Still not what I wanted. I would have given them more stars even if the replacement food was bad, but I never even got the option to choose a different meal. No one ever asked me what I wanted. Smh. I've been to this Applebee's several times and the food and service was always good. My boyfriend, 2 year old and I waited at least 3 minutes before anyone came to sit us down on a Tuesday afternoon and was not busy at all. Our server was Donald and he had no emotion, seemed very annoyed he had to work and barely spoke when we ordered our food. When our food was brought to us, he didn't come back and check on us until we were done eating and prompted us to pay on the little kiosk on the table which was very filthy from the previous guests. He seemed mad he had to clean it off and didn't come back to even offer a box. Definitely wouldn't recommend this Applebee's read more

My wife and I had lunch here today. Service was excellent and is enhanced by the team method that they use to deliver your food. If the kitchen brings the order up and any waiter or waitress at the order window brings it out to you. This ensures that your food does not get cold sitting there if your server is busy taking an order from other customers. Excellent system! They would was well prepared and tasty. It was served with ample portions for a lunch menu. Everyone was friendly and efficient. The Kitchen Manager was serving diners about their food and how they liked its taste and preparation. I decided to give this place a try with a friend. I haven't been to an Applebee's since I was living in North Carolina a couple years back. The negative reviews from others left a lot to be desired, but I am always one to give a business a chance so we came in around lunchtime. The place was moderately packed but not too crowded. We were seated right away upon entering and was given a corner booth for a clear view of the restaurant. The seating and bar area is pretty much the same like any other Applebee's locations, but fortunately it was clean and not too chaotic. Our waitress was very friendly and was quick to take our orders. I decided to order the choice-of-two lunch special which was a House Salad with bacon and blue cheese and the 4-cheese Mac and Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. My friend decided to try out the Thai Shrimp Salad which had grilled shrimp, Asian greens, wonton strips, edamame, almonds, Thai peanut sauce, and Asian-style vinaigrette. My order was not bad, but it wasn't exactly bursting with lots of flavor either. My friend enjoyed her salad and finished it off. We only had to wait ten minutes for our orders to arrive which was pretty good considering how many customers there were around 12:30PM. The menu changes constantly every few months for promotional items and I noticed some new additions since my last visit at the NC location. Appetizers available include the Cheeseburger Eggrolls (ground beef, cheddar, onions, pickles, and their House sauce), Sweet Potato Fries with choice of Sriracha chile lime, BBQ bacon ranch, or maple-flavored cream cheese sauce dips, and the Salsa Verde Beef Nachos (spicy queso blanco, cheddar, sour cream, pico, and fresh jalapenos). Steaks like Top Sirloin cooked to order, Bone-in Pork Chops, Cedar Grilled Salmon, and Double-Glazed Baby Back Ribs are some of the items available on their fire-grilled menu. Some of the notable additions as far as sandwiches, entrees, and desserts go are the Triple Hog Dare Ya (pulled pork, ham, bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy onion strings, and House grill sauce on ciabatta bread), the All-Day Brunch Burger (bacon and onion seared into the beef patty topped with a fried egg, crispy hash browns, American cheese, and ketchup), the Hot Shot Whisky Chicken (whisky onions, mushrooms, peppercorn, and rosemary pan gravy with a side of cheddar-jalapeno topped mashed potatoes), and the Cracker Jack Banana Cheesecake (a slice of banana-flavored cheesecake sprinkled with Cracker Jack caramel popcorn). Aside from that, most of the menu is typical of what you would find in a franchise like Applebee's. Our overall experience was okay despite the food being average. I decided to go with three stars rather than two for the friendly service and the short wait for our meals. I warned him. But despite the shitty reviews, Big Papa wanted to have his Father's Day meal here. When all was said and done, he gave his meal 1 star. My meal was a 3, for an average of 2. This is just not a good Applebees. It's small, poorly lit, poorly staffed and the cooks are clearly struggling. Don't get a steak from here because I think their grill master must be multitasking rather than focusing on making a proper steak. Baked potato was undercooked. App was tasty but crazy greasy. Gotta say their seasonal 3 Pig sammich was really, really good. Good enough that I might be enticed to pop in once more to grab one before it phases out. Other than that, I'll pass. By far the worst Applebee's I have been to for food and semi-service. The server seemed new, so I won't knock her for that, but she was just so annoying when it came to ordering, she kept coming back every minute or two and we just hadn't looked at the menus yet. I ordered the 7 oz sirloin and it was one of the nastiest steaks I have ever had from an Applebee's. It was hard to cut, more on the rare side than medium rare and it tasted like it wasn't fully defrosted and/or had been frozen for way to long. The veggies were just okay at least they were cooked. For the extra $1.99 for sauteed mushrooms I barely had enough to cover my steak. I won't be coming back to you Applebee's for a steak, I will definitely go to one of the steakhouses. I can't believe your prices for steaks are up to $20.00 almost! So not worth it. read more

Our waiter Ferris was one of the kindest most hospitable server I've ever had in Anchorage hands down the servers in this restaurant Brady most 5 star $$$$ restaurants and definitely above the 49 th brew house. I listened to many of the busy servers mostly male staff and they were exceptionally polite, friendly and detail oriented. I would have never guessed Applebee's service was so good. I definitely will be back and recommend them to anyone, and I'm not a fast food or cheap restaurants patron I was invited with other people to meet here. Whenever I go in to a place like this, I'm always reminded of that movie "Waiting".....which is def not a good thing. Movie was fun enough though :-) As other reviewers have mentioned, they went here during a lapse-of-better-judgement, same was true for our party. We arrived around 3pm on a Sunday, it was pretty dead. So the fact that the service was pretty slow was a strike. The service was mediocre other than that. Our waitress didn't mess up what we ordered. But also didn't win any points when one of our party asked about an item that they had requested earlier, but hadn't received in a timely turn around, and the waitresses response was "Oh I get ditsy when it's this slow"......come on, really? The menus are misleading, makes the food look way bigger. I ordered some Texan burger, but got something the size of Connecticut. The Nacho appetizer was decently sized, but felt more like a lettuce salad with some chips mixed in there. The desert was dry and the sensation was like I stuck a wad of peanut butter in my mouth. But hey, it's Applebee's, should've known better in the first place. Your $$ is better spent elsewhere in town. If you just have to go to a chain restaurant, I'd say either go to Red Robin or Buffalo Wild Wings. read more

Have not been to an Applebee's since the food and service fell to rock bottom at the East Anchorage location. Understandably it soon went out of business. With that in mind, it took a while for me to try the Tudor Rd. At C Street location. Had the occasion to be in the area shopping at Lowes, so stopped in for lunch on a Thursday. Pleasantly surprised by the 2 for lunch special offering any 2 items. I chose a Southwest Chicken Salad and 1/2 of a Clubhouse grille. Both were very good. Service was friendly, quick, efficient. I even went back on Saturday with my Son. Lunch special is only Mon-Fri, so I tried the brisket tacos. Once again Applebee's scored well on taste, price, and service. P.S. I love being able to pay at the table on the user friendly pads. No waiting for a ticket. read more

Orders 2 for 30 with my dad, waited 30 minutes for two burgers and wings which was okay but when we got our burgers I asked where the wings are and the waitress under her breath said shit, she came back in thirty minutes with the wrong wings, then when a cook came out with the food we had finished our main course(wings were the appetizer) and then wanted to leave, we got a to go box and a 50 dollar meal for what should have been just 39.29, I'm disappointed, we had heard others around complaining about the same waitress. Haven't been to this Applebees in a very long time because 1st and foremost the service has sucked for years. Has been very very slow. I decided to grab a curbside to go order that I placed online. Was happy to see they offered ordering online, paid online, tip online, boom done. My pickup time was scheduled for 5:15pm, I arrived at 5:10'ish, and within a couple of minutes they brought my order out. Prompt, fast and courteous. My drive home was about 30 minutes but the food arrived warm, so that's good. I ordered the 4-Cheese Mac & Cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders. My hubby ordered the 1/2 rack BBQ ribs, loaded mashed potatoes and garlicky green beans. I also ordered a side of maple pecan mashed sweet potatoes and we both had a side salad. My meal with the chicken tenders was delicious, very tasty chicken tenders. My husband said his ribs were just "ok" the sauce wasn't what he cared for. I must say those maple pecan mashed sweet potatoes were like a treat! All in all it was very good. read more

The queso was room temperature and had the consistency of soup. 12 ounce ribeye I ordered seem to have either been cooked in the microwave or steamed and then threw on the grill for a couple seconds, it was grey. I would give this no stars if I could. I went there last night as I'm in from out of town. I figured with the Applebee's name I can always count on the food being good. I always order the same thing because I love it. Last night was the chicken fajita rollup. This whole restaurant is just a cluster of a mess. I ate in the bar. The manager was walking around to see how everyone was after I received my food and my fajita rollup was made completely wrong. It was thrown together with the sauce inside instead of on the side for dipping. I told him this is the first time I've had it made incorrectly and he said he would check into it and get back to me. He never did. And the food was much too sloppy and thrown together to eat. I also ordered one dessert to go but it accidentally two were ordered on the little computer ordering device on the tables. I flagged the waitress to tell her that I don't want two but only one. She said she would fix it. Moments later another server came to my table with two of the desserts for there. I had to explain that they again we're only supposed to be one dessert and it was supposed to be to go. Someone put it in a to go container in the kitchen and didn't put the lid on the sauce and so it spilled all over me once I got into the car. So not only was the dinner inedible but the dessert was as well since it was all spilt out into the bag. The waitress even mentioned when I was complaining about all the errors that the manager is a tyrant but he pretends to be nice when the owner is around. This place is a mess and needs major help.
