Peanut Butter and Jalapeno Jelly Burger

service was fast and friendly, checked on us shortly after we got seated. ordered and food came fresh and fast, fries were crispy and delicious. burger was juicy and had the perfect amount of toppings that complimented each other wonderfully, the bacon was crispy and a great addition. the music and atmosphere was great as well. it wad a great family lunch, we enjoyed our time here and will be back. I loved the house made habanero hot sauce as well

I've been to this brewery a few times. The food is always fresh and they have plenty of drinks to choose from. They have both indoor and patio (with misters) seating. They're usually busy at dinner time, even on the weekdays, but we've never had to wait long. I like to get their side salad with a breaded chicken breast cut on top. Their breading for their fried chicken is delicious. Highly recommend!

Our search for the best burgers in Phoenix brought us to Arizona Wilderness Brewing. We visited on a Friday around 6:00 PM; the place was hopping, and the atmosphere was great with basketball playing on several TVs. We were greeted and seated immediately. We started with a beer and the cauliflower appetizer--both were amazing! Just a heads-up: the cauliflower is a little spicy, but totally addictive. Our burgers arrived quickly. The onion rings and duck fat fries were on point with unique seasoning, and the homemade ketchup and pickles were a welcome surprise. We tried the PB&J burger, which was both creative and delicious. Overall, it was a fun "dinner adventure," and we will definitely be back!

    The nachos are so good!

I always enjoy AZ Wilderness. The nachos with their hot sauce is my new fave and perfect with the margarita!

They're known for their beer and burgers. And on those, they delivered! I enjoyed the darker beers, the amber, and their award winning light beer. The service was very kind and quick, even on a Saturday. They have plenty of porch seating as well if you like that. I got the Oklazona Burger (I think is how you spell it) and it was utterly amazing. Juicy, spicy, soft, and perfect. One of my favorite burgers. The tacos didn't fair as well though, with the fish being the only liked flavor and the other three (carne asada, pork, and avocado/veggie) not being big hits. I still highly recommend the burgers though and will definitely be back to enjoy them more often!

    Wicked chicken sandwich

It's been quite a few years since I was last here, but boy was it as delicious as I remembered. The Wicked Chicken sandwich I got was really flavorful with the sauce they add, the bacon was crispy, and the chicken was tender and moist too. The duck fat fries are classic and rich without being heavy. I love how refreshing their dessert blossom tea is and great as an Arnold Palmer. I highly recommend coming here. Our server was friendly and checked in on us often. The brewhouse vibes and outdoor seating is a great casual spot to meet with friends or coworkers.

12/11/2first Visit. Location 5/5 Located in the beautiful downtown Gilbert Entertainment and eatery district. See my collection for Downtown Gilbert! Parking 5/5 Today I cheated and caught a ride in our carpool Van. Arrived noonish and Rooster found parking out front. Atmosphere 5/5 Cool casual open spaces concept, darker country sports bar feel with lots of room for patrons. The entry front patio space was dog friendly and active. Dog owners meet-up! We were seated on the outdoor covered back patio which is perfect for large groups. We had -25 in our group today. Service 5/5 I hope to get our servers name and update, she was a champ working us solo and did an amazing job from drinks through orders and timely food delivery. Prefect personality for this. Again thank/you from all of us! Food 5/5 The menu was fun to explore, I was pleased to we were at a scratch kitchen which incorporates fresh sourced ingredients and grass fed beef. Lots of unique chief inspired nuanced ingredients parings. My Burger was no exception. Excellent craft burger! The duck/fat fries were delicious as well. Expertly seasoned with a healthier fat for cooking. Everyone enjoyed their food. Come see and enjoy many different spaces to try your delicious meal with thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Eat well my friends-SYOY!

Zero Proof cocktail menu (Jan 2026)
    Christine T.

Arizona Wilderness has been my favorite AZ brewery for probably a decade now. Love their flagship beer, Refuge IPA. My seasonal favorites include March for Orange session IPA (brewed in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society) and Dreamsicle double IPA. They're always experimenting and releasing new beers as well. They usually have a few cocktail options. Right now for January 2026, they also have a variety of zero proof cocktails. In addition to delicious drinks, they make really good food. Their PB&J burger is really popular, though I personally have not tried it. I love their chicken fingers and duck fat fries. Always get the duck fat fries. What I come back for the most is the Base Layer Burrito, add egg +$2. Make sure to ask for a side of their house-made hot sauce - it's spicy but so worth the little bit of sweat. They source local ingredients as much as possible. The food and drink quality has been consistent, and the service is great. There is patio seating in the front and the back, and indoor seating in the taproom and main dining room, as well as bar seating with a few TVs. They have a second location on Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix, and recently a third location on McDowell Miracle Mile. The menu is different at MM, and I can't wait to check it out.

    Pilsner. Cold and perfect

Tasty beer and really good burgers! I dined here a couple of days ago with a group of friends and really enjoyed the experience. The staff was very friendly and the food was outstanding. They had a lovely pilsner, which I really liked, and I opted for the chicken sandwich on sourdough, which was really a treat. I'm a big fan of the Arizona wilderness, and equally a fan of the namesake brewery/restaurant!

Excellent food and cocktails with Gen Z service. Not a dis but feels dead on. It was loud near the bar but not so you couldn't talk across the table. The burgers were delish. It's a very thin smash burger so maybe get the double. The single was plenty for me. And I tried the beet salad which I passionately love beets so it was great to find. Tried the fries too which . Over all I think it was an amazing experience

I hate writing negative reviews. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a month since he loves the chicken and waffles and I love the PB&J burger. The two stars are for the service. This only happens when we go with Latinos. The last 3 times we went with Latinos the service has been terrible, so much that my boyfriend pointed it out it's only when we come with Latinos. Even when it's not busy, we have to find our server and request to order, once we didn't get napkins, and silverware even though we asked twice. The food comes out great. It's just like we get ignored. And it's not like we order difficult things or we are rude. We still tip good because I've worked in the industry. But I think maybe the staff needs inclusive training because any other time we have good service.

Came here for lunch a few days ago and it was my first visit. We sat at the awkward end of the bar and Riley was our server. She was very sweet and recommended a few of the popular burgers, as well as what they're known for, their PB&J burger. So, that's what I ordered (always gotta go for a good "known for"). Unfortunately, there was BARLEY a whisper of peanut butter. It was a literally a burger patty, with really good bacon and a smidgen of jalapeño jelly. Very disappointing to say the least. However, I am still rating this a four stars, because our server, Riley, was great, my boyfriend liked his smash burger and the fries were a delight, but....if you have a PB&J burger, it would help if it actually had some PB.

    PB&J Burger

Loved the Desert Roots old fashioned and the PB&J burger! Service was great, food was excellent, and drinks were amazing.

Ask the Community - Arizona Wilderness Brewing

What size/weight burgers we talking about?

Big enough to share with one other person. At least it was for us. Try their bacon blue it's outstanding.

    Do they fill growlers?

Yes, our beer is offered to go in 4pack cans, bottles, growler or a 32oz crowler can! Unfortunately, due to COVID sanitation concerns we are unable to allow outside growlers to be refilled, but have new avaiable for purchase.

What are the happy hour specials?

M-F 3-6pm and Sunday all day Steins

Do they take reservations? I'm going in a group of about 6 people

Been coming here a long time and we've never been able to call ahead.

    Are you guys dog friendly?

    Absolutely! Bring the whole family!

    Is it dog friendly?

    Yes, patio is dog friendly

Is the beer vegan by chance? Are any of their IPAs vegan?

    Is this restaurant kid friendly?

Yes. They have high chairs and it gets loud enough that the occasional kid yell or scream won't really be heard. That being said, there's no specific kid friendly food served there. But we take our 1.5 year old every time and it's been fine.

Does the veggie burger patty happen to be vegan?

It is vegan! No animal products of any kind are used in this patty's ingredients or preparation methods. Keep in mind, the bun we offer is an egg wash brioche. However, this patty is delicious on salads and our black bean delight can be served…

No seats were available inside (good sign) so we went outside in the shaded patio with misters and found an open table. Our server, Oliver, was awesome! Very friendly and attentive and helpful with items on the menu. For drinks we ordered an old fashioned and a pint of church music. Both good choices. Since it's a burger joint, Hubs ordered the Balboa and I ordered the Yeti. Wow! My burger was to die for. The rosemary goat cheese with bacon jam was the perfect combo of tangy and sweet! Hubs was eating his burger without any complaints which is what you want. Both of us went with the hand cut fries. Crispy and very good! We can't wait to return. This place is legit!

We asked if they could turn on the sound for the World Cup and they were more than willing to accommodate. I thought the Balboa burger was very good and I would have enjoyed the gas lamp burger better if the red pepper didn't keep slipping out. They don't charge you if you change fries for tots or even your burger patty for a chicken or turkey patty, which is really nice. Lowlights: I'm a big french fry eater and I didn't really like the fries here I found them too soft. The majority of their tables inside are barstools, which is a bit uncomfortable for me personally.

After moving to Arizona, I struggled to find anything close, until Dog Haus. This one comes seriously close, and honestly, dare I say...it might even edge it out slightly. The bun is incredible. The chili sauce is perfectly seasoned. The cheese is piled on generously, and the light onions on top finish it off just right. Pure perfection. I should've gone with the onion rings since they never disappoint here, but I was trying to be a little healthy and balanced things out with the sweet potato fries, which were genuinely delicious. And the cold beer on tap is the cherry on top. I'll always recommend the Cali Creamin', one of my favorites on their tap list.
