    Beef Nihari

Came for their Sunday brunch $20/ person plus tax and $3 service charge (Service charge is the servers cleaning, refilling food and bringing out fresh naan and puri through out the meal). So for 2 people our total was about $49 So if you haven't had Pakistani breakfast it's greasy, spicy and heavy- just incase you decide to come in based on this review lol. Ashar's is known for their Nihari so if you come here don't leave with out trying it. Brunch consisted of halwa puri, biryani, egg parata, Keema, nihari, paya and chicken biryani. I like to take the sauce from paya and put a little in my nihari so Nihari always good. I am not sure how to review but I know what I was in the mood for and I got it. Servers were great all in all a good experience. I think I have satisfied this craving for an extended period of time.

Overall liked this place. Their Maash daal was my favorite. Their garlic naan was delicious too. Their also samosa had great flavor. I wasn't a huge fan of their beef one, but it wasn't bad. Both were pretty small. Their chicken tikka masala was creamy and sweeter than I am used to, but decent flavor. I did not like their beef nihari, but not necessarily because i thought it tasted bad. I could tell the beef was tender. I just personally didn't like whatever minty herb was in the gravy. I think this place was a great option for the lunch. Our server Romaisa was helpful and responsive whenever we needed anything.

Ashar's Kitchen is a major disappointment. I ordered 1 Chicken Biryani, 1 Beef Nihari, and 2 Garlic Naan and it was ridiculously expensive. Anywhere else it would have been significantly cheaper. The $17 Biryani only had two pieces of chicken, mostly bones. Make matters worse, the $19 Nihari only had one mid-sized piece of beef in the tray - that feeds one person! You can go anywhere else; heck go spend $19 at a Pakistani Buffet down the street and get as much meat as you want. Will never be coming back.

I visited Ashar's on Hwy 6, Sugar Land around 12:15 AM and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered Biryani and Grilled Chicken. When the biryani arrived, there was an immediate unpleasant smell that clearly indicated the meat was not fresh. This was concerning and unacceptable. We then waited almost 25 minutes for the "Grilled Chicken." What we received was not grilled at all--it was deep-fried chicken. We asked for it to be packed to go, but when we opened it at home, the strong oil smell was overwhelming. Overall, the food quality was extremely poor, the order was incorrect, and the experience was thoroughly disappointing. This is not what one expects from a restaurant, especially at these prices. I will not be returning and would advise others to be cautious.

    Nali Nihari

Had to upgrade the rating, as I went with my family this year and was actually seated with a Group of people that I've known for 45 years Unlike what happened in my previous visit. Please read the earlier review for more Deets. We actually arrived around six-ish and Were seated right away and off we went to the Buffet. The nihari AYCE with 7 different flavors and unlimited naans and garnish available at your disposal. It was a feast. The Nali Nihari is far the best and that's the one I go for seconds. The food was delicious, fresh and kept getting Replenished as folks were finishing them at a rapid pace. The AYCE feature is available on Wednesday nights and has been hit with inflation just like any other place. It used to be 8.99 but now I believe it 11.99. Still a damn good deal!

Ashars kitchen was a excellent place for a SOLID pakistani meal. If you love Karachi's food you will not be disappointed. the dhaga kebab was fresh, moist, and fell apart just like back home. Flavors were on par as well! Now for the main course, the Beef Nihari was so nostalgic! The flavors were warm and bold, the texture was amazing, and the butter naan complimented it beautifully. The standard luazmat (toppings) were provided as well. 4/5 because the interior wasn't all that. Definitely more of a fast casual vibe.

I finally lost my (Agas) virginity on Mother's Day, my family and I got there around 10:45 am,…read morewhich was 15 MINUTES before opening time & there was already a line of people waiting to be seated... Service was very friendly and accommodating as well. The food definitely lives up to the hype. I demolished the Lamb Chops (5/5) & Goat Biryani (5/5); I was worried the Lamb Chops would have a gamey taste common to meat like this, but Agas definitely did an amazing job hiding it! I also enjoyed the sauce that came with it. Don't even get me started on their Garlic Naan (5/5). We also ordered the following: - Chicken Handi: (4/5) It's definitely overshadowed by its more popular Butter Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, and Chicken Tikka counterparts. The flavor is milder, and the tomato base is rather prominent; it was an enjoyable dish with subtle spice, but I do wish the meat portions were better, as I felt the curry sauce-to-meat ratio was imbalanced. - Fish Tikka: (3/5) Technically, my dad ordered this, not me... but not a bad dish, but forgettable, and would've been perfectly content with not ordering it in the first place. Agas definitely has other dishes that are more up my alley. While we enjoyed it, I'm not entirely sure it's any different from other Indian/Pakistani spots in Houston, but that's not gonna stop me from making a comeback. I also enjoyed their Mango Lassi, but not sure if my stomach/skin did, given the heavy dairy content... #lactoseintolerance. There's so much to choose from and explore that I look forward to returning!

The space has touch of modern vibes in a warm group friendly / community setting. The layout can be customized for large groups, but yours truly prefers the booths with a window to the outside world. (#1) The bathrooms are clean and the very enthusiastic Afghani (?) staff are a bubbly and fun bunch. One of their standout offerings is their weekly buffet nights and weekend brunch buffets, which regularly draws locals looking for variety and value. The Thursday evening service is street food inspired with chaats, nihari "tacos" and a mix of Indo-Chinese foods such as fried rice (#2) and spring rolls. Delicious Pakistani bbq! Def recommend a visit! I had the…read morerumali roti with chicken boti. Was so flavorful and they definitely aren't shy with the spice. It was the real deal. The roti was soft and perfect. The chicken was tender and so flavorful. There were no parts missing to the chicken (what I mean is, the other similar restaurant in SL def gives less chicken...random parts of chicken breast missing...or the metal rod that the meat is cooked with happens to be so big that there's a visible gap and the meat is actually not a lot...and you're paying for the air...) We also tried the Bihari paratha roll. The chicken was SO tender and complimented the crisp paratha. We were checked on numerous times by the staff. The restaurant is spotless (including the bathrooms). The food came out fresh and didn't take long at all. The plates were even warmed which helped keep the food warm. I would come back everyday. The food is great and I would def recommend supporting this Pakistani gem!

I felt the service was pretty poor. Our table ordered our food and drinks at the register and 20 mins later still no drinks. I asked a waitress and she asked me to repeat our drink order and we would get it. I'm not sure why I needed to repeat if I ordered already and have a table number, I'm sure she could have checked that out? It was also surprising they didn't have ice, but one of the employees was so nice that he went next door to get ice and brought it to our table. Lastly, the chicken tikka leg is the best menu item. As for the beef Bihari, chicken Bihari roll, and the beef seekh kabob, I was really unimpressed. The paratha is not paratha, it's actually puree. The beef seekh kabob is more like a minced meat. I'd love to see this place succeed and feel if they can correct part of the service and also improve on a couple of the menu options, it will be a much better experience.
