Indoor dining has returned to Atomic Burger after about a year. I came to Atomic Burger after maybe about a 3-5 year drought from the place. For some reason, I remembered them for having high prices when really, that's not the case at all. My slider trio meal, fries, drink + fiancee's burger, fry, and drink only came up to about $22. That's cheaper than other options like Mooyah and Five Guys. As for the food itself, it's pretty good. Is it the best burger I've ever had? No. But it was worth the price. I had the Jamburger, Green Chile burger, and Atomic burger slider trio. All 3 were good with the green chile being my favorite. That jamburger packs a bit of a punch! I did not have any shakes, and am sad to see they don't utilize their high tech shake machine anymore which was suppose to be one of their gimmicks, so I'll have to come back and see how the shakes are because they hype their shakes a lot. So we did get some sticker shock rolling up the speaker to order. I had no idea the burgers/combos here were so pricey but I have to say, after biting into my jamburger (you read that right) and tasting their fresh cut French fries with truffle aioli (!!!!) I was hooked. This could definitely be a once in a while splurge; $28 for two burger combos was a little much. Everything was being made fresh to order which I always appreciate but that did make the drive-thru experience a little slow. The atomic burger slider is delicious. I see why it's their namesake. Why mess with perfection? The bacon jam slider was unpleasant. I didn't like the flavor of it oddly enough (cause bacon is wonderful). I ended up inhaling the bacon jam slider so I could savor the atomic burger slider a bit more. The hand cut fries are wonderful. Salted perfectly. I had a full sized atomic burger and a milkshake on a subsequent visit. Burger tasty as expected. Shake was a bit too sweet for my liking. I was in the area and needed lunch. I had never been to Atomic Burger but had heard from a friend that it was worth a try. I ordered the Beyond Burger substitute and a side of edamame, no drink. My total for those two items was $16! The burger was very average- better than at a McDonalds per say but not worth the $12 I paid for it. It wasn't a huge burger either. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger! This is a really nice fast-food spot for burgers. I'm definitely not a McDonalds or Burger King type of girl, so I am glad this place exists. The caramelized onions add the perfect touch! If you have trouble deciding, you can get a few burgers in slider form. Pro-tip: if you check in on Yelp, you get a free slider! Fries are fresh and crispy. Each order comes with a sauce, and if you want to try other sauces, you pay an additional 50 cents. Options include truffle or sriracha mayo, garlic aioli, and spicy ketchup. My favorite has been the garlic aioli so far -- I use my fries to spread it on my burger too, yum!! If you feel too guilty grabbing burgers, fries, AND a shake, you can always swap out for some healthier options they offer, like edamame and a turkey or vegetarian burger. Explosive Prices and Flavor This is a unique burger place. Prices like an upscale sit down restaurant and food quality to match. I ordered the combo meal with a milk shake and fries. The burger I chose was the Jamburger, named after the special bacon and onion sweet sauce on it. It was delicious. I particularly liked the fries which have the potato skins on them and are fried crispy on outside meaty inside. The milk shakes are famous, as they use liquid nitrogen to freeze them and use high quality ice cream, not fast-food dispensed from a mixer machine. HONESTLY! I've been living here my whole life and I was just driving around the area and I decided to go get a burger from a place I've never tried & it was 9/10!! Burgers were amazing however the fries were cooked a little too long, you can definitely tell they were homemade as well. The green Chile burger is my recommendation if you like spicy things because of the poblano peppers. And the atomic burger is good for a regular burger with the special AB sauce. I loved the Beyond Stack here. Many places don't cook veggie burgers well, but Atomic Burger does an excellent job. I usually get my burger with the edamame, and hubby gets his with the fries. I can truly say that the fries are so freaking good. Every once in a while, we will indulge in those delicious shakes. The cookie and cream is my favorite. Each time we have had excellent customer service especially pre- COVID19. I used to love going in because it was always clean, and the workers are nice. As for fast food places I really like this place but it is quite pricey. My favorite thing to order here is the portabello burger which is nice and juicy and Jen L. said it's not a good idea to try and eat this in your car bc it will get messy. Another item I enjoy here is the chocolate milkshake which has the gimmick of being chilled by the nitrogen tank. It's pretty pricey for a milkshake but it is tasty. The only problem is that they close around 9pm so you gotta get there early. I've eaten inside and it's pretty modern and clean looking with friendly service and clean ladies restrooms. I've also done the drive thru and the service was quick and friendly. If you're looking for a healthy alternative for fast food I definitely recommend the portabello burger! Third times the charm. After watching the construction of this restaurant for months, I was eager to sink my teeth into a real Atomic burger. I read all of the reviews and can understand both the positive and negatives. This is a new concept in burgers and shakes. Not some transplanted New York/L.A. craze. It's born of our local folks and they're embarking on uncharted territory. That said, there are some kinks in service and consistency (that I believe they will work out in time so I won't harp on them) but the burgers are thick, fresh, juicy and cooked just right. I give it a big thumbs up. The owners/managers were very friendly and made sure to ask us how we liked everything. They had signage up addressing some of the concerns from previous reviewers, I think they are very open to the thoughts/concerns of customers and will continue to approve. For now, this makes my list of go to go 'old-fashioned' burgers and shakes. Price-wise...I mean, you pay $7-9 for a combo at Wendy's. So why not $9-12 for a combo (with Shake) at a locally owned joint that uses real actual ground beef! read more

This is my first review in a while and the first draft was longer (just had words backed up into my fingers, I guess), so I edited. Here's the short version. The Order: Hot Dog Kids Meal, Mushroom Swiss Burger, Green Chile Burger, Fries, BBQ sauce, Spicy Ketchup, AB Sauce, Sriracha Mayo, Truffle Mayo, Roasted Garlic Aioli, Fountain Drink, Salted Caramel Milkshake. The Taste: The Hot Dog was legitimately good, which surprised me and made me happy when I ended up eating it because my son decided he didn't want his hot dog. Mushroom Swiss and Green Chile Burgers were BOTH delicious. I've only ever had one mushroom burger that I liked more, and I have to drive 40 miles to get it, so score. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the chile burger. The Green Chiles were mild, but had a robust--not overwhelming--flavor that I actually preferred over the Mushroom Swiss. While the flavors were great, I'm dinging the burgers for execution and presentation--they were greasy and the buns were smashed. I expect a lot more from an $8 burger. The fries were average. Skin-on, which I like, a little crispy, well-salted, but somehow not particularly stand-out. Fries I like better: Red Robin steak fries, Rally's, Wendy's, and Luke's duck-fat fries. Atomic's fries aren't bad, they just aren't particularly good. BBQ sauce is Sweet Baby Ray's so it's reliable if sweet. Spicy Ketchup, Sriracha Mayo, and AB sauce were the favorites at our table. Truffle Mayo and Roasted Garlic Aioli just tasted like weird mayo to the person in our group who actually grew up in Belgium, where mayo is the standard condiment for fries. Coke products in the fountain. Salted Caramel Milkshake was THICK and DELISH; that's going on the list of cravable eats. The Price: $40. Kinda pricey for two burger combos, a kids' meal, and a shake. The Facility: Circa 1950s-inspired industrial design. Not particularly anything, but ok. Tables were ALL dirty. There were three other groups dining in when we sat down. Their tables looked dirty. All the other tables were dirty. I went to the bathroom, got a wet paper towel, got a dry paper towel, and got to work. On the upside, the mens' room was clean, though DIMLY lit. Two high-chairs of differing heights were available to accommodate the rugrats. There's an outdoor dining area for those who wish to imbibe in the exhaust fumes from Vets Blvd. The Service: Good, not great--definitely fast CASUAL. There's a self-serve station available for orders. The soda fountain was clean, but only had lids for the large cups. The Bottom Line: Not my favorite place to get a burger--pricey for a fast casual place where I have to wipe down my own table--but it's ok. It's gonna be a while before I come back for a burger or fries, but I'll probably be back for a milkshake before that. read more

You can taste the freshness of the meat. I'm pretty sure it's 70/30 because the juiciness of the meat when you bite into it is orgasmic. I have been trying out different flavors with the sliders option. Green Chili burger has the roasted poblano, jamburger has the bacon onion jam and the mushroom Swiss burger has sautéed mushroom and onions. I actually enjoyed all three burgers! I probably liked the Jamburger more because of the bacon bits in it! Can't go wrong with bacon. Their fries are hand cut! I ordered a side of chipotle Aoli for my fries, tangy and I love it! There are more sauce options as well! Hubby had the turkey burger! It was just as juicy as my burger. Flavorful and cooked well done. He said it was delicious! The prices are a bit on the high side, in my opinion, but it is decent food. The milkshakes are individually made using liquid nitrogen, and they are great. On the south side of Veterans BLVD, there are several fast food places nearby. There is a small parking lot and a drive thru. If you go in to dine, go to the counter to order. The menu isn't very large, but there are several burger options, including a turkey burger. I have tried several of the burgers. The fries are great, hand cut and fresh. There are multiple options for dipping sauces. After ordering, you pour your own soft drink and choose your seat. You also have to bus your own table after you are done. For the most part, everything is neat, clean and well organized. If you don't feel like a sit down American restaurant or a lower level chain restaurant, come and enjoy! read more

If I could give this place to zero stars I would. The ambience is great but the staff is incompetent and sub standard. The menu consists of burgers, fries, and shakes. There is a huge menu board with pictures. Therefore the menu was foolproof. This was my first and last visit to this establishment. I was guided here after positive Yelp reviews. I even checked in to take advantage of the free slider burger promotion. I tried to enjoy this place, but the staff was horrendous. My order was simple in mind --- mushroom slider (free), regular fry with garlic aioli, and cookies and cream shake. The cashier had difficulty ringing that into the system and providing my final tally so that I could pay the bill. I left my payment method with another person I my party. After using the restroom and returning, my order still had not been placed because the cashier was confused as to how to ring in. She asked if I could wait until a Manager was able to assist. I had already waited nearly 10 minutes. But given that the line was getting longer and none of her colleagues offered any assistance, I agreed. I patiently waited another 5 minutes while the line grew smaller. I then asked about the status of my order, and she said she is still waiting on a manager. After wasting over 15 minutes trying to place an order, this place was a complete bust. I will never return to such a poorly run establishment again. I warn to you avoid them as well. My suggestion for management is that retrain your staff on the register and basic customer service techniques. read more
