It reminded me of a home cooked meal; felt nourishing. The trout was fried and had a mango salad on top. The mango salad paired well with the trout and it tasted fresh. The trout came with a green sauce to dip it in. The green sauce definitely added more flavor to the trout. Service was excellent. The servers there were all kind and attentive. I had a fantastic experience at this Thai restaurant! The space is spacious and modern, and as soon as you walk in, the environment feels fresh and clean with no overpowering spice smells like in some other Thai places. The décor is modern and the whole restaurant is organized and welcoming. The staff were incredible! we had about four different servers, and each one was so attentive and happy to help, which made the whole dining experience feel effortless. We ordered chicken satay and beef basil with rice, with another entree and even though it came out to around $75, it was worth it. The food was delicious; my chicken satay was perfectly grilled, and the beef basil had a nice medium spice that I loved. Service was good, restaurant had a very clean interior, and food came out very quickly. The food is a little expensive considering that portions are on the smaller end. Curry Noodle (aka Khao Soi): 1000/5. Easily one of the best Khao Soi I've ever had. The broth was so addicting - we literally could not stop slurping it up even when we already finished the dish! It had the perfect depth with sweet and salty notes and had a little spicy kick to it. Also love the choice of dishware so that the crispy egg noodles would not sink to bottom and get soggy. Wow! What an amazing new restaurant in the Azusa area! I am so glad we tried this place out after watching the expose that Channel 7 News did on this place. We tried the yellow curry (without pumpkin since my daughter is allergic), the chicken wings, calamari, pad see ew, and the crying tiger with papaya salad. All of the dishes were so flavorful without being overpowering. Even for my daughter who doesn't usually like Thai food, she mentioned that all the sauces pair perfectly with the food items. The steak on the Crying Tiger plate is a must try. It was grilled and seasoned to perfection! Service is quick, efficient and all servers were super friendly. I randomly came across Ari's Thai Eatery while trying to figure out where to eat, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. The space has this modern, chic, almost minimalist vibe to it, but at the same time it still kind of feels like a fast casual restaurant. It's a little hard to describe, but it's clean, contemporary, and lively. When we walked in I noticed a waitlist sign and thought we were going to be waiting for a while, but we actually got seated right away. I didn't get one of the booths and ended up in one of the regular chairs which was a little uncomfortable after a while, but honestly the thing that stood out the most here was the service. The staff is clearly well trained and extremely attentive. My water was refilled at least five times without me even asking, and they were constantly checking in at just the right moments without hovering. That level of attentiveness really stood out. Food wise, I was impressed. Their photo menu was actually really helpful and kind of fun to look through. At one point I saw something on the menu that was around $62 and immediately thought "oh hell no, I'm not that hungry," especially since I wasn't starving to begin with. I ended up ordering the beef salad and wow... you would think a salad would just be fine or basic, but it was honestly delicious. Like genuinely craveable, bright flavors, and I finished the entire thing. My friend ordered a beef and rice dish that was also really good, and we shared a chicken appetizer that disappeared pretty quickly. Everything tasted fresh and well executed. I also appreciated the modern touch when it came time to pay since they make it really easy with Apple Pay and other tap options. The reason I'm landing at four stars instead of five mostly comes down to price. Our total came out to about $66 for two main dishes and an appetizer, and for Thai food that feels a bit on the high side to me. I've had equally delicious Thai meals elsewhere where the bill would probably land under $50. One other thing to note is that the tables are a little close together, so you're definitely near the next party. Some people might enjoy that social energy, but if you like a little more space it's something to keep in mind. Had another great experience coming back here about 5 months since this spot first opened!!! I'm super happy to note that there's been upgrades since we first came. Special chef menu items, a larger menu, a great ordering and payment system that waitstaff use, more staff, and also great with handling nut allergies too. Although they were extremely busy, they were upbeat and full of energy!!! Noted by drinking coffee and her eyes seem to appear sleepy. Unfortunately, my order for the crab papaya salad came out wrong the first time. It was a little frustrating because I was super hungry and had specifically pointed to the photo on the menu when I ordered to avoid confusion. I had to wait about 10 minutes for them to prep the correct dish-soft shell crab papaya salad. ​To their credit, they handled the mistake well and comped the mango sticky rice dessert, which was a really nice gesture and appreciated. ​Overall, the food is decent. I ordered the Drunken Noodles ($16.99 - w/ Pork - "medium" spice level). I also ordered the Crab Fried Rice ($27.99). Unfortunately, its food is hit-or-miss. Currently, I do not recommend Crab Fried Rice ($27.99) which tasted very bland and muted; it lacked any crab flavor. Rather, this expensive option tasted like coarse, budget fried rice. Thankfully, the Drunken Noodles w/ Pork saved this dining experience; its noodles were silky, gentle, & bouncy while its pork was tender, juicy, & flavorful. I arrived at Ari's Thai Eatery (Azusa) on Wednesday (around 12:15pm). I was seated quickly. My primary waitress (receipt said Mavipa) is quick and courteous. She's unmemorable since she'd regularly vanish. It's also somewhat disconcerting how her demeanor only became extremely friendly when I'd asked for the bill. Thankfully, the second staff member (male named Kent) worked very hard to create a pleasant dining experience. Kent regularly checked-in on me and the other guests with a consistent bright smile. Kent immediately assisted me whenever I raised my hand for assistance. And Kent is always attentive; Kent is very quick to refill my water without any prompting. Kent is a staff member superstar. As mentioned, I ordered the Drunken Noodles ($16.99) and Crab Fried Rice ($27.99). The food was ready within 10 minutes. Very fast! (Quick Note: The Drunken Noodles has three spice levels. Mild, Medium, and Hot. The "Medium" spice level is fairly strong. If sensitive to spice, select "Mild.") I recommend the Drunken Noodles w/ Pork. It's delicious! Unfortunately, as mentioned, the Crab Fried Rice tasted very bland. Even its chunks of crab tasted spongey and bland. Its adorning egg had no taste, and this fried rice was extremely underwhelming for its hefty price. Regarding ambiance, Ari's Thai Eatery (Azusa) is gorgeous. It's extremely clean; everything sparkled. The furniture appeared well-maintained and new. It's also well-ventilated and refreshing. Ari's Thai Eatery (Azusa) is a beautiful destination to bring co-workers, clients, or a lovely companion. It's a perfect date spot. The music also felt upbeat and cheerful as indie pop/rock music chimed from the speakers. Overall, I recommend Ari's Thai Eatery (Azusa). It's pricey, but there's integrity within its quality ingredients and large portions. Some options might be hit-or-miss, but the Drunken Noodles is a solid option to feast upon. I have visited Ari's a few times since it opened. Every visit has been great. The staff is attentive and friendly. The inside is decorated nicely and spacious. Some of the items that I have tried are: pumpkin curry, pad thai, calamari, spicy fried rice, and garlic pepper tofu. The pumpkin curry is very flavorful and has generous amounts of pumpkin. The pad thai was tasty but a bit on the sweeter side. The calamari was phenomenal and perfectly crispy. The spicy fried rice was good and great for sharing. The garlic pepper tofu was very good. Pad Thai: my husband said it was a little too sweet but overall good. He wants to try something different next time. Pad See Ew: it was richer than others I've had so I only had a small portion. It was tasty and the ingredients were all very fresh. The servers were very friendly and answered our questions with kindness as this was our first time going. Bathrooms are nice and clean and far enough away from the dining and kitchen areas. Cons: someone brought in their dog, not a service dog, and it was a puppy. So it was kind of distracting and most likely a health code violation. There was no signage and there needs to be since as we walked our the owner of the dog cussed us out for looking at the dog and her and apparently reading our minds to know we were not about the puppy being in the restaurant. I removed a star because of that. Prices were a little bit higher than other Thai restaurants we've been to recently but overall it was a nice first visit to Ari's. My family was in town and we were able to get a same-night reservation at Ari's during their soft opening! It's located right across from APU and there's pretty ample parking available in the plaza. First things we noticed are how bright and spacious the restaurant is, along with the incredibly kind and attentive staff. We ordered young coconut juice along with some Thai iced tea, and the drinks came out quickly and the coconut was so fresh and yummy. The Thai iced tea wasn't too sweet and didn't have any artificial flavor to it. For food we ordered the chicken wings, fried tofu, crab fried rice, tom kha with tofu, calamari, and larb. The portions were ample especially for a family of six. The chicken wings and larb were crowd winners with us. For dessert, we got mango sticky rice and banana rolls with ice cream. Such a cute Thai place in a nice, big parking lot! I'm so glad to have found Ari's Thai so close to home. I don't feel there's good enough Asian food scene here in Azusa. We've been here twice now and I feel I have seen all kinds of occassion here - from date night, soccer team celebration, family meals, and friends meet up. Literally all kinds of gatherings are suitable here. We loved their pad thai and panang curry. I feel like getting a pad thai at a Thai place is my benchmark to whether if the restaurant is good and authentic, and Ari's Thai passed the test. We tried Ari's during their soft opening and now I know why it got such good ratings. My husband and I ordered so many dishes that the family next to us low key judged (hehe). We ordered the papaya salad with soft shell crab, pad thai with tofu, bbq pork, yellow curry with catfish, thai tea, and white rice. It was so delicious and the service was great. We even witness a good samaritan paying it forward and paying for an elderly woman's meal. I love the decor also. Something I would do to my own home. If you are in the area, a definite must try. The noodles were a bit thick and they stuck together. I tried separating them but it was just a clump and they broke into small chucks. It was still good but not the noodles I was thinking about.
