I usually don't crave pastries like this, but my friend wanted some coffee, so we decided to head to Santana Row and check out Augustine. The moment I walked in, I loved how cozy and comfortable the place felt. The decor and atmosphere were really nice and made it a great spot to relax for a bit. I ended up getting the pain aux raisins pastry, and it was honestly amazing. It had the perfect amount of sweetness, a nice crisp texture on the outside, and was soft and flavorful inside. Definitely one of those pastries you keep thinking about afterward. I honestly wish I tried more pastries, but that'll be for next time. Would definitely come back again!

We celebrated Mother's Day at Augustine and had a great experience. Since we brought our dogs with us, we decided to sit outside, Our server even brought water out for the dogs. The outdoor ambiance was relaxing, and there was a live band playing nearby which made the whole experience even better. The food was also really good and everything we ordered was enjoyable.

Augustine has a nice ambiance but the food doesn't live up to it. The savory Dungeness crab donuts had good crab flavor but the donut itself was too sweet and the pairing didn't work. The gratineed oysters came out shriveled and were too salty. The citrus cured salmon tartare was the weakest dish of the night. The flavors read like salmon with Montreal seasoning and yuzu, and the textures were off. The burger was fine, fries were standard. Service was actually the most notable part of the meal, and not entirely for good reasons. Food came out promptly and the staff were attentive, but our waiter made a noticeable shift midway through. The "are you good?" check-ins started feeling less like hospitality and more like a nudge toward the door. Dessert menus disappeared quickly and payment followed shortly after. It made what could have been an enjoyable dinner feel like a transaction. Worth trying once if you're already in Santana Row, but don't go out of your way.

One of our friends from barry's ended up treating us to savory and sweet pastries. it was cool to see that they had a café on the side of the restaurant. The ambience was a sitdown outdoor café along with a restaurant inside. The service was really good and super helpful and narrowing the options to enjoy for the morning.

Aug Augustine is a beautiful newer addition to Santana Row -- stylish, lively, and already drawing a crowd. The bar is first‑come, first‑served, and there's a great heated, covered patio along with bistro tables outside if you prefer to sit outdoors. Food was genuinely excellent. The crab donut appetizer is unique and a fun start to our meal. The linguine al limone with Dungeness crab is exceptional -- bright, rich, and perfectly balanced. The burger was cooked exactly to temp and had just the right amount of sauciness. They also have an impressive wine list, though corkage is $35 per bottle if you want to bring your own. Service was on the slower side, but to their credit, senior staff stepped in to help keep things moving. It felt like a team still finding its rhythm, but trying hard. Overall, a great meal in a gorgeous space. Four stars for the slower service, but I'd absolutely come back -- especially for that crab linguine.

Augustine has such a nice ambiance and the indoor and outdoor seating are both nice. We ordered the caviar and fried chicken, and the caviar portion was surprisingly generous, though I wished there had been a little more chicken. The steak was delicious and cooked really well, but I also found myself wishing the portion was slightly bigger. The fries were crispy, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite sides. Service was really nice throughout the night, and I ordered the Influencer Martini, which was super easy to drink. Overall, really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back.

love the rotating menu and great variety of tasty food. I would say, everything on the menu each time I've dined in were good or delicious. the one thing though is some items are overly greasy which doesn't hurt the flavor but is a bit unnecessary. staff is friendly and helpful as well.

We have been wanting to try out Augustine's before it opened. At first we were hesitant but we've now eaten here 3 times now. We didn't take photos of everything because we were enjoying the atmosphere. I love most of their dishes: - brunch pancakes - brunch/dinner smashed crispy potatoes (add truffle omg!!) - croissants - dungeness crab donuts - Augustine breakfast - dinner salmon - dinner wagyu steak - dinner garden salad (not leafy mainly beet love it) - dinner gem salad (leafy) We didn't like the calamari dish because it was more soupy. Wish it was crispy calamari. The lattes needed some help

This place is perfect for small bites, cocktails, drinks and hanging out with friends. I didn't get a chance to take pics inside - it's beautiful. We sat outside and enjoyed the amazing California weather. Pros: - very tasty and healthy dishes - perfect spot - Santana Row - beautiful decor - simple food menu (one pager) - lots of options for drinks (several pages for wine and cocktail plus mocktails) - great to share plates Con - being Santana Row, it's on the pricier side - the waiter landed up getting 2 dishes each - though we do finish it (we had asked for just one) - smaller portions - we asked for clams appetizer, he got a clam pasta entree - it was tasty - we didn't bother returning it It's a great place to hang out. My one request would be not bringing the food out so quickly- we wanted to chat and have more drinks.

A belated review, but a review nonetheless! I was here for a Galentine's dinner back in February and Augustine did not disappoint! The staff were so nice and attentive, even making sure to place the newest dishes down as we were taking photos. The private room we were in was really nice and luxurious feeling, as we didn't have to shout to hear ourselves over the other patrons' chatter. Highlights for me were the crispy potatoes. Oh, those were perfectly crispy but still soft. I could just eat that! I ordered the burger with fries and the burger was perfectly cooked. The bun was very squishy and all of the flavoring of the meat seeped right into it alongside the cheese. The fries were delicious too! The shoestring type of fry is usually not my go to, but these were nice and crispy.

Clarified Long Island iced tea and The Aficionado

Santana Row has A LOT of new restaurants and we haven't been to any of them. Well, we knocked off 3 (yes, 3!) in one evening: Suspiro, Augustine, and Zazil. Augustine was our second stop, after Suspiro. It was the complete opposite of Suspiro, vibe wise. It was pretty dead inside, darker, more serious, and honestly, we were a little worried. But we sat down at the bar and ordered two drinks (a clarified Long Island iced tea and The Aficionado with tequila, mezcal, braulio, maple syrup, walnut, and angostura bitters), truffle french fries, and a duck confit cannelloni. The cocktails were solid, but it was the service and food that impressed us. They were just super attentive and brought me all the sauces for the French fries - ketchup, aioli, and a crème fraîche with chives - which were perfectly made with real black truffles. The duck confit cannelloni could have been too rich, but it wasn't. Everything was understated, but just done really well. We were surprised! This was our second favorite of the night.

Caviar Bites, Gem Lettuce Salad & Harissa-Spiced Carrots with Tzatziki.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Augustine, serving coastal Californian cuisine with French and Italian influences. We started with the Caviar Bites--fried chicken topped with ranch seasoning and caviar crème fraîche. We also shared the gem lettuce salad with apples, grapes, celery, gorgonzola, and candied walnuts. For our main, we had the roasted chicken with herb butter and lemon-dijon, along with the harissa-spiced carrots served over a warm bulgur salad with preserved lemon tzatziki. The food was incredible and delicious, and the service was excellent.

IMHO I didn't expect to dine at Augustine for a second time, just two months after our last outing, but was pleased to be invited to a family gathering and birthday celebration there! Our party was set in the private dining room in the back, which made for a lovely, intimate, (and quieter) atmosphere. Chloe was our fantastic server/host who took care of our party immaculately! She was wonderful and always available to ensure we had everything we needed. Thank you, Chloe! Our delicious dinner menu began with the Grilled Flatbread served with Muhammara tapenade, Garden Vegetable salad w/roasted beets, tangerines, radishes, smoked goat cheese and sunflower seeds, and the Roasted Mushroom Tart! For our party, everything was served family-style with two plates of each dish per table. Our mains and sides were the Linguine al Limone, Herbed Salmon a la Plancha, Grilled Bavette Steak, Roasted Cauliflower, and Crispy Potatoes. Dessert was the Basque Cheesecake, so light, creamy and delectable with the orange-chamomile syrup! This was an epic meal. Absolutely everything was delicious, flavorful, and memorable! If I had to choose one thing that really stood out to me, it was the Roasted Mushroom Tart, and I'm not usually a mushroom fan! It was amazing and I would definitely order it again! Can't wait to return to Augustine!

I think traditionally, you need reservations for Cielo, but their Winter Experience (ran through December and mid-January) is first-come, first-served. The Winter Experience is a Christmas-themed set-up - very tastefully and beautifully decorated - with Christmas music (even 2 weeks after the New Year). the tables along the edge have small in-table fire pits AND a tall heated furnace - you will not be cold in December. these tables do require a minimum spend of $50 per person, which we came into this expecting that regardless - however, it sounds like you can sit at any of the other tables without this minimum spend, though you will only have a blanket for warmth. the sunset was beautiful, though keep in mind that we do live in a city, and there are other tall buildings around, so don't set your expectations too high. Overall, we are so happy we finally checked this place out, and that we were able to do so during the Winter Experience. We did find it overpriced (considering it's at Hotel Valencia... we weren't surprised) for what you get. I tried one cocktail (~$20) that tasted like a flavored soda, before switching to wine; my husband had 2 Old Fashioned, they were both made differently but both good. What a rich treat. * Arancini: The twist of fusion flavors was great. I love how the Japanese curry added a nice mix of umami, paired with the sharp creamy kimchi sauce. Definitely a favorite! * Pork belly: Pull apart, juicy, and tender! These paired actually really well with the arancini for a good balance of rice and meat. * Red miso crème brûlée: interesting sweet and salty flavor combination between the red miso and Madagascar vanilla. Not too overpowering tho. A lovely meal was had here!

**USP: upscale Indian restaurant. Great location to celebrate special occasions…read more **AMBIANCE: elegant and classy. Lot of spots for photo ops as well. They have a wall filled with Indian artwork which made a great backdrop for pictures. **FOOD: We tried a lot of varieties, across the board the food was decent but not one dish was extraordinary which evoked a wow factor. I asked our server to suggest only the best of the their menu and this is what we got. Andhra chilli chicken-4/5- it was like an indo Chinese dish with corn starch and some Andhra chillies. Authenticity aside, the dish was delicious and lip smacking with a wonderful zip of heat. Flame grilled chicken- 4.5/5- their version of tandoori chicken. It was made well, had a good char and the flavors ran deep into the meat. The chicken was extremely tender as well. Avocado tikki-3.5/5- slightly salty. Come to think of it, the other vegetarian dish we got - water chestnut kofta was a bit salty as well. Crispy outside and very soft inside. Decent but not noteworthy. Kala mutton-3/5- the mutton was tough in parts and the gravy lacked a punch which meat normally needs. Pressure cooker chicken-3.5/5- this was Andhra style chicken gravy and it came directly to our table in a small cooker. The consistency was a bit watery and though the flavors were present it was on the milder side. Donne biryani-4/5- wonderful rich flavor, the rice absorbed the flavors wonderfully as well. Too much meat and very little rice and there was fat accumulated at the bottom. Rose Kulfi experience- Experience-5/5 Rose kulfi-3.5/5 Family enjoyed the experience of watching the liquid nitrogen convert the sweet Rabdi into icecream. We got to crush a frozen red rose into the rabdi as well before it got converted to icecream. Weak point was the cloying sweetness of the rabdi and the consistency of the icecream- parts of it were still liquid and some parts were over frozen.
