On [Date of Purchase], we visited your store and purchased a cake, the cake we purchased did not have the ingredients listed, as is customary and necessary for individuals with food allergies like myself. Despite assuming that the cake was a regular one, it later became evident that the cake contained walnuts and hazelnuts, to which I have a severe allergy. The absence of clear labeling on the cake packaging regarding the presence of nuts resulted in a grave oversight on your part, leading to a severe allergic reaction that required immediate medical attention. The lack of transparency and communication regarding potential allergens in your products not only jeopardizes the health and safety of customers but also violates basic consumer rights. Furthermore, the unhelpful attitude displayed by your staff, including the manager on duty, during our ordeal only exacerbated the situation and left a lasting negative impression. It is unacceptable that such negligence and lack of professionalism are tolerated within your establishment. I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this matter and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. I was in Irvine on business and checked this place out. I had heard their pastries are very good and had been wanting to try it out. As soon as I got in I got a very bad attitude from the lady who manages the store. Very rude, into your face and typical snobbish, lack of care Persian attitude. I am Persian by the way. I told her I was from out of town and wanted to get some pastries to try out that day and a lot of pastries to take out of town. I kindly asked her if she could be a bit patient with me to choose everything and also if she could make sure they are put in as few boxes as possible since I had to bring them on the airplane. She yelled back at me and said "how many pastries you want for today. If you don't want many pastries I am not going to give you a box..." I was so surprised that she was giving me a hard time about a five cent box. After yelling at me for some time and trying to rush me out of their door I asked another woman in their store to help me. She was somewhat better but also gave me such poor service putting all the pastries I bought together. They have this thing about boxes!!!! Not sure why they are so precious to them. Finally, when it was time for paying, the lady who was serving me said I needed to pay X amount of dollars. The store manager (the first lady) yelled at her in front of me and said "CHARGE HER MORE. YOU HAVE NOT CHARGE HER ENOUGH". I was so baffled by her attitude, lack of respect and rudeness. The second lady told her boss that she did indeed charge me the right amount. She said she weighted the pastries twice and accordingly charged me. She said twice the price I told her is right. But the store manager grabbed all the pastries and weighted them again to charge me more!!!!!!!! First time and the last time I ever step inside this store. Really shameful attitude lady. read more

Okay, the first thing I want to say I am NOT a racist, also I know Coronavirus is going on out there somewhere we don't know, but I am not sick and I am who is a healthy Asian and 26 year old lady! BUT this lady who works there she was literary sososososo RUDE and she treated like me and my boyfriend a cockroach seriously. Her face was telling and made me get out of that place. I been there once before so I know price a little high i do not care about price, but problem was she was so RUDE i mean like she made her irritating face literary in front of me and acting like me and my boyfriend durty people. Whenever I talked to her she was covering her mouth and she wear the glove when she touches the credit card ipad. Also, when she was asking for choosing the breads, she was so annoyed by no where!!! I did not do anything and she acts and talks like so annoying!!!! Is it because I am Asian? BY THE POUND. I came to this place on a cultural mission. With all the terrorist crap you hear about on the television I thought I should formulate my own opinion of what people from the middle east is really like. I have a friend who is Persian and she never tried to kill me or anything and I really like her. As a matter of fact she is one of my best friends. So to Little Tehran I went. I walked around and saw this very classy bakery, well it was love at first site ... I love pastries. I walked in and almost jumped for joy when I learned that their pastries are sold by the pound. You pick as much as you want and it is about $10 per pound. If this is how Islam defined heaven, I am definitely converting. The pastries were glorious, it was heavenly. I like the horns with cream inside the most. I can finish three of those in one sitting. Now I am wondering, why the heck did Nourjahan never brought over any pastries. Great management, awesome customer service. The girls that work there the counter girls, they are all so kind, sweet & always have a smile on their face while serving the customers. No matter what you are. A persion, an american, mexicon, indian, asian etc. Great great great CUSTOMER SERVICE & cooks I should say. The people who back these pastries wow are doing a great job. They bake their goods a few times a week, meaning that depending on the day you visit, you might snag a fresher pastry than others. While the quality of the pastries is generally good or average, I found the prices to be exceptionally high, even as a Persian customer. Their new fruit tarts are really bad. The old ones they had like a year or two ago had a thin chocolate coating inside the short bread and they must've changed the recipe and I told the lady who worked there like oh you guys change your recipe and she was trying to convince me they didn't, but I had pictures of what the fruit used to be like and I've lived in Irvine all my life so I knew she was lying, but I would not recommend them anymore not for fruit tart anyway read more

Love love love this place. They have the most friendly customer service. The counter girls are friendly. It doesn't matter to them if you are persion or not. They are friendly with each & every customer who walks in. I love their coffee cake. I'm there every weekend & buy pastries from Assal. The BEST pastries!! In same center as Caspian and Super Irvine, so very easy to stop by after lunch/grocery shopping. I recommend the Napoleon (so flaky and not too rich) and the Tiramisu (so moist and full of flavor). Dropped 2 stars for their horrible customer service. Everyone that works there is rude and rolls their eyes whenever I ask a question or take more than 5 seconds to make a decision. read more

Best pastries I've ever tasted. The cream is so light and fluffy and perfectly sweet not too sugary. Everything I ate was so tasty and not heavy unlike most desserts. very lovely bakery shop and i saw they got a lot of awards. This bakery makes very good desserts and biscuits. Love it! read more

The pastries and desserts here are pretty good. Not the best in OC, but still very good and the prices seem reasonable. The service is sometimes slow, or you have to wait for them to come out but no big deal to me. They seemed pleasant to me despite some of the other reviews I read. read more
