I sat at the bar here with my friend and we had excellent service! The bartenders Amara and Best (I hope I spelled their names right) were the sweetest and took such great care of us. My friend and I are both girls so we wanted drinks that tasted like juice and oh my goodness... they made the best drinks ever! One of my all time favorite Dallas restaurants, by far the best Larb Kai (I have tried this dish at multiple restaurants but none compare in the least). Their green curry is so fresh, I get the pork and you dont feel gross after eating the entire dish like other places. They just expanded and I would eat here weekly if I could. First impression of Mint....cozy. It's a tiny restaurant...uncomfortably close, where you'll be rubbing elbows with your neighbor and moving tables to get in and out of your seat. Cool space. All shades of blue decorate the restaurant floor to ceiling. It is definitely a Parkie neighborhood hangout. Their happy hour runs from 5 - 6:30 with $3 beers and special priced apps. We arrived a little before 6:30, but our waitress took so long to greet the table that we missed their happy hour specials. Tom Yum soup started off the meal. A tangy broth of ginger, lemongrass, dashi and lime all balance well for a light start to dinner however, the chicken lacked flavor. The summer rolls (6 pieces) were served with a peanut dressing. The vegetable rolls of lettuce, rice noodles, carrot and mint were delicious with the dressing. For the entree Mrs. H and I split the ginger chicken stir fry based on a few good reviews. This dish was very underwhelming. Chicken, cabbage, carrot, onion were piled high atop a thin ginger jus. If the ginger jus was the flavor of the dish, it was so thin that it washed off the the main ingredients and laid on bottom of the plate. It left the dish lacking any real flavor. Absorbing what ginger jus there was with the jasmine rice made the dish better. Again the chicken had zero flavor. It seems as though raw unseasoned chicken is tossed into the boiling liquid of the soup and the stir fry. It might as well be tofu. If you've ever had their green tea cake then you would know how hard it is to pass it up. It's a great way to end the meal. The service was not the greatest. Their was definitely a language barrier where ordering was a bit difficult. This visit was not as good as the original Mint on Forest Ln. I could try it again if in the neighborhood but it would never be a destination. read more

Haven't been to Mint in a long minute but it hasn't lost it's touch i must say. A good friend of mine had a taste for some Thai Cuisine and we narrowed down our choices to a place with a cozy type setting plus ambiance and ended up at Mint. On this particular evening it was packed and we probably had to wait for up to 15 minutes to get seated but it was well worth the wait. I had their passion fruit Iced Tea and ordered the Crispy Sea Bass with assorted veggies and rice and luckily i didn't have to deal with the speech about no Sea Bass due to the Tsunami in Japan. My Friend ordered the Pad Thai minus the Shrimp, peanuts i think since she had problems eating those two items. When the food came she loved it and almost cleaned her plate which is an honor when eating out with her. My Crispy Sea Bass was lovely along with the Bok Choy and other lovely veggies on my plate and Ginger glaze. I also got an additional bowl of rice and it didn't take long for me to get full to the brim. Food is very affordable, Servers are super friendly and their cocktails are magnificent. Its a great place to go with a date away from all the popular spots and if you get there after 8 you might be able to find free parking a lot easier. read more

I am a huge fan of Thai food which sadly means I'm very picky when it comes to tastes especially since I'm a vegetarian. We were a party of 5 who came on Saturday night and were sat down immediately as it wasn't as busy. We skipped appetizers and went straight to main course as we all were hungry. We ordered pad kee mao, red curry, cashew chicken (minus the chicken as we were vegetarian), and pineapple cashew fried rice. Everything was decent but felt the red curry could've been a little more spicy (it was too sweet) and the fried rice lacked flavor. Pad kee mao and cashew were decent but could've been spicier. The Mint is predictable and reliable. The service is consistently good, as are the food and alcohol. However, my favorite thing about The Mint is dessert. The desserts are always delicious. I was a little disappointed with my lunch. I ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Basil. It's a fairly simple dish but it was a touch too salty and not spicy. What a gem. Perfect atmosphere - chic enough to feel special, but casual enough that you don't feel uncomfortable if you roll up in flip-flops. Everything I've ever had here has been effing phenomenal. I rarely stray from the pad kee mow these days, because it is literally the perfect meal. Passion Martini is the tastiest drink ever. The servers are ultra-nice and your food always appears within minutes of ordering.There is always parking, and rarely a wait. What more could you possibly want? I've been here several times and it's always packed on the weekends (always a good sign). They don't make reservations but you can call a few minutes ahead to put your name on the waiting list. The food is great! I always get their pad Thai with beef and I'm always satisfied with it. I recommend their Tom Kha Coconut soup though; it has a hint of sweetness that I just absolutely love! If you don't feel like getting a big meal, just get the soup. I've had their green tea ice cream cake and it was okay. I thought the cake was a bit dry and the ice cream too stiff. I went back another time and tried a different dessert. I got the mandarin cake...wow, it was so creamy and not too sweet! The whipped cream had more of a marshmallow taste to it which made it really interesting. I love recommending this place when someone asks for a good Thai restaurant. I love this restaurant! I go here on a regular basis, mostly for take-away. I'm not a fan of the close proximity of all of the tables, but they have to make the most for what they have. I always feel like people stop talking and start listening to our conversations... anyways... Love this food! My sister & I placed a pick-up dinner order at The Mint on Friday night. I ordered the vegetable Pad Thai & my sister ordered the Thai Red Curry & Coconut Ice Cream with Sticky Rice. The restaurant is small but quaint & nicely decorated. The service was quick and the staff was also very friendly when we stepped in to pick-up our order. This is definitely one of my husband and I's favorite restaurants. I'm Thai and my husband is Vietnames. I love the concept that they have created here at The Mint. A Thai fusion place with traditional and flavorful Thai dishes and love the spin they put on other dishes. We love the pad kee mow beef and the pineapple cashew fried rice. I love the grilled beef salad (yum nuer in Thai). It is so different from what I've had at other Thai places. The greens are a fresh spring mix (instead of the typical chopped iceberg you normally see). The flank steak is flavorful and grilled just right. The dish feels healthy, clean, and is delicious. If you like soft shelled crab, the appetizer is delicious as well. We also love their Illy coffee. We've tried the mocha latte and iced cappuccino - so good, not too strong, not too sweet, just right. And of course, the green tea ice cream cake, yummy! Green tea is an acquires taste - you either like it or you don't - but this dessert is a must for green tea lovers and ice cream lovers. The environment is chic, yet family friendly, too. read more

I'm a huge Asian Mint fan and was ecstatic to hear that The Mint was close by and under same owners. The hubby and I tried going here for date night one evening and it was packed. We were too hungry to wait so we decided to try again a different time. I couldn't get pad thai out of my mind so a couple nights later I called in a to-go order. 15 mins later, I showed up to yet again another packed restaurant but my food was just coming out of the kitchen.
