From the initial estimate through the final inspection, Attic Star did an amazing and quality job. Ozzy (project manager) provided alternative options and pricing for the work to be done. This included abating asbestos I didn't know was there (old house, old ways of doing things -- asbestos tape). Attic Star replaced 50+ year old duct work, old gross insulation, and made sure current rated insulation was put in. Manuel and his crew were professional, answered my questions, and were very respectful of my property inside and out. Each day they cleaned up completely. They took before and after photos too. When the project was done, Manuel and I went to each air vent and tested them and only needed to make one adjustment for the perfect airflow throughout the house. On top of all the great in-person service, Olga with the Office Team was great too. Consistent contact to ensure I knew the schedule, and each new service (estimate, asbestos abatement, insulation/duct work, inspections, etc.) she had the crew contact me at least 30-minutes before they'd be here. We had Attic Star to replace the air ducts in the garage. They did a great job from start to finish, and communicated promptly and well. I got couple estimates and Kalev ,the project manager, was thorough in his walk through. He pointed out few things that other estimators missed and was creative to plan the ducts placement for future renovation. The ducts were wrapped with asbestos, which they subcontracted to a licensed asbestos removal company to remove the day before duct installation. Kalev handled the coordination which made things easy. Jaime, Manuel and Victor A. came on the day of duct installation, and they were hardworking, professional and easy to work with. They did a great job installing the ducts and addressed all my questions. Clean & sanitize. 2) Remove and Dispose of Existing Ducts. Install Flexible Silver Jacket R6 ducts. 3) Install New R-38(16in) Certainteed Insulation in the Attic. 4) Radiant Barrier Installation. 5) Install a new Attic Door. Only one portion of the Attic had Door. Attic Star & Attic Crew Attic Star gets lots of help from Attic Crew as both businesses belong to the same owner. Customer gets the best of both businesses. Dave Baer starts the estimate Dave made a thorough inspection of the attic for the estimate and gave valuable suggestions. He also agreed to give a senior discount from the estimate. FNU Zabihullah project Manager He goes by the name Zabi. He is the best project manager Attic Star can find from Attic Crew. Actually his crew tried to replace two wire screens at the bottom of the house which was not part of the contract. They removed the screen and Zabi came and told them that it was not part of the deal. But he did cover those two openings, instead of leaving them open. He did it himself. After the job was over he came inside the house and checked every duct opening for air flow. He provided us with 60 Photos of the attic work. We were happy to see the good work Attic Star did. He also promised to come back himself for a follow up visit. Handyman from PACO FENCING The living room Attic did not have a door. Only sheet rock was screwed in at the opening. Attic Star also has the best Handyman. It is difficult to install a good door at such a height near the ceiling. The Handyman PACO came on 9th March evening and took a look. After the appointment window closed claimed to be unable to send a text due to service but literally every service provider has service in my neighborhood, and claimed they knocked on my door but none of my camera's registered anyone approaching my front door, and I was home waiting and clearly did not hear anyone knock. We had a serious problem with "rats as big as cats" in our LG mountain property; the rats infiltrated our crawl and attic space throughout the home and, at night, it was full-on rat gymnastics happening behind the walls and under the house. Getting this issue resolved quickly became a top priority. We requested quotes from a few different companies; Attic Star was not the most, nor the least expensive... obviously knowledgeable and their quote was detailed with explanations re: how they were going to fix the problem. Now the most important question people ask themselves when deciding who to hire for a service related job is: "Will they do what they said they would do?" Obviously rodent control needs to done correctly or the problem won't go away... and when all options are weighed, price included, the only thing you're left with is this question. I can tell you that not only did Attic Star do what they said they would do, but they exceeded expectations. They put concrete in to patch entry holes along the foundation - which was key to doing the job right. Other noticeable acts of competence were when they found a small guy to squeeze in to a tight space to block the rat entry way at its source instead of just blocking it in a more accessible point. The whole team were superstars; clean, professional and competent - from Eden, who came out to our property to inspect and quote the job, to the guy who came 3 weeks later to cleanup any stragglers and inspect the finished work. The inspector said he did not find a single dropping and commented how clean the crawl space looked (if only he saw how it looked before!) These guys are all pros! These days it seems natural to wonder if any company will truly deliver on promises made, especially when there's a sizable amount paid for the contracted service... We moved into our first house and quickly discovered that something was partying in the walls/in the attic every few nights. Attic Star came out, diagnosed our rat problem, reported how ineffective our insulation was, and quoted a price much lower than that of a similar competitor. Their office quickly responded to our phone call and scheduled a service date just a week later. On day of the insulation replacement and rodent exclusion, they laid down plastic sheets to protect our floor and walls, got the job done quick, and were out by 3pm. Just today a tech came out for a follow-up visit and not only reported no issues, but also added additional mesh to make sure the roofline remains secure. One standout part of their service is that, for all 3 visits, they called ahead of time and showed up promptly as discussed, making it easy to accommodate the visits in the midst of work meetings and other activities. We did the rodent proof and installed the attic insulation. Workers are very nice and thorough on their job. They sealed several holes that we barely even noticed before. But there was a rat shown in our living room at two days after their work. At first, I was angry and called them. Later, I have a better understand on the process: Before they did the rodent proof, the rat somehow didn't leave our home. The hungry rat can not get out as usual and it comes inside house for the food. That is why they have a post-inspection. I am not sure if there is any way to ensure all rats are out of house before sealing all holes. But I will give them 5 star to encourage their further improvement. read more

I AM NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. AND BEWARE OF THE DAMAGE AFTER THE WORK! We had them to remove old insulation in the attic and the old air ducts in the crawl space. First, they over promised the project, saying that they can help remove old air duct entrance but later told me that it's out of the scope. Second, they broke our drain pipe and the supporting rails during the work and refused to fix it. What they said was that it's over 1 month of the work. How can we notice the damage when the house was under remodeling and no one lives in the house before the remodel was done? We just realized recently because we just moved in, came down to the crawl space by, and found out the damage. It is damaged by the air duct removal work by Attic Star, not damaged by my contractor. Basically, we cannot use water now because of the damage. I contact them about the damage and they first refused to take the responsibility. Then a manager contacted me to offer a handy man to fix (but have to wait a week), saying that it's a easy fix. However, how can you trust their work if they had broken so many things and the "fair price" they provided when they only saw the picture, not being on the site? So I contacted my contractor and he came and fix it in a day, which is way much reliable then Attic Star. I rather pay my contractor from my own pocket then taking the "fair amount" fee from Attic Star to adjust the review. I also ended up working with other business for installing new insulation and that company did an awesome job (and not damaging the ceiling). Attic Star have replaced and installed attic insulation and replaced air ducts. They did a very thorough job and sealed everything too. I barely have to run an AC now since the attic area over the kitchen was missing the insulation entirely. Now it doesn't heat up or cools down winter time quite as much. I'm also using them for rodent proofing, and they've found and sealed several entry points previously unknown. Also, they send you before and after pics for every mod they make so you can have documentation. They are not on the cheap side, but you get what you pay for, and I had a previous experience with that. read more

I used Yelp to get quotes on rodent removal since we started having some problems in our garage. I used Yelp to get quotes from several companies. Chuck from Attic Star setup an appointment right away to look at the situation. Tomer was sent out for the free inspection. Looking at everything, he provided me with two quotes, one with the full rodent proofing of the house (garage, attic, crawl space) along with the five year warranty on labor and the rodent proofing. The other quote was to remove/replace the old ducting, removal of old insulation/asbestos, and installation of higher R value insulation. He layed out all the information and allowed my family to make a decision. With the evaluation, the rat problem didn't extend into that attic where they could be living (thankfully), although getting their entry points sealed off was definitely on top of the things we wanted done. Based upon their schedule, we booked the full house rodent proofing to be done the next day. Vedda arrived and scoped out all the work that would be required. Starting with the garage, moving to the roofline/seams, then the attic. In the garage we found the most likely entry point, which was a hole created between rooflines right near the middle of the garage. He sealed it all up with galvanized wire mesh and foam. All of the other points he sealed up, taking pictures all along the way for the documentation for the warranty. He was very thorough, taking his time to really close off all the cracks/light entry points. From there he checked/fixed all the entrance issues with the roofing, which were mainly at the seams between roof angles. The crawlspace grates were also addressed, where loose ones were tightened down with concrete screws, making sure that nothing could lift them up to get down into that space. During the install in the garage, a neighbor driving by stopped to see what was going on, and ended up taking a business card. More than likely he too will need this type of service. I was very in impressed with the overall process. They sent me the closeout paperwork and all the pictures Vedda took during the install. I know that my parent's house will probably need this type of work when they do their garage renovation. I will definitely be saving this contact for them, or any future work we may need. read more

They were indeed All Stars prior to the work. Made promises, then explained all would be done to satisfaction. Shoddy work - see photos. I could have done this myself and it would have looked better. Gaps remains and rats came back a week later. Weeks passed and my salesperson never called back. I finally got him and he said "Call the 800 number" another 3 weeks passed and a crew came out to check traps- but no patching or clean up. Their customer service manager said it was my fault for not calling repeatedly. No comment on the photos when I asked her if she thought it was representative of the company's work. read more

Chuck/Alex, thank you. Roughly 18-months ago we decided it was time to replace our old blown-in insulation with nice thick R-38 "Batts." Immediately we noticed our energy consumption reduced, making this a clear upgrade for any future home we own. With that said, Chuck really went above and beyond my expectations for customer service. After initial installation, Chuck followed up and made sure I was satisfied with the results. I asked how long it normally took for the Batts to fluff up properly...rather than giving some answer like "wait a little longer," Chuck recommended his guys review during the follow up visit. There were a few locations where the insulation snagged while fluffing and his guys took care of it. Second instance was when we noticed a critter running around the attic. We called Chuck about a year after initial install and he sent over his guys to check mesh around crawl space and roof vents. A few vents had been damaged, so his guys put new screens on...no charge! ("killer" warranty with Attic Star) Third time we noticed a second critter rummaging around...Called Chuck, and found out our bathroom contractor used a roof vent without mesh!!! What the heck! Perfectly contained with Attic Star then our contractor messes things up. Chuck brought his guys out and found the entry point almost instantly! Attic star did a great job of rodent-proofing and installing new insulation and air ducts. They are one of the few companies that offers a 5-year warranty for rodent-proofing. And they'll come out regularly to check, to make sure rats didn't come back. There was one setback where the workers left stuff outside and it got wet from the sprinklers, but the team quickly brought all new material and it only set us back a couple hours, so it wasn't a big deal. Julio just came for our first check (got all the work done a few weeks ago) and added additional mesh to the outside vents. Company was prompt with inquiries and professional. I'm happy with the replacement of insulation in the attic. The rodent problem still persists, but it's related to the roof issues. However, when the technician placed the rodent trap, they just placed it around the attic opening. As I've read, the traps should be placed where rodents have the most activity. I've crawled into the attic space, and the attic opening is not where the rodents were most active. As there were 2 main issues I've discussed with them, insulation replacement and rodent problem, I'm giving 3 stars for the insulation installation. I understand there was the roof issue that might not solve the rodent problem, but if the technicians were really going to try to trap the rodents, they should've investigated a little more where the activity was and placed the traps accordingly. I had to move the trap to those high traffic areas myself. Update: I was contacted by Chuck to discuss my concerns. I had Attic Star rodent proof my crawl space and attic. They also cleaned, disinfected, and replaced the ducts in the crawl space and insulation in the attic. The rating was hard to figure out. The work was completed in a satisfactory manner. However, as the work was nearing completion. I received a phone call from the estimator that the job had been misquoted and that it would cost me an additional $3,000 after a small manager discount due to their error. I felt trapped, and reluctantly agreed to the $3,000. When I advised other professionals of my experience they were shocked that the company did not absorb this for customer service and ratings reasons. I called back after reviewing the other quotes. Attic Star's cost was higher per square feet for cleaning, disinfecting, and insulation than competitors. Had I known the real cost and received an accurate quote, I would not have selected them. I did receive a partial refund of $1,125 of the #3,000 extra I paid. Better than nothing, but I cannot say I'm a fully satisfied customer at this time.
