I found this restaurant on TikTok and immediately knew I had to try it, so my friends and I made a reservation for Sunday brunch at 12:30. When we arrived, parking was definitely a challenge. Once inside, there weren't many people indoors, although the outdoor patio had a decent crowd. We were told our reservation was for inside seating and that we couldn't be moved outside. However, a couple we had chatted with in the bathroom mentioned they didn't even have a reservation and were seated outside right away. That was a little frustrating. After speaking with the hostess, another host, Joanna (aka Jojo), stepped in and was incredibly kind and accommodating. She was able to get us seated outside, and we really appreciated her help. The outdoor ambiance is absolutely beautiful. It feels like a little garden oasis with sandy areas that give it a beachy vibe. It's such a relaxing, fun place to have brunch. The service was great. One server brought our drinks while our waitress took care of us, and they were both friendly, upbeat, and attentive. The food was good! I ordered the chicken sandwich with an egg on top. I was starving, so I devoured it, but I do remember the chicken being really well seasoned; our waitress even mentioned that beforehand, and she was right. The brunch special was also a great value. For around $29, you got your entrée plus a mimosa or Bellini, which I thought was well worth it. Despite the initial seating hiccup, I would definitely come back. Located inside the Delamar Hotel, this place is clearly popular. We originally wanted drinks and appetizers at the bar, but it was packed, so we grabbed a table instead. There were several celebrations going on, which made the atmosphere lively and fun. The food was great -- I had the Steak Frites and we shared a cheese plate. This is my third time at artisan , and I have heard many great things about the restraint located right in the Delmar hotel in west Hartford . The staff is always lovely , and nice ambiance with low music nice lighting not to dim ( which I appreciate ) . The food was good. We started with the house bread which was served fresh and warm . Next I got the house salad which was good , fresh ingredients the avacado and pomegranates added an extra flavour which I enjoyed . For my entree I got the chicken with potato's and mushrooms and Brussels sprouts . Everything was good . The chicken cooked nice but lacked seasoning . The potatoes were okay . The mushrooms were fabulous bursting with flavour . For dessert we got the chefs trio , a chocolate pastry , raspberry sorbet and crème brûlée . Everything was good but nothing to brag about . For the appetizer, we ordered the crab with pineapples and a sauce that had a kick, which wasn't too spicy. The pineapples were sweet and evened out the salty crab. For the meal, I had the lobster roll. The coleslaw lacked flavor. And the buttery lobster roll was just okay. The fries that came with the lobster roll was wayyyyy too salty. Big portion size sure, but is it really big if barely any of it ends up in your stomach? Our bill did end up getting subtracted, which was nice of them. Not sure I would revisit. Not my palate. I've been to the Artisan Restaurant located in The Delamar Hotel a few times for happy hour drinks and food, which has never disappointed. Had some family come in from our of town so the Artisan was the obvious choice for dinner. However, this visit left me short of the high expectations I held. ALL the lights continuously flickered on and off throughout the entire evening. It wasn't just the one above us; It was both distracting and uncomfortable. We were told this has been an issue for a few days now. I ordered the pork chops and my partner the catch of the day cioppino; both tasted good flavor wise and the cioppino was done well, but the pork was overdone and somewhat hard to cut. For drinks, we got the Polemo Manhattan, Riptide, and the Artisan's choice (bartender's unique cocktail) with a tequila base. Artisan's choice ended up pretty much being essentially a basic margarita. Not worth the $1 upcharge. Highly recommend the Riptide, however. It was essentially dessert! Delicious! Eveeyone was happy, but for the price point and standards of this restaurant, I expected more. I think I'll stick to happy hour and skip regular dinner service in the future. read more

This is a great brunch spot located near blue back square. Although the restaurant has indoor seating/dining and private rooms for events, my fave is the outdoor garden for dining. Not sure about Saturday brunch but on Sundays there is always live music playing. Free parking in the small lot near the restaurant tends to fill up fast even if you are arriving when the restaurant opens for brunch. As does the street parking across the street. There are 2 parking garages located nearby that are a short walk to the restaurant. The brunch menu has something for everyone and it would be easy to find something to meet everyone is your parties taste. Food as always was great. This is one of the best places in West Hartford to go to celebrate something. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor patio with a charming little garden, which serves as a nice backdrop for birthdays, anniversaries, or maybe a special date. The food is always amazing and the staff are professional. I've been here many times, and on this latest visit, I had the organic kale Caesar salad to start. The fact that I ate the kale and actually liked it shows that it was put together really well. The chicken breast was satisfying crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I dined with a long time friend to celebrate his recent birthday and I mentioned I had reservations to the restaurant which could not be located. Luckily, we were there early enough that they had tables available and the host was able to seat us immediately. We were offered a table either inside or outside and we chose the latter. The outdoor patio was closed off to the elements and had an overhead heater to keep guests warm. The wireless lamps were also a nice touch although the one on our table was at the end of its life. Didn't bother to ask for a replacement though. Our server absolutely on point and very cheery. He came to inquire about our food often and was very inviting. We tried the beef sliders which I remembered from Artisan's Garden Party earlier in the season as well as the beet salad which was very delicious. I was able to enjoy the Scottish Salmon A La Plancha that came with a variety of vegetables. The salmon was crunchy and tasteful while the vegetables were absolutely perfect. I much enjoyed the veggies more than I did the protein. My friend had the Mushroom Bolognese and he was very happy with that too. For the final touch, he blew a candle on a Pumpkin Cheesecake and loved very much. This visit was absolutely spectacular. I would recommend Artisan over and over again. I cannot believe the difference in what I experienced. Scallops were overcooked and overly salty. My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and it was so cute and such an intimate dining experience we sat in their heated outdoor dining area. We started off by sharing a lobster roll. I had the jumbo sea scallops that were so delicious! My boyfriend wanted the swordfish but they had just ran out so he had their all natural chicken breast he enjoyed it. There are several parts to this restaurant: a large private dining room; the main dining room with a large mural of fig plants (which I loved); the bar area which is rustic and more casual; and an outside patio. We had dinner late in the restaurant. The service was terribly slow. I had disappointing seafood chowder. It had one shrimp, one clam, and a couple of very thin slices of shittake mushrooms, and it was loaded with thinly sliced/chopped (I think) fennel and small-crunchy-unsatisfying croutons. As we were staying at the hotel, we had buffet breakfasts here as well. Sitting outside looking out at the beautiful gardens was lovely. The garden does have some "critters" running around so we had to be moved inside last time. Ok onto the food. I had the lobster roll that time and the fries were cold. They did bring me fresh fries which were ok. This time around I had the Cioppino which was extremely salty. Even my bf thought so and he doesn't usually say things are salty. It was topped with grouper and in a lobster bisque sauce. Not my favorite dish but mostly bc of the saltiness. Wasn't very full so then got the strawberry dessert special. Didn't care for that either. Aside from that, hostess stand was also hard to find. It's next to the bar. Would be nice if it was at the front as you walk in. What a lovely meal. We ate outside in their gorgeous patio:garden on a cool summer evening. Such a great place to eat. You feel like you're just out of the hustle of west hartford center. The server was amazing. Georgia was friendly, helpful, attentive and seemed like our best friend with suggestions. And the food? The seafood chowder is an excellent example of how to make a great chowder. Fresh ingredients, not too thick, and they pour the broth in fresh tot he bowl. I love that. The heirloom Yamato caprese was also terrific. Really farm fresh tomatoes in season make this dish. I got the mushroom and gnocchi special. Loved this. The gnocchi were just these perfect pockets of ricotta and the perfect bite size. The sea scallop fish was also great with my dining partner saying they were the best she's had all year. The dessert was a bit weird. We loved the pumpkin spiced bread but it came topped with a lemon sorbet. The sorbet itself was great but in combo with the other flavors it was a bit jarring. Appreciate the creativity but a vanilla or cinnamon ice cream would've worked better. Nice presentation though so I can't ding them too much. It happens in creative kitchens. Date night!! Came here and was beyond impressed by the food, the hospitality, and ambiance. The creme brûlée is a MUST. While my partner went to the restroom, one of the waiters brought out her food with a metal cover on it so it would stay warm for her (which I found extremely considerate and they went out of their way to keep the food warm). The hotel is lovely and the Artisan is part of the hotel. The bar and dining area are well decorated, the bartender served a great drink and we had the truffle fries. The patio area was lovely and I wished we had more time to hang out and enjoy this outdoor space. I really enjoyed the truffle fries, they were crunchy and had Parmesan sprinkled on them. Absolutely a must! It's located inside the Del Mar hotel, however their entrance is in the back where you can also park. You won't valet unless you are staying in the hotel. Staff was very nice and our table was ready. I made reservations on the Open Table app, however, you can also make reservations through their website. The food was really good for brunch and will certainly come back for dinner. If you are looking for a nice experience either with family, friends, a date, this is a good option. It wasn't crowded which was nice and our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The staff worked well together which I like to see. The drinks have fresh ingredients and we actually saw the bartender prepping for service and you could smell the mint in the air. Our party of three had Thanksgiving dinner at Artisan and it was fantastic. It was a prix fixe meal, with plenty of choices in each category except the amuse bouche, which was the only time you didn't have a choice and unfortunately was the only thing we didn't like. Two of us are not smoked fish fans, so the smoked fish profiterole didn't stand a chance with us, but the one who does like smoked fish didn't like it either. After that, everything was amazing. The flavors were exquisite, the presentation was beautiful, the portions were perfect. (Except the wild mushroom ravioli portion was too small for my nephew. However, the taste of this incredible dish made it worth it. I shared some of my dinner with him to fill him up.) Our waiter, Steven, was professional, attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable. We were seated in the Pergola, which was heated, but while our upper bodies were comfortable, the lower half was a little chilly. A few floor-level heaters might help. We always have a good meal at Artisan, and I really appreciate the new vegetable dishes they've added! The outdoor garden and covered patio is heated and beautiful, that's where we prefer to sit. I had a surprise birthday party brunch for my wife on Saturday July 26. We were a party of 12 and a long single table was set up under a nice, shaded area in the garden. Our server Valeria could not have been more pleasant and attentive, not overbearing. Have been here a couple times for dinner over the last 2 years. The decor and ambiance are nice, the service is great and attentive. The food is good but there has definitely been a change over time. Came here a few months ago for a birthday dinner. Had the harvest fig cocktail which was delicious. I enjoyed my gnocchi- very well cooked and great flavors. The swordfish was average. Desserts were tasty. I had mentioned we were coming for a bday dinner in my reservation and appreciated that they did something nice with dessert to wish my husband a happy bday! In search of a new place for Sunday brunch, I came across Artisan, located in the beautiful Del Mar Hotel. After a trip around the block (small lot was full) I found a parking spot on a side street. Being curious, I went through the hotel's gorgeous lobby, took a right at the elevators & went down the hallway, passing by the restrooms & their multiple dining rooms, one being intimate, private with a table that sat maybe 16 people. I arrived in the bar area to find my dining partner at the front desk. On this day they had live acoustics & later an angelic singer would join him. Since it was a perfect day of weather, we sat in the partially covered outside tables. The ambiance is like sitting in a secret garden! Surrounded by wood beams, columns, strubs, hedges, & a actual raised garden in the middle. For food, French toast & the crepe were ordered, along with a bloody mary & mimosa, that's included. The drinks came out quickly & were delish! I could tell there was more Prosecco than OJ in my drink. For my 1st time, tasting a bloody mary, it tasted like cocktail sauce with a little horseradish (ordered mild). We finished our drinks before the food arrived so of course we ordered another round. Another first for me was the crepe, which came open topped with a sunny side egg. According to my friend , they're usually rolled with berries on top, so this was unique. The crepe was soft & the yolk provided the "syrup" so it wasn't dry. The ham provided a little saltiness. The greens were greens, nothing special. My friend enhaled her french toast, so it must of been satisfying. During brunch, the singer of classic songs, like My Girl, walked around & gave attention to the children, singing for them & not one cried. Even though the food took a bit to arrive, the customer service was good & we were checked on frequently. I celebrated my birthday this past weekend at Artisan as I had a flawless experience the previous month with impeccable service and delicious food. Although the night started off wonky, it became such a lovely experience and one I cannot wait to return to experience again. My family absolutely adored how stunning the outdoors area is. We were seated where there was a covering. It rained so it was a dripping a bit. The servers moved our table around a few times, but ultimately, we were moved to a different table to avoid any further splash! Our server was SO lovely. She was patient and kind the whole time. We ordered a good variety of items from the menu and loved it. I ordered the scallops for myself and it was DELICIOUS! The broth was flavorful and the tomatoes were big and juicy! I have to say my favorite thing about Artisan is their dessert menu. You cannot get a more perfect pavlova anywhere else. I've gotten in everytime I've came and I will continue to do so if they have one on the menu! Overall, Artisan is a must for all. This restaurant is inside of a hotel. Parking is a little tricky but once inside, the ambiance is amazing. Service was very prompt and responsive. Our water glasses were never empty. Our waitress had great timing and seemed to sense when we needed something. We all tried various dishes, I had the banana pancakes. At first, I was skeptical about 25.00 pancakes, but this included a mimosa as well. The serving was huge and I really tried hard to finish my meal, but I could not. The pancakes were thick and delicious, I almost did not need syrup. My table mates shared the three scoops of sorbet and I did have a spoonful-it was delightful! Seems like a lot of people hold business meetings here or go on a fancy night out.  The wait staff was very attentive but not in an overbearing kind of way. I had two different types of drinks, The Northern Lights (a gin drink) and Apple Crisp (a martini) both were delicious! The bread they gave as a starter was perfectly crunchy and warm.  For our entree, we ordered a steak dish for two which was amazing. They were very accommodating because I like my steak medium rare, whereas my date likes it well done, so they cooked half and half to our liking. Location is right in Blueback Square which is a good location but sometimes annoying for parking. There are a few free restaurant parking spots in the back but if you can't find parking there you need to do paid street or garage parking. read more
