Me and my husband went here for dinner got there at 7:45 & was seated as soon as we walked in. Waiter comes and takes our order, and we waited over 50 mins to get our food. Then, the order comes out and my husbands was wrong, he had ordered the mashed potatoes and got Mac & cheese, he decided not to make a big deal about it and just keep it. Before the waiter walks off we asked for some A-1 sauce for our steaks. 10 minutes go by and he still hasn't came back and so I see him in the back and approached him, we need A-1 sauce and he snaps off "I have other customers to attend too, you will have to wait". We then asked for a manager , at which she comes out we explain everything that just happened and she apologized and went and got us the A-1 and my husband mashed potatoes. So, the time we ate, our food was cold. The people beside us got their food before us and they complained how their food was cold and had to send it back after waiting nearly a hour to get it. Then, we asked for our check which the waiter brought but, left before I could give him our payment, had to wait another 10mins before I finally took the check to the front and have the guy up there cash us out! This place is awful, they are rude, wait time is ridiculous considering they wasn't even that packed, & the food is not that good! I will definitely never go back! read more

We had 5 in our group and they decided to sit us at the high top tables at the bar . I proceeded to move one of the tables so we all could sit together, the bar tender stop me and said to not move the tables. I told him that we had 5 and he said that we would have to sit separate. The restaurant had about 6 tables with people not close to being full. It was at lunch 12:15. There is a reason . A bar tender with his ball cap turned around backwards which is not very professional to start with . Anyway poor service. Food was fair , will not return. My husband suggested we do Curbside to Go. We had done this before since Covid and it was pretty good. It was my birthday and I was a bit disappointed. We splurged a little on the steaks and ordered the 8 oz. Steaks. They were very grisley. Wasn't able to eat but half if that it was awful. I have never had such an experience. I'm originally from Michigan and I was out in North Carolina visiting family. We had a party of 9 including one baby. We show up and was greeted by the host. I forgot his name but I believe it started with an N and he had black longer styled hair and was a bit heavier and looked to be about in his 20's. We told him how many we had and he said it would be about a 20/30 minute or even longer which was fine with us and we told him we didn't mind waiting. So then he proceeded to tell us again that he didn't know how long the wait was and we told him that's fine we can wait. Then yet again he says something again trying to get us to leave and mentions the wait again and that we don't have masks on after talking to him for 15 minutes as a last resort to try and shove us out the door and points to a sign on the host stand that shows the rules about the coronavirus. So I start reading them and it does say masks are not mandated but recommend so I pick up the sign and I try showing it to my mom and the guy rips the sign out of my hand and says "I'm not playing games" and at that point I got a little fearful because I wasn't sure if that was a threat or not. So I asked him if he was the manager (which he clearly wasn't) and told him to go get the manager because the situation was getting out of control. In the meantime we did go get our masks out of the vehicle because we were so hungry we wanted to come in and eat. So after talking to the manager the same host let in a couple without masks which made us confused but whatever....Once we eventually made it to our tables the server started coughing every time she passed our table on purpose so at that point we just got up and left. My sister and I came here after seeing a movie at the Grand. We ordered our food and everything was great. Our original waitress was clocking out so we got handed to another waitress/"bartender" since we were ordering some drinks. Cool. We got a drink to split, a "Tito's Blue Raspberry" as advertised, ended up with a what tasted like a watered down blueberry slushy with a shot of nothing, no alcohol. Whatsoever. We don't like to complain, but felt if we were going to pay for a drink, it should taste like a modicum of alcohol was in it. A few minutes later, we asked for a shot to put in our, what we assumed, alcoholic beverages & also put in an order of 3 quesadillas to-go. We are there for at LEAST 30 more minutes (at this point we had only paid for meal & previous drinks). We hadn't been approached by ANYONE letting us know "your food will be out soon" or anything. Our waitress had walked by a few times to serve the table behind us. We decide to hand it over to a higher power, & if it wasn't done by time we came out of the rest room, we would just leave. MIND YOU, WE WOULD BE WALKING OUT WITH A SHIT DRINK (unpaid for) & SHIT SERVICE by the 2nd waitress we were handed to. We are honest people who do not put that kind of behavior into the world because we would know what would come back to as if we did. We come out of the rest room, the 3 appetizer quesadillas were still not ready, so we decide to walk out. We get in the car, & all of a sudden the "waitress/bartender" miraculously appears and approaches us at our car with 4 other employees behind her & confronts us on trying to "dine n dash". I tell her "we had not been approached by you or anyone else saying our food was ready or even taking a few Minutes longer than expected. So we walk back inside with snarky remarks coming from behind us & continue to wait for our order to be done. My sister hands her the method of payment. A manager approaches us; stands with an attitude near us while we CONTINUE to wait for our order. And during the 5 minutes we are waiting for our order, my sister has her vape in hand and couldn't help but overhear the manager asking another employee, over & over, if they "have their vape". My sister puts her vape in her purse as we again, continue to wait. As soon as it's in her purse, the snarky manager ACCUSES my sister of stealing the other employees vape. GROSS! & the employee proceeds to be more accusatory towards my sister as my sister is searching for her vape and the manager claims hers "has a red heart on it". My sister pulls her OWN vape out of her purse. After my sister proves she has her vape, & her vape ONLY, we finally get our order. My sister gets her card back, tells the waitress (after she tries to hand her the order & receipt), there will be no tip & we will not be eating that. We get up and walk out, again, with snarky remarks. We are 99.9% sure, that the order was NOT put in until we were seen walking out the door. & mind you, the ONLY thing we would have walked out the door without paying for, was the shitty, no alcohol havin' ass drink. Y'all, it is clear these employees were looking for a fight and something to bitch about. If we had something in hand to walk out with & not paid for, that would be understood. & even if we were walking out & hadn't had ordered anything else, was that kind of treatment really necessary? The way we were being spoken to, you could honestly just tell they were feeding off of it. And even though we were defensive on our end, they were not understanding one bit. SEVERE lack of customer service here. I am able to look at both sides of an argument. And while I am able to understand the severity of it on their end, it's important to keep professional in these types of situations, for example, not accusing a customer of stealing someone else's personal property. Especially a manager. If a negative 5 stars existed, this would be the epitome of a negative 5 star review. This is always a hindsight 20/20 situation, there are so many things that we're left unsaid, simply because we are not confrontational people. We write this review because we felt the guilt of walking out without not paying for that drink, but this kind of behavior towards customers, let alone, humans is intolerable & unnecessary. But we are also not going to tolerate being demeaned & insulted like this. Thank you for taking the time if you read this. Ordered the 8 oz sirloin with broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was the toughest piece of meat I've chewed in a super long time. There is prime grade, then choice grade, then there's select grade. This steak didn't qualify for even select grade. I mean my jaws are sore. read more

Bad food, typical sports bra food but worse. Literally, it's soo unhealthy and nothing is memorable. I know they have the half off appetizers deal at night, so I guess come here if you are craving some greasy food. Their drinks are generally pretty good though, so don't hesitate. They do have top and bottom shelves. Moz sticks, not good, cold. Quesadilla burger, legit, a burger in taco wrap. Shrimp Scampi Fetuucine, BAD. Greasy pasta, VERY small portion, very little shrimp and just a couple pieces of zucchini and squash, no thanks. I miss cheesecake factory. This is probably the worst restaurant in Winston Salem. The wait was ridiculous and the margarita I ordered was absolutely disgusting. The waitress was friendly the few times she interacted with our table. Do yourself a favor and drive a mile up the road and just go to Chilis, the food and service is way better and their margaritas don't taste like rotten limes. read more

i haven't eaten at an Applebees in a long long time, and the meal i had here was pretty subpar. the positive, the salad was good. however, the meal wasn't fresh. it was like it had been sitting for a while. the chicken wasn't hot, or fresh and the other people's meals also had some issues, such as, cold fries, and overall they didn't taste very good or look like the dishes pictured. the presentation was off... needless to say, i won't eat at another Applebees! read more

I have not been to Applebees in years. The only reason my husband and I went yesterday was to try there new bowls. I ordered the shrimp bowl. While it wasn't that bad, it has absolutely no sauce on it. Therefore it was rather bland. As far as the service is concerned when we arrived there was hardly anyone there and it was at lunch time. Several employees just past by use. After probably 5-7 minutes someone approached us and asked us what we would like for drinks. Then she came back a little later to take our orders. Had spinach/artichoke dip- too hot and it had flour tortilla chips with it- not a good mix, plus a thimble of salsa?? Ordered pasta with chicken--maybe 3oz of protein. Not impressed. Where to begin...the food was dry, tasteless and terrible. It didn't "sit well" on our stomachs and the chicken was a dry, desiccant slab of Michelin-grade rubber. The waitress unilaterally decided to add a 20% gratuity without asking, the table next to us wasn't cleaned after the (loud and obnoxious) group left 20 minutes before we did, the parking lot was nasty with old food, litter, etc. everywhere and the service was slow. I had a great experience at Apple Bee's last night! The food was GREAT & our Server Fox was even better! He brought us our food really fast and he made sure he made sure we were good throughout the entire night. In addition to his impeccable customer service, he went above and beyond by recovering my lost wallet. Worst experience in a long time. Server Fox was great. Food sucked. Manager spilled drink in my wife's lap an didn't do anything just stood there. Then told server my wife spilled here own drink. Only apologized after she was called out on it. Appetizer sucked steak was dry ribs where flavor less. Forgot to bring wife's salad. Never offered another side only to remove the 99 cent up charge. What happen? I went there on Saturday, Feb 2 with my mom and my niece. My mother and I are both vegetarians. I'm has hoping that I could get a pasta dish without meat nope, my only options were soup, salad, and bread sticks. My mother and I decided to split an appetizer, the spinach and artichoke dip with chips. The chips were small and broken, I remember getting bigger chips and they taste like they were homemade. Theses chips look like, and taste like they came from the store. the dip itself had a funny taste almost a watered down taste. My soup and my mother's soup was okay. This was a bad day for this Applebee's. Three of us in the party. I ordered the Stir Fry Sirloin. It came out missing the wontons and the sauce, and the waiter did not recognize it. Halfway through the meal, I found a 3 inch strand of black hair in my plate (not from our table!). Got a second plate (with the wontons and sauce this time). My wife ordered the Steak/Shrimp Parmesan, medium well. The steak came out red and bloody, and the shrimp was cold. Sent it back, and it was obviously microwaved to "fix" it, but the shrimp was barely warmed. That was the extent of our accomodations. Definitely not returning to this one. read more

You can not beat the bar staff who make you feel right at home from the minute you sit down. Food is great with a lot of selections, and combos for super cheap prices. The new fire grilled steaks and pork chops really added a step up to their menu. read more

My experience at Applebee's was bitter sweet, as we arrived the hostess greeted us pleasantly but then she turned around and conversed with her co worker and left us standing, it took her about five minutes to sit just me and my partner I'd be more comprehending if it was a larger party after that we had a wonderful waitress who attend us very politely. We ordered a steak and baby back ribs and mozzarella sticks as our appetizer, we got our appetizer in time that was probably the only good thing about the entire meal we sat there waiting for half an hour and I couldn't understand why the place was not busy at all and when I thought it couldn't get worst our entrees were unappealing my partners baby back ribs dish was messy it seemed like it was rushed but I wasn't gonna make a deal out of messiness but I just couldn't stay quite when my steak was over cooked, the cook intentionally placed my steak on the side so I couldn't spot the burnt side but it was pretty obvious when I took a bite out of it. I really regret not having taken a picture of my steak but i couldn't wait and had to send it back immediately I wouldn't recommend or go back anytime soon. read more
