This place has amazing service and quality. I came on Tuesday night and our group ordered a pretty big order and even though the store was pretty crowded with people in line and waiting for their orders, our drinks came out faster than expected. All the matcha drinks were amazing 10/10 for quality and presentation (my favorite was the mango sticky rice matcha) and the pandan milk tea was a bit too sweet but everything was good overall. The cashier today was also very nice and helpful. I saw her going back and forth from the front and back, taking orders if anyone was ready from the kiosk line to help the line move faster, and she also packed all my drinks up nicely before so it saved time. I usually don't leave negative reviews, but my experience at Aroma this past Saturday 8/16/2025 was disappointing. When the cashier called my name and number, I accidentally pulled out the wrong receipt. Within 30 seconds I realized it and showed her the correct one. I told her, "you called my name and number," but instead of checking or confirming, she dismissed me and insisted my order wasn't ready yet. I knew my drinks were sitting on the shelf, but she refused to acknowledge it. By the time my number finally came up 25 minutes later, I was handed the exact drinks that had been sitting there the entire time, with the ice completely melted. Rather than apologizing or offering to remake the order, she tried to make it sound like she had called my number multiple times. At no point did anyone ask if I wanted fresh drinks. It's frustrating because this could have been resolved easily if someone had just listened instead of brushing me off. Mistakes happen, but customer service is about how you handle them. Next time, I hope the staff can actually pay attention and make things right instead of making the customer feel wrong. read more

As someone from out of town, I was surprised to learn that Aroma had only been open for a month. I was craving a sweet fix after eating in the area and stumbled upon this family-owned shop. The customer service was excellent and was welcomed in as soon as we walked in, I believe I was assisted by a fellow named Justin who was able to help me with recommendations. I had the pandan milk tea with boba and also got the purple rice avocado dessert for my parents. The presentation was great and went well with the shops overall aesthetic. The pandan milk tea with boba was very balanced, good flavor but not too sweet, and the cracker on top accented it surprisingly well. I don't live in San Jose and have tried many times prior to visit this place unsuccessful as it usually is packed during lunchtime. Today, I had an opportunity to visit after the lunch rush and was excited to try their drinks. When I ordered at the kiosk, I selected the watercrest and jelly drink, not knowing that it has mung beans in it. While waiting for our drinks to be ready, I looked at the pictures on the wall and realized a picture of one of the drinks I ordered has mung beans. I tried to get the attention of the gentleman behind the cashier, but he went to the back and into the kitchen. When I saw my drinks came out and as he was getting the drinks ready for pick up, I asked if he would scoop the mung beans all the way on the bottom of the cup for me. He told me, "I can't scoop it out for you and you're gonna have to scoop it out yourself." Now I have this drink I can't enjoy during my long car ride home because he "can't" scoop the mung beans which is all the way on the bottom of the cup. If it's on the top part of the cup I would not have bothered him. I am never coming back to this place. There was a young man sitting at one of the tables enjoying a drink--who then got up, kindly greeted and approached us. At this point the shop had only a few people in there and I can't recall why I couldn't hear him clearly--but he was very nice and friendly; made us aware he's happy to take our order and or answer any questions we may have. Decided to check it out the next time I was in the plaza bc they advertised a taro drink that looked so good! Customer service is amazing. The workers are super nice! It's crazy how many tea shops there are in this little plaza... Anyway, we were enticed by Aroma because they also offer chè. (They also open before noon, which is earlier than many tea shops, but not a distinguishing factor in this plaza.) I love egg coffee, but many places make it very sweet, so I requested extra shots of coffee. This was a mistake because it turns out the coffee here is actually very strong and bitter already! :) Unfortunately, I didn't find the egg cream to be very flavorful and the topping size seemed a little small. The chè also needed a little extra sugar as we thought it was not sweet enough. We got the safe and standard ba màu (three color), but I think we would try a different variety next time. read more
