Visited Nukkad after a long time and I must say they've leveled up a lot. The atmosphere was amazing so I decided to bring my family for lunch and it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious the service was excellent and the staff were incredibly polite and welcoming. Abdullah at the counter was really helpful guided us on what to order and even surprised us with a complimentary Gulab Jamun. It was absolutely delicious and made our experience even more memorable. Very friendly staff and lovely interior that appears to be newly renovated. I give the food 3.5 stars. The soups (both chicken corn and manchow) lacked flavor and we had to add vinegar, chilis, soy sauce, and pepper. The Hyderabad goat wasn't super tender but not tough either. It was fine but I would try something different next time. The chicken Kohlapuri was interesting. I cannot describe its flavor but not bad. Could this be the next Aga's Restaurant? Requested their recommendations; had the Nukkad Chicken Masala and Pahadi Boti. With 4 naan. And enjoyed an Ice Cream Desi-Style Kulfi during the wait. The wait was definitely a lot longer than expected (told 20-30 mins, felt more like an hour); but they did give me an advance notice that these items would take longer to prepare. In any case, I admired the inner simplicity and cleanliness of the restaurant. Their outside (and possibly location) requires some work. Unfortunately we all do tend to judge a book by its cover once in a while. Some more than others. We were looking for restaurants open at 10pm and found this place. There were a lot of people at around 10pm which was surprising to me and a lot of Togo orders. We loved the butter chicken. it's flavorful and its different unlike the regular butter chicken. Schezwan chicken lollipop was not great and it was very mild on spice. In menu, it says lollipop but it was actually large drumsticks. The wait time was horrible. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food. The server didn't mention a thing and we had to keep asking when the food would arrive. read more

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but it has pretty decent food. We came on a Friday a little before normal lunch and the place was pretty empty. I don't think we saw another group be seated. I think most people get the food Togo. They have a main seating area in front of the counter where you order and then a second "family room" which was a little nicer. We ordered butter chicken, garlic naan, goat byriani, gaajar halwa, and a mango lassi. The butter chicken was tasty and I would highly recommend it. Their garlic naan was pretty good too. I liked the goat byriani. It was packed with flavor but the person I was with thought it was a little different from traditional goat byriani. I think most people are going to be pretty happy with it though. I was a little surprised they didn't serve it with a raita. The food was served with carrots, onions, and a dipping sauce. The mango lassi was pretty standard - which is to say delicious. As far as pricing goes this place was pretty reasonable. The byriani was ~$12. I was unexpectedly in the area and needed lunch, and I am glad I had the opportunity to try this place! Inside is clean and staff very friendly. I placed my order and waited under 10 minutes. I got the dal fry, butter naan and cumin rice. The fragrances are enticing, and food is flavorful and served HOT. Easily enough time for delivery or take out to get home and still piping hot. Nukkad is amazing. The Goat Chops, Nukkad Goat Masala, Hyderabadi Gosht, Pahadi Kabab, Dal Fry and Chapati are the best items. The Goat Biryani is really good too. It takes about an hour to prepare the Goat Chops - but the result is more than worth the wait and a MUST TRY. I haven't tried the Chinese food yet but it looks and smells good. The Chicken Bite and Beef Patisse are the best breakfast items in the mornings. I've tried the tea but was not impressed - you see I'm from Hyderabad, India so pretty much any chai in Houston doesn't make me happy. Customer service is great. One Thursday morning, I called them and didn't get a response, so I drove to Nukkad and saw that a major cleaning was underway, I was told that it would take them the whole day to clean and disinfect on account of which the restaurant was shut down for the day. read more

I got the lunch special beef nihari $8.99 and added a garlic naan. I didn't think there was much flavor to the beef and there was maybe 3-4 actual pieces of meat in it. Those pieces were heavy in fat too. When I was done eating there was still half a bowl of gravy. Definitely need to serve decent portions . I might try something else on the menu if I ever come back. to start off it's a pakistani indian restaurant which serves Chinese food. that tells you a lot. the only thing good is the chicken lollipop & I think I got lucky.(1 & 1/2 stars) Bollywood movie that was playing kinda kept me entertained and distracted(1/2 star). the guy saw us in his camera outside the door for like 45+ seconds(I'm being nice) before unlocking the door from the front counter. He literally was just listening to my friend(in English) until I hit him with some Urdu like what man??? I asked him if the mango shake/lassi (I'm not sure what he calls it) was made from pulp & he told me the mango shake was made from real mangoes, but you can clearly taste that it's made from mango pulp. the biryani has way too much garam masala and tasted like heartburn, the goatportion was good. the manchurian we got off his recommendation, he said it was the best one and spicy but it came out and I added lemon and mirchi but it was still less than mediocre the chicken tasted like it had been used for the soup before it. bottom line is that I wouldn't go back and there's clearly a reason he hasn't claimed the business. i was impressed with how clean the floors and tables were. Great place for Bombay style Chinese and Indian food. It's different from Pakistani flavors (yes there is a huge difference) the butter chicken was out of the world. It's less heavy cream or sauce more flavored and very light. The fried rice and soup are very good and light unlike your typical Chinese restaurants.
