Artusi was a near perfect dining experience offering a modern and lively approach to Italian food. We certainly came for the pasta, but was quite impressed but nearly everything else: the short rib is an absolute must, the pork medallions, the clams, the tiramisu - just splendid. Although we ordered a bottle of wine, I enjoyed trusting the bartender with whatever cocktail they served us between plates (they knew exactly what they were doing and prepared our palette in a fun boozy way). Our server was my only turn off. We asked to order whatever was best, and they encouraged us to order the gnocchi without the porchetta as they were vegan (thank goodness we didn't listen). We loved the tasting menu which is only $35 for a 2 course meal- a pasta and entree! Took the entire family, kids included, to Seattle for a week. Searched around for a high-end but not too expensive Italian restaurant and landed on Artusi. Lucky for us, when we wandered in without a reservation, they had availability and a table for four. We sat by the window and watched people wander by and look jealously in the window. we shared a variety of great dishes - fried hazelnuts, Barada, fish, pasta. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the meatballs, which come with a side of extremely buttery garlic toast. we also shared a bottle of the house red, a Pinot Noir that paired perfectly with our food. You can't have a limited menu of ONLY 5 pasta options and not specialize in them. Typically when a restaurants have few items, it's because that's what they're good at. Appetizer was the only thing that was good. The canneloni was too salty and pasta Della sera was too watery for it to be a carbonara wannabe. Knowing we were a large party with automatic gratuity, the service was slow during a slow running business as well. Asking for a new napkin was a chore for one gal. Artusi has a pasta night deal on Sunday's and Monday's where they offer 2 pastas and a bottle of wine for $45, which initially sounded like a great deal and one I was very excited to try. We ordered the cavatelli and agnolotti but unfortunately our meals were quite disappointing and underwhelming. They both tasted pretty average and the portion sizes felt more like appetizers. Since we did the pasta night deal, the total bill wasn't too bad, but I definitely wouldn't want to pay full price a pasta that size. This is the sister restaurant of Spinasse and the menu here rotates more. We came on a weekday night and it was relatively empty. The service was very attentive and everything we ordered was amazing! We ordered the kohlrabi salad to start and it was really refreshing and unique. We also ordered the meatballs which were really flavorful and juicy! For the main course we ordered the short rib pasta and the salmon ravioli. The portions were a bit small but the they were cooked well and had good texture. If you're looking to try some really good pasta without having to get a reservation at Spinasse, I'd definitely come here! This is the one of the best Italian food I've had in Seattle so far! Came here for a double date night with another couple we know and we LOVED it. I do see that some of the comments say that they leave here hungry still but true real Italian food in Italy, they do not serve you giant "Olive Garden" sized portions. The bread was delicious with a nice crust (as a baker myself I am very observant of the bread). My husband got the tagliatelle and he loved it, I got the pork cheek entree and man oh man it was delicious. Our friends are vegetarian and they loved the options for themselves and had no complaints about their ravioli. Service was friendly and our server recommended a great wine for our dinner. My absolute favorite Italian spot in Seattle. It's what I recommend to others and always love to take friends to. It's significantly more affordable than its sister, and you will not leave hungry. I've tried a lot of items and the menu adjusts with seasons and specials. I love the tagliatelle and bolognese if it's available. They also do a killer steak. A great time to come is for Monday happy hour where you can get two pastas and a bottle of wine for a reduced price (I think it's still $40). Service is always pleasant and I've had some excellent wine recs as well. It is a no reservations spot so you may need to wait, but it's worth it. Grab a drink nearby while you wait. Food - As a vegetarian, I ordered the bread, burrata, and risotto. All three were great, but the bread and burrata really stood out. The cocktails were not bad, but also not amazing. Artusi is a local treasure and I'm glad it's still going strong after a decade+ of service. The reboot to the space isn't my favorite change (the previous vibe was way better) but it clearly opened up more room to seat the number of patrons who always pack this place up. Artusi offers a couple of really great specials to enjoy the experience and not pay as much in doing so. Happy hour happens every day (I think?) starting at 5 and you can get a really great meal this way in comparison to comparable places to eat; the pasta of the day is always delicious and fun to try, the cocktails are always fun and inventive, and you can never go wrong with their classic meatballs. Also they have their special with two pastas and bottle of wine. Super great deal. If you order this plus another small dish you and your date will be good to go. (Speaking of which - this has to be one of the top five "first date" places you can go in the city!) I pass by Artusi and it's consistently filled, so I was beyond excited that our party of 4 was able to snag a table on a Sunday night with no wait. Food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. Tips: - the smaller sized dishes are a blessing in disguise, because it means you can order apps and an entree, and still have room for dessert or cocktails afterwards. Understand this won't be everyone's cup of tea, so don't expect to be stuffed. - the rustic-romantic vibe is perfect for casual dates or a catch-up with friends. - to our surprise, the bottle of pinot noir was on the house! I'm not sure how long this special is going on but it was so sweet and generous! Onto the food: POTATO FRITTERS (5/5) Stuffed with prosciutto cotto & smoked mozzarella with calabrian chili marinara. Outside crust was evenly crisped and inside was brimming with creamy mashed potato and prosciutto. We all loved this and there were no leftovers in sight. BURRATA (5/5) Served with lemon, toasted pistachio & endive. The burrata was creamy and light, whereas the nutty roasted pistachio was the perfect complement to the dairy. MALTAGLIATI (5/5) Rabbit ragu, bianca, & thyme. Don't let the rabbit fool you - think elevated chicken soup for a flavor profile. The rabbit was so flavorful and soft, I just wished there was more of it! TONNARELLI (5/5) Beef short rib ragu & rosemary. For having shreds, and not chunks, of short rib, who would've thought it could still pack so much rich flavor. Each bite was densely covered in sauce and the pasta was thin and delightful. I think I still prefer the ragu noodles over tonnarelli, so maybe they'll bring it back a different noodle variety in the future. Artusi is a lovely cocktail bar, charmingly decorated, with a nice view of 14th Avenue through its large, sweeping windows. I went there with my family for a special occasion after seeing some stellar reviews of the food and was curious to try out the place for myself. We started with drinks, which were definitely a standout, as the cocktail menu features a variety of specialty and seasonal cocktails which were well-dressed, presented, dynamic, and refreshing. Then came the food which was also fantastic. The pasta is all made in-house and you can definitely taste the freshness. My dish, the Pasta Della Sera, was a bit bland, but my family's dishes were quite good, and I would definitely recommend trying the meatballs. Although others have noted the portion sizes, they did not bother our group as the food was very hearty. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but I found our server throughout the experience to be cold and frazzled by questions regarding the menu's unconventional ingredients, a charming aspect of the place that interested our group. Despite their professed confidence in their knowledge of the menu, our server appeared to have quite a bit of difficulty articulating the flavor profiles of the various drinks and food items and became noticeably irritable when asked for reccomendations. It was below standard for a place with otherwise such lovely atmosphere and food. With that being said, every other employee we encountered at Artusi was warm and friendly so perhaps we got unlucky with that particular server. I've been going here every month for the better part of 2 years now! My boyfriend and I love coming here - the staff, food, and seasonal dishes are incredible. A common remark is the portion sizes being small, and it's definitely true but make sure to take your time with each dish. They're excellently crafted and the pasta is made in-house. We try to make it through each of their seasonal menus as they come out. We haven't had a bad experience yet! The cocktails are also gorgeous, just not in my standard flavor profile so I typically opt for their house wine. The atmosphere is one of my favorites: quirky yet classy, with an art deco style which makes it fun, relaxed, yet elevated. Note: there's a decent parking garage to the left of Artusi's entrance in case you can't find cheaper street parking. By 630, entire restaurant (table/bar) was packed and wait time can vary between 30-45min+. Food: Tried the special pasta with beef cheeks and this was absolutelyyyyy yummmms. Felt like the pasta melted in my mouth. Also, did try the Tonnarelli but wasn't a big fan of the noodles and texture. In the past, have tried the fried bread (so good!!!) and meatballs and these two remain consistently good. Overall, food here is yum and worth the visit. Drinks: If you're not hungry but you're thirsty instead, check out the cocktails here! I tried a few drinks out and all were so so yummy. Appetizers were solid, but when it came to main courses, we were disappointed with the taste and size. To start we had the house bread and Burrata. Both were very good and started the meal off well. However, when our mains came, we were a bit disappointed. The Tagliatelle with Bolognese didn't have much flavor and was quite a small portion. Meanwhile, the Braised Pork Cheek was too salty, with not enough distinct flavor or spices in it. The food wasn't bad, it just didn't live up to the price or reputation unfortunately. Smallest dish i have ever seen..... if you want to feel decently full this is not going to satisfy your need... i meant there were some deals going on and 2 pasta and a bottle of wine were $45 bucks, but the portion is so tiny you would need to get other stuff on top of it. The pasta was obviously house made, attention to detail and the care of food was unmatched. Then...the desserts! Let's talk about the desserts!!!!! Tiramisu, always a classic go to but this one was RUM forward in the best way possible. The sorbet (black tea orange or something like that), interesting and complex! To say Artusi is my favorite place for everything is an understatement; I have been regularly going to Artusi since mid-2017, and I still look forward to the next time I get to be there. They have made huge changes to the indoor dining space to accommodate Covid, which include large distance between tables, shield on the bar to separate the bar tenders and customers, contact tracing, hand sanitizer on every table, and enforcing mask wearing when not eating/drinking. They also have some special menu items, and the Sunday-Monday pasta-and-wine deal is now available more often! They're also doing takeout, which include special cocktails bottled to go, and during the warmer months they had frozen versions (think freeze-pop but better). Overall, I appreciate all the work the team at Artusi has put into making sure customers AND staff can stay safe and healthy, and the creativity that has gone into enabling customers to recreate some of that special Artusi-magic at home! read more

The overall ambiance, presentation of food, decor, and attention from the staff made the dining experience a memorable one. Brunch is from 10 AM - 12 PM and served on Saturdays & Sundays. Initially the host sat us down at a table near the door, but after I requested if we could sit at an open table further back, he agreed with a response of "sure! Let's please you."
