They had a number which I called and the person on the other end gave a number which I could text more details about what I needed, for how many, my name, etc. Since they were driving and couldn't take my order at the moment I made sure to provide as much info and the time/day. I put the order 5 days before I said it needed it and they agreed it can be done by then. I thought it was easy and I just followed it up with the change of topping on the cake. I explicitly stated to text me if they needed anything else from me since I have never done this before. I probably should've followed them up, but I was busy that week. Since I didn't hear anything afterwards I thought I had secured my order. The day I come to pick up the cake, they tell me they don't have the order. The lady who I spoke to, who I'm assuming was on the phone when I initially called, is telling me I put a request not an order and that I didn't even provide my full name (not true, I did). I'm being told that I shouldve put down a deposit and have a contract with them for the cake. I wasn't provided with any contract or a Zelle username. If I had that information I would've absolutely done it. As a business you should provide the customer with that sort of information. I had no idea and I wasn't told that thru text. Should I have followed up? Absolutely, i know that now. There's no information on the website about a contract or deposit information. Only the phone number that I first called. So they should probably update that if they have so many orders and can't keep track with request. There was a lot of deflection from the lady when i tried to explain my grievance. No apology either for the confusion. I felt crazy because I thought I might've missed their messages. Nope nothing. Only the Zelle information after I had arrive there. Luckily, they had puff pastry ready and told me they could have the cake ready in 15 min, and I really needed the cake so I agree to still do business. When I got the cake it was still warm and they told me to freeze it in my refrigerator for it to set. 15 min to get to my place and the ganache has melted off the top and custard had already spilled out from the sides. I had a long drive afterwards and not even an insulated bag could save it. It did taste good, it's too bad about communication, and everything else.

The prices also are much more expensive, so it's disappointing to pay more for less essentially. It is cute inside, and the designs were still great but sadly, this bakery is not the same and not as delicious. We also asked if they could put buttercream on a sugar cut out cookie, as the old French's used to do that- their buttercream was delicious, and the lady working the register said "I' m sorry, we no longer do that." While I understand this bakery is (unfortunately) not the one that used to be there at this location, I don't understand why buttercream cannot be applied to a cookie.. we are at a bakery aren't we? Aren't bakeries supposed to have buttercream? Quite confusing that that customer service was not there either. A side of frosting to purchase could have been offered or just a small dollop could have been applied but apparently this bakery cannot accommodate a frosting request.

I ordered this durian cake for our anniversary, and wow... it's easily the best cake I've ever had…read more If you love real durian, you'll love this cake. The cream is super smooth and filled with actual durian pulp--no artificial flavor at all. The sponge is so light and fluffy that it almost melts in your mouth, and it pairs perfectly with the rich, fruity durian cream. I already love fresh durian and durian ice cream, but this was my first time trying a durian cake, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The 6-inch cake was $68, so it's definitely a treat, but I'd happily buy it again. Just make sure to order a few days ahead. The service was amazing too. Since it was our anniversary, they added a cute "Happy Anniversary" sign to the cake at no extra charge. When we picked it up, they even reminded us to head straight home because the summer heat could affect the cake. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their cakes and want customers to enjoy them at their best. Definitely coming back to try more flavors!

Best cake tasting experience!…read more We booked a $33 tasting experience a few months ago in preparation for our wedding. Website was very straightforward to book. You have 3 flavors and they give an extensive list of their flavors. We do love that the flavors are unique and very different from other bakeries around Orange County. We opted for the Red Velvet Cake Complimented with Cream Cheese Filling, Espresso Vanilla Cake Complimented with Tiramisu Filling, and Dark Rich Chocolate Fudge Cake Complimented with Chocolate Espresso Filling for our tasting. Upon arriving to our appointment, we found parking in front of the bakery. Its located right behind The Camp. The bakery showroom is very cute and cozy. We love the pink decor and the different cakes they have around the bakery to showcase the various types of wedding cake designs. We were greeted by Rodrick, who had graciously prepared our tastings in the form of mini cakes which we can take home to share the experience with our family. Rodrick was very informative on how the cakes are made and helped us understand how buttercream cakes are different than other types of cakes. The texture is light and not overly heavy like other cakes. The frosting is just the right amount of sweetness and not overly done. We also love how pet friendly the bakery is. We brought our little guy in a stroller and was greeted with so much love. We had the best cake tasting experience here and recommend it to any couples in the area who are looking for a wedding cake vendor.

They were busy with a lot of Mother's Day weekend rush, but the staff was friendly to everyone with big smiles and they were moving the line along as quickly as possible. Sometimes, the Tropical Coconut can be slightly dry, but it was perfectly moist when I had it this past weekend. They had a really cute May 4th Grogu cake on display and I just think that they not only make delicious cakes, but their cake decorating skills are on point! SusieCakes is worth the splurge!

He was so excited seeing the cake designs on Spiderman and Minions. We enjoyed our desserts inside. They only had 1 high top table with 2 high top chairs. I would say service was ok. I just didn't feel greeted with the most excitement by staff. Staff didn't care to know if we enjoyed our dessert, offer stickers to my kid at all. For a single parent with their young toddler, I think its important to make sure all customers enjoyed the dessert and the children have a good experience so that they always remember this place to request us coming back again. Thats just my advice when it comes to customer service for adults and kids. Though, I will try my best to be back for the raspberry vanilla cupcake, bc that did taste really good when I ate it elsewhere. Please keep this seasonal dessert permanently on the menu.

Last time I came into this amazing place I made the mistake of not trying their pup cupcakes!…read more It was my dogs birthday so I made the drive from Long Beach to HB. Because 1- My dog is worth it. And 2- they have the best human cupcakes I've ever had lol When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the owner who is so incredibly sweet. She remembered me and greeted me like she's known me for years. They had a 4 pack of pup cakes already packed up. So I grabbed those and told her it was my dogs birthday. Don't forget to ask her if she has a free candle or birthday topper available! She usually has a bunch behind the counter she hands out. She gave me a candle (I got to pick out the color) and I got a little tiny happy birthday topper to put in the pup cake PS- the pup cupcakes smell absolutely delicious! The peanut butter frosting smells out of this world. I almost took a bite. As always, this place is extremely clean Staff is great! Parking is great! Flavors to pick from are great They have a huge variety. I'm so bummed I got there too late and missed out on their coconut cupcake and they had a pistachio one!! (Her flavors are always the best and always changing) So I had to go with my old trusty. I got a wedding cake one and a birthday confetti one. Again, these cupcakes are HUGE. They have the perfect amount of frosting vs cake ratio, they are not dry at all!!! Hands down the best in Orange County I got sucked in. She can make any of her cupcake flavors into a donut. So I tried the strawberry donut (inspired by her strawberry cupcake) the donuts are all in the back and not on display like the cupcakes are It's the best of both worlds The donut was light and fresh. It tasted like a Krispy Kreme but with the delicious frosting of a cupcake. This is on the sweeter side, for me? Sweeter the better. But might be too sweet for others. I can't wait to come back here for all my cupcake and cake needs in the future!!! Give them a try, you and your dog will be extremely satisfied (I have never seen any bakery that is this dog friendly!!)

I went in for a custom cake order, and the owner was able to accommodate within a 72 hour window. I'll say that my daughter does not actually eat cake. She eats frosting, but when I tell you, she ate her entire slice including the cake and the buttercream frosting! The cake was so moist and so beautiful! The prices are fair for the quality that you receive. However, I will say that when I inquired on a separate order if she's able to accommodate for gluten allergies, she said unfortunately no. Although her website does advertise that she can. Besides that, this is a solid option for custom cakes, especially if you like them small and stacked.

We mainly intended on having pies because my husband doesn't really even like cake but this cake was different. Honestly probably the best cake we've ever had and it we couldn't even bring ourselves to freeze it. We fought over who got to eat what was left of it. I would highly recommend Maegan if you need desserts! This was the one food item at our wedding that our guests still talk about because it was so delicious. So tasty! And egg free so my husband could eat it too. Everyone loved it to pieces and wouldn't stop commenting on how gorgeous it was. That signature swirl frosting is divine. We donated the leftovers to the kitchen staff at the restaurant and it was funny to see them all in the back room chowing down with delight as we left! We also had cupcakes done for the baby shower, and they too were fantastic. Somehow Maegan was able to magically come up with the right flavors to suit my pregnancy cravings without even knowing.
