Review for salad bar only: Well, the variety is poor, there's only one choice of salad, which would be wilted Spring Mix. There's like tomatoes and carrots as add ons. That's pretty much it. Couscous has a bunch of onions in it, other stuff just doesn't look appetizing, french fries were soggy, burgers were already pre-made... They do have a vegetarian version for burgers and I can't speak about the rest of the food, because it most likely had garlic, which I am allergic to. Beets have oil on them? WHY? Healthy? Me thinks not. Edible? NO. May I suggest Tressider for salads?

This dining hall is located near meyer library and near the old gym and athletic facilities (track, pool, tennis courts), so it is great for convenience. It is one of the largest dining halls and serves quite a large amount of students. I think that most of the students are freshman (given the proximity to freshman dorms), so it can get a little crowded and noisy. Food: For a dining hall, I give the food an above average grade. They have a solid salad bar, and a wide variety of side dishes. The main dishes are usually hit or miss, so you should check online first to make sure you're going on a good day. Atmosphere: While it is spacious and they try to make it a comfortable place with TV's all around, I get the feeling that it is a little dirty, and more of a elementary school cafeteria feeling than a restaurant/sit-down place. Especially during the summer, there are often young youth groups that come in waves so that can make your experience a little hectic. Expert tip: I highly recommend you go during parent's weekend or welcome week where parents are there - the food during those days are PHENOMENAL.

This place has a trendy, stylish atmosphere that feels perfect for date night, drinks with friends, or a nice night out. The space itself was probably my favorite part of the experience. The restaurant leans into an elevated New American menu and cocktail-bar vibe. As for the food... it was okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. I remember feeling like some of the dishes didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting, especially for the price point. The menu sounded more exciting than the actual food ended up being. The biggest thing I remember is that it just wasn't very memorable. When I think back on the meal, I remember the nice ambiance more than any specific dish. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for the price, I was hoping for at least one "wow, I need to order that again" item. The vibe is great, but the food didn't quite live up to the setting for me. I'd be open to giving it another try, but it's not currently at the top of my list of places to revisit.

Mom recommended RH, THE ROOFTOP RESTAURANT at RH PALO ALTO. She called the restaurant and was able to book a 10 AM reservation for three. Located at the Stanford Shopping Center, we were able to easily and quickly find parking in the spacious lot. We arrived a little early, so walked around the Restoration Hardware showroom for a bit before walking up the stairs to the upscale restaurant perched on the third floor. The mansard space, with its floor to ceiling glass walls and roof, emulates a giant dazzling sunroom with trees growing out of the floor and elegant glass chandeliers hanging above nearly every table. The modern fountain and airy ambiance provide a relaxing setting for a nice meal while soaking in the glam surroundings and sunshine or admiring the beautiful sunsets. Outdoor seating is also available in their wraparound patio with comfy couches. RH PALO ALTO offers elevated American eats, plus beer, wine, and cocktails. The menu leans into opulent, fancified takes on classics, serving decadent dishes like CAVIAR CARPACCIOS (ranging from $18 to $28) and other CAVIAR SPECIALTIES such as GRILLED AVOCADO WITH CAVIAR ($38) and IMPOSSIBLY THIN HOUSEMADE CHIPS & DIP (15g $55, 30g $95). Below are what we ordered: LOBSTER ROLL ($36) - Z found this to be very good, I thought it was meh. The lobster could have used a bigger Dash of Mayo. On the small side. SWEDISH PANCAKES ($18) with fresh strawberries (for an extra charge) - I was disappointed that these pancakes were not served with the traditional lingonberry butter. These were not even warm enough to melt the slices of butter that topped them. KING CRAB ROLL ($58) - Also a petite serving, but this sandwich was tastier than the lobster version. Z said that it was very good, just like the lobster. HERITAGE PORK SAUSAGE ($12) - Flavourful; however, served cold. TRUFFLE FRIES ($20) - Fried to a perfectly golden crisp. RH BELLINI ($18) - Kudos to RH for serving an authentic bellini with genuine peach purée. This cocktail was yummy. Supposedly the BELGIAN WAFFLE was so remarkable to draw Mom back multiple times. Unfortunately, we were told that that they were no longer serving waffles. Mom was very disappointed by this. To boot, service was nothing to rave about. It seemed to be a bit challenging to catch the attention of our waitress to inform her that all of our dishes were served cold. When we finally got the chance to tell her, she didn't say much and appeared to leave us hanging. Later, the manager on duty came to speak with us, replaced most of the cold dishes, and comped an item. Still, this did not remedy Mom's dismay. She said that she will not return.

While I never…read moremet the man, he has incredible taste, because Sweet Maple has the best breakfast food I've ever had in the bay area. Well worth the trip. The two of us were dubious about the Millionaire's Bacon, because it was hyped up to the point where it seemed unlikely that it could live up to the reputation. We were wrong. We ordered the Millionaire's Bacon sampler platter, which is four strips of long, thick pieces of bacon, baked with brown sugar and spices. There is the original, which is brown sugar, cayenne, red, and black pepper, which was sweet, salty, and the perfect amount of spicy. The other slices were orange, cinnamon, and rosemary. My partner enjoyed the orange best, whereas I loved the cinnamon, but we both thought the rosemary was underwhelming. The bacon itself was very thick and meaty with a minimal amount of fat, and was just clearly high quality pork. Truly worth the hype. We also got the bottomless mimosas, which not only had multiple choices of juice (we got raspberry lemonade) but were surprisingly heavy on the champagne. The waiter kept them coming without us needing to ask, to the point where I had to tell him I was done because I was a little too tipsy for breakfast. My partner got the chicken croffle, and was very impressed. I tried the fried chicken (though not the croffle) and it was very well spiced, very crunchy, and well cooked--juicy and tender. I got the big hip, which is deep fried "french toast". I wouldn't call it french toast myself, but it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and came with fresh fruit, butter, and syrup. There wasn't enough syrup for the entire dish, but I asked our waiter for more and he came back with it in less than a minute. On top of the food being as close to perfect as you can get, the service was great. Several different waiters checked in on us throughout the meal, making sure we were enjoying the food and that we didn't need anything else. The vibes of the restaurant are really enjoyable too. The décor is lovely, the sound levels are very reasonable, and everything was spotless during our visit. Overall, I can't recommend Sweet Maple enough, and I'm kind of glad it's not closer to my house because I would go bankrupt with the amount of Millionaire's Bacon I'd buy on a weekly basis.

I generally avoid omelettes getting scrambles instead because restaurants tend to overcook the eggs. Our dishes were prepared with quality and flavor in mind. I personally had the crab omelette and left no crumbs behind. The potatoes were well seasoned and wish I had enough room in my tummy to finish them off! We decided to do a walk in since the bar seating is first come first serve. Inside the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff were so incredibly friendly and kind! While we were waiting, the manager of the restaurant gave us sparkling wine on the house because he felt bad we had to wait, which we thought was such a thoughtful gesture! We chose this place to celebrate our anniversary and although it was a little bit of wait, the service here already made it worth it. As for the food, we ordered the oysters, milk bread, kampachi, sugar snap peas, tuna on koshikari rice, dry aged duck, and the black cod. The food was absolutely delicious! The duck was probably the only item on our order that we would skip out on next time, but everything else we would definitely get again. The oysters were our favorite item that we ordered! It was topped with an aerated ponzu sauce with a celery oil(?) and that was amazing. Definitely recommend the oysters. Rather than dismissing our concerns, they took our feedback to heart and extended an invitation to return--one we decided to accept. Last night, we had dinner at Arya and it was the event of the day for my wife and me. From the moment we arrived, the entire team--from the receptionists to our server Serdar and the support staff--treated us as honored guests. Every interaction felt warm and genuine. The food was exceptional. We started with a mezze platter featuring delicious spreads, pastries, and felafel, followed by a mixed green salad that showcased some of the best burrata we've ever had, topped with tiny, sweet berries. Our main courses were equally memorable: a stunning Fesenjoon pomegranate-walnut chicken stew with a perfect balance of slightly sweet and tart, and a side of basmati rice studded with almonds, pistachios, berries, and orange peel. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, unique, and delicious. But what truly made the evening special was the service and genuine hospitality. Serdar, our server, was remarkably warm and attentive. We had fascinating conversations with him about his world travels, the uniqueness of Persian cuisine, and his recommendations for authentic Turkish breakfast and dinner spots (he's half Greek and half Turkish, which made his recommendations all the more authentic and personal). Mehdi introduced himself during the meal and checked in on us with a genuine interest in our experience, not just as a manager, but as someone who truly cares. When we mentioned we had no room for dessert, Mehdi surprised us with a beautifully presented pistachio-saffron ice cream served in an ornate bowl made of ice--a perfect final touch that felt like a work of art. This visit demonstrated that Arya is a restaurant that listens, cares, and delivers on its promise to provide not just excellent food, but genuine hospitality. We left feeling valued and delighted.
