    Crying Tiger

After bookmarking Ari's Thai Eatery, I wanted to give it a try since I was craving Thai food. I ordered via phone and was advised it would take about 20 minutes for the order to be ready. I got there around 5 pm and it wasn't too busy at the time. The parking lot is shared with other businesses and was moderately full at the time. For the pickup, food was ready by the time I got there. There was a small hiccup with the payment system but only took a few minutes to resolve. Utensils and sauces were available at the front counter. American Express is accepted as an option. Pad Thai - This was pretty good and leaned towards the sweet side. They included a lime, which helped balanced the flavors. I got the dish with fried tofu in hopes of complementing the next dish. Crying Tiger - This order came with a papaya salad, which I acknowledged over the phone. Unfortunately this was a huge miss. I asked to prepare it as medium rare but some pieces were completely raw. I needed to microwave this at home to ensure it was cooked through further. The flavor itself was also just okay. The worst part was that the entire dish was not cut at all; I needed to do that myself. This was a huge letdown especially considering the price of the order. Papaya Salad - This was a very small ratio and not well seasoned. I asked for mild but I guess that meant not being seasoned. OverallI could only recommend the Pad Thai at this time.

Found this place which opened only last April 2026. The open concept of the dining area is very inviting. Only a small place but they have several tables. They even have a bar seating area. They have authentic Thai food menu. The servers are also very welcoming. They have TV on one wall which is also good for those who would like to watch sports while eating. At this moment we just ordered but have not tasted the food. I will update my review after eating lunch. Just for the place and service quality, I will give them 4.7. Above average to a the typical Thai restaurant here in San Gabriel Valley area. UPDATE: We just finished our lunch and I would say, the green curry is full of flavor and with just the right amount of spiciness. The Garlic pepper with crispy pork is also flavorful. Our server, Howard, was very nice. I would give this experience with 4.8, added point for the food quality.

Love the feel of this place. It's kinda upscale homey. I wish the service was the same. I didn't get that personal experience or helpful vibe. A lot of workers but no personalization for our group. We had four people. No suggestions were made even though it was our first time here. Food was very good, although very pricey: Pad See Ew ($18) Panang Curry ($18) Crispy Soft Shelled Crab - 2 ($31) House Fried Rice ($18) Mango Sticky Rice ($15) Tasty and satisfying but a bit overpriced for me since the food was good and not that fancy. I'm not sure what I'm paying for because the service should be better at these prices. Ample parking.

I got a chance to return to Ari's Thai Eatery for dine-in to enjoy a lovely lunch in celebration of my dear friend's birthday. Happy Birthday, my friend! The day before, I called the restaurant to make reservations. I spoke with a nice lady who booked us a table at 11:30 AM for a party of 6 people. We were the first customers to be here shortly after they opened on a Saturday late morning. What a nice surprise! They had a Happy Birthday sign on the wall. Perfect for the occasion! Thank you. Plenty of inside dining space. Ambiance was lovely, warm, and cozy. Decor was simple with a touch of elegance. Love the soft yellow lighting... quite romantic actually! Wonderful place to bring family and friends or a date. Solo dining is good, too. We ordered a variety of dishes from salad to jerky to curry to noodles to rice. You name it, we covered it. I also got one Thai Iced Tea which was very delightful and not overly sweet. Appetizer: * Papaya Salad with shrimp - very fresh and crisp papaya mixed with huge shrimps in perfectly marinated lime juice, YUM says it all! * Chicken Jerky - tender and moist chicken, love the off orange color * Pork Jerky - amazing flavor with the right amount of fry on the outside, delish, my daughters would love this dish Main Dish: * Curry with duck - delicacy wins a WOW! Surprisingly good. * Pad Sewe with chicken - tasty chicken immersed in the BEST soft tender flat wide rice noodles that I've ever had, another winner for my daughters! * Pad Woon Sen with seafood - this was my top dish of the day, it showcased great wok flavor and tons of seafood which I love, must get every time! * Pineapple Fried Rice - this was good, but nothing that says WOW though All appetizers and main dishes were amazingly tasty and flavorful. Portions were big. I have nothing, but good things to say about all of the dishes. I would order everything again. Our server was pleasant and offered very good service. She was attentive and took good care of us throughout our meal. Thank you Miss! Highly recommend Ari's Thai Eatery! I'll be back with my Mom, my brothers + their families, and my daughters for more delicious Thai foods and amazing service in a lovely ambiance. What elevated our dining experience was one, our server asked if we wanted our cake to be placed in the frig while we're eating and two, they brought out a cake table along with the cake. So very thoughtful for the occasion. I love it! Thank you Ari's for the extra special attention and care in making your restaurant a great place to gather, dine, and celebrate!

My middle son wanted Thai food for his birthday dinner so we were going to go to Basil & Co in Diamond Bar. But then I remembered that they opened a sister restaurant called Ari's that I've been wanting to visit. We decided to come here since the menu is the same and I knew that the wait would be substantially shorter than the DB location (always a wait there). Distance from my house is only a little bit further than Basil & Co, so no problem there. The vibe and decor is the same as the DB location and I think seats the same number of customers. We were seated immediately upon arrival, but then I saw a table in the back that had "Happy Birthday" balloons taped on the wall so I asked if we could sit there instead and they let us. We ordered our usual favorites and tried some new things: Ari's Chicken Wings Larb salad with chicken Tom Kha Soup with noodles Curry Noodles Spicy fried rice Pad thai Drunken noodles Yellow pumpkin curry with rice Mango sticky rice Everything was great just like at Basil & Co! My whole family rated it 5/5 for every dish we ate. You honestly cannot go wrong with anything you order here. I was so impressed when the mango sticky rice came out, it was so beautifully arranged with the mango sliced and arranged around the sticky rice that was in the shape of a heart. SOO CUTE! They even put a candle on it, and brought out complimentary ice cream for the birthday boy! I love it here, I will be back the next time I am craving Thai!

Their food is always amazing, but I wanted to update my review based on experience. Came here for dinner with my girlfriends and after our entree, the waiter handed us a dessert menu but never came back. It wasn't until I heard the waiter talking to another table that it was their last call for the kitchen that I had to flag him down to let him know that we wanted to order desserts. After we placed our desserts, then the waiter slowly bussed our table. Anyway, we got mango sticky rice with ice cream ($18.99) and banana rolls with ice cream ($12.99). When the bill came, we didn't know adding ice cream was going to be +$4.00 per scoop. Like what? We didn't see anything about adding $4.00 for ice cream, but the mango sticky rice makes sense now that I had to go back to look at the menu again. But they charged us for the banana rolls w/ ice cream too! Highly suggest to update your menu to add ice cream +$4.00 like you do for your entrees because we were all caught off guard.

We always leave this place with a smile! Good food, good service, good vibe! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu-- our go-to is the Chicken Pad Thai and the Panang Curry

The appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages, and the staff all received a five-star rating. I had planned to photograph the attendees once everyone was seated. However, there was a consistent queue for the delightful buffet. The appetizers included Calamari and Crispy Pork Belly. For salads, there was Cucumber Salad and Mango Trout. Panang Beef Curry was also available. Regrettably, by the time I finally joined the line, only a single piece of beef remained. The noodle selections were Pad Thai Shrimp and Pad Woon Sen with Vegetables. The main courses featured Cashew Nut Chicken and Eggplant Basil Fried Tofu. Beverage choices encompassed Almond Thai Tea, Thai Tea, Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Lemonade, Lemon Iced Tea, Iced Tea, Soda, and a variety of Hot Teas. Dessert options were Banana Roll with Ice Cream, Mango Sago, and Mango with Sticky Rice. My husband and I intend to return. We plan to order the Crispy Pork Belly, Pad Thai Shrimp, and Panang Beef Curry. I thoroughly enjoyed all the desserts and find it difficult to choose a favorite. I must say, their Mango Sago was the finest I have ever tasted. I believe it contained mango, sago, jackfruit, coconut jelly, and palm fruit. Many individuals shared with me that it was their initial visit to this restaurant and expressed their intention to return, as well as to recommend Ari's Thai Eatery to others. I highly recommend reserving the restaurant for a private event. We thoroughly enjoyed having exclusive access to the delicious cuisine.

The food was amazing! The pineapple fried rice had a great sweet and savory combination and the curry was spot on! I personally order the crispy pork and broccoli and the pork had a great flavor and tenderness and the broccoli is the best I've had! The service was amazing too, we had the pleasure of having Howard give us great recommendations, and all the other servers were great too!

I've been wanting to try this Thai restaurant since they've opened and finally found the opportunity. I didn't have a wait coming in on Saturday during lunch. The interior decor is elegant and clean. The staff were attentive and came by frequently to check on us. The Thai iced tea is really good! Strong tea flavor, but super smooth. Would definitely recommend. The fried calamari was perfectly fried. It was not overcooked and hard. It was soft and chewy. The breading was just right. Their aioli sauce paired with it nicely. It's very unique and has strong fish sauce flavor. The spicy catfish definitely has a kick. It is very flavorful and comes off a little salty. Definitely need to pair with some rice. The drunken noodles were very good too. The noodles are cooked just right. Excited to come and try more items on the menu in the future!

I've been meaning to come back here ever since I tried a few dishes during a soft opening -- and I can't believe it took me so long to return and try their delicious offerings. We ordered the Thai Shumai, Drunken Noodles, and Yellow Pumpkin Curry. The Shumai was definitely a sleeper hit. The dumplings had amazing texture throughout and I loved the crunchy garnish and fresh cucumber. The Drunken Noodles were your typical drunken noodles-- delicious with fresh ingredients. We enjoyed the Yellow Pumpkin Curry, which with the squash stood out form the traditional yellow curries. The food arrived quickly and the staff was friendly. The entire restaurant is very modern and we loved the light wood decor. This place will definitely stay on my Thai food rotation.

Heard this place was very good so decided to give them a try. Ambiance: Very nice-looking restaurant. This is one of the few Thai restaurants that looks inviting. Very clean and warm atmosphere. Service: Staffs welcome us with a smile. Got seated quickly. This place can be very busy and waiting can be long. Luckily, we arrived early before the crowd. Food: Crying Tiger with Papaya Salad - the steak was very soft and juicy. So delicious. The Papaya Salad that came with it was crisp and delightful. I don't always order the Papaya Salad, but this dish forced you to have that as part of the meal. Wish they have the Crying Tiger without the Papaya Salad. And if I want Papaya Salad, I can order that as a separate item. This way you are not forced to pay extra for the Papaya Salad. This item was listed as Market Price, and it was over $60 for just this dish. Yikes! Spicy Catfish - this dish came with Eggplants. Didn't expect the catfish to be deep fried. It was good but wish the catfish was not deep fried. Kra Pow with Fried Egg over Rice - I loved this dish. The flavor was perfect, not too overbearing. It blends perfectly with the rice and fried egg. I enjoyed this dish.

We came here for Father's Day and had a really nice time. The place is clean, warm, and peaceful. Food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was kind. Grateful we chose Aris Thai Eatery for a special day.

Went close to 6:00 pm and there were plenty of parking spots available in a shared plaza. It wasn't busy at the time so I was able to get my order quickly. Everything was ready and packed when I got there! I appreciate that they put the peanuts in a separate container. For the order, I got the Pad Thai and the combo platter. The pad thai was on the sweeter side. I got my order with pork as the protein choice. I felt if a lime was provided, it would help balance out the flavors of the noodles. The peanut was kept in a separate container, which I appreciated. The platter consists of a variety of items from dumplings, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, wonton, and shrimp tempura. The container had holes to allow for the steam to escape, so most of the items were still crispy. Nothing from the platter particularly stands out in taste, besides possibly cream cheese wonton. Overall, it felt like an okay option if you're in the area.

The bowl for the ice cream was really cute but I think a different bowl might be better because it was a little hard to eat without flinging it around. I was only in town to take a test nearby, but if I'm ever back in the area, I would 100% return and try the other dishes.

We went here for lunch today in search of the next great Thai spot and tantawan did not disappoint…read more Positives: -the food was great and they definitely brought the real spice. We got southern curry noodles, flaming drunken noodle at extra spicy, and Che Po. The curry noodles were good we got the flat noodles. Though my wife likes it more savory I like it more coconutty. The che po was okay, the rice was steeped in the sauce which was too much for my wife and some of the pork belly pieces were tough. The bbq pork and the duck was good though. Authentic Thai and Chinese fusion taste. The star of the show was the flaming drunken noodle. It's probably one of the best drunken noodles we've had. At extra spicy, it definitely brought the flame and the foavor in a big way. The portions and prices were great. We had to togo the drunken noodle and it got even better after we reheated it. -service was very friendly and quick -the restaurant is a good size, great for large parties. Negatives: None 5/5 overall We will definitely be back, we already have our eye on trying the pad Thai and the tom yum noodles. My wife wants to bring the spice down, but i want the smoke I want that extra spicy level again lol

Has this place gone through new ownership?…read more I used to frequent Tantawan Thai Cuisine at least once a week -- it was my go to Thai spots because it's nearby. I would always order the Thai boat noodles, Pad Kee Mao, or Pad Thai, and they were consistently flavorful, bold, and satisfying every time. These three dishes were on constant rotation. Lately though, something feels very different. The flavor and overall taste of the dishes have noticeably changed. The Thai boat noodles no longer have that rich, deep broth, the pad kee mao isn't as smoky and punchy, and the pad thai tastes flatter and not as saucey than it used to. The food just doesn't hit the same. On top of that, the employees were clearly new. Service has been noticeably slower, and they repeatedly ask the same questions multiple times when I phone in my order. I've always mentioned that I don't want liver in my Thai boat noodles and that I like my pad thai spicy -- and before, that was never an issue or a back and forth conversation. Now, I'm asked the same clarifying questions over and over, and I'm even told that they "don't make pad thai spicy," which was never the case before. It's honestly disappointing because this used to be such a reliable weekly staple for me. I'm not sure if there's been a change in ownership, staff, or recipes, but the consistency in both food and service just isn't there anymore. I really hope they can bring back the quality and experience that made me a regular in the first place.
