We had a girls lunch (yes, they are open for lunch now) and the food is amazing. Very healthy and delicious options. We tried many items of their menu, including bowls, salad, quiche, beef with cabbage, spicy coconut pasta, mushroom soup and pumpkin soup. Soups are must try! So are the desserts. Absolutely the best in the area. Agree with others about the decor. Nicely done! A good place to visit to impress yours guests. Plenty of parking options. Friendly staff. Service: Very good! We were greeted by the owner who was very welcoming. Staff was also super kind with smiles on their faces. Explained everything so well. Quality: Top-notch. People in this area expect higher quality with fresh ingredients and the menu didn't disappoint. If they maintain this level of quality, they can do well. Price: Pricey. I understand you are in McLean and people will be willing to pay more, but it's borderline cost-prohibitive. Just my 2 cents. Overall very nice spot in McLean! read more

What a lovely place! It is so inviting and beautifully decorated. I have fully enjoyed their Boba tea's along with their delicious deserts! My favorites are the Pavlova and Strawberry Cheesecake on a stick. Their new seasonal deserts are delicious as well. I look forward to trying their High Tea experience. ArTeA is the place to go for a sweet treat! Their pasteries are beautifully designed and almost too picture perfect to eat.

Beautiful interior with lovely art and friendly staff. I was drawn in by the story of the family effort and their commitment to both art and tea. I so badly wish tea houses were more common-- who doesn't love an excuse to get dressed up and go out to a fancy tea service with the gals? But I understand the business model is tricky-- thus why so many high teas are at hotels-- and was therefore intrigued by the concept of this place as tea room/restaurant/cafe. Take this review with the caveat that this is still a very new spot. Things are bound to change as they get into the groove of things. Ambiance: Comfortable, cute, artsy. Love the place settings, love the paintings. I would nix the random TV playing Netflix movies on one wall, and replace it with...art. The TV distracts from the tea, the company, and the food, and it cheapens the vibe. Service: Nice but awkward. Staff are friendly and helpful, but they often seem like they aren't sure what to do and things are timed oddly. I was hoping the tea somm could elucidate what made the teas chosen for the menu special, because we love tea and there are a lot of options, and she did eventually make some recommendations with prompting, but some of her explanation of the menu was more on the order of 'this is your basic Earl grey'. I do love basic Earl grey in the mornings with breakfast, sure, but I'm dressed up and paying through the nose here-- sell me on it! Food: Unfortunately, the food was...just not good. - Dry scones hit the table before water or drink orders...with no explanation and 3 incomprehensible sauce options. I'd rather just be hungry for a bit and wait until you have time to engage with the customer. It's a high tea-- I'm not showing up starved. The scones themselves were okay but mostly left me confused and dry mouthed. How was lemon curd meant to go with...gochujang aioli, I'm guessing? Have some pride in what you made, and tell us what it is so we can fully appreciate it! There was no cohesion in the dish as presented. First impressions are everything. - The traditional high tea tower: This is going to look fly on your insta reels. It's visually impressive, but the flavors and textures are not so much. - Smoked salmon pinwheel; super soft bread and way too much cream filling. Awkward to eat, and just mush in the mouth. - Pink Earl Grey deviled egg has no discernable flavor. I don't get tea, or deviled egg, I just get boiled egg. - Beef and pineapple mayo salad is served in the world's driest pastry cup. - The fourth savory option was a cold bread roll stuffed with underseasoned mayo-based artichoke salad. It's giving grab n go cellophane-wrapped chicken salad sandwich. Toast up the bread and season that thing and you might have something, though. Overall with the savory dishes the through line is under seasoned, mayo/cream cheese, bland. Sweets - Vegan chocolate truffle was dense and gritty, completely lacking the melt-on-the-tongue silkiness that you expect from a truffle. - Matcha petit four was one of the better items, though it still needs tweaking. The density and balance of sweetness is not quite right. - Density also a bit off in the snickers macaron, and I found the flavors hit a note that was more childish than whimsically childlike. The idea is fun, but the execution didn't hit the mark. - The blueberry leaf was also one of the better items, because there's really an impressive amount of blueberry flavor there, which can be hard to do. Unfortunately the texture was odd? The outside is so soft that it's hard to bring to your mouth without crushing it, and again the mouthfeel is just...all mush, no texture. Tea: By recommendation we tried the two tea offerings that seemed the most unique to ArTea - The family Nomad tea, which unfortunately sounded a lot more interesting than it tasted, because it just tasted like basic black tea with milk - The Q milk oolong, which was intriguing and a lovely surprise, with a unique play of flavors. Best thing we had at ArTea, definitely. I don't regret giving this new place a try. I am so, so eager for a good new tea house in the area...but for the price, I can't recommend this. Not yet, anyway. Maybe if ArTea finds its voice and masters execution better. But for the amount charged for a high tea...the execution needs to be much, much more refined. read more

This was a fabulous spot for a lunch catchup with friends. The decor is fresh and chic and fun - it's light and airy and clean. The menu has lots of choices including vegan and vegetarian. I had the mushroom omelette and it was fabulous and unexpected. A blend of mushrooms and corn and topped with baked, whipped, egg whites. Every dish was gorgeous. Only downside was it was slow, so prepare for a leisurely meal and you're set. read more

We did a tea for Mother's Day and it was amazing! Food was perfect very unique and thoughtful flavors and I like how they had options for GF/DF/V. The service and staff were excellent they were very knowledgeable on every food item and treated us very well. I would absolutely love to go again with friends. This place is amazing. Their green tea with boba is splendid and I love the options to select my own preference of sweetness. We had such a delightful lunch here with Grandma! My daughter loved the spinach waffles and I love that they had so many gluten free options. The tea was delicious, and there were so many great choices I will need to come back and try the others. The art on the walls was so beautiful, we got to meet one of the artists which was also a real treat. The people helping were very kind, the atmosphere was sweet and relaxing. I think this would be a great space to meet for a friendly visit or mellow business lunch, I did not get to check out the mocktails (they have regular cocktails too) or the dessert menu, will look forward to those another time! My daughters and I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this new bubble tea shop in McLean. Happened to check and saw they were open for May's Soft Opening hours. Tried a standard milk tea with boba and was gifted a complimentary mango pastry. Both were delicious. The owner and her husband introduced themselves as well as each of their staff members. Everyone was lovely and the shop felt clean and calming. I walked over, but there's plenty of parking. They offer about a dozen tea choices, and talked about upcoming specialty tea and coffee drinks. There are also several flavors of gelato, sorbet, and frozen yogurt, plus a variety of delicious looking pastries. They spoke about filling a niche for items previously hard to find in McLean, including gluten free items. All natural colors, monk fruit as a healthy sweetener in desserts...they clearly take pride in offering a high end product and I wish them success and plan to return soon. read more
