This place was delicious and unique. I love how they took a spin on the egg in a basket, and I was really happy with ordering it and the diablo and splitting it with my sister. We also got a half order of the Caribbean French Toast to try and it was delicious!! I would love to come here again! We're so happy we came here on our trip! read more

This was a great little find! The menu is pretty small, but it's really good. The restaurant is tiny, so I'm glad we beat the brunch crowd. Don't expect substitutions, because their kitchen is so small and they are usually really busy. I didn't want to change anything about my order anyway, so I loved it! read more

Was in Austin for a wedding and wanted a close Austin style casual breakfast. Arturo's was awesome. Definitely a Texas twist on Benedicts, Texas French Toast and scrambles. Got the Pollo Marco Benedict and it was insane. Just the right amount of spice. Casual atmosphere, great food and not expensive. read more

Their take on Benedict is unreal. Heavenly hardly describes the dish we sampled in the too cool basement for Sunday brunch. Wow! What a great little cafe! It's a very cozy space, makes you feel your in a little cafe in SF. It has a great vibe and the wait staff are very attentive. We came here for brunch and it was amazing. The portions are big and very shareable with your partner! I highly recommend this place for brunch! I'll definitely be back. Sorry I didn't get any pictures, but definitely will on my next visit. FYI it can get busy during brunch. So get there early! read more

I give this underground a five star rating. Mainly because the food is so good. It's kind of hidden but is in the downtown Austin. There is paid parking lot area across for you to park at. It's is small but the food is great. I stayed in Austin for about a week so I woke up early and the Hampton Inn is next door so I went to get me some breakfast. I ordered the Migas and they were the best Migas I ever had in the Austin area. They have lots of different breakfast options like eggs Benedict and some pretty amazing Caribbean french toast which my sister ordered. She fell in love. Now it was pretty packed in the morning so the service was okay but she wasn't rude or anything just busy. The day we left we stopped for lunch. There was no wait, it looked like it was packed but most of the people were taking food to-go. We sat and ate. My sister again is vegetarian so she ordered the veggie quesadilla. My mom ordered a salad. My son ordered a ham and cheese sandwich. I ordered the gourmet grilled cheese. Everything was cooked perfectly, the food again was just made right. I can't stress enough that you don't have to have a fancy menu or fancy ingredients you just have to be able to cook with what you have and cook it well. You can tell that they take the time to cook the food right and the menu is pretty creative as well. I will definitely go again and tell my friends about it. read more

I've been here for lunch and breakfast and one can't have breakfast for lunch or lunch for breakfast-makes no sense to me as they only operate for 7 hours a day. But, they do have good food and good options for either mealtime. I was impressed with their migas taco as well as their chorizo and egg taco. Both came with House made salsa. The first time I came I had quesadilla and the other time I had a salad. Again, great food but I could have used a smiling face to compliment the awesome day outside. I asked if they had raw sugar as the canister was empty, and the response felt as if I insulted the young man. Today, Arturo's food trumps stale service. read more

Odd little snack shack about two blocks over and three blocks up from the state house. Not much to look as you come in but way fun once you get inside. Handwritten menu boards behind the register list out the food offerings (cashier dude said no paper menus (so just take a picture on your phone)). Sister had a complaint-free turkey+swiss sandwich, my lovely bride went with a chipotle quesadilla and I had one southwestern; sammich came with pickles and substantial pile of chips, ques's get black beans and rice. Crispy quartered tortillas chock full of chickens and fixings and sauce! Oh my! Chopped japs on the side with an Especial round out lunch nicely. Seating for eating is down stairs in an above average below grade dining room. Unusually warm and cozy for a basement, must be the eclectic decor in a soothing pallette: giant American SouthWest mural street side and framed pictures on the wall above what looks like a serving board (luncheon counter?) One of my favorite brunch spots in Austin! I personally recommend either the migas scramble or the pesto grilled cheese if you're vegetarian. Everything here is delicious, so it's hard to find something bad. Staff is always very attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a casual brunch. If you're not super hungry, at least try the jalapeno cheese bread because it's incredible! Parking can be a pain to find downtown, and you may have to wait a bit outside for a table. But overall, it's a fantastic breakfast/brunch spot. read more

This place was horrible the water was warm and they are so unaccommodating they made 11 of us sit at one tiny table and when we asked if we could get another table if they said no even though the place was empty. This place was amazing, I was a bit skeptical at first but I was surprised by how good all the food was. It was a group of 6 of us and we all tried different plates and were not disappointed. We ordered the caribbean french toast, the alamo, el diablo, ultimo and tocino; all extremely flavorful and amazing! The service was awesome as well and it was pretty packed. We also ordered mango, grapefruit, and pineapple mimosas. They recommended the mango but it lacked the mango flavor, the pineapple and grapefruit were much better. We will definitely come back next time we are in town. read more

The banana and pecan French Toast was soo delicious I wish I could have ate three. I also got the breakfast tacos which were underwhelming but still satisfying. It is true that one is a snack and two is a meal. I wasn't able to eat both of mine in one sitting and I ended up eating the second one later, as a snack, and it held me over for quite some time. Will most definitely go back when I visit Austin again! read more

Headed out here for brunch randomly and was quite surprised by the quality of food. I had the Texas eggs in a basket, which came with a side of home fries. The home fries were not the best, which is why they miss one star in my books:) The garlic jalapeño bread with an egg in between was definitely a good spin off from the normal brunch food. The cheese tastes fresh and was just the right amount for me; I don't prefer an overload of cheese like some people would. I also had a mocha latte, which was as good as any other coffee place. Surprisingly there was no wait on a Saturday at noon, so can't really say if that could be an issue since it is kinda small. The last time we came, food and service was great! We had a small issue with the seating and lack of high chairs, but to my surprise, they fixed that!! We came in this morning and they had two!! Doesn't sound like a lot, but for being a small establishment, it's perfect!! After we were sat, the gentleman who sat us offered us a kids menu, but stated it may not work (our nugget is only 9 months), but that he could bring us a cut up banana... and they did, right away!! The food, was amazing yet again!! So much flavor, right amount of spice, amazing!! This is def my favorite brunch spot! A bit pricey, but worth every penny for the quality and service!! read more

Busy place! It has to be good if it's survived for 15 years, right? 1. The Coffe. The iced American is one of the best I've ever had (I know my coffee, former Barista here). The espresso is smooth, low acidity, with a natural hint of hazelnut. My wife got the chai and highly recommends that as well! 2. Breakfast is really good!!! This is the best I've ever had for Tex-Mex breakfast food. My wife got the Migas plate, I got the Rancheros. Their use of fresh ingredients is obvious, and much appreciated. Homemade salsa? It tastes like it. To me, fresh cilantro is the make-or-break for good Tex-Mex and they're not afraid of it here! Highly recommend! read more

Best Breakfast Tacos in Austin Texas. I order the Peace taco and the Love taco. They are a duo, and they do not conform to the cliche taco market. Think OutKast. Think SpottieOttieDopaliscious tacos. They also have Pecan Coffee. Only in Texas can you get this fresh coffee straight from a bountiful Tejas Pecan tree. Try this place. So many good tacos. It's got its own unique style. If you want authentic Mexican or Mexican inspired look elsewhere. If you want amazing tacos that never disappoint year after year. Arturo's will get you right for the oskie woskie. I'm a 100% disabled afghan vet holding both retired police and retired military credentials. I was denied service and told to stay outside with my service dog. I informed the staff member (balding middle-aged white male approx 5 foot 10, 170lbs) that he was my service dog. The verbatim response I got was, "It doesn't matter. He can't go downstairs." I stated,"Then I'm not giving you any money." To which he stated back,"that's fine."So we left. I immediately contacted the Department of Justice and attorneys. Apparently this restaurant replied back online to my wife and said they have video/audio proof This didn't happen; I truly can't wait to see that video where it will show the staff member literally pointed to my service animal and said "it doesn't matter, he's can't go downstairs." I'm so tired of being treated like a second-class serf in this country because I got disabled on a deployment. Don't support this discriminatory business. To this discriminatory business - Tango will be with me in the courtroom, too, as I'm absolutely pressing this issue; I will also do everything in my power to make sure you get the $75,000 fine for the ADA violation. read more

The food was really good and the coffee too. It was a bit more bitter than I'm used too but it was really well made. The staff was very kind and the service was amazing! The restaurant itself is very cozy and rustic. Definitely had a great time here. Remember what i said about the wait? You'll need that time to work your appetite a bit longer. I was hungry when we got there and standing in line REALLY built up my hunger even more, moreso that my stomach was speaking embarrassingly loud. I hate to write this review because it is already getting too crowded in my favorite cafe in Austin. Their coffee is the best I've had and the sandwiches and quesadillas are the bomb. My favorite is the Sesame Ginger Chicken recipes with the Chipotle Chicken a close second. The brunch is a completely other world on the weekends with table service, mimosas and the best damn benedicts this side of the Mississippi. I've been going to Arturo's for a few months now (I recently moved into downtown Austin) and I have not once regretted it! Amazing breakfast tacos -- duh everyone here is raving about them - and very laid-back vibe and atmosphere. Keep your eye out for it... you'll miss it if you blink!!! (17th b/t Guadalupe & Lavaca).
