There aren't many top notch family style Italian restaurants around anymore that can be consistently great. Augie's is one of those few. Love that they moved from Boston Post Rd right into the heart of Larchmont, new restaurant looks great. Great wine selection which is also more than reasonably priced. So many options for apps, pasta, and main courses. The caprese salad and Kitchen Sink" Pasta are my go-to's. I experiment with the main course options, have never gone wrong. This place is one of the best and it looks to be for a while. read more

Came here last night with friends since one of them raved about how good the food was. And she was right! We ordered the mozzarella sticks as appetizers and for entrees - penne ala vodka, chicken parm and cheese tortellini. I loved the penne ala vodka, it was so flavorful and the penne was cooked perfectly - al dente, exactly how i love it. I did not try the chicken parm but my friends enjoyed it. The cheese tortellini was garlic-y and we all devoured it. Since the portions were so huge we all had leftovers to bring home (cant wait to eat it for lunch later). We also had desserts, one of my friends had a tiramisu and another had an apple turnover with vanilla ice cream. I had a sundae with sprinkles. We will def. come back again! read more

Tried Augie's for the first time tonight. Looking for something new and different...Well it was new and different. It was new and different to be served frozen packaged vegetables. Green beans and carrots by Birdseye. I wonder if they used the flavor packet? I swear the sauce was jarred! As for my server...it seemed as if our presence was annoying her. She stood by the coffee machine drinking coffee with a puss on. When it was time for my check she literally tossed it on my table. They say there are firsts and lasts in life. Outstanding old school Italian joint... great meals, friendly and helpful staff. The accordion player on weekends is a nice touch... street parking is pretty easy, reasonable prices...would highly recommend. The owner was terrific, we were once seated next to a family with a screaming kid and apathetic parents... owner came over and moved our party of 10, had to reconfigure tables but made it work... we definitely appreciated it. read more

I had dinner here yesterday and really enjoyed the meal, service, ambiance and new location. I often visited the old location on Post Rd and this new spot is definitely an upgrade in the setting. It seems like the food has improved as well! We looked forward to the complimentary chick pea salad, which is always a favorite of mine. We had Cesar salad, chicken and veal parmigiana and the Shrimp pappardelle with cream sauce, which was very tasty. The penne with vodka sauce is also delicious. As for dessert, the tiramisu and chocolate brownie are decadent. This place is great for families and can get a little noisy as a result. We had a wonderful meal and look forward to returning often. The food was average to mediocre. We ordered the stuffed clams which were covered in breadcrumbs which made me debate if I was actually eating a clam at all. They were also swimming in garlic and butter. We had the chicken and veal marsala which was clearly frozen from its taste. We also had rigatoni with meatballs which was the best dish but average. The side of vegetables was frozen and cooked by being overloaded with oil. This was the first time I went and would consider going back with children given the relaxed environment but only as a last resort. read more

I have been picking up food from Augies throughout the pandemic, and every single time it is hot and delicious, and everyone is courteous, kind and with a smile. Even on the phone, you can tell they are smiling. I couldn't be more thankful for this restaurant and their continuing efforts to keep us all safe and offer several dining options from on street dining, enchanting villas (with chandeliers!), fast delivery, and of course pick up. It has been such a godsend (with everyone at home, there's never time to cook!). Their lunch menu is just a superb as their dinner menu- try it if you haven't! I love all their soups and sandwiches. It is just so nice to know I can count on Augies to be there for my family during this tough time. And it feels good to support small, local businesses, too! read more

I'm a little disturbed by this place. I sat at the bar and luckily didn't order food. I watched a waiter clear a table off then take the dirty glass from the table, rinse it out with bar water, then proceed to fill the dirty cup with soda just to serve it to another customer! That is disgusting! Then people next to me ordered take out and waiting an hour and a half for their food and then were told they never put the order in. Instead of trying to keep the business they were unapologetic and let the customers leave. read more

The best Italian food you will ever have! THE staff is great...exceptional...they make you feel so welcomed. My favorite dish...well I can't really pick just one because they are all delicious!!!!! The location is great especially once the weather gets warmer...get off the train...and just walk over enjoy a delicious pasta dish...pizza...salad...like I said everything is mouth watering!!!! Beware!! Went to Augie's and saw a extra 4% charge added on my check after I gave server my card. When I asked the waiter, he said it's posted at the front: "All credit card payments will have an extra 4% charge" (it isn't). The law states that the waiter is supposed to inform us of the charge, plus it should be stated on check, and shall be clearly posted. 3 strikes. They didn't comply with the law at all!! Salmon with spinach, tomatoes and artichoke was delicious for a healthy meal at Augie's of Larchmont. When we entered into Augie's, my friends and I were greeted with a warm welcome from Charlie and Eddy. Samantha, our waitress, was attentive and friendly and the food came out quickly. Came for a family pre-Christmas dinner on a Sunday evening. Reservation honored, nice table in the corner, So far, so good. Later a party was seated next to us who seemed to think it was OK for their toddler to scream non-stop and to keep crawling in front of the busy bathroom door. OK, it's a family style restaurant and that's how that goes. Service was fairly attentive; water glasses kept full, extra beverages brought promptly. All that's left now is the food. I have got to agree with the reviewers who said "M'eh." The Arthur Ave bread was yesterday's for sure. Quantities of "family style" platters varied....many comparatively skimpy; others were larger when it was just/primarily pasta. A platter of chicken was passed off as an ordered veal dish. Food was definitely second rate. If you want a great family style Italian meal drive further south and get the real thing at F&J Pine in the Bronx. Even though we have family in Larchmont, we will not be going back to Augie's....just not worth it on several levels. read more

The food is the same, but the prices are higher, the bar is not separated from the dining room, the parking in the street is not available as in the old place. Great restaurant for large parties! Everything is served family style so it's perfect for sharing with more than one person. The "kitchen sink" pasta is one of my friends and I favorites. It's also a very nice environment- better then the old location. Slightly noisy restaurant for those who want to go out for a quiet dinner but it makes sense since it's mostly large groups. 4 stars for this place? Please. Really overrated and overpriced. I'm from Italy so I'm kinda harsh when it comes to "Italian" restaurant in the US. You can't do it? So please, don't. I also follow a strict regimented nutrition plan, so I'm really picky about my "cheat days". When I eat out, it has to be good. I went there for Christmas Eve, had one appetizer, Fried Calamari, one House salad, one pasta dish, Pasta Siciliana, two chicken dishes, Chicken Marsala and Chicken Scarpariello, and two desserts, Tartufo and Cannoli. Everything was really bland, everything screamed "put some frigging salt in me please". The fried calamari was not crispy enough. The salad was just lettuce and a couple of tomatoes. the pasta was lackluster, with huge pieces of eggplant (you are supposed to cut the eggplant small, so it mixes more with the pasta), the ricotta was bland, and the two chicken dishes tasted exactly the same, which was BLAND. The only good thing was the cannoli, but 9 dollars for two small cannoli? Come on now. The service is good though, the waiters were really attentive and nice. read more

It is a pleasure to be going back to Augie's. We missed it greatly. The food and the service as always was excellent. The banter with the ownership and staff is always fun ( I'm a Red Sox fan, enuff said) The salad was a joy even if only one dressing (But it's family style, and hunny Bunny and I dont' agree on dressing). We had the Sunday dinner and for another meal we ordered Ziti el Forno to go. We take the meals home for are lunches. Oh yeah we live in Maine. Over the last months, I went there three times with my family. We found the place a little noisy, but otherwise had a really good experience the first two times. The family style pasta was excellent, and overall the service was very good - if a little slow sometimes. Then we returned the night of Mother's Day - big mistake! When I made the reservation, they failed to inform us that there was a fixed menu that night. Once we found out, we decided to give it a try and regretted it. Most of the food was average at best. Some of the meat arrived lukewarm, the vegetables as well as the salad were completely bland, and my favorite dessert, the Tiramisu, was dry and almost stale. The mass-cooking on that night had clearly impacted the quality of the food very negatively. If/when I go back, I will definitely avoid their fixed menus on or around holidays. read more
