5 star dive bar, fo sho! Initially, during the transition to Dre's influence it was same old, same old. That quickly changed, however, and while I still haven't made it to prime rib nights, I can vouch for the noticeable uptick in quality and variety. Sandwiches and burgers are all great, as are the housemade mozzarella sticks with San Marzano sauce. Yum! My recent mind blower was the lasagne with the 4" thick garlic bread. Fantastic presentation and amazing bolognese. Perfect! Beers are always great here, I still have had a cocktail, but I expect to be thrilled when that occurs

This place is delicious! Delightful intentional, well crafted, and composed. The entire place tends to the details - parking lot was always too small - but now the mortuary behind them shares there and to make sure that the patrons know each parking spot has a sign! Taco Tuesday has always been elite here - simple home style ground beef tacos on pan fried tortillas, shredded cheddar cheese and iceberg lettuce - and they added an extra tortilla to eat the debris that used to be casualty loss - but not any more! Soup of the day was creamy potato with chicken, asparagus, and celery - it was divine! The menu features house made potato chips as well as lobster, caviar, a monte cristo and as well as lox! Do not sleep on the breakfast! Art - live music - great food and friendly people - this place is a gem. I do miss the baby shrimp cocktail that used to be on the menu though!

Been here many times and the last few times, Jackson has been our server. He is very kind, attentive, and always makes sure we have what we need no matter how many people are in our party. Came here in July and ordered the Figgy Piggy, which comes with a side and salad and fresh potato chips. You can add on the onion dip for an extra $4 and it really goes with the chips. The salad that comes with the Figgy Piggy is good, but I always take off the canned pears because I feel it ruins the salad. Throw on some fresh green apple or fresh pear instead! Came back last month and got one of my favorites: the Ortega burger. This is always so good and perfectly cooked, although it now comes with chopped chilis instead of a full chile, which is a bit of a bummer. I'm from New Mexico so my chile matters to me!! Another downside is there are no happy hour specials or specials on well drinks. I always get vodka sodas and they are $7 with tax, so that always affects how many drinks I will purchase. I do enjoy the low-lighting inside and many seating areas available.

Food is absolutely amazing! Best blue cheese and wings in town! The cheeseburger on Burger Thursdays are amazing and start at only $5.The service is great! The prime rib on wednesday and saturday are a must!!!! The vibes are undeniably the best in town! Live intimate music on the regular! karaoke every Thursday night! Special fun events are constantly happening! This place is a definite must try even make it your go to in the inland empire!

You would think, after living in the area for 45 years, we might have figured out this place was not a fly by night operation. It's been in operation for maybe 20 of those years? Its sturdy, red brick exterior is charming, the dark pub-like interior (tin ceiling tiles, classic red naugahyde booths) is as friendly as a warm hug, the servers and patrons wreaking with jovial-ness...IDK, is that a word???? So what took us so long? I confess, the main thing that always made me turn away was that stupid 6-car-only parking lot in the back. There are intimidating signs everywhere warning about being towed away if you dared to even think about parking in the big, empty Pizza Hut lot (which I'm willing to bet has never been full). Oh curious one, heart be still. Just go find the funeral home next door, because they are the "good neighbors" who share. So Sunday night, it just seemed to be the right thing to do...eat at Art's, after being hell bent to have Korean food. Obviously, that idea had not worked out as planned. That fateful nudge is all it took for us to venture inside this little gem, instead. And since it was a slow Sunday afternoon, we also scored one of those 6 prime parking spots! Auspicious, no? Indeed, the rest of this culinary adventure was delightful. Great server, excellent food, plenty to bring home. Mr B, who usually turns his nose up at pork tenderloin, ordered, you guessed it, the pork tenderloin entree (Just when I think I have him figured out). And he loved it. Beautifully moist and tender from a garlicky marinade, then sliced and topped with an elegant, chunky, fruity sauce (I am guessing golden raisins and brandy were ingredients. Quite unusual and very tasty. It came with some incredible mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Less adventurous, I went with a burger topped with melted cheddar and ortega chile. This had to be a half pound burger. The tender meat patty was actually larger than the brioche bun, and was cooked to a perfectly medium rare over a fire grill. Sensational flavor. Instead of the usual side of fries, I chose onion rings. These turned out to be some of the best onion rings I have ever had. Absolutely no regrets. We also shared a Wedge Salad, a very respectably sized iceberg lettuce wedge, plus spring greens, covered with crunchy bacon bits, cherry tomatoes, and a thick, creamy, house-made, blue cheese dressing. Yummers! The rest of the menu looked very enticing. Wednesdays and Saturdays they do Prime Rib dinners. Their breakfast menu will lure us in to try their Country Fried steak, and maybe even a Monte Cristo. Homemade soups. A few delectable dessert items that include homemade specialty cakes and creme brulee. Note: Posted on a sign at the door...They have no phone. Odd but true. And they do not take reservations. Alas, I could have been enjoying this winning package a long time ago. Now I know better.

Came on a Tuesday night for the first time on my birthday after seeing a TikTok of this bar & I loved it! The whole vibe is perfect, dim lighting, music playing & they have the games if any playing on the TVs. Self seating as well as bar seating & patio seating. The food with so good! Got the bbq onion ring burger which was soooooo yummy! Everything we order was perfect! :) You can sign up for their newsletter and they will email you letting you of any events or special nights through out the week. Definitely a 10/10

Came here because a friend told me she had a pastrami sandwich that was good. I'm a pastrami snob and this place did not disappoint. Only thing that bothered me was that they give you pickle spears instead of pickle chips inside the sandwich. That's the only thing that bugged me. Other than that 9/10 I will come back and try their prime rib next.

Just walked in here for the first time tonight and this place is pretty damn cool. I was instantly reminded of Goodfellas the movie because it has that old school mafia vibe to it. Great ambience. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had the most unpleasant experience here. I'm a local and this has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I came with a few friends about a day ago and I was surprised at how awful the bartenders attitude was. We waited like 30 minutes waiting for her to attend us I even looked at her multiple times and she did not acknowledge us at all. I decided to wait and about 15 minutes later I just hear her using profanity. She proceeds to attend the people who came after us which was severely disrespectful to us. It was not like this before. When she finally came over she approached us with this disinterested look as if she hated her own job. I overheard her name was Bonnie . After we left I had regretted bringing my friends here at all. Next time I will be wise not to come back here ever again. This location used to be my favorite as it gives off a vintage feeling however I'm not so sure about that now. If you're looking to be treated with common courtesy I suggest you go to a different restaurant in the downtown area. I've been around long enough to know the difference between a busy bar and a bartender who does not care. read more

This place is a must visit when visiting downtown Riverside!! For years we would stay at Mission In. For my birthday and then walk over to Arts Bars a Grill for breakfast. When I heard a new owner I was a little nervous because that is not always good. But this owner has managed to keep the tradition and made improvements I did not even know were needed. Example the bloody Mary's are tall and better than ever. The biscuits and gravy, yum, homemade gravy and fluffy biscuits. Friendly service, (Mike), and lots of T.V.'s, (new) great tunes!! We will visit more than our yearly Mission Inn Visit. Good job guys!! read more

Five Star Dive Bar! Dre purchased Arts from Paula and has really brightened up the place. Been coming here since early 80's. The food and drink selection is so much better than it has been in the past 10 years. my Top favorites currently are the Steak and Lobster, Beet Salad with Salmon option! or Rack of Lamb with Risotto. YUM note. Parking is available in the mortuary parking lot next door so you dint risk getting towed at Pizza Hut. read more

This whole in the wall place is so nice. I went just for a beer with my friend and it's was cool. It gave that dive bar feel and the chairs are cool too. They have IPA all domestic and import beer. Idk bout the food but it was cool for the early 90s appeal to the place. It's like a time capsule. The service was good and very quick. Will be coming back to check out the rest of the IPA they have. read more

We planned my father's 90th birthday celebration @ this fantastic quaint establishment. Atmosphere of a speak easy. They prepared a wonderful brunch menu for each guest. The owner helped with printing and adding photos to the menus. The food was served quickly and our guests were delighted at the options. Debbie was our server and kept everyone's drinks filled. What a gem she is. All smiles and on her toes boy does she know her game. Can't say enough good things about her. My parents frequently visit for taco Tuesday and have for years. It reminds me of the TV show Cheers where everyone knows your name. If you get a chance to stop by you won't be disappointed. ps they also have live entertainment. Came here to see our friend' s band. The band wasn't going to start til 9pm, so got here extremely early to get the front table. Art'sflyer for the music says "no reservsation". At 8:15 we get booted from our table because it's reserved for someone's 60th Bday celebration. I get that Bday's are special, but they need to take the "no reservation" off the flyer, cause that's just misinformation and false advertising. It just leaves a sour feeling in my stomach when stuff like this happens. Puts a damper on my evening. read more

They still haven't done anything about the funky smell. My co-worker likes coming here and drags me along with her, and I sit there tolerating the nasty smell of old carpet or old walls, whatever it is they have to do something about it....but the service is great !! read more

It has been a while since I've been to Arts but I stopped in for the Thursday night music and WOW! The band was STELLAR and the FOOD!!! OMG the food WAS AMAZING! Had the burger (excellent) and a pretzel and WHOLY shhhhhh so damn good! I will be back very soon! That pretzel was the best I've ever ever had hands down ANYWHERE EVER! Don't miss it. read more

The cost is the same either way. But, you're pressured by the knuckleheads in the lot to let them valet which we gave into. You can't get your car when you come out. You have to jockey among other customers to get the attendant to take your claim ticket first. Despite multiple attendants it just takes forever even though you can "see" your car right there while you are standing. The problem is acerbated when you watch them run to get a car, dig the car out, bring the car up thru the quagmire to the customer standing in front of you only to have that customer tell the attendant it is not her car. Instead of focusing on finding a reasonable solution, Brian chose to degrade me publicly. I also felt that I was treated differently because I am a Black man. Been coming here for years. It's a great place to relax, have a drink, and a wonderful tasting meal. At Christmas time I give Art's FIVE STARS ***** because there is no better place to visit during the holidays. The ambiance is perfect. Dimly lit, with a beautiful bar - it has two sides, I like the one way in the back best but both are great. The staff has been there forever, I've been coming for my birthdays for the last 15 years off and on and they treat you as if you are part of the family. If they are having a bad day they don't hide it and if they are in a good mood they don't hide it but don't take that personal - it's part of the genuine and wonderful atmosphere. Regardless of the servers energy (once you go very often, you will learn to treasure these servers for them being themselves) - you know the food will always be spectacular. If you come once and think the staff seems cold, don't be fooled - they are not, they are at home and are truly themselves. Repeated visits you will know it's not about anything but being real. That is what is so great about Arts. You feel when you are there you are part of the whole equation. I would not change a thing about this place. I've gone in and had a server not to happy to be there, had a few beers and a delicious steak dinner and ordered double baked potato and was full and happy - then you realize how great the servers are. They may not be happy from time to time but their service remains unaffected. You go the next time and they are beaming with the most welcoming smile. I say this so you know this is a neighborhood place. There is no pretense, no fake smiles. It's about feeling like home. "Cheers" is a good comparison because it's about "being there." If Art's reads this, they should not tell anyone to be more cheerful or dour. DON'T CHANGE A THING - your place is perfect. Keep all your servers for another 15 years, they are perfect. I love them because they are REAL. The most spectacular time is Christmas time - to go eat a steak dinner which will delight - they never rush you out, actually to me it's the happiest time. Then after you eat take a walk from Arts wonderfully lit patio with Christmas decorations that make it feel so perfect and then stroll around downtown and go to The Mission Inn and see the Festival of Lights. There is nothing like this in the world. The combination is perfect. Art's Bar and Grill is a place you go when you want to feel at home. When you want a delicious meal served to you by someone that is real and makes you feel they are themselves. No fake energy - these servers have been there for years. Your in their home and they make it feel like home. Some days mom is happy, some days not so happy but the food mom serves is always excellent and you know mom cares regardless. To me that is priceless and what makes Art's perfect in my opinion. Just go and eat and experience. If it's your first time, just expect very efficient service regardless of mood of server, great food, great drinks. Then come back a few more times and you'll understand........Art's Bar and Grill is the place, and you will come back again and again year in and year out. If they don't know your name they'll know your face and you will LOVE IT!! Art's Bar and Grill is not just a restaurant - it's an experience. I have heard so much about Arts Bar & Grill, how good they are..... Well unfortunately I did not get to try the food..... The Ice Tea was okay I guess from the few sips I actually got..... we had just placed our order when another person came in and sat at the bar, he asked for a simple cup of coffee, not food, not alcohol, or anything else, just quietly asked for coffee, the waitress asked if they had any money to pay for the coffee, someone in our group heard him say no, so the waitress told him to leave so the guy got up to leave, at that time my friend told him to hold on and have a seat.... my friend went to the waitress and told her that he will pay for the coffee for this gentleman along with something to eat...... Now I dint know where this person sleeps, where they get their meals, or if they have any where to go... but the least we could do was do something nice...... upon our offer the waitress informed us that no he could not stay and that we could not buy him anything....... we asked for the coffee and food to go..... again we were refused to be able to buy this gentleman anything from that establishment....... they would not serve him even if the food and coffee was paid for..... The gentleman was not loud, or being any nuisance at all........ He was actually very quiet and polite....... I bet if a dog came in and was hungry and thirsty they would treat the dog better than this human being....... we were really upset and told the waitress how we just could not understand why we could not pay for his food and coffee even to go.... we were then informed that Arts Bar & Grill does not encourage the homeless..... DOES NOT ENCOURAGE THE HOMELESS???? Like him or anyone else wants to be homeless.... They make it souled like this was a simple choice he made, no I dint want to live in a house, I want to be homeless....... Where is Kindness to all man kind? Humanity? A helping hand?...... Highly Recommended! Art's Bar & Grill was/is one of our top 5 favorite "locals" restaurants in "dumpy ole Riverside" before we relocated to sophisticated, restauant-rich Houston, TX over 5 years ago. Actually, we really wish we could find an Art's Bar & Grill here in Houston, too; everything here is disappointingly crawfish-oriented, lobster plates and shrimp plates are a bit more difficult to find. We especially enjoyed Art's lobster night, Taco Tuesday, the fried shrimp plate, the chicken stuffed avocado salad, and the chili-size hamburgers - but everything is good.
