The Pizza Nova crust was so stale it literally hurt my jaw to chew. Actually the worst pizza I have ever had. Staff was unimaginably rude and provided no service whatsoever. We even saw one of them cough into their hands and continue working. I'll never be back. Waste of money. read more

We decided on this restaurant randomly as I parked on the wrong side of the track and the pizza place we wanted to go won't open tile 2pm. It was a nice lunch for us and I found new kind of pizza I like: Cabonara pizza. It was a prefect day sitting out site except the freight trains were loud. Two of us were splitting an Armand's Salad and a Cabonara pizza. Armand's salad was pretty good with Artichokes and Grilled red peppers. Carbonara pizza is Olive oil base with fresh Mozzarella, sliced Tomatoes, Ham (Prosciutto would be better), Basil, and Garlic. No messy tomato sauce. I loved it. Light and refreshing and summery. The thin crust was crisp and toppings were fresh. Their complimentary bread basket had Italian bread and Focaccia Bread. Both were really tasty. Our waitress was very friendly and checked in with us frequently. The only thing was she forgot to bring out the Olive oil till I asked second time. Normally Armand's is comfortable and relaxing. For some reason it was super loud ... well, there were some really loud talkers on the other side of the restaurant. It made my dining experience so uncomfortable that I had to stick a wad of napkin in each ear. This made for an interesting conversation, with me saying, "What?" a bunch of times ... ironically, I do this anyway. But, I digress. The pizza at Armand's is very good, the salad okay, the atmosphere generally good, but acoustically it can be loud. Oh, and I forgot to mention that you could probably make a meal out of the pizza bread they give you before the meal. As of this writing there are ninety-six restaurants in Elmhurst. I ordered take out a couple weeks ago and when I got home I realized they forgot to hand me my salads. When I called they apologized and gave me the option to go back to pick it up or a refund. Sh*t happens, I get it. How you handle sh*tty situations make a huge difference. And I believe they handled it fantastically. I'll definitely will be ordering from here again. read more

Great authentic Chicago pizza with superb flavor! The pizza bread that came out beforehand was excellent and could have actually been a meal in itself. Love everything on the menu, especially the yardstick pizza. Great for football Sundays since it's so easy to reheat and still taste great.

They have a great deal for buy one pizza get one free! Only on Tuesday the pizza was decent as well. I got two 16inch for 24.00.

Ordered online and the order was accepted and received notice that the food would be ready at 7:39. I arrived at 7:40 and they even looked at "tablet" to get the order not how I got a confirmation, but I had to sit and wait 20 minutes for the food to be prepared. That being said the baked artichoke was excellent and combo was dry and skimpy and the hot peppers that were purchased were not included. Oh well! read more

Service was great. Food was disappointing, the penne with marinara sauce was bad. The penne was over cooked and the marinara was bland. The pasta fazoli soup had no flavor and no beans. The 12" sausage pizza tasted like pure garlic on very hard crust. The ribs we ordered were good, that is all. With drinks our check came to $72. This place is definitely not the Armand's restaurant that was in Elmwood Park on Grand Ave. the food there back in the day was excellent. No we did not complain when we were there because the waitress was so very nice and quite honestly never have sent anything back before in a restaurant. Just was a huge disappointment, but I did call and talk to a manager when I got home. I was told there is nothing they can do now since I should have said something when I was in the restaurant. She would have no way of checking our food after we left. Don't worry Armand's in Elmhurst I won't be back lesson learned never again! read more

Went to Armand's on 06/06 to order a pizza to go. My wife and I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine while we waited. We were waited on by Diana B. She was rude and condensing towards us. She poured our wine from the bottom of a bottle. After a few sips of I was treated with a mouth full of sediment. There was so much in the bottom of the glass it was undrinkable. When I brought the glass to her attention, she did not offer to do a thing about it. When the check came, I asked if she took the wine of the check. She replied no. Her responses were, "it is not my fault". "You drank half the glass", "There's a pandemic." I replied I'm not blaming you, but you should do the right thing and remove the charge for the wine. She said she would not take off the charge but then said she would remove half the charge " because of inflation". I told her to forget it and I would never be back. She then said she would remove the full charge because she "didn't want to argue" Once again she said it was not her fault that there was sediment. Her final comment to us was "it's because of people like you that places go out of business" We have been long time customers of Armand's going back to the Elmwood Park days. While we are fans of their pizza there is no reason that we deserved to be treated with such disrespect and what amounted to verbal abuse. We were not rude, did not raise our voices and treated her with respect. There are way to many good places in the Elmhurst area to go for pizza and not get treated like you are a second citizen. read more

Stopped in kind of randomly on a Tuesday. Ordered a pizza and was informed it was buy one get one free day ! I had no idea and was grateful to our waitress for telling us . The pizza itself was pretty darn awesome. I love the cornmeal ( I think) that they put on the bottom of the crust. It really helps crisp the crust and gives it a wonderful texture. Also had the baked clams which were quite good. Service was good , contrary to some of the other reviews. There is a painting in this restaurant that strongly resembles me or any woman in my family. Guess which one it is. I may or may not be offended. I've recently added Armand's to my abundant mental lists of pizza that I must consume at least monthly to maintain a balanced mind. Pizza cravings strike the hardest and I try my best to keep them under control, but every once in a while I'll neglect this need for a week or so and reap the consequences of my poor choice. Pizza has become a maintenance food for my appetite, but I still know what's just satisfying a craving and what truly means something to me--a special pizza, I will never forget. Armand's is for the suburban thin crust lover. Located right off the Elmhurst Metra stop, you'd have to force yourself to miss it. And please, remember to check for trains before prancing over. There really isn't much room for a customer being wheeled in on a stretcher as this restaurant can get very crowded on a Friday or Saturday night. The toppings are plentiful and fresh. Dig into a crispy pie embellished with roasted red peppers, zucchini, onions, and whatever else inspired your pizza outing. I always treat myself to a veggie filled pizza and a side of fries. Dipping fries in the sauce is not frowned upon here. I have tried and succeeded many times without any funny looks. read more

I can't vouch for the interior of Armands Pizza and Pasta, but I can certainly endorse a slice of their pie. Lucky for me, a server from the restaurant was walking around Elmhurst's Art in the Park this weekend, taking orders from those of us working the 'fest. Salvation! Italian sausage is my preferred 'za topping. No pepperoni for this girl! I really liked the thinner crust (still not thin to me, as I'm from St. Louis where our crust is cracker thin), which helped alleviate a little guilt about my not-so-healthy choice. But, I didn't find the pizza too greasy and it did taste super fresh. I took a good look at their menu and they also serve classic Italian apps, salad, pasta, and sandwiches. Their only drawback: they carry Pepsi products which is always a 'boo!' to me, but when desperate, an ice cold can of Diet Pepsi hugged by a Yelp koozie does the trick. read more

Stick to 3 or fewer ingredients...the more you add the more the delicate crust is exposed to water...leading to soggy pizza. The sausage is some of the best around - but if you want to ad a little creativity order one of the pizza novas. This is the pizza of heaven - and I have tried more than my share of pizza joints. So disappointing. We were looking for a restaurant for our wedding rehearsal dinner, Armand's Pizzeria was right down the street from the venue so we checked it out. We had lunch there and the food and service were both excellent. After speaking with the owner about the details, we decided this would be the place and made the reservations. We had 15 people for our rehearsal dinner and though they knew we were coming, they were ill-equipped to handle a party of our size. They assigned one waitress to our tables along with the other tables she was taking care of. The service was terrible, I had to ask for refills on my drink and at one point had to go to the bar since our waitress was nowhere to be found. The appetizers were served in a timely manner, but the dinners took forever to come out, we waited almost an hour after we were done with our appetizers. When our dinners did arrive, a few of the orders were incorrect and most everyone's dinners were cold. We are talking sandwiches and fries - there is no reason for this. The best man's individual pizza was not brought out with everyone else's and did not arrive until everyone was done with their dinners. They served individuals family-sized salads and said that was standard when a salad was ordered. This makes no sense. Five different people ordered different salads and each was served a giant family-sized platter - if this is standard, they need to revisit their menu and practices. When we spoke with the manager on duty, she was defensive and rude. She acted as though they were doing us a favor and made no excuses and provided no remedy for the lateness of the food or the lack of service for our tables. In the end and after our insistence, they did adjust the bill and didn't charge us the full price for the family-sized salads or for the pizza, but it was not enough of a remedy for the cold food or the way we were treated by the manager. I had their pizza to go on one other occasion, and from what I remember it was pretty good. My experience last night was nothing short of OUTSTANDING! My wife and I decided to dine this time. We walked in and were seated immediately and this was at dinner time. The gentleman who sat us, as well as our server went over their specials right away. That to me says a lot. Not just the old "what will you have" We had read a review about their bruschetta and decided to start with that. Just like the previous review it was absolutely delicious! I then decided to get a small pizza for myself and was glad I did. I just assumed it would take a while to get, but it didn't. My wife got the meatball sandwich, she also was very pleased with her meal. Our leftovers were just as this afternoon. I can't believe living 5 mins away we have not been here more. Disappointing. We've given this place two chances and sadly they both were a miss. We thought we'd try again tonight after a lack luster first experience. Our waitress and the staff were fine. We arrived at 4:45pm, soon after 2 larger parties arrived. Our kids meals and salad arrived along with a martini with a fly floater, shortly after ordering. An hour after our kids were done eating, our small pizza finally arrived. By this time, we had to request for our dinner to be taken home - a cold, soggy pizza by time we were able to finally eat it. Would've expected the manager to come by to rectify situation but nothing. Felt for our overwhelmed waitress. We won't be coming back. Bummer! read more

This is an offshoot of the original place on Grand Avenue. I was there for my brother's girlfriend's birthday celebration, which included about 10 adults and 10 kids from 10-16 years of age. They put us in a section near the front windows which gave us two "aisles" of seating and a section somewhat to ourselves, which was nice. My brother was allowed to bring in birthday cake from "the outside" which was another nice perk. We ordered a number of appetizers; chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, bruschetta and antipasto salad. All were well received. The pizza was OK - I personally am not a fan of their pizza; I tend to prefer more cheese and crust that isn't quite so burnt. But as Armand's pizza goes, this was good. What puts this at a 4 star rating instead of 3 was the helpfulness and service provided by the waitress (whose name I didn't catch, otherwise I would have posted it here). She did a good job of serving our entire group, and also had another table or two I believe. They "auto-gratted" our table at 18% (which is common for the size of our group), and my brother commented that doing that the waitress short-changed herself from his intended tip. I do believe he kicked in a few more bucks anyway. If in the downtown Elmhurst area and looking for Italian food or an Armand's type pizza, check them out. For a Saturday night they were (surprisingly) barely busy, so I'm sure they'd be happy to have the business. read more

I am not a fan of Italian-style restaurants since they all seem to fall into a clique of styles: "Hey, we got pizza!" "Hey, we got pasta" "Hey, you want to pay ridiculous amounts of money because we have rustic Italian food in an intimate setting!" I'm not going to say which this falls into but I do recommend going here for a nice, close setting with brick walls and warm lighting. I have enjoyed the pizza, pasta, and fillet Mignon. What the hell? Fillets at an Italian restaurant? Yes. YES! I thought since those were so good I'd try the baked clams. No good. Too much breading, not enough clam; or was that the really chewy part in the middle that tasted like seafood gum? I have tried this place multiple times...because of the reputation, etc... I don't understand the hype. The pizza was OK...the beer is overpriced. The atmosphere and service are fine....but when a 14" two ingredient pizza and two beers costs close to $40, that is bit much. And another note....the 14" s the biggest pizza you can get if you eat in the restaurant. You can't get the larger one on-site...only via carry-out. I've dined here a few times before and I've had different experiences every time, but I felt compelled to write a review this time. Upon walking in there was a minute or two wait to be seated, the woman who sat us was not the waitress but she took our drink order. She was not very pleasant, I asked her what types of lemonades they served and she answered "I don't know, they're Pepsi products", I asked again in a different way if they had regular or pink, she then answered but not without making me look silly for asking in the first place. The waitress then came along and she was nice and courteous. She took our orders and brought out or food and we didn't see much of her again, but understandably there were quite a few people. We ordered a pizza and some mozzarella sticks, and the food was pretty good. I can't really complain about that. But what truly made this dine-in experience pleasant was the bus boy. He's an older male and he was very more than attentive to our needs. Considering the fact that he was only a bus boy, he saw our cups empty and took it upon himself to grab more drinks for us. He also had a brief but nice conversation with us. This place receives a higher star rating because of this pleasant interaction with the bus boy. If Armand's hired more people like the bus boy I truly believe their customer service would improve and make it an even more enjoyable experience for everyone. read more

Solid thin crust pizza but a few improvements and it could be better. Pizza sauce could use some seasoning, oregano, garlic, and maybe some olive oil. I think it's a great deal if you get the buy one get one free on Tuesday, but it's slightly overpriced when u pay full price, Pizza bread, great crusty bread, but the marinara was watery so it made the center of bread kinda soggy. Armand's is in a great location, right across from the Elmhurst Metra Station. My friend from the city took the train in and we walked right in and sat down. The interior is very clean and new. Large paintings on the wall, a big bar area on the side, big hardwood tables, and some TVs that look very out of place. We tried the pan pizza crust, with veggies on top. They charge a base rate here and add extra per topping, FYI. There was a lot of very fresh sauteed veggies piled on top; they didn't skimp here. The crust was doughy but cooked through (no raw dough encounters like at Giordano's), and there were piles of cheese on top. My only gripe is that I think the sauce was a little bland. The service was great here. Our waitress was very friendly and helped us decide on which size of pizza was appropriate. She checked in with us on a regular basis and the entire staff didn't have a problem with us finishing our meal while they were closing up. read more

Big fan of the Bruschetta appetizer. The bread was toasted perfectly where it's slightly crunchy on the outside while still chewable on the inside. The melted cheese was a nice touch and something you don't find often. Went here for lunch on a random Sunday around 12:30 and it seemed like we were the first guests of the day. It wasn't long before more people arrived but it seems like this is more of a dinner-type place. Decided to build our own thin crust pizza with bacon and pineapple. (Yea, they offer a Hawaiian thin crust, but its olive oil-based, not tomato-based and features ham, not bacon). The 12" was PLENTY for 2 very hungry people. They offer daily specials (which they kindly remind you is for DINE-IN ONLY NO EXCEPTIONS). Like Natalia S notes, check this place out on Tuesday's when they offer half-off on all pizzas. To-go apps only. That's what we did, so this is not a review for their pizza or their ambiance. We got in and got what we could in an effort to GTFO, and quickly. Why, you ask? There were time constraints, and we needed food. Fast. Armand's: very near to the venue in which myself and many of my colleagues were working with the super-awesome Candice G on her Passport to Elmhurst kick-off party. (Awesome party, btw!) We ordered some sandwiches and apps to-go and the lovely Colleen C and I bellied up to the bar and ordered a coupl'a Oberons in an effort to catch up/pass the time/play super-fast happy hour. Win. Here's the thing: Seemed as though, while we were quoted a 45-minute wait time for 'za, that our apps took almost just as long. (This was at 5pm or so, mind you.) Now, me? I come from a bar/restaurant background, so I understand waiting and I understand prep, so I'm usually not a stickler for that sort of stuff. But it seemed to take...well... awhile. It didn't matter, however, because our mini-happy hour was rad, and we got out with our foodstuffs just in time to return to the party to help out. We ordered: -two/three sandwiches (eggplant/beef/pepper+egg) -mac and cheese bites -two caprese salads -chicken tenders -bruschetta -I think that was it? And it's hard to gauge when you're going to-go, you know? But it was all pretty dang solid. Seems everyone digs their pizza a la other reviews, so I'd say give that a whirl?
