Do not order from here using Ubereats!! They do not check the orders before sending them out. We were missing the naan from our order...how are you suppose to eat the food without the naan?! When I called them, their excuse was that they were busy and told me the place another order for the naan. Why would someone place another order and pay another delivery fee?! Came for the Ramadan Iftar Buffet. Incredible spread of food from Nihari to tandoori chicken to Haleem. Most places that serve a lot of dishes sacrifice on quality but this food was obviously freshly prepared and delicious. Honestly, as good as the desi food was, their fried chicken was amongst the best I've ever had...and I eat non zabiha fried chicken all the time. Will definitely be coming back! read more

Did a take out order of beef nihari, & upon opening the lid, there was very bad foul order. Called the restaurant & informed the cashier. She argued that they have the best Nihari. returned to the restaurant & asked for chef to smell & taste the nihari, cashier rudely took the nihari back to kitchen m. I have been going to this restaurant for over a year but NOT any more, it does not taste the same and service is going down, plus it is 1. Very expensive for restaurant of this ambiance and service 2. Small cold servings with too much oil and spices. Dhaga Kababs are too dry now, Nihari & biryani were oily & tasteless. 3. 15% of Gratuity/Tip is enforced on a party of 4 or more, regardless of bad service. They may charge it but should be posted where it is visible to customers. People living in Houston know even great restaurants come and go quickly if not consistent in taste, do not follow fair pricing or business ethics. Would hate to lose this one. read more

I personally will never be coming here again and would advise everyone to save their time. The service was absolutely horrible. They took forever to get us our food we waited for maybe an hour even though we barely ordered anything. The restaurant itself was extremely unsanitary and it made me question if I wanted to eat there. The food was mediocre at best and frankly overpriced for their portions which are way smaller than advertised. They kept forgetting to bring us things included in our order and when we asked them how long a certain item would take the guy did a face palm and said he forgot... Normally I'm not a picky person but I knew I wasn't the only one who wasn't impressed when I heard multiple unhappy customers complaining amongst each other and to the workers. read more

Great place with exceptional food and service. Ashar's is one of a kind and provides a unique restaurant for the Sugarland area. My experience there had been tremendous and which has lead me to go back multiple times. My recent experience is what lead me to post this review, Ashar's is slated to close at 11PM on Monday's but my party was still having food and conversations past 11PM, not once did any employee make us feel like we should be wrapping up but rather they consistently asked if we would like more food or beverages. I was super excited to find out that Ashar's has kabob rolls on their menu! Kabob rolls are the first things I eat anytime I'm in Pakistan( Karachi). I tried both the chicken and beef silver spoon kabob roll and I have to say it truly is the closest thing I have had here in the US to the ones in Pakistan (Karachi)! The times I've eaten there (5-6), the food has been overall pretty good though a few times the meat has been dry/ overcooked. Service is usually a miss. Today I called at the 12:15 pm to place a to go order. The guy on the phone says after place my order "okay sir but it will be 30 minutes...I can't take your until another 30 minutes call back". I have other bad experiences there similar to what others have described - long wait to get an order when the restaurant is not busy, walking in and trying to get someone's attention to take my order, and I really question whether they clean the glassware. Food is good overall (don't get the haleem or the lamb/chicken over rice) but they really need to work on service. read more

Went to eat with the family this past weekend... what a disaster. Super slow service and didn't even bring 2 of the items we ordered. The Haleem had little to no taste or salt. Chicken fingers looked stale and had no taste either. Wanted a bun kabab but they were out. The only saving grace were the Tikkas and dhai puri chaat. But again it took forever to even get these items. When we complained about the slow service they told us it was bc they were packed. But when we walked in no one was there but us. We had ordered butter naan but when we opened the wrap we noticed there was no butter. So they basically charged us for butter naan with no butter. Disappointed but still good.
