    Grilled Local Calamari
    David N.

Artisan is truly a fitting name for this restaurant. We've been coming here consistently for some time and the ambiance, appetizers, entrees, desserts and service have been consistently stellar. It's Independence Day and the weather is beautiful so we decided to visit Artisan today to dine outdoors. This was a great decision because we had another superlative experience. I highly recommend the Calamari appetizer which is cooked to tender perfection. I also recommend the Crispy Duck Confit entree which melted off the bone. If you ever decide to visit Artisan and yearning for a great dessert, opt for the Peanut Butter Mousse dessert. What a great way to celebrate part of our 4th of July with another wonderful dining experience here. Happy 4th of July!

Went to a conference at Artisan and the patio was definitely the star, relaxed, pretty, and perfect for hanging out. The Dela Margarita (with tequila, prickly pear, lime, and agave) was amazing and easily the highlight. The food was fine, salad was fresh, chicken entree was okay but small, and dessert felt more like a snack than a treat. I'd go back just to sip cocktails on that patio with the live music.

This restaurant is very classy! Go for a special occasion. The atmosphere is amazing and the table settings are perfect. The food was fine. Our appetizer was great but our main courses lacked flavor. Perhaps it was an off day, we've been there a few times before after spa treatments and the food was amazing. They have ample parking and valet at night.

Amazing upscale restaurant attached to the Delamar Hotel in downtown Southport. Wine list is very extensive and very pricy. Few if any bottles under $50. The food is wonderful from scallops to steak and pasta, you simply cannot go wrong. The service is what you'd expect from a fine dining venue; efficient, polite and attentive. Use Artisan for special occasions: there are private dining rooms and lots of nooks with tables. The bar is lovely and lively. Valet parking only.

The food is a 4, but the rest of the experience is a 3. Artisan delivers fine dining food with fine dining prices. The average entree price was around $45 and appetizers were around $25. The menu had lots of compelling choices, but mainly seafood. There are fewer options if you're not into seafood. I had a melon gazpacho for an appetizer and stonington sea scallops for an entree. The soup was as one might expect for fine dining. The sea scallops were tender and sweet. The rest of the table had beef carpaccio and chicken mousse for appetizers. Others at the table order lobster carbonara, scallops, monkfish, and hangar steak. All the dishes looked and tasted great. Unfortunately, the service was slow. We found ourselves with long waits between courses. That's probably on the kitchen being understaffed. However, the service had some gaps. The most noticeable, was the one of the people at our table dropped some butter on the middle of table. I waited all evening to see if any of the waitstaff would quickly wipe it up, but they never did. They just kept servicing our table and laying dishes around this glob of butter sitting on the table :) When the bread basket was empty, we had to ask for more bread - maybe they do that to control costs, but with those menu prices, I kind of expected them to refill an empty bread basket. Overall, good food, but give yourself plenty of time for dinner because it's going to take 2+ hours.

We enjoyed a very tasty dinner to celebrate a birthday. The tuna tartare appetizer was excellent. Both the hanger steak, cioppono and grilled chicken were cooked to perfection. The cheesecake dessert was sublime. Artisans has a good wine list. Our server was knowledgeable. The ambiance made for a special celebration.

Artisan features farm-to-table cuisine with a menu that changes daily. From the beginning of the evening to end, this establishment delivers quite the adventure for diners with discerning palettes. Said adventure begins just trying to find the place. Nestled within the Delamar Hotel, the restaurant boasts no visible signage to the casual bypasser, which demonstrated to this patron just how exclusive it tries to be. I was attending New Year's Eve dinner with friends and got there a bit late because I had to circle around to try to find the entrance and parking. After a few laps and some help from GPS, I caught a rain-blurred glimpse of a very, very small sign bearing the restaurant's name. I pulled in and was greeted by an attendant. Note: Bring some cash since parking is valet. The valet is free, but you'll need something with which to tip. NYE offered an a la carte menu until a certain time and then after was prix-fixe. We dined during the a la carte period. Translation: $$$$. We began with a ginger orange cappuccino with citrus créma. Delish! The Crispy Montrachet Goat Cheese salad was perfection. Each square of cheese was adorned in crisp, dry coating with the cheese inside at the perfect consistency. The pairing with red endive and multicolored beets was superb both to eye and palette. The filet mignon was hearty in size and the Marchand de vin sauce delicious. The Roquefort creamed spinach was heavy and filling but very good. The pommes Dauphine (not Dauphinoises) were perfect. Dessert wasn't as stellar. The Granny Smith and Anjou Pear crumble had more crumble than fruit. I didn't bother to take a food porn photo for that. To bring us back to the theme of adventure, the restrooms are located outside of the restaurant beyond the front desk of the hotel. (?) Artisan is an ideal place to go to celebrate a special occasion or take a special date. I would go again in either of those instances. I like the surprise of not knowing what will be on the menu until arrival (or a cheating glance on the website that day).

We first went to the spa and then had lunch. The spa is amazing very clean and the staff was super professional. After the spa we went down for lunch the seafood salad with quinoa and it was very good. All the ingredients were super fresh and the calamari were cooked just right. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was beautifully decorated with lots of flowers and citrus. They take credit card and valet parking is available

Great private room, excellent service and we loved it. Doughnut dessert was great. Party of 10 for business and we were not disappointed.

Went there for my mother's 70th birthday. The service was great but the food was average. Not worth it for the price point.

You're greeted to the warmth of one of two fireplaces in the restaurant. You can sit inside or enjoy one of the attached sun porches, which makes it perfect to revisit in the summer when the weather warms up. Staff was friendly, quick and attentive. Food was delicious with great portions. They offer Sunday brunch, however you have the option to order from their standard menu. My party ordered the eggs Benedict, the tuna bowl, and the California chicken wrap. Key things of note: The amount of parking available for the restaurant. Aside from its own lot to the side, there is an additional lot right in front with parking dedicated to the restaurant and gym next door. The restaurant is conveniently located right off the exit from i95, making it easy to find and a reliable place to stop and eat without going too out of the way. I definitely plan to revisit The Gray Goose in the future!

I was not prepared to wait that long with two hungry kids. So, we were seated immediately and my kids were happy. They liked the pizza and chicken fingers--all above average from their perspective. And my wife and I felt good about our dishes too: the ahi tuna sushi bowl and the miso salmon. All tasty and reliably good. Massive portions. We had to take some home. The ambiance is nice. The bar had the world Cup games on and the place was buzzing. The patio was filled to the brim too. All in all, a good little spot in Southport.
