Solid lunch stop yesterday while out doing errands. Apparently they have the NFL package because place was jammed with Eagles and Ravens fans. So lively and really LOUD ! Anyway I had a soup and half sandwich- Roasted red pepper soup with crab, very good, not great, and a half of a chicken salad club, giant! The chicken salad is also good, not great ( a little dry) but the bacon on the club was amazing. My partner had the southwest burger minus the bacon and he enjoyed it as well. Arenas varies from decent to great, depending on the location. This spot is more like a bar, while others are more like a sandwich shop. They like everyone else have a hard time getting and keeping help. Our waitress had the whole place yesterday and she was amazing, ! Arenas is a solid sandwich or salad spot, they won't set the world on fire, but are completely dependable, and that works for us. read more

Yummy yummy! I love a good local spot with good food and beers. We stopped by here on the way back from the beach for a bite to eat and some drinks. It wasn't crowded on a Sunday evening, we got seated right away. It definitely has a homey feel to it, which I love. Our server was nice, got us drinks right away. Only thing good here was drinks and service. Food was decidedly not good. I had a not so bad crab soup.. but the nachos seemed like microwaved cheese on chip, sides of boring salsa, guac that was not homemade and sour creme. Really unappealing. My crab cake salad was really bad. A lot of lettuce and croutons with barely any dressing or flavor. Crab cake was fried with too much old bay. Just not good. Sitting like a hockey puck on the lettuce. We got some tots which were tots. Margarita was yummy. Service was quick and nice but wow I've never had a less inspiring meal in many years. read more

We stopped in and the first thing we noticed is theres zero parking here so expect that if you come at peak times especially since its right next to Big Fish Grill. The mac and cheese fried bites were awesome and Id definitely recommend those. As far as the reuben went it was toasted quite well and was ok but I would have liked a bit more pastrami in it. I went in yesterday with a friend, our server Sydney? Cindy? was extremely off putting and rolled her eyes when my friend corrected her for the drink order. When we asked her about something I had last summer and couldn't remember what it was she just shrugged and said "I don't know" instead of any attempts to help. Then she disappeared repeatedly and we were unable to find her while our drinks needed refills and we wanted the check. Our server was loudly cussing through the restaurant, talking loudly about "bugs" in the restaurant, and just super unprofessional overall. Any other time I would've asked for a manager however, heard this manager is not the best. Would recommend their other locations but NOT this one. read more

So disappointed!!! I've been going to Arena's for years and years for my CA Club Dude sandwich. Twice this year I paid $14.99 for a sandwich that was mostly inedible. They've replaced the sprouts with what I believe is arugula, which gives the sandwich a very strange taste. Plus, the arugula was MOST of the sandwich! Needless to say, I took all of it off the sandwich only to find an avocado that was a little piece that wasn't ripe. A small piece of tasteless tomato and a THIN layer of turkey. I'm afraid for the very expensive price and poor quality Arena's has lost a long time customer. read more

This was my first time at this arenas and I loved it!! The menu was a little bigger than the old one on main abs they even had a veggies section. The food was great and the portions were perfect. I got the Granny Smith sandwich. We also had multiple drinks that were pretty good. I ended up getting a cucumber mule on accident. I didn't think I'd like it since I kinda really dislike ginger beer but it was surprisingly good!! My favorite part of our meal was our server. He was kinda and had a welcoming/ happy personality. Always loved their chicken salad, but ye past few times I it's been very dry. The new location on Route 1 isn't very lively and they never seem to have the steamed shrimp like they used to have on at the route 24 location. I might give it 1 more try at their Lewes location, but I'm not as pumped about their food as I used to be. Would also be great if they could add some gluten free bread to their menu. read more

Some of the worst service I've ever encountered. Waited 40 minutes for two sandwiches before just leaving without eating any food. The waitress never checked in to say the kitchen was slow. Was my first time and the menu also looked to be extremely underwhelming and subpar. read more

We stopped in for lunch. They have a large beer selection. We had a bloody Mary and a mimosa, they were OK for $4 but I'd probably skip them if I went back. I came to Arenas as soon as I got to Rehoboth for the start of my vacation since they always have great sandwiches! I ordered the "Turkey Hampshire" which was delicious! Just forewarning you- a sandwich from Arenas can definitely be shared between two people- they're fricking HUGE. Not to mention it comes with basically a family-size amount of potato chips and a pickle (which I was pretty happy with- as I'll only eat "new" pickles- cold and crispy). Service was good and our waitress was very polite, however the place was a little unclean feeling... Prices are good for the amount of food that you get- my sandwich was around $8 and most others were the same. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good an easy lunch. There's also an Arenas closer to the boardwalk along the Rehoboth Ave. drag which I actually prefer. read more

We had a great experience at this lovely Cafe. We shared the Krazy kayak sandwich(I think that was the name) and it was perfect for the two of us. I had a side order of cheese fries which was great and there was chips on the side of both of our half sandwiches. The atmosphere was great and there are tons of specials! Paid the bill w/ tip for a drink for my husband and myself & bartender started yelling we did not tip him for the entire bill. I tipped for drink not the food I took out. Decided to try something different at the beach. Knew we were going for some bar food so expectations were not high. Ordered the crab dip and the chicken sandwich. The crab dip was very runny, cold, hardly any crab or cheese, more like a soup, not very good at all. The even more down side was the chips they used for the crab dip were straight from the store, horrible. The grilled chicken used for the sandwich was so small that the whole sandwich consisted of about 4 bites, almost all the sandwich was all bread. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Arenas Cafe. My wife and I both had sandwiches; she had the Hampshire and I had the Hungry Surfer. The sandwiches had plenty of meat and were delicious. Writing this review as a reminder to myself: don't eat at this place again!!! When visiting the beach last summer, I ate here with my mom. Being veggie, I was happy to see they have a "vegetarian" section on their menu. I ordered the Timwich, which is basically a cold cheese sandwich. I hated it. Fast forward to a year later, I was back again with my family and had totally forgotten my first eating experience at this joint. I, again, ordered the Timwich. I thought, "how can you mess up cheese on bread?" How wrong I was. The sandwich would probably be just average if it weren't for the hideous honey mustard dressing they smear all over the bread. I like honey mustard dressing, but whatever they are using is completely heinous. It burned my throat. It tasted like it came from the same bottle of dressing they had used a year prior and they had just let it sit on the shelf fermenting. Beyond that, the sandwiches are just overpriced. You are MUCH better off heading over to the deli at any Wawa. read more

The quality and service have really gone down here. I am a frequent patron and for a while I guess just ignored it. Bagels are frequently stale (and a limited selection) and rolls have been stale on more than one occasion. Most of the soups still seem to be pretty good though. I also just noticed the size of a side of tater tots is much smaller than before...at, I believe, the same price. I'd have to agree with a previous Yelper, it'd be nice to have a few fries with your sandwich...or even to be able to order a smaller portion for less money...I think a side of fries is $4 and I can't finish them. A sandwich portion of fries for a couple of bucks would be nice. Probably your best bet is a breakfast sandwich (not on a stale bagel) which are still a pretty good value..avoid the regular sandwiches which seemed to have deteriorated in quality and value. And then there's the service....it's usually OK at the bar, but can still be sketchy depending on who is working. And then there is the one waitress who's been there the longest....she is just freakin' miserable. It's a shame because I think they used to be pretty consistent here....definitely going downhill though. I think for lunch, I need to find a new spot. read more

The service was fantastic and the waitress we had greeted us immediately at the door ready to seat us to our table. The clean and inviting cafe has our party ready for a beautiful midday brunch. We both got the Popeye omelet with tomatoes, spinach, and feta cheese. The eggs were not too greasy and the feta was very well proportioned throughout the omelet. Also, it was served with a side of toast and some fresh orange slices that was the perfect portion for ready beach goers. I come here whenever I make the trek to lower Delaware. Also, the coffee bar keeps it exciting with gourmet flavored coffee. I went with the German chocolate and was not disappointed. Arena's is a dive deli cafe. Come here expecting anything else and you'll be seriously disappointed. The deli sports bar minus the sports. Our waiter was a newbie or a bartender-turned-waiter who was so extremely nervous he dropped our food and drinks about 4x. He was apologetic and nice so we can fault him. Ordered the crab cake. It was overcooked and my fries were undercooked. I'll stick with a sandwich and chips next time. I find more charm at their Milford location...which seems to fit in that town better than Rehoboth. read more

Really liked this place. We came here after being told there was a 40-minute wait at the restaurant next door, and we were pleased to find a reasonably priced menu, nice service, and plenty of free tables. My mom and I had very good shrimp tacos - I would definitely have those again. Also looks as though they have a nice coffee and smoothie selection for mornings. The only downside was the $6 drink special I ordered - the Dreamsicle - tasted great, but hardly any alcohol in it. I wouldn't order it again, because I could get an identical smoothie off their menu for a dollar less, and at least with that, there is no concern about being shortchanged on alcohol. If I order a drink, I want a drink. We definitely plan on coming back. This restaurant is conveniently located. It was the first restaurant we noticed on our family vacation. I ordered the Morgan mushroom burger. The bun was a bit stale. And the veggie burger was similar if not the same burger you can buy in the freezer aisle in the grocery store. Nonetheless, it filled my belly, as I was very hungry after our drive there. The children were satisfied with their chicken bites but for the quality the sandwiches and meals are overpriced. The table also was sticky when we first sat down...ugh....one of my pet peeves. Best thing about this place, wonderful waiter and quick service. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Also, awesome deals each night of the week, especially on beer. I'm not quite sure why this place seems to be so popular. It's a cute little neighborhood place with a good-sized menu, but: My Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak lacked bite and for almost 10 bucks I would expect some fries, not a little bag of chips. My wife's fish and chips was enormous, but it was all french fries. The four little fillets were small and just slightly over-fried. The Philly Cheesesteak was ok, but nothing to write Yelp about, and again, almost 10 bucks and no fries. Would a potato-sized serving of french fries really set you back that much?!? We had to change tables after we ordered because the obnoxious group of young "ladies" next to us had already had a few too many beers with their Sunday LUNCH and we couldn't hear the conversation at our own table. I imagine that if I were there with my buddies and sampling from their prodigious selection of fine beer that it would be a great place to hang out. But if you're looking for a good meal that won't break the bank, you might want to keep looking. read more

Usually good food. Service really seems hit or miss. Although we usually hit Arenas on the Avenue, we stopped on the Highway today. Mistake. Our server "Uncle Jen" started with a less than sunny disposition and only went downhill from there. She seemed especially annoyed when we let her know we never got our tater tots and was downright miserable when we reminded her that she had taken our credit card and our bill but never brought them back. Can't even credit a bad day, she was quite pleasant to the men at the next table who she seemed to already know. If there's a next time with her we'll be sure to switch sections. read more
