I can't believe that my first time visiting was yesterday. Our "Galentine's Day get together was held here and there were 30 of us! They can accommodate large groups, give separate checks and keep up with requests. All of the staff worked together to ensure that our food was prepared and came out fresh. I enjoyed the chips and salsa which the bean dip was my favorite. The decor was interesting with all the animals hanging around you. They did have an issue with the Pepsi machine but it was rectified quickly. Now the service went above and beyond my expectations! Natalie was a dear sweetheart and took care of all of us. For my first time, I had a great experience. When you come through the door, there are specials that you can order from as well. I passed it by when I first walked in because I didn't see it. They also have a nice little bar and I recommend this place especially for large groups.

I am always looking for good Mexican food and frequently Yelp around looking for something new. I found Arriba to be pretty close to by stomping grounds in Goodyear and thought I'd give 'em a go. The outside is right on McDowell Rd. and looks like a festive place to dine. At the entrance is a very nice patio with a tropical mural painted on the wall. It made me wish it weren't winter! Upon entering, we were cheerfully greeted and seated quickly. The dining room is interesting and has Mexican stone walls with water drizzling down them. It the atmosphere was that of a secluded cool grotto and very comforting. Our server showed up shortly and asked for our drink orders. They did have a limited number of beer on draft which was a little disappointing, but did have an IPA in the bottle that I enjoyed. They then brought out chips, salsa and bean dip. I thought the bean dip was original and a tasty addition. My favorite Mexican food style is New Mexican. And Arriba's menu is full of New Mexican fare with lots of Hatch green Chile options. That's a big score with me! I decided on the New Mexico stacked enchiladas with an over easy egg on top. Top that with lettuce/onion and you have a meal made in heaven! While I am used to just plain cheese enchiladas, I dd try the beef this time. The beef was good and was not overdone with the typical taco meat seasoning. My wife had Hatch chicken especial which she really enjoyed as well. I think Arriba is a nice variation in Mexican food styles and look forward to discovering new dishes that I have not tried. Maybe a Chile Relleno with a nice Hatch Chile. Yum!

This is one of my fiancé & I's favorite local Mexican restaurant! The food is amazing & margaritas are a good price. Friendly staff too!

It was nothing like it used to be. The inside was dirty old and worse of all so dusty. Everywhere. There is a terrible mold smell, like a bathroom was cleaned with dirty rags. It was terrible and if it wasn't for the hurry we were in, we would have left. The server was wearing a mask but only barely covering his mouth. He was huffing and puffing the entire time. Like it was too much to even move around. Breathing all over the food. Not careful at all. He was nice but doesn't excuse it all. Can't imagine how that kitchen is. The place is so big it could really use a nice redecorating and a really deep deep clean. The service has always been nice. But the atmosphere the dirtiness and the food was all not worth it. My fajita was burnt to a crisp. Completely INEDIBLE!! I left all my food. I ate only the chips and guacamole.

Always great food and service! The decor is so relaxing and it's one of the few restaurants I don't have to wear my sweater in.

The Sonoran Quesadilla was awesome, but the real standout was the Asada Fries with no meat and extra queso. We loved them so much that we ordered them at the restaurant, then ordered them poolside twice. That should tell you everything. I also ordered the Quinoa Bowl pretty much every time we went, including through in-room dining, and it was consistently good. But the biggest surprise of the whole stay may have been the Coconut Flan. Oh my gosh. That was one of the best desserts I have had in a long time. Great food, great resort vibe, and several vegetarian-friendly wins with a few simple modifications. Easy 5 stars.

We came for an after dinner appetizer and some drinks and to watch the live music. We sat near the misters outside, so it was still really comfortable out, even though it was a bit hot out still. It was definitely a way better experience this go round.

The fried fish is delicious, not as crispy as it could be but wonderfully fresh and tender. The garlic butter rice is a little too salty for my taste but full of flavor! When we arrived I noticed that they had removed the eggplant sandwich from the menu. I was momentarily disappointed and mention to our server Aaron that I was sad to see it gone. Aaron immediately offered to check with the kitchen to see if they could make it for me since they do have an eggplant casserole on the menu. He came back in under a minute and said it was no problem to order it even though it's not on the menu! It was fantastic as always. Their sauce is really what makes this so delicious. It arrived hot with their amazing French fries and I enjoyed every bite. My husband had his favorite the chicken parm sandwich and he said it was perfect too. Two sandwiches, two iced teas. Lunch for under $40 before the tip. Hard to beat that these days. After lunch, the manager stopped by to see if everything was as we hoped it would be. I believe his name is Curtis (so sorry if I've got that wrong). He was friendly and genuinely interested in whether everything was satisfactory. Between Aaron's outstanding service and Curtis's genuine interest in customer satisfaction, the spotlessly clean and comfortable dining room and very clean bathrooms, we are more committed than ever to support this independently owned restaurant rather than the plethora of chain restaurants in the West Valley. Just an excellent experience every single time. Thank you.

We actually followed the owners here after frequenting their previous coffee shop, En Route. When they opened New Penny, supporting them was an easy decision. The café is thoughtfully divided into two distinct spaces: a family-friendly dining area and a lounge-style bar area geared more toward adults. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. There are house-made dishes, local merchandise, a shaded patio, and plenty of charm throughout. My wife's favorites are the Breakfast Totchos and the Acai Bowl. Personally, I am also a loyal Breakfast Totchos fan. As for drinks, the Copper Coin and the legendary Cowboy Latte are both worth ordering. What truly sets New Penny apart, however, is the people. The owners and staff have created a space that feels inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely connected to the community. Support local businesses. Better yet, support local businesses that are doing things the right way. Get to know the owners. Get to know the staff. Places like New Penny don't just serve food and coffee--they create gathering places. Whether you're meeting a friend, taking a business meeting, enjoying a date, or simply looking for a quiet place to sit by yourself, New Penny delivers. One of my favorite local businesses, and one that my family will continue to support.
